My car was not delivered to me on the day i cannot express my utter dissatisfaction with their service the garage said they instructed them not to deliver my car payment was made by 1700 hours their office first tried to contact me at 1625 and at 1633. I called their office back at 1635 and a message came across that they would call me back. My call logs show that they returned my call at 1656 and requested payment for further work i told their representative that i am driving at that moment and would make payment as soon as i can stop. I made payment at 5.01pm, i have online proof of payment i contacted the garage and they later said they did not clear my car and thereafter informed me that they damaged my alloy wheels on their ramp. I feel their service is provided by cowboys and they are not to be trusted. Failure to deliver my car inconvenienced me immensely DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE
I booked my car for a service was to be picked up on 17 th July No show, was rebooked for today 22nd July once again no show, I had prepaid and was informed that i would get a refund in 3-5 working days, funny it does not take them that long to debit your account, If you want the run around please use this company
Anual petrol service, quoted competitive price for service, Collection late.
During service Charged further 250.00 for oil surcharge, fuel treatment, engine fush and sevral other things if I had not shouted enough. The total had risen from 174.85 to 425.59, but they wanted ove 600.00.
Spoke to Dean who hood winks you into thinking you need all of the extras until you realise you are being scammed a very nasty man. Never again I will report them to trading standards,
Ever wondered why a company doesn't have reviews on their page from customers? Service Stop hides behind what I can only imagine are fictitious reviews on Trust Pilot that still bring in business. I was charged for a full service and MOT, but when I challenged the "service advisor" who was trying to get me to part with a grand and constantly contradicting himself, he terminated the call with "have an amazing day" as he realised his tactics of persuasion wouldn't work with me.
My car was returned with no paperwork, and multiple chasers to the garage directly and Service Stop to provide the failed MOT and alleged full service ignored. Reported to Trading Standards & CAB and am recovering the funds for both through my bank as had to arrange another service and MOT today so I'm not driving illegally/have evidence that the vehicle is fully serviced.
I'll be sending a case to Trust Pilot with all the reviews i've found from customers who've found themselves in a similar position to mine and worse to understand how their reviews are in such contrast to the thousands of other reviews and customers groups set up on the back of their underhand dealings with this company. Sadly, I trusted Trust Pilot as I was up against it time wise.
Waste of time. Failed to book my car in. Useless. Booked with them weeks before my MOT expired. They confirmed my booking and 2 days before it was due to go in they emailed me saying they hadn't managed to book it. Hence I missed my mot and was without a car for 2 weeks. Total $#*!.
Add on Google £85 new year sale service stop full service and I thought it's a good deal but what I get,£250 for Just engine oil and oil filter and full service what full service,£85 is only diagnostic fee and why car need diagnostic when it only needs oil and fluids change and top up
Having been pressured into paying for work to be done to my car after failing the MOT and service I booked with servicing plop, (I was told it was too dangerous to move from the forecourt), I paid £1700. Turns out that the majority of work I was charged for did not take place. An independent mechanic checked it over for me and took photos. I paid this much basically for 2 tyres! I've reported them to trading standards and will take them to court for theft if my refund is not processed within 7 days
I should have seen it coming
The one star is because they collected and delivered back as agreed, so not all is bad.
I booked a FULL SERVICE and got a change of oil and filter plus a phonecall asking me to spend hundreds of pounds due to several.advisories + engine flush, renew brakes oil, weld exhaust...and yes front tyres, which thankfully I had already booked somewhere else
Total cost for the full service shy of £200, Rip Off
Never Again
No, Thank you
A Bientot.
Feeling awful for being such an idiot
I received a reminder from the dealer that my Kona EV required a service. Soon after I received an unsolicited quote from Service Stop that I mistakenly thought was from my dealer. The price £186 was in line with what I expected and booked and paid up front (mistake). Shortly after I received a call asking if the collection day could be move one day to the right. I agreed and a confirmation came back and the cost had fallen to £ 171 for a full diesel service on my electric vehicle. When I called to correct the quote all I heard was an American female voice relaying a recorded message
I spoke to my dealer and he said I was the subject of fraud and anyway the fourth service on my car would cost £ 97. I managed to cancel the booking through their website and await a full refund.
The incident involved Stop Servicing Ltd and a garage appointed by Servicing Stop to carry out my job operating at the address Raynes Way, Broughton St, Manchester, M8 8NN.
On the 21/05/2024 I paid in advance for servicing and MOT on the 24/05/2024 with Servicing Stop. I was then provided with a most bizarre document which was neither an Invoice nor a proforma, with the nr *******. It contained what I had already paid for, and the estimate for a series of work, including several I did not wish to be quoted for, and contained no data for the company: address, VAT nr, or even business name. The document provided by the garage entrusted with my job, appointed by Servicing Stop and operating at the address Raynes Way, Broughton St, Manchester, M8 8NN amounted to a total of £1,040.59. When I requested to be provided with an invoice for the services I had paid for in advance and a separate proforma for the remedial works to render the vehicle roadworthy and pass the MOT, I was denied this. As a consequence, I could not proceed with the MOT and had to request that my car be returned to me and seek the services of another garage, incurring in extra costs for MOT and remedial works with this second garage, but also in loss of earnings of one day I had to spend chasing the proforma and the invoice, as well as on a hire vehicle to commute to work for a week (the MOT expired before a long weekend and the garage with the earliest availability I could find only had a slot for the following Wednesday, and they didn't have the vehicle ready until the following Saturday).
The MOT and Service costs amounted to £ 162.20. That plus the additional cost of £ 167.96 spent in hire vehicles required to commute to work after failing to obtain the MOT renewal with Stop Servicing Ltd, plus £109 for loss of earnings for the day I had to take off as annual leave to chase a quote added up to £ 439.16 in total losses.
Told me my car will be picked up monday between 08.00-10.00am only to just call me and tell there is only one place that can pick my car up, but it will have to be the 17th? What's all that about? Why tell me something different from the beginning when asking for payment? I did pay. But now I have to wait for a refund. NOT at all impressed.
They picked up my car and refused to bring it back till paid extra for synthetic oil. Then told me it needed brakes flushed? And was dangerous to drive? Refused, as knew it was now a scam! When l received the car back, l checked oil filter and oil. Neither had been touched, even though l paid extra. Went back to the garage, had them check, and apologised, claiming it was a mistake? When l asked about a brake flush, they said they found no problem? Nothing but a scam company.
Paid full service! No service done! Paid extra for synthetic oil! No oil change done! Only thing they did was damage my car when they changed a light bulb for £26! And MOT. They charged £239. Total work £44! These people are crooks!
"Booked car in for its 1st service. Ford Puma, 20 months old, 17,000 miles. Collection went well, that's where it ends. Had a call from Gary Needham at Servicing Stop. He talks at a million miles an hour, telling me I needed air pollen filter, specialist low ash oil (NOT recommended for my petrol engine) full brake fluid flush (otherwise warranty would be invalidated-total lie and unnecessary for th the age of my car) and loads of other work for the service to be completed, totalling £500.
I refused the work, then motor mouth Gary became angry Gary, telling me I must have the brake fluid flushed or the service could not be completed. I reluctantly agreed and he sent an invoice. £156 for a brake fluid change, same service is advertised at Kwik Fit & Halfords for £49.99. I called back to query the massively inflated price, to be told that the work had already been completed and my car would not be returned until I paid. I asked to speak to a managed as Gary was being so aggressive. He told me all management were in a meeting until 5.30pm. I needed the car back so had no option but to pay up.
They brag on their website that Servicing Stop have appeared on Dragons Den, they don't tell you that they have also featured on Rip Off Britain, BBC Watchdog and had a scathing write up in The Guardian newspaper. I hope this bunch of rob dogs get shut down soon.
Beware of reviews on other sites that don't ask for proof of service, loads of fake 5* reviews that have exactly the same format.
Avoid! Total Scam! These people are not mechanics! They deliver your car to a mechanic who is local to you! They make money off inflated extras. Ie drain brakes should be £50 they charge £596!
Booked in my service. Paid in advance. After they've had the car 2 hours they call and say they need to various things like drain the braking system at a cost of £596 and some other things. In total including what I'd paid previously they wanted approx £900.
Land rover only charge £550 all in for the same service.
These people are trying their luck and they are rude on the phone when you challenge them.
They try to bully you to spend the money and threaten your car won't work properly, say you now haven't had a service which you've paid for and say you need specialist oil and hold the car until you pay something as a minimum.
They told me I now hadn't had a service and I would have to pay more. There was paperwork left in my car with a mechanics details. I contacted the garage and they told me they had completed the service and everything was fine.
This company do NO work, they are a 3rd party office based outfit who arrange for your car to go to a local mechanic then give you hyper inflated prices to do work.
It is disgusting and they are attempting to take advantage of people because they have your car and you rely on your car and want it to be Ok.
I recorded the calls and the guy on the phone ( Marcus) kept calling me blud all the time. So unprofessional and totally rude.
After speaking with the garage my car had been fully serviced and Marcus had been lying to try to push me to spend more money than was actually needed. The garage said the £596 would be around & 50 if I went to them direct. Absolutey vile!
Just had a service today i payed £149 up front and before thay let me have my car i had to pay
£251 more for extra work i should have been told and could have said no and no had the extra work
I was told I would receive a list of what was done in the service and there would be pictures and video. I also want an explanation of what the original 100 pounds was for because that was supposed to cover the service yet I was charged another 570 pounds for the same service. 670 pounds for a basic service for which I have no evidence they even touched the car - the garage they used has no contact details too - stay well clear.
I've got a 2.0 A1 competition 4.0. I put it in for a full service and MOT. It was driving absolutely fine and had no engine lights or errors on it prior to going into the garage.
I've just been invoiced this: REMOVE & REFIT: WINDSCREEN WIPER - BLADE/S (MOT FAIL) £145.00
RENEW: BRAKE FLUID (SERVICE ADVISORY) £140.00
INVESTIGATE: ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT (SERVICE ADVISORY) £265.00
REMOVE & REFIT: SHOCK ABSORBER/DAMPER (ONE) (REAR SUSP.) LEFT (MOT FAIL) £667.88
PERFORM: LIFETIME FUEL TREATMENT AND ENGINE FLUSH (SERVICE ADVISORY) £135.00
When a driver brought the car back from the garage where the work was actually done he had no idea about all these charges and said they were not from the garage but were from servicing stop
I booked my car in for full service with a "prepaid" quote of £170. It was discounted by 25% if I paid upfront, I was not told at any point that extra charges would apply, the pick up was very punctual, but things went downhill from there, I received a call from SS stating that my vehicle needed special oil and the old oil flushing out, and that a number of other filters needed replacing, I was then told the quote was over £400, I was not impressed and a very reluctant conversation took place, I eventually agreed to them charging me an extra £30 for the oil, what did I pay the £170 for? The vehicle was returned with no issues… This is the first and last time I use SS as they should be transparent from the start based on your vehicle make, model age mileage about the cost of a service, they should be able to quote this in the original enquiry and not when they have the vehicle in the garage!
I was charged £200 for MOT and fully service guess what had call saying £1600 with of jobs so I refused told them return my car.
Biggest mistake I made never again
This is the first time doing business with them and it is the last time as well. Ridiculously overpriced to fix a small problem. Ask for £700 to change one coil spring of a Honda Jazz which cost £54 from eurocarparts. Also missed the delivery time without any contact. Also the car seems having extra problem with the brake after they refilled the brake fiuild and now I have to spend extra money to ask other garage ro check it again. TOTALLY NOT RECOMMENDED.
Answer: Based on my experience it is a scam- avoid them. Pay a bit more and go direct to a reputable garage.
Answer: No need to feel stupid... I had to cough up £1544. 99 for an mot and a 40thousand mile service before They would return my car. I don't think I'll get any refund but have taken great pleasure in reporting them to Trading Standards, my credit card company, my bank, my neighbours, my relations and others and anyone who wants to listen. If I can think of anybody else that will stop them doing this to others I'll gladly report to them as well.
Answer: Not recently based on this week no I am afraid I cant
Answer: You can't. Literally. Automated online chat. You can email them but you'll get auto emails there too
