I bought a pair of Randolph Engineering Aviators. The sunglasses I received were fakes and damaged. The product packaging is different than the original Randolph Engineering packaging and it also says made in China on it, while Randolph Engineering prides itself with manufacturing everything in the USA. I didn't receive the repair kit that comes with EVERY pair of Randolph Engineering glasses. The Randolph brand label on the glasses is scratched off and not as white and visible as on the images seen on smartbuyglasses.ch and Randolph's Official website. The sunglasses case is also not an authentic Randolph Engineering case as I've owned pairs bought directly from their website before. This company SELLS FAKE GLASSES. I don't normally post on forums but I do read the reviews when I am purchasing a product. However, I felt obligated to write a post after ordering a pair of Ray Ban glasses from Smartbuyglasses.

After reading numerous reviews, some good and some bad, I decided to order a pair of glasses from them. From the reviews I read, the only complaints seemed to be that sometimes the glasses took longer to be delivered than advertised. As the price is so good I was willing to take the chance that this might happen to me.

I am in South Africa and I ordered my glasses on Friday afternoon. The glasses are shipped from Hong Kong regardless of which website you purchase them from. This is their head office. On Tuesday evening my glasses arrived. This is 2 working days after I ordered them.

To be fair, the model I purchased was labelled as having "Fast Delivery". However, I never expected it to be this quick.

I can confirm that the glasses are definitely genuine and are the exact model that I saw in the shop.

It is definitely worth buying from this company. If the worst that can happen is that delivery takes longer than you thought, this is not a deal breaker in my opinion.

As I said I don't normally post on forums but this time I felt that they deserved it as some people have been really nasty in their reviews and I don't feel it was justified.

Edit: The verdict is out and the glasses are genuine! So you will get authentic glasses at reasonable price and fast shipping time. The shipping is fast so long as you make sure your transaction is gone through. I changed the rating accordingly.

I understand the reply from Sunglasses about their operation in Germany and HK, this is all understandable, however they need to be clear about this on their website about their warehouse locations, customers must know where their item is coming from.

I bought a pair of designer glasses from them, thinking they are based in Vancouver canada, but the shipment is from Hong Kong. There is no phone number on their site, which should have been a clue. How could a company not have a phone number for customer service?
I am taking designer glasses to the original manufacturer and testing them for authenticty. Not to jump the gun before the results are out, but if they fail, class action lawsuit will be in order. I will post you with the outcome, be it reassuring or revealing. We need scams out of Canada.

First they shipped a wrong product, then they ask me to ship it back to HK for which the cost was same as product brought. If that's the case they are shipping fake products.

I tried ordering a pair of Dolce & Gabbana glasses from this website several months ago. The website originally states a 2-5 day dispatch time.

After 4 weeks with no glasses I received an email telling me the item was out of stock and would take 1-4 weeks to come back.

6 weeks later and no update so I contacted them and asked for an update and was asked to wait a few more weeks. 4 weeks later and still nothing so I asked for a refund.

I emailed again a little while later to ask for a stock update and was told the item was back and they would give me a discount due to the earlier problems, BUT I HAD TO PAY IN FULL and the discount would be refunded back to me on dispatch, despite them having discount codes which they offered me at the end of all of this. A little while later and I have been told the item is not in stock again.

The worst thing is that at no time did they update their website to show the item was not available, chances are they just keep them up there to encourage people to spend and then hope they wait for months for stock to return whenever it does.

Avoid this company at all costs!

Very Poor Service overall

The positives - Amazing selection of Genuine Frames (I checked with Suppliers), easy ordering & easy payment.

The Negatives - Dreadful lenses (I am getting mine replaced), Awful delivery, they screwed up both of mine & poor customer service who didn't care when I couldn't locate glasses.

So, it's been 6 weeks since order and they don't seem to have faintest idea WHEN my sunglasses could be expected to ship, if ever. I received couple of responses via email, containing basically the same template text "As we mentioned, we currently cannot give you an indication when we can expect your item to arrive, nor guarantee that we can deliver you order." So, you can't even claim getting lip service from this company. I cancelled my order and now I'm curious to see if I even get my money back.

So my review is this: Very unreliable. They are not able to tell you whether they actually can EVER ship your order.

Background: Submitted order for Maui Jim Freight Trains with prescription lenses on 10th April, with a note to expedite order since I needed new sunglasses for a long motorcycle trip. Order confirmation email claimed "Within the next 3-5 days we will update you on your order status by email."

Finally received an email on April 19th apologizing for delay caused by "restocking." As of 5th May, have not received glasses or any communication or update how the order is processing. Subsequently received the template customer communication emails with no real information. Paid $405.
