Anual petrol service, quoted competitive price for service, Collection late.
During service Charged further 250.00 for oil surcharge, fuel treatment, engine fush and sevral other things if I had not shouted enough. The total had risen from 174.85 to 425.59, but they wanted ove 600.00.
Spoke to Dean who hood winks you into thinking you need all of the extras until you realise you are being scammed a very nasty man. Never again I will report them to trading standards,
Waste of time. Failed to book my car in. Useless. Booked with them weeks before my MOT expired. They confirmed my booking and 2 days before it was due to go in they emailed me saying they hadn't managed to book it. Hence I missed my mot and was without a car for 2 weeks. Total $#*!.
Ever wondered why a company doesn't have reviews on their page from customers? Service Stop hides behind what I can only imagine are fictitious reviews on Trust Pilot that still bring in business. I was charged for a full service and MOT, but when I challenged the "service advisor" who was trying to get me to part with a grand and constantly contradicting himself, he terminated the call with "have an amazing day" as he realised his tactics of persuasion wouldn't work with me.
My car was returned with no paperwork, and multiple chasers to the garage directly and Service Stop to provide the failed MOT and alleged full service ignored. Reported to Trading Standards & CAB and am recovering the funds for both through my bank as had to arrange another service and MOT today so I'm not driving illegally/have evidence that the vehicle is fully serviced.
I'll be sending a case to Trust Pilot with all the reviews i've found from customers who've found themselves in a similar position to mine and worse to understand how their reviews are in such contrast to the thousands of other reviews and customers groups set up on the back of their underhand dealings with this company. Sadly, I trusted Trust Pilot as I was up against it time wise.
Add on Google £85 new year sale service stop full service and I thought it's a good deal but what I get,£250 for Just engine oil and oil filter and full service what full service,£85 is only diagnostic fee and why car need diagnostic when it only needs oil and fluids change and top up
Having been pressured into paying for work to be done to my car after failing the MOT and service I booked with servicing plop, (I was told it was too dangerous to move from the forecourt), I paid £1700. Turns out that the majority of work I was charged for did not take place. An independent mechanic checked it over for me and took photos. I paid this much basically for 2 tyres! I've reported them to trading standards and will take them to court for theft if my refund is not processed within 7 days
I should have seen it coming
The one star is because they collected and delivered back as agreed, so not all is bad.
I booked a FULL SERVICE and got a change of oil and filter plus a phonecall asking me to spend hundreds of pounds due to several.advisories + engine flush, renew brakes oil, weld exhaust...and yes front tyres, which thankfully I had already booked somewhere else
Total cost for the full service shy of £200, Rip Off
Never Again
No, Thank you
A Bientot.
Feeling awful for being such an idiot
I received a reminder from the dealer that my Kona EV required a service. Soon after I received an unsolicited quote from Service Stop that I mistakenly thought was from my dealer. The price £186 was in line with what I expected and booked and paid up front (mistake). Shortly after I received a call asking if the collection day could be move one day to the right. I agreed and a confirmation came back and the cost had fallen to £ 171 for a full diesel service on my electric vehicle. When I called to correct the quote all I heard was an American female voice relaying a recorded message
I spoke to my dealer and he said I was the subject of fraud and anyway the fourth service on my car would cost £ 97. I managed to cancel the booking through their website and await a full refund.
They picked up my car and refused to bring it back till paid extra for synthetic oil. Then told me it needed brakes flushed? And was dangerous to drive? Refused, as knew it was now a scam! When l received the car back, l checked oil filter and oil. Neither had been touched, even though l paid extra. Went back to the garage, had them check, and apologised, claiming it was a mistake? When l asked about a brake flush, they said they found no problem? Nothing but a scam company.
Paid full service! No service done! Paid extra for synthetic oil! No oil change done! Only thing they did was damage my car when they changed a light bulb for £26! And MOT. They charged £239. Total work £44! These people are crooks!
Told me my car will be picked up monday between 08.00-10.00am only to just call me and tell there is only one place that can pick my car up, but it will have to be the 17th? What's all that about? Why tell me something different from the beginning when asking for payment? I did pay. But now I have to wait for a refund. NOT at all impressed.
I was told I would receive a list of what was done in the service and there would be pictures and video. I also want an explanation of what the original 100 pounds was for because that was supposed to cover the service yet I was charged another 570 pounds for the same service. 670 pounds for a basic service for which I have no evidence they even touched the car - the garage they used has no contact details too - stay well clear.
They totally scammed my sub which is a vulnerable adult. They suck you in with what seems like as good deal...them boof...they totally scam you with work that doesn't need doing, charging grossly overinflated prices. Someone put a so to this awful company, they should be totally ashamed of themselves. Do yourself a favour and keep well away from this awful company
Terrible, terrible service. Unbelievably expensive, loads of hidden charges (many of which are for things most garages include in their service as standard. £25+VAT for oil?!). Impossible to contact them by telephone once they've taken your car and they just keep finding more "essential" work and hitting you with more and more requests for payment. My MOT & service, quoted at £111 ended up costing over £1200. For a 10 year old Peugeot 107. I could have replaced the car for that! I usually expect to pay in the region of £150 - £200, depending on what work is required. Even factoring in the additional repair work I knew was required in the exhaust, the price was indefensible. Genuinely horrifying experience. Never again!
Didn't turn up twice. The phone number they issue is dead and rings out. No other phone numbers. The chat is manned by one person and takes 2 hours. Emails are not replied to. Simply take your money and run. Dodgy as anything. STAY WELL CLEAR!
I have booked for a full service and MOT today and paid online. Car get collected on time, nice and easy. 2 hours later I received a call from them,I have to pay £527 on top what I have paid online! I know for sure that nothing wrong with my car,it drives smoothly and never any issue. I have expected to pay more any way but not that much! For Engine flush?! Break fluid and filter cost that much. I regret my choice to go with their service online, should stick to what I knew. Never again dealing with them! Customer service doesn't answer your calls or they answered but hang up on you. We can communicate to anyone a person?! The only thing why I paid, obviously because I need my car back! Ripped Off! I will take this matter further.
Took 4 times to finally pick the car up over a period of 3.5 weeks. Messaged each time the evening before telling me it was going to be picked up, 4 mornings off work and had to hire a car because it was taking to long. Rude staff on the phone on 2 different occasions. And extremely poor communication all round. When ring me about the mot results he literally said it done but I don't know the results. Nir recommended! Stay away!
Booked service and MOT and paid online. No contact on day of pick up, 3 phone calls and no one spoke at 11.30, tried all the e-mail and telephone numbers supplied - no joy. Contacted by someone at 1.30, no apology but offering a date the following week, I cancelled and asked for a refund - still waiting. I must learn to read reviews first and if it seems to good to be true it usually is!
Full service paid for today checklist ticked on each box. Work not checked or carried out. Reason for booking in today was 1 head lamp out and 1 wiper blade hanging off. Despite ticking checklist my car was returned with both faults still there. £340 paid for work I will need verified as done tomorrow and Refund expected for charging me a full service check when clearly not done. Trading standards will be informed. Dangerous faults not checked or repaired reference number *******. Rogue traders!
Unfortunately I wish I'd read all the reviews! I'd be extremely surprised if you end up paying what your originally quoted. You will receive a call saying you owe more money to complete the service on your vehicle! Avoid using this company.
The driver arrived 45' late to collect the car. In the early afternoon, they asked for £240 of extra on top of the £100 agreed for the job, which I rejected (but had to pay £24.99 extra + VAT for the "higher grade engine oil", otherwise they would not have released the car...). They even tried to trick me into a prepaid next year's service upon checkout when I was invited to pay the extra amount for the oil. And then the garage (subcontractor) called me at 17:50 to tell me that they would not be available to bring the car back since they had been advised too late by Servicing Stop to release the car and all drivers were already gone. Epic fail. One thing is certain: I'll stop using their service... Sorry Servicing Stop. How is it even possible that companies like that are still in business in 2021? It's not the first time I'm disappointed by what seemed at first to be a great option. We should always read reviews... hopefully this one will help. Avoid this service.
This company are known scammers, garages do not wish to be associated with them.
I paid £94 online for a MOT and service, collect and drop off. After a mix up with dates they collected my car but refused to return it until I'd paid £135.59 extra for a engine flush, brake fluid and oil change. They basically held my car ransom even after I paid. Luckily I found the garage holding my car and they personally returned it which am very grateful for. They informed me that a the oil change was part of the service, a flush had not been requested and that they had told SS they were unable to complete the brake fluid so this work was not completed.
Since heard so many bad things about this company, please please save yourself the worry and stress. I had to report my car as stolen and heard nothing back from SS at all. Just glad the garage were helpful unlike some unlucky customers I got off lightly
Answer: Based on my experience it is a scam- avoid them. Pay a bit more and go direct to a reputable garage.
Answer: No need to feel stupid... I had to cough up £1544. 99 for an mot and a 40thousand mile service before They would return my car. I don't think I'll get any refund but have taken great pleasure in reporting them to Trading Standards, my credit card company, my bank, my neighbours, my relations and others and anyone who wants to listen. If I can think of anybody else that will stop them doing this to others I'll gladly report to them as well.
Answer: Not recently based on this week no I am afraid I cant
Answer: You can't. Literally. Automated online chat. You can email them but you'll get auto emails there too
