The company's reputation is significantly marred by persistent customer service issues and a frustrating return process. Many customers report long wait times and ineffective communication, leading to dissatisfaction and a lack of trust. While some reviews highlight the quality and comfort of the products, these positives are overshadowed by complaints regarding incorrect orders, inadequate support, and hidden fees related to returns. Overall, the sentiment reflects a growing frustration among customers who feel misled and undervalued, prompting them to seek alternatives from competitors known for better service.

Bought a pair of shoes and they did not fit at all, very small sizing, so I had to return them. I decided to buy local with the problems in sizing by manufacturers. Got to shoes.com to return no problem to return subject to an RMA restock fee, have yet to get a refund and its over their 5 business days, not a good company with some poor policies. You can avoid the RMA fee by buying another pair of shoes.
I returned a pair of shoes that were too small. shoes.com sent them back stating they were not put in original box AND skuffing on shoe partly right. There wasn't a single skuff mark on the shoes. I never even wore them. I will never shop here again!
I had returned a pair of shoes to the address on the invoice in the box that came with the shoes, for which I paid the shipping.
After confirming they were delivered via tracking #, but I received no refund, I pulled out a copy of the invoice to call the number to inquire. That's when I 1st learned the company that shipped the shoes to me, put someone else's invoice from a different store, a different shoe, and DIFFERENT ADDRESS into my box. Who then had MY invoice? So I called Shoe.com hoping they would help to resolve the issue, which was no fault of mine. I spoke with a supervisor who basically said, "well, there's nothing we can do about our shipper giving you the wrong invoice with your shoes, you'll have to call the company where the shoes were delivered and get them back". Terrible service in my opinion. After I finally tracked them down to the company they were inadvertently sent to, (they were wonderful) sent me back my shoes, I sent him back to shoes.com who say they have "free returns" charged me a $7 "restocking fee". I buy everything online from reputable sites. I will no longer shop at shoes.com.
Every purchase I have made was handled and shipped quickly. If you sign up for the site's reward program than you get an extra 5 dollars off every 100 points on top of the 25-30% off depending on the promotion at the time. They are constantly changing their promotions so I usually wait for the 30% off to make a purchase. Every once in a while i'll see a $20 off $60 which is a little better than the 30% which comes out to $19 and change. Overall i've made 5 orders from them and they all went smoothly.
I purchased two pairs of shoes from this company. I will keep the more expensive pair and need to return the cheaper pair since they do NOT have arch support. The web site AND emails I received stated that I need to repack the shoes in the original box and use the return label they are sending. A MONTH LATER I am STILL waiting for the label. I have requested the label FOUR TIMES and still NO label! WHAT does it take to get the f**king label?
I received flyers in the mail from this company for 25 or 30% off. Also every time you go to their website there is an advertisement across the top of the page stating they have a percentage off with a code. It only says brand exclusions apply but will not specify which brands. Apparently it is EVERY brand that they sell because nothing I ever have in my cart will qualify for any promotions. I understand some expensive brands cannot have discounts applied, but I even tried to purchase a $25 belt one time and the discount would not apply to it either. I don't know why they advertise for sales that they never intend to give you. Very annoying
You'd be much better off finding an online shoe company who does not charge a restock fee. Most don't. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes in the wrong size, not knowing this brand runs small. It's not like there's a true way to read a size chart on shoes. It's definitely different from clothes. I was hoping to exchange but one pair isn't available in my correct size so if I don't exchange them and return instead then I'm charged $6.95 as a restock fee for each pair. Give me a break! It's shoes, not a pallet of bricks or a custom order. Here's the kicker if I want to exchange them instead I have to first purchase the exchanging items, they charge my card again. Once they get my return then they credit my account for the original purchase. Sounds like an opportunity for them to come up with some random excuse of not refunding to entire original purchase amount. Or who knows, Still charging me the "restock" fee. Then me running around trying to get it refunded. They make it too complicated and all about making as much extra dollars as they can. I should have followed my gut the first time I hit the purchase button online. Two times they locked down my money in my account for 3 days but there was no order accepted. I had to call them and ask them to release my money. I will never use this company again! Seems too shady
I received my wear in time but the packaging was damaged. But possibly it happened in transit. But my order was great.
I ordered 2 pairs of shoes because of availability & price. They arrived via UPS in shoeboxes in bags. They did not fit so I got a Return Authorization from the company & followed the instruction in the email they sent me. UPS said both pairs were received by Shoes.com. I called to ask about my credit and they told me that I did not put the shoe boxes in a return box and the shoe box was damaged. I replied that they should have gotten a credit from UPS. They probably did but they also only returned $30.00 of a $170.00 order.
Do not do business with these LIARS & CHEATS. They should be locked up & sent back to where they came from. I did not speak to anyone who speaks or understands English well. So much for tolerance.
Customer service is very poor, and you can almost see them setting a timer when they go to talk to their supervisor and come back on to say they can't help. I wanted to exchange a Chaco for a different size. They have both the size I need and the size I have, so they have not lost any sales due to my having a shoe since late October which I purchased for a Christmas gift. They have a 60 day return policy which I didn't realize and is much less than most places. I had the shoes for 66 days. Their Holiday return policy is 90 days but starts on November 1. I offered to pay shipping both ways, Still nothing. Then they offered me a $5 credit which would have brought the wrong size sandals down to $72. It it's me I make a concession for the customer and do an even exchange rather than lose their business which they can see has been frequent. I would rather pay more at Zappos than ever deal with this company again. Apparently they don't publish their poor reviews, so their 4.5 star rating is fraudulent.
I special ordered a pair for vacation. Paid 2 day air on 17th. Well it's the 22 and still not here. Left for vacation today so i told ups to return to seller. They are trying to charge a restock fee and not refunding the shipping cost.
I called Customer Service 3 hours after I placed my order, to make and change, and they said that they were unable to make the change. I called back later, to ask to speak to a Supervisor, but none were available.
If you feel as though you might need any assistance from Customer Service, consider all possibilities before you place your order with Shoes.com!!
I purchased a known brand bootie which is true to size. The bootie, ran large. I was not aware of the $6.95 restocking fee. You cannot print the return label from an ipad. I had to wait an extra 7 days for the return label to be mailed to my house. No return instructions in the shoe box. Have to use UPS. I just want my money returned.
This company rips people off.
A small two inch damage to a shoe box makes customers ineligible for a refund! I Lost $65 to $70 because of miniscule scratch that they claim the merchandise could not be resold. They need to take their business model guidance from Amazon! Pathetic company nearly insolvent and ripping people off to make up the difference.!
I have purchased several pairs of shoes per year for myself and various family members at Shoes.com (formerly ShoeBuy.com) for many years and never had a problem before, presumably because I was ordering shoes that I was familiar with and knew exactly what size to get, and I ordered the same brands and styles repeatedly, so I never had to worry about returns or dealing with customer service. Recently, however, I ordered some very expensive orthotic shoes for both myself and my mother, and it was a nightmare. I did a lot of research before deciding which brand and style to order, and my decision was ultimately based on the information provided by Shoes.com as well as the glowing 4- and 5-star reviews. The website said that the shoes ran small and recommended ordering a larger size that you would normally wear, and reviews stated that they were only small in width, not length. I normally wear a 7 wide and my mother normally wears a 6, so I ordered a 7 extra wide for myself and a 6 wide for my mother. Mine were huge but I still drove 30 miles to drop off the other pair to my mother, hoping that hers would fit better. She had the same result but, rather than making a special trip to pick them up, and because Shoes.com makes such a big deal of their free returns and exchanges policy, I simply ordered another pair for myself in a 6.5 wide, thinking that I would return the other two pairs for a refund after my next visit to her, as she had decided that she didn't want another pair. The second pair that I had ordered for myself also turned out to be huge so I tried on the pair that I got back from her and they were also too big. Mind you, this pair was a full size smaller than I normally wear and they were still too big, even though Shoes.com said they run small. At that point, I just figured I would return all 3 pairs at their expense and the only thing I would have lost would be my time. They did send pre-paid return labels, but they charged me a total of $20.85 because the fine print buried deep in the website says that you have to pay a restocking fee of $6.95 for each pair that you return for a refund rather than exchanging. So much for the free returns and exchanges that they have plastered all over the website. But still, even though the restocking fees came as a shock, I accepted it and chalked it up to a lesson learned. But in order to hopefully prevent someone else from going through the same ordeal, I submitted a very respectful but detailed review... and it was never posted. A week later, I submitted a second review that was also not posted. Now I know why all the reviews are 4 and 5 stars... because Shoes.com refuses to post any review that might hurt their bottom line. It's sad really, because this was the only place that I have purchased shoes for so many years, and now I will never shop there again.
Sent me shoes that did not fit, then refused to refund me because the shoes were "worn". Of course, how can you tell if a shoes you buy on line will fit or not without actually wearing it? I urge anyone dealing with this crap company to stay away. If you have ordered from them you are likely already having a problem, so do what I did and file a complaint with your credit card company.
I was worried these adorable shoes would be uncomfortable since I have issues with my hammer toes. They are very pretty and I chose them to wear to my granddaughters wedding. To my surprise when I tried them on they were very comfortable right off. I Am so glad I gave them a try. I now have a pretty pair of blue dress heels for the wedding!
I ordered a pair of boots from Canada so I paid for shipping (as expected). The order came quickly but when I opened the box, the boots had creases across both toes like someone had been wearing them. I emailed shoes.com and sent photos and was told to ship them back for refund and they apologized. When they received them, they refused to re-emburse my return shipment costs even though they sent me faulty shoes and said i would be re-embursed. I emailed them multiple times. I had told them I would never have bothered returning the boots if they had told me they wouldnt re-emburse for the shipping and they said they were looking into it. They said this each time i emailed and always someone else emailing. They never re-embursed me. So for the $30 for the return shipment (plus original shipping costs) i ended up paying almost as much money in shipping as the boots cost and i have no boots. Never will I order again. And would nevvvveerr recommend to anyone. Terrible customer service, poor product and they are liars.
Found the boots that I wanted & shoes.com seemed to have the best price. I took the risk and ordered them. After I had ordered them I went to do a little research about the website and found ALOT of bad reviews on them. It made me pretty nervous because others were stating it took long to get, they got wrong shoes, or wrong sizes, or item was not as described. So I started checking my order everyday! I placed my order on Friday. Website states that they will notify you within 1-5 business days when order is completed and ship. I checked it everyday and it just says "processing". Then On Tuesday I received a noticed that my order has been shipped. It was literally delivered to my door step by Thursday evening. The boots are legit, I compared it to another one that I bought at the store but in a different color. Everything matches up.
All in All thank goodness my experience with them was nothing but good.
However I Can't help but think what if my NEXT order experience ends up like everyone else's.
Answer: Apparently they do not care. Not a real good omen for staying in business very long.
Answer: Stay away! I tried to make an exchange, and they charged me for the new shoes and then claimed that returned shoes were worn and damaged and wouldn't give me my money back. I wore them long enough to try them on and even then the shoes were so small and stiff that I couldn't get my feet into them! I asked the customer service "manager" (the 4th "manager" I spoke to) if we are allowed to try on the shoes and shes said "yes of course" to which I said then why do you consider what I did wearing them? She didn't have an answer. This is a scam to sell off damaged or defective merchandise. Stay away.
