This website has the worst sitters and childcare in the city. They don't have integrity and treat their sitters with no integrity as well. There are much better childcare websites in Charlotte much better.

So after reaching out and talking on the phone with countless people they don't show up for the interview or say one thing and when hired don't show up for the job. The people applying for work on this site are either scammers or lazy entitled millennials who show up when they feel like it. Horrible absolutely horrible unreliable people. Not one did well.! Months and months of search. Just give up... Use Bambino which offers free membership or urban sitter apps

I filed a complaint against a sitter with Sittercity, believing they would look into this. I've been a site member for over six years since I called. I filed the complaint and was told I would hear from someone from their safety team. Instead, I got an email asking me to explain what happened. I explained what happened and sent my evidence, and still no response. I called, and I was told someone would reach out. I waited a few days, and again, no response; the abuse from this Sitter got so bad that I had to file a restraining order against her. Sittercity didn't Care to reach out to me and resolve this. I got frustrated, and I told them to go F* themselves. I am disgusted by their professionalism. This is my child that we're talking about, and they did not even care to hear me out. There's no way this is this sitter's first time doing this to a family. I'm almost positive that she's been reported before, and Sittercity just turned a blind eye, and shame on them. I will be making a TikTok and exposing Sittercity and their lack of urgency to deal with the severe matter I brought to them. They'll see the power of social media. They canceled my membership without giving me a reason why. I want a full refund. Without giving me a reason why. I want a full refund immediately.

I contacted them on the my payment was going through and that wouldn't cancel. $105 for absolutely NOTHING and they don't send you a heads up email that your payment is going through. I am a very qualified babysitter, I have been working with children for over 7 years, was a camp counselor, girl scout leader, and now I am an EMT the specializes in Pediatrics and Neonatal care. The ID verification link they sent me would not open, I then emailed them and they said it was the end of their business hours and they would send me a link the next business day. I then got an email with the options of paying for a package to check my ID, for over $30. I decline and decide to wait for them to send me the new link. The next day roles around and they have blocked me from being able to work for the site. I then email customer service again asking what the issue is, and Adrienne S. Says, " Nothing Further, Solving out". They are horribly unprofessional, and lazy. I will take my skill and experience to a company that knows how to communicate.

I signed up to be a sitter and all of a sudden I couldn't log in. I contacted support and they said my account had been suspended. They wouldn't tell me why. I moved to another state and created another account because I did nothing wrong the first time. All of a sudden I can't log in and my account suspended and they once again will not give me a reason as to why. I never had any reviews so it was nothing from that and they will absolutely not tell me what I did wrong. Very sad as I have 14 years professional experience and am very good at my job.

I paid 45 dollars for a basic background check & a driving record check. My driving record came back showing 7 "Restrictions" that I could not get clarification on thru Sittercity. They told me I had to take it up with the company they use which is Chekr.com ( another company that avoids dealing one on one with their clients.)
Chekr.com told me I had to get answers from Sittercity and this continued back& forth until I submitted a dispute 3 weeks ago and have not heard back from either Company following up yet! Absolutely impossible to get ahold of a live person at Sittercity period. Also whenever I try to edit anything on my profile it never saves the changes, and I was told to do it on a computer. Which I have a tablet, but still it defaults back to my original bio, which is outdated by about 5 years. And another thing that is unbelievably frustrating is the fact that their site won't allow you to upload references " at this time". But they say they're working on fixing that issue. Sure thing. Just an overall ridiculously bad experience and terrible customer service

I signed up just wanting to try for a month but the 3 months looked decent just in case. I knew I needed to let them know when I was done so I wouldn't get charged again and I made a note to do so, but when you have a newborn along with 3 other kids and move to a new state all at once, it's hard to stay on top of everything. Low and behold I did not need the service anymore as we found a sitter through friends, and had been meaning to send an email. It was clear I hadn't logged in to use the site for over a month and wasn't needing the service. So one day late to "cancel" and they give NO grace. Wow. That's poor. I won't use their service and they want to still take $ from me. What fraud. All they want is the money and for people to forget. I will never use this site again. Awful customer support.

SITTERCITY.com is such a mediocre company. I'd recommend CARE.com for all of your care needs. More about SITTERCITY.com… After I read everything that the company offered on their website… I decided to subscribe due to the basic membership not offering much. After paying for the subscription, I was HIGHLY disappointed within the first five minutes and tried to cancel. This is the response I received days later, " While we do not offer refunds, as stated on the purchase page and your receipt, your Premium Membership has been set to not renew, so you will not be charged moving forward." The website and everything they stand for is MEDIOCRE, what a scam. This company has no morals, ethics or company values. I wish I would have checked out their low reviews prior checking out their website.

I spend money for basic criminal check because apparently that's the only way to complete your profile? Weird. But anyway, I got charge and minutes later, I got an email saying something went wrong with my payment EVEN THOUGH I GOT CHARGE. It's stressful and not worth it to try. Customer service sucks, everything sucks and never get my money back.

I paid $39 to upload a job - that zero applicants applied to. I reached out to the very very few people in the area, and got only two no responses.
I think it is totally unethical to charge people for jobs in geographic areas the business clearly is not up and running in. I will be reporting this to the better business bureau as well.

The sitters on the site are not our employees and they independently network on our site. Depending on the location and timing, sitters can be more or less active and it's ultimately up to each individual sitter to decide whether or not they would like to respond. However, we absolutely do stress the importance of (timely) responsiveness and professionalism to all of the sitters on the site.

These Sittercity scumbag Thieves started charging my card and I never subscribed as a premium member. I never even used their service! They are a rip off and get you to put your card to even get a quote for a sitter which is insane cost and then they act like you enrolled in premium membership. I thought maybe I could get a job from them but when someone asked to run a background check on me sitter city's website wouldn't let me plus the suspended my account :( so I lost the job because the family thought I wasn't interested, it makes me so mad because i was being so polite and they didn't give a dime about me or even contacting the family and letting them know what had happened i ask them to and they stopped answering my :(

Even though my experience with this unethical company was two years ago, I feel compelled to try and warn as many others as I can. Their business model depends on people not reading the fine print. In my case, when I noticed "auto-renewal" on the purchase page, I backtracked to make sure I had not selected an auto-renewing policy or subscription. It clearly stated a 3-month plan (which I did to take advantage of a discount). If auto-renewal was on the selection page, it must be in fine print. Yes, my bad. Sittercity is a predatory business that relies on customers signing up for what they think is a limited time frame of access to their program. Customers then realize that they are being charged or have been charged multiple times without their consent. When contacting the customer service department their trained response is to say that the customer signed up for a recurring service in the fine print. Trust me, there is no place where that information is prominently EXPLAINED. I actually called them on the day that I noticed the charge on my bank account, which was still "processing." They refused to refund the charge, though I was able to cancel my subscription. While they may not legally have to notify you that they are billing you, this is the ethical, transparent way to conduct a subscription-based or renewing-policy-based business. Examples: Amazon Prime, Netflix, most likely your car insurance provider, etc., send an email to let you know that your policy or subscription is due to auto-renew. Sittercity's business model is deplorable and to to do this during the pandemic is unconscionable.
I have tried to cancel my membership several times. I even disputed the charges with Amex but Sittercity can't find my account but they can keep charging me. HORRIBLE! DISGUSTING COMPANY! A TOTAL RIP OFF!

The site is a scam. They will take your CC # and run it monthly even if you sign up for one month. There are no good providers on this site. It was a huge waste of time and money.

Answer: Well I would be very careful if you haven't met the family or even meeting a family online or from craigslist. It best to work for a reputable agency that knows the clients, has their information and credit card on file. There are lots of scams going around.
