Sephora's reputation is mixed, with customers praising the variety of products and the enticing in-store experience. However, significant dissatisfaction arises from frequent issues related to order fulfillment, shipping delays, and unresponsive customer service. Many international buyers report frustrations over lost items and inadequate support, while others express disappointment with the return policy and perceived lack of accountability. Overall, the feedback suggests a need for Sephora to enhance its customer service approach and shipping reliability to maintain loyalty and address growing competition in the beauty retail sector.

Awful! I've order 6 lip oil and only got five and a $#*!ty lip liner I've never ordered, texted costumer service according to the agent and the supervisor who assisted me they can't refund or ship again the item because I use a forwarding company which is insane and pretty convenient for whoever packs and order and decides what items to send...I've never had an issue with the company I use, I've been doing business with them for 6 years now, I've been ordering from Sephora for almost 2 yrs if not. While this year only I've spent more than $2,5k ( you can imagine how many little $150 order packages I've received so far and never had a issue until now) and I can't get my item or my $35 back. PRETTY WILD. Never ordering again. For all international buyers be advise, your entire order can be missing and they take no responsibility even when it's their fault like in this case. STAY AWAY IF YOU'RE INTL BUYER.
I am extremely dissatisfied with Sephora's service. I placed an order and chose to have it shipped to a freight forwarding address.
Unfortunately, the delivery company used,
Veho, abandoned my package on the street in poor conditions, as evidenced by the attached photo. Despite my attempts to contact Veho, I received no response. Sephora's policy does not provide any accommodations for issues with freight forwarding addresses, which has left me with lost products and no resolution.
The lack of accountability from both Sephora and the delivery company is unacceptable. I am now out $150 and have no way to recover my products or get a refund. I would strongly advise against using Sephora's service, especially if you plan to use freight forwarding.
Their customer service has been unhelpful, and the delivery partner they use is unreliable
Sephora's delivery service left much to be desired. My order arrived weeks late, and the products were damaged beyond recognition. Attempts to contact customer service were futile, as they seemed disinterested in resolving the issue. Sephora, if you want to keep customers coming back, you need to improve your shipping reliability.
I purchased $161.18 worth of merchandise sometime ago and still have not received it. I contacted Sephora and found out the carrier still has not picked up the package. I asked them to cancel the order and they claimed they are unable to do so. Sephora should NEVER have promotions if they cannot handle the volume. I will Never purchase anything from them again.
Sephora is my go-to destination for all things beauty. The store offers a vast selection of makeup, skincare, haircare, and fragrance products from top brands, as well as exclusive Sephora collections. I appreciate the knowledgeable staff who are always available to offer personalized recommendations and advice. The rewards program offers additional savings and perks for frequent shoppers.
Treatment of customers at…
Terrible treatment of customers at Sephora. They reeled me in to make a purchase of products with an offer of a reward and then due to application of a membership code the total came 7 PENNIES under and they didn't send the reward. Unlike other honest sites, nowhere was this highlighted during the checkout, and there is no redress from the company and really poor response from what they laughingly call customer service. Since Feelunique has been bought by Americans the treatment of customers went down the hill, and fast. I will not purchase another item from Sephora, either online or in a physical store.
The worst customer service at Sephora Coconut Creek at Kohl's, the saleswomen do not pay attention to the customer's needs and treat customers like fools, they laugh among themselves to say that they do not have the product and do not give you options for something similar, I buy a lot at Sephora online, but sometimes I stop at the store, which I will never do again with such terrible customer service. They should train those workers so they know how to treat customers properly.
Instead of a lip balm it really looks like a vape im not sure if it is one but i do really want to hit it
On December 30th 2023 I received an email that my package was delivered from sephora., upon checking for my package it was missing, I called Sephora customer service to let them know I didn't receive the package and that I lived in an apartment complex and they need to ring my doorbell which they didn't, the representative was so rude, she told me it's my duty to check with the shipping company to know when when my package is gonna arrive and that she's gonna give me the benefit of the doubt by replacing the item, that was so disrespectful and inappropriate
This was my first time shopping with Sephora, and I was so excited to receive the FORVR candles that I purchased as a Christmas gift to my wife"she loves scented candles" when the packets arrived I was ecstatic, but when I open the package I was mortified and so disappointed to say the least my dreams of a perfect Christmas went down the chimney. The candles were shattered and glass fell all in my carpet I pray I was able to get it all up. And it's to late to order something else because it would never arrive by Christmas Day
Worst customer experience, First they send my package to my local Post mail service which forced me to walk in a snow storm to grab my package. Only to find out that they send me an empty box. After contacting their costumer service three time. I was told that a refund or a replacement was not going to be offered to me. Not only did I lost my girlfriend present. I will lost some precious time dealing with them. I will never order from them again and tell everyone the bad experience that I had
Sephora sells full retail items that you can buy directly from vendor online with a discount. In this case Murad products they have some online at 20% off but Sephora does not honor their promotions.
Tried to order through the Sephora app… The order goes through but then gets cancelled 2 minutes later for "Unsuccessful Authorization". Apparently they needed to verify my information. Fair enough. I really wanted to order from this company because my girlfriend loves Sephora.
Spoke with 2 different Sephora reps via chat and 2 other reps via phone… Verified my info every single time, and no matter what happens, my order gets cancelled.
It has now been over a week, and I've spent over 3 hours of my time wasted just trying to place an order!
Opened a service ticket through email… The Sephora customer support rep tells me to call their toll free number. I've already done that TWICE!
After informing the rep that I've already called twice, they unapologetically tell me to call the toll free number, basically ignoring the fact that I've called twice already. No effort whatsoever from anyone at Sephora to help me, other than just repeating "call the toll free number".
Awful, AWFUL experience. I will never ever buy from this company ever again. This is the absolute worst shopping / customer experience I've ever had.
Customer service are not professional, nice or have good presentation anymore. I encourage to buy online rather than go to the store.
I returned products on 7/14/23. It is now 9/10/23. I am hoping this nightmare is coming to an end. I returned products and was still told I owed money even though I had no products since they were returned. They say they can not see purchases made in store when you call the Sephora line for help the 866 number. Some how they email you to ask you to review it online, but they have no record? The store manager did let me take a picture of the computer screen bc she new I was having issues with their awful company. They turned me into the credit bureau even though I received a letter saying not to pay my bill due to a pending dispute. They then turned me into the credit bureau's. My credit score dropped over a hundred points. I called Comenity bank of Sephora. Ha, they owe me money! Oh, but my credit will be effected for 45 days because they can not remove it. It should have never been reported according to their letter telling me NOT TO PAY IT. Of course they are all so sorry. You would think they could see that as a long time customer that I ALWAYS paid my bill in full on time. Lesson learned. You could not pay me to step foot in that place. My credit score is messed up bc THEY OWE ME MONEY. Horrible customer service. I spent around 2-3 hours a week for almost two months and it's still not over. I would think twice before shopping here. I also saw there are many other people this has happened to as well. I finally got the Better Business Bureau involved. I don't care if they are giving stuff away, I will not go near this scandalous place. I will hopefully get my check for the money they owe me and since they messed with my credit and my time I will let people know what can possibly happen to them. I would advise to purchase at another store and if you shop here pay attention to your account.
I have been trying to contact them for months about a return I made in July which wasn't refunded.
They have just responded saying "it wasn't returned in a resellable condition".
THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE. The product, including the box it arrived in, was completely unopened.
The only reason I can think of is that the product came wrapped in a little cling film which I may have not replaced (I don't remember) or I may have sent it back in a different packaging box. Either way, these are not legal reasons to withhold a refund - the actual product purchased was unopened and resellable.
They have stolen £30 from me. Their policy also says they don't need to return it for health and safety reasons. This beggars belief, the product was UNOPENED.
This company is an absolute disgrace and a scam. Please avoid, they are unethical and an utter disgrace. They shouldn't be allowed to be doing business.

Sephora has truly earned its reputation as a beauty haven, and my recent experience shopping there was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I entered the store, I was greeted by an array of enticing beauty products that immediately piqued my interest. What I appreciate most about Sephora is their commitment to offering a wide range of brands and products. Whether you're a makeup enthusiast, skincare aficionado, or fragrance lover, Sephora has something for everyone. It's like stepping into a treasure trove of beauty possibilities.
It's great you can choose from some samples and trial sizes with online purchases so you can try products you're interested in to see if it works for you or not. Shipping has always been pretty good. Nevertheless, I continued to look for an alternative to this site to get my favorite tretinoin. So happy I found it, just google 'Topa2get' to find a website with a lot of products with cheaper prices. Amazing service! Ordered Friday & delivered at 11am Monday. Can't ask for better than that.
I made a purchase at a Sephora store in a local mall which is 17 miles from my home on a recent shopping day. After taking off the factory wrapped seal I noticed my product was defective and I could not use. Just recently the Kohl which is 5 minutes from my house opened a Sephora. Thinking no problem I can return it at the Sephora inside Kohl's. WRONG the Sephora employee was very pleasant in explaining the Sephora return policy when a purchase is made at a store in the mall and a mini store inside Kohl's. She did have the product but insisted I drive the 17 miles for the return which makes no common sense to me. Today I called Sephora headquarters and talked to customer service. The very rude employee could not get me off the phone fast enough and offered me Sephora points. Well you know what you could do with your points because I have no need for them now YOU LOST A CUSTOMER over something so simple.
Answer: There are a ton of great moisturizing and anti-aging products out there to help you. Sephora has so many that your head will spin, but there are also a lot of drugstore alternatives that are rated just as highly (or better) than a lot of higher-end ones. I would do some research online before ever stepping foot into a store like Sephora (trust me - they will bombard you with very expensive things you don't need). Honestly, I really like Ulta as a store better than Sephora because they carry both drugstore, middle-end, and higher-end products. (MUCH better service, too) But before you go anywhere, Google things like "best anti-aging products for mature skin" or things like that. Using multiple products, such as a glycolic toner, a serum, as well as a moisturizer is a good idea. One thing that is FANTASTIC for wrinkles and dark spots is Retin-A, but you have to get a prescription for it and it is harsh on your skin (especially if you're sensitive). It literally kills off your top layer of skin (which leads to a very annoying period of your face peeling for a few weeks), but once you get over the growing pains, your skin is amazing. I was diagnosed with melasma, which is hyperpigmentation of the skin, on my face, so my doctor gave me Retin-A and hydroquinone, which really works at fading dark spots. If you can't afford the Retin-A (mine is over $200 a tube), there are a lot of great OTC products that contain retinol and work well, just not like the Rx version. Neutrogena has a great line of products for dark spots and wrinkles. But like I said, do your research and don't let sales reps push you into really expensive products, because they get a commission, and you may get stuck with a bad product and an empty wallet. Hope this helps!
Answer: This is Sephora's list of current promo codes. They should always be valid - whether you get them to actually give you what they're supposed to is always a gamble. To get a birthday promo, you have to join their Beauty Insiders club. It's free - just go to their website.
Answer: Yes. I have to take Care of my skin in every routine when my acne appears
Answer: Yes! They have a VERY liberal return policy. You can try most products in store, as well. But, if you do buy something that you don't agree with, for any reason, don't worry. They exchange easily. I always use Sephora.com... never have had a problem returning for any reason whatsoever.
