I had so much happen in the past 2 years all kinds of craziness. I have 3 cameras and no footage of any of the many, many events.
I purchased a ring about a year ago. Two weeks ago it failed.(not detecting motion)They sent me a new one, The new one is doing the exact same thing the old one was doing. NOT detecting motion they told me I needed to upgrade purchase a better unit.? Did not offer me any discounts or anything they just directed me to buy a better more expensive unit than the basic that I bought..
The people answering this line know almost nothing about ring operations and or products/services. Third party, totally scripted individuals so uninformed, that it's unbelievably unacceptable.
I purchased a ring camera, for my front and backyard at my previous address. In the beginning the camera would work fine, then all of a sudden the representative is telling me it's my Internet. Moved from my previous location, and my community installed a ring doorbell, again works fine in the beginning, after a few days the internet goes out. The representative at ring says it might be that the router is not close to the doorbell, this is the reason it's not connecting to the wifi. I say, buyer beware!
Trash. Disconnects often. I have other wifi dedicated hardware. Ring is the only hardware that has disconnection issues.
We have had ring doorbells for years. When we recently bought a new house it came with an existing ring setup but it was registered to the previous owners. Reaching out to customer service to get it switched to us has been a nightmare. First time calling they said that we would have to wait 15 days for ring's request to the previous owner and if no response then they could change it over to us. We waited and called them back and it didnt work. They tried again and said wait another 15 days. After that time it STILL didnt work and they once again just said the same thing. It has now been 45 days and it still didnt work. Customer service is useless
Don't buy Ring Doorbell. This product has known flaws by the company, and they refuse to do anything to fix the product. Do not buy Ring Doorbell if you live in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Parts of New York, Iowa, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Alaska, All Canada, Upper Illinois, Ohio, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and anywhere else in the world where the temperature gets cold. 10 Degree or colder and Ring Doorbell will not work. I called Ring Doorbell and they said their batteries do not work in the cold and they refuse to do anything to address the problem. They tell you your just out of luck wait until the temperature warms up and the Ring Doorbell should work again. Also, the battery should charge when wired to your old doorbell, but it doesn't. Ring doorbell says you must bring the battery inside and charge the battery because it won't charge if hard wired to your existing doorbell. What a poorly designed product. Ring Doorbell should be held accountable for selling a known defective and poor product that they know will not work if it gets cold. They should not be allowed to sell the product in any of the states listed above since they know the product will not work when it gets cold. Ring Doorbell are criminals and need to be held accountable for selling products that they know will not work.
I purchased a small tune, ($5.00) of grease that is electrically conducive at the auto parts store. I Placed a small amount on the transformer plugs and then placed them back together. It has been working fine. I realized that the transformer on the side of my home is in the garage and have had no problem but this camera was exposed to rain on the back of the home. The transformer box (battery box, even though it is plugged into outlet) is not waterproof as it should be.
I am now on my 3rd replacement camera. It works on the ring.com but not on app. I have called at least 6 times and am told it is escalated but never hear back. They say they will contact me and never happens. They keep saying they will send me a replacement, which is not acceptable as this is the 3 time I have replaced the camera. Why work on. Com but not on app? Also, I have one other camera and a ring door bell and not had any problems.
Absolutely the worst. I am military personnel going off to training who sought Ring for the first time to protect my home. I couldn't even begin to describe the amount of repeated issues and poor customer service received. I am truly amazed. From missing package items, receiving the wrong order, managers pretending like the contacted me when requesting help, but instead receiving no missed calls and an email notice stating they tried contacting me. Unprofessionalism, everywhere in the company's network. Ring, is also not cheap. Very dissatisfied, never again.
I have had 6 cameras hooked up for several years now. One camera is now offline and won't connect to my wifi. My signal is strong and have even done a master reset. Still doesn't work. I have contacted customer service and they keep telling me it's my wifi. My wifi can hold 12 devices. It's ring and there $#*!ty product. I didn't have any problems untill the last update.
I would rate Ring doorbell zero star.The purpose of purchasing ring was to be able to see life you automatically on all my devices when the doorbell was rang and I did not need to push the notification and confirmed to view who is behind the door but with the changes ring made without notifying the whole system is garbage and not useable.
I had issues with my out of warranty ring cam camera. The tech guy, Jeff worked with me for about an hour. He determined the camera was faulty. They are not only sending me a new camera but reimbursement to have handyman reinstall, credit for my monitoring fee for the rest of this year and credit a full for next year. I've never had a technology company make me so happy. I'm a fan of Ring for life
Had for 3 weeks did every thing as intended. Some one rings bell an no video no live view. It seems they whant you keep buying wifi extenders an say it your wifi provider. Every thing wifi works in the house as it should never any problems. An yes moved the roughtor next to the ring. Save your money!
Ring is totally unreliable. Forgot my password and they refuse to send me a reset email for a new password. It has never been reliable and constantly crashes. What a rip off.
You purchase their product create an account but they will not give you access to your account unless you submit to them having complete control over your account. Who's account is it mine or theirs? Apparently its theirs because they will not let me verify its me without pushing the button on their device. Which i can't do because I do not work from my house. All i want is to set up the app on my new phone but I can't unless I hit the button on the doorbell, I'm not home how am I gonna hit the button? That's why I got the doorbell. So I could see who hit the doorbell when I'm not home.
Very excited to get my Ring security camera. Hired an electrician to install it, was advised to put it at the top of my roof line to avoid tampering from criminals. App couldn't join the Ring Setup network. Customer Support advised only fix is to get ladder, climb 30 feet up and hold some button on the camera for 20 seconds. Don't have a 30 foot ladder, don't like heights, electrician wants 250.00 to come back and hold button for 20 seconds! Ring sucks, don't buy! Very dis-satisfied!
I ordered the Chime and Ring doorbell wired. They didn't come together. I'm still waiting for tracking info on the doorbell. I could have went to the store. Express shipping is a Joke. Never again
If I could give no stars I would. I have been having trouble with my front camera that's on solar. It stopped charging, and sometimes it showed it was not connected and sometimes it did. I reset the camera, unplugged the solar, plugged it back in, charged the battery, and it didn't work. The battery didn't charge. It took 5 phone calls of repeating myself, testing, an hour+ for each call and I was back to square one. Repeating my concerns several times even during the call. The CS people didn't get it. I finally asked for a tech support in the States. The person took care of the issue! I felt it was like the old days before Amazon bought Ring. I suggest anyone that is having issues ask for someone in the States or the country you live in.
I regret buying our Ring door bell camera and chime unit. It constantly drops out, often doesn't work even as a door bell and the battery life is very poor (less than 1 week between charges). I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
My stickup camera could not be charged anymore, so I called customer service to notify them of this problem and was told not to worry, that they would send me a new replacement camera at no charge to me.
Shortly after, I received an email notifying me that this replacement was ordered and then a second email telling me that it had been shipped with the tracking number and other details.
So I waited, expecting a delivery within the timeframe they showed which was 7-10 business days. After waiting longer, approximately 15-20 days, I called them and after they kept me on hold for nearly 1 hour, they finally said that it might take a little longer for the delivery.
I was quite upset at that information, but as there was nothing I could do about it, I just calmed down and continued to wait.
Then, after a little over 1 month, I get an email from them telling me that the warranty had expired and that they wouldn't be sending the replacement after all.
This is the type of service you get from Ring.
I only now just read the reviews on this company and I see that nearly all of the many reviews give the same 1 star rating that I'm giving them.

Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
