Never again

They never returned the deposit, although there was no problem with the car. Deposit of 300 EURO. I am sending emails and calling and no reply!

I have rented their car at the Las Vegas Airport Branch. I opened the email by the car and checked existing minor damages that stated on the email. There were 7-8 marks and I found all of those minor damage except 1 was saying there is a chip on the Windshield at the driver's side. I checked very carefully but couldn't see it. It was evening but I still checked it with the flashlight of my phone and clearly there was no chip. I assume they fixed it and forgot to clear their note.
Later that day, in broad daylight, when we were driving, my friend on the passenger side realized there was a chip on the PASSENGER side. I took a picture but still didn't worry since they had a chip on the windshield. I assumed, instead of the passenger side, they stated driver side by mistake.
When I returned the car about a week later, I explained this to the lady where I dropped the car and said should I inform the office? She said it's an express drop off. Office will take care of that no worry and she told me that I can leave since the office knows what it is.
I received an email about damage later. I explained everything clearly and sent them pictures I took later that day. I also told them you have windshield chips stated on the damage list. It wasn't on the driver side but the passenger side. They said they will review it. Guess what, they fixed that damage and sent me over a $700 repair bill. I didn't pay and they kept sending me an invoice and forcing me to pay it. Do yourself a good thing and stay away from this company. Very poor customer service.
As a result, Sixt is forcing you to pay for their existing car damage. Steer clear from this company.

The agent in LAX charged my card that I used for the 1st car, without permission and for a ridiculous price I hadn't agreed on. They stored this card details on their database. I wanted to book a 2nd car 2 days later. The price quoted by him was ~USD1700. I agreed on that but no permission was given to initiate any charge. I was in fact planning to use another card for this 2nd booking. Seconds later, I received a SMS from my bank. ~USD3200 was charged.
The chap said it was because of the tax, insurance and what not. I specifically asked him how much I be charged as the final amount and ~USD1700 was what he said. I disputed immediately and got my car from ALAMO. I had to call my bank immediately and report the transaction which cost me USD100 in roaming charges. Talked to the manager too. No help as he said the funds would be returned in max of 14days. But hell I needed those credits for the remaining days of my vacation.
Best to avoid SIXT. Bunch of tricksters. If I had not received the message from the bank, I wouldn't have known this fraud. Go for ALAMO instead. They are transparent and the invoice is given to you immediately even before you collect the car. These SIXT fraudsters are sly.

STAY AWAY...FAR FAR AWAY. As hundreds of other reviews state, zero stars would be the better choice but not an option. My story sounds SO SIMILAR to others who have been shaken down over false claims of damage to the car. The first and what will be the only time I ever use SIXT they send me pictures of damage to the rental car that had not had any impact with anything ever while I was driving it--there is no way I would not have noticed it hitting something with the damage they alleged. There was no visible damage when I left it. They don't have employees around at 6am to look at the car with you at a airport location where flights start at 5am. I've been renting cars for 20 years and never had to leave one abandoned without reviewing for damages with an employee. I had no choice but to leave it unattended and just drop the keys in a box. No one to examine the car with you. I don't know what happened to it after I left but they do not take responsibility for having no one to review the car with you for damages. The "customer service" (using that term very loosely) rep on the phone tried to allege that the airport didn't allow them to open sooner than 6am. It's a freaking airport so of course people are returning cars by 6am. I mentioned every other rental agency had agents checking in cars when I arrived. I said "Are you telling me that the Seattle airport doesn't let Sixt open before 6am?" She then wouldn't answer that question I guess realizing how preposterous that was, and said I needed to contact the airport to ask them their policy for when they let this company open. Complete BS. She was unprofessional, talking over me, cutting me off. This place is unethical. I don't write reviews ever and I don't try to get out of things I am responsible for. Never again. Don't let their lower rates fool you...you get what you pay for in the end.

My wife and I rented a car from Sixt in Larnaca airport (Cyprus) on October 18,2022 for 2 days (42 hours). There were several issues with this Car Rental Agency which makes us not to ever rent a car from them again:
1- Car was too expensive (167.83 Euro for 2 days for a basic model) so we expected a good car and a good service.
2- There was no cancelation and no refund after I finished my booking (later, I found a much cheaper alternative but I could not cancel my booking with Sixt).
3- When we landed at the airport and wanted to pickup the car, they charged us an extra 16 Euro to give us a slightly different model (which I never asked for).
4- There was a charge of 17 Euro for the GPS system included in my booking but they didn't have a car with GPS so they gave me a micky mousy outdated and small portable GPS which I could buy for less than 15 Euro myself. The GPS was a disaster and so outdated that we could not find most of the places we wanted to visit. It was a potential danger to our trip as well since once it guided us to a one-way street (apparently turned to a one-way street a couple of years ago but this GPS would show it as a 2-way street) and we almost got into an accident.
5- When we were picking up the car, we were tired and I didn't know how to use this GPS, so I asked the agent to enter our hotel address but she was so careless that she entered a wrong address. After about 20 Km on a HW, we realized it's a wrong address so I had to pull over the shoulder in a dangerous situation to enter the correct address.
6- All insurances were supposed to be included (Loss damage waiver, Third party insurance, Theft protection), but at the time of pickup, the agent tried to push me to pay an extra 56 Euro for tire insurance and when I denied, she blocked 900 Euro from my credit card for 10 days after the return.
For all these reasons, I'm very disappointed with Sixt Rent a Car and never recommend them to anybody.

I recently rented from Argus / sixt in dublin
Drove the renault clio out of dublin airport and soon realised there was an issue with the steering … it was pulling hard to the left
Onto the freeway and as i accelerated there was violent intermittent steering wheel shake. I managed to get to Mayo and checked in Hotel … next day was a quiet day and no driving. Got in car following day and it was the same … i called sixt and they sent a chap to try to fix it … we tested it. Together on the car park and he could see there was an inbalance … so he took it for a drive … he returned and told me in needed urgent repair and not to drive it any long distance - and i would get a call … he was about to leave and a lady called me. She told me thw mechanic had suggested it needed minor work - i had heard there entire conversation and minor was not in it! Mechanic was still there so i asked him again whilst on the phone to sixt and he said it needed urgent repair … she tried to get me to drive it to a garage - i explained that i was on vacation and i needed a rental car available and i was not prepared to drive it - that was her job not mine …!
I agreed to let them take it for repair … they picked it up on a loader and returned it that evening "fixed" it was slightly better but still shaking and it drove like a crab still. My wife was screaming at me to stop and we ended up with a compromised vacation
Finally got this disaster of a car back to dublin and dropped it off. I told the sixt guy "please do not let this car go out again - it is a danger" his reply was based on what i may have done to it - but when i explained he just said "reault clio - they are rubbish - always the same" not really what i wanted to hear ….
I have been renting holiday vehicles for over 30 years and this was so far the worst ever experience- just want to forget it …
I did fill in the online review but no reply from u on that… i lost 1/2 a day car use and 5 days of danger... rubbish company

I wish l could give them -100 stars because one star is too good for them. I will never rent a vehicle with Sixt ever! I had car trouble on my way to Atlanta, in one of their vehicles. The vehicle was shaking, so we were driving at low speeds because we did not feel safe. I call Sixt Indianapolis Airport where l had rented the car and Rochelle said she could not help me and l needed to call customer service. Customer service said that was fine l could go and exchange a vehicle at another Sixt once l got to Atlanta. Easy right, NO, Sixt Indianapolis then called me threatening to charge me a drop off fee of $900 if l did not return the car to Indianapolis. I told them the customer service they had told me to call was glad to change the vehicle and ensure our safety. Sheila/Alice/Stella whatever her name was then told me that Sixt is franchised meaning they operate as individual companies versus a national company. Therefore that car was owned by the Indianapolis Airport Sixt and needed to return there because they would have to find someone to go to Atlanta to pick it up. I asked her why then l was told to call customer service and that so l was required to drive an unsafe car back to Indy, she said yes. She added her boss had drove the car before and it was fine, okay? So what does that have to do with our current problem? IF SIXT IS NOT ONE COMPANY AND THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT FRANCHISES THEN WHY NOT HAVE DIFFERENT NAMES. This was my first time renting with Sixt and DEFINATELY! THE LAST. They taught me a hard lesson JUST STICK TO REPUTABLE car rental places like Budget, Avis, National, Hertz, Enterprise that have been in business forever, they have realized that customer service is important to grow a business a concept Sixt has obviously not mastered. I guess that explains why when l picked up the car, Sixt counter was empty with one or two people yet they were long lines by Avis and Budget. I guess those people learnt a lesson as well before me! AND I REPEAT NEVER! AGAIN! And did l mention they called me twice a day before my rental to find out if l was coming to pick up my PREPAID car! Ridiculous...

Dear,
I have contacted several times and send and this problem is still not solved i will try for the last time i understand you a co-worker for this company and sometimes you don't want to work.But this is a big problem we are talking about more than €2000 have been extra charged on my several bookings the past year.You guys tell me all the time it has to do with my bank account but it is not!I contacted my bank they said and checked everything and sixt is the problem.I'm waiting for couple of weeks to solve this problem but none of the co-workers helped me to a good way.

So i kindly ask to solve this problem! I have the invoices and bankstatements sended earlier to sixt but u guys can also check this how much you guys overcharged me i really understand some of you co-workers are to lazy for this work at sixt but this really really a big problem if this is not solved i have to make an report by the police.
I'm a client for a long time of period i hope we can solve this problem in a good way so i can continue hire from sixt. But my hope is almost over because weeks pass by.
Conclusion of sixt overcharged to much when you bring the car back.And im always hire with 0€ risk full covered damage waiver everything insured and still they do this.

I'm a client for a long time or period this is happend several times i waited for a long time but its not solved yet.

People who happend the same please contact me i need a email + story + invoices of people who have the same issues with this company this is not ok!
Big company s like this and lazy co-workers this will be to the courtroom with all the statements with allot of people please. Contant me!

I made a reservation with Sixt after being told they we're a good company. Man was that wrong. I had a 10pm reservation for pickup. In the reservation email to go outside to the curb for a branded shuttle van for a ride to their office. I went out to the curb and no van. I spent some time looking around with no luck. So I stopped and looked up the offices phone number at this time it was 11:02pm. I asked the customer service person about the shuttle and he said he wasn't aware of any pickups tonight. I gave him all my reservation information and he started to act funny. Then he said because I was past the 60 minute time from my reservation that the system had cancelled the reservation. I explained to him that are flight had a medial emergency on board and they keep us on board as medical teams worked to get the passenger off and I had to spend time looking for the shuttle with no luck. I asked that since I was only 2 minutes late he should be able to put it back in the system I'm sure they hadn't rented the van in that time. He said he wasn't able to do that. As I asked why he finally told me they never had a van that they could have even rented me. He keep telling me this was my problem and not his. I shouldn't have been late. Then he just hung up on me.

I have rented cars all over using most every major company with no problems and every other company gives you 24 hours from your reservation time before cancelling your reservation.

I was stuck at the San Juan airport at midnight with 4 people. No other rental car company showed cars available. I was able to get on enterprises website and it showed a van available and the very very helpful enterprise agent said make the reservation and they would see what it said when it came into their system. They found the van sent 2 people out to get it cleaned and ready for us.

Ended up costing me over $1500 more because I had to go from the mini van I had reserved with Sixt to a 15 passenger For Transit. But that is what you have to do when Sixt leaves you hanging at midnight at the airport with a 2 hour drive still to your place.

I will never use Sixt and will tell everyone I can what they did to me and my family.

Worst car rental EVER
October 24, 2022

I rent cars frequently for long periods of time for business. I just discovered Sixt in Denmark, and had a good experience.
A month ago I rented a car from them at their LAX location. I returned the car at 2:30PM on Saturday. Their inspector checked the car in and out carefully, and told me that it was OK. At 1AM on Sunday I got a message from Sixt stating hat there was a MAJOR DAMAGE to the car. All Sunday morning I tried to call Sixt, but could not talk to a human being. Finally I drove to the rental location, and fortunately the car was still in the lot. I checked again with one of their very kind and helpful associate, and she also confirmed, that there was nothing wrong with the car. I took a lot of pictures poving that the car had NO DAMAGE to it, other than the ones that were already noted. I hoped that on Monday I can clear up the issue withtheir Claims Department. On Monday morning, 2 AM, I got a nasty message from Sixt, claming that I refused to cooperate, and asked me to fill out some online forms. Monday morning I spent SEVERAL HOURS before I was able to talk with someone at claims, who told me that the case was closed. Never admiting that they made a mistake, never apologising. Unfortunately they have my CC number, but if they make any additional charges I'll take the issue to my CC company, the BBB, and Consumer Affairs.
DO NOT EVER RENT FROM SIXT!

Scandale. ARNAQUE

Un scandale! Nous avons reçu une voiture endommagée, avec 20 dommages, égratignures et bumps. Au retour de la location, juste en passant son doigt magique, le préposé nous a accusés d'en avoir ajouté une nouvelle, alors que nous n'avons jamais eu d'accrochage. Ils nous facturent maintenant 670 euros pour la réparation, alors qu'ils n'ont jamais réparé aucune les 20 autres! Une arnaque. Voir photo, la seule qu'ils nous accusent d'avoir fait est en rouge, alors que toutes les autres marques existantes étaient sur le contrat de la voiture reçue

VERY BAD SERVICE! THEY LOST A CLIENT! FOR EVER!

Wir hatten für den, 06.07.2022, ein Auto bei Sixt im Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt bestellt und mit Amex bezahlt.
Bei unserer Ankunft am Mittag war das Büro unbesetzt und niemand zu erreichen. Es gab kein Hinweisschild mit Kontaktdaten oder einer Telefonnummer.
Laut unserem Vertrag siehe Foto, ist das Büro von Montag bis Freitag von 06:30 bis 21 Uhr besetzt.

Da wir niemanden vom Buro am Hauptbahnhof in Frankfurt erreichen konnten, mussten wir zu einem sehr hohen Preis ein Auto bei Europcar mieten.

Im Anhang finden sie Fotos von:
• Uhrzeitangabe im Vertrag
• 4 Seiten Vertrag
• Rechnung von Europcar
• 2 Fotos vom leeren Schalter ohne Hinweisschild

Ich verlangte eine Stornierung der Zahlung und eine Entschädigung für die viel höhere Miete bei Europcar.

Nach 3 Monaten und mehrere Beschwerden hat Sixt leidliche 129 € zurückerstattet. Lächerlicher Antwort und Entschuldigung, nach 10 Jähriger treuer Kunden haben Sie mich endlich verloren...

صدقا من اسوأ شركات السيارات في الرياض انا استأجرت من عندكم سيارة واحنا ضيوف وسياح على الدولة ووصلنا المطار وطلبنا نستلم السيارة من شركة سيكست ورفض
الموظف يسلمنا السيارة لعدم وجود بطاقة كرديت كارد وانا ما بتعامل ببطاقات الكرديت وعرضت عليه ادفع نقدا مبلغ تأمين الفان ريال حسب طلب الموظف وبرضه رفض وعرضت عليه احجز بطاقتي البنكية وبرضه رفض وخبرني راح يرجعلك مبلغ المدفوع سابقا من خلال شركة بوكينج دوت كوم وتواصلت مع بوكينج خبروني لن يتم ارجاع اي مبلغ يعني باختصار شديد استغلال وكسب غير مشروع والحصول على مبلغ بغير وجه حق للاسف بشكل قانوني انا بناشد وزارة السياحة السعودية تنتبه لهاي الشركات القائمة على استغلال اي فرصة للكسب غير المشروع على السواح وللاسف بشكل قانوني حسب ما خبروني انو العقد هيك موجود بند فيه طيب اذا العقد في ثغرة مو من صالح تشجيع السياحة في الدولة وهي شركة بالمطار يعني تمثل الانطباع الاول للسائح القادم للدولة هل نستغلها لكسب مبالغ بغير حق انا حزين جدا على اسلوبكم يا شركة سيكست الذي لا يمت بأي شكل من الأشكال على التطور او التقدم او التعامل المهني الذي تتبناه المملكة العربية السعودية ادام الله عزها وعز ملكها
