I had been using Doorbell 2 and Floodlight Camera since 2 years, after first year when promotion Expired I paid 1year service, after I just paid the problems coming up that Doorbell camera stopped charging battery by itself any longer, had to replace battery every few days, the floodlight camera lights went blurry blunt completely... all.the ring stopped working... they all often loose connectivity lot motions could not be found.,, react motions too late... Look like the connections were hacked and motions were hidden...
Looking for another cameras to replace...
Installed Video Doorbell 2 + Chime Pro World Fi Extender. For a start theres more info. Given to the set up than the ability to use the device. The app is all about settings but little of how to view the expected results. Initial notification good but then this became so protracted the house could have been cleared before being made aware then having asked Einstein how to view the video it was lousy. Sadly this was a gift but if you need a good security camera buy the UCam24/7 unit its a league above this but full marks for the packaging - well superior to the product it holds!
When it works, it's great. But rarely does it work. The lag time is a joke. It's wifi signal is way too weak. You can buy booster after booster and this thing will never be dependable. On occasion when it is working the video still has artifacts in it. People just disappear. I know more about wifi signals, range extenders and internet routers than anyone should have to. Maybe someday it will be improved. I hope I live so long.
Hi Mr M.,
Your device should hold a stable connection to your WiFi network. Which Ring device do you have in particular? Different devices require different upload speeds for best performance. We also recommend that your router is no more than 25ft from your device. Would you kindly reach me at Kandyce@ring.com today so that we can provide with some additional options and get your device up and running consistently to your expectations?

Ring.com promised by email if i sent the product utilizing their USPS pre-paid, i would get my new replacement back within 5 days. This was January 5,2020. As of today (2/13/2020), no product has been delivered or emailed tracking information. However, i have made over 10 calls to complain about by order and, i keep getting promises with different ID numbers stating my product will be sent out in two days. I paid $249. For my alarm and i told ring to produce my product or refund. Ring states, my product was purchased from bestbuy and refunds cant be given eventhough we have your defected product, i wait for the product or you will get nothing. I told Ring that's theft and False and misleading information. I called again tonight, just to get another empty promise on an order.
I purchased a newer model ring doorbell to replace my original. I emailed them and was told that at the end of the 30 day free subscription the new doorbell would roll over to my subscription that I had just renewed on my old doorbell. I was leery and sure enough the plan did not transfer over automatically. I emailed them twice and finally had to call in order to have the subscription transferred to the new doorbell. Terrible customer service. Here's their response: "... our incoming queries queue turned out to be a bit busier than expected." I guess that revenue-generating customers are responded to and others are not.
Ring Doorbell Pro just suddenly stopped working! Rep said it's a known issue but we are outside of warranty. It just shorts out and stops working! He said it's even happened to him and they can't do anything about. Ring Doorbell Pro is too expensive to only last 2 years!

Absolute worst customer service
Absolute worst customer service. I received half of my order. Half of what I received were not the more expensive items I ordered. After an hour over the phone explaining the four incorrect items and missing items no less than 5 times to a foreign representative who does not listen or understand clearly enunciated English the only answer I was given was that the cheaper items I received will work the same and the other half of my items will ship 7-9 weeks from now although I've already paid for them. They shipped from Amazon although I ordered from ring and Amazon shows that I can have them tomorrow if ordered today. What a fine hustle they are running. Cheap items or no items if you pay in advance.
Paid over 200$ for this camera and it only lasted about 2 years, first of all, they never tell you that, you need to have very fast and long range internet to connect to it. I ended up having to buy a Wifi extender, that did not help very much at all. Whenever you got an alert on your phone and tried to view it by calling up the app to see what was going on. By the time you got connected whatever caused it was long gone. So there was no chance of me speaking to them through the camera like they do so easily in their commercials, and lastly they also never mention that, the camera can't be placed in directly sun light, which is crazy because if you are outdoors eventually at some point you will probably get direct sun light. But because of that, the picture seen from the camera turned a green tint. So to conclude I will never buy another one again, and if it hadn't been for having it for 2 years already, I would have tried to return it.
Had this in motion and doorbell mode for 15 days. The motion picks up everything (large trucks stray dogs) and activates every time we leave the house. We set it to within 5 feet but it picks up everything that passes the house 80 feet away! We can not access live mode. No easy way to clear passed alerts without cycling throu each one an deleting them. Glad I didn't waste more on the pro version!
Hi Chris,
I am sorry to hear about this poor and inconvenient Ring experience. Setting up the motion detector does require a bit of maneuvering to find the sweet spot, however, we can assist you with honing these settings to make sure you receive the alerts that matter to you. Additionally, I would appreciate the opportunity to connect with you directly so that I can investigate the issues that you are encountering with accessing your Live View feature. Would you please email me directly at Kaitlyn.rosenthal@ring.com?
I would appreciate your time as well as the chance to improve your overall Ring experience.

The latest Windows 10 App pushed out today has 3 Issues. #1 you can't see the ring spotlight cam under devices or the history of that "new" device just the older ring doorbell and stickup cam. #2 if you click on the devices (the ones you do see) and select live view the app will display a black screen with "Error" if you don't have a mic connected to your PC. #3 when the push notification fires and the event tries to load it after displaying "connecting..." for a while the app just crashes. I'm a software developer with 20 years experience and I have to ask who in heck in this billion dollar company allowed this app to be released. Thankfully the Android app on my phone still works for now. I hope they don't screw that up as well. Such a shame they were doing well with the concept / hardware to get a black eye due sloppy software developers whom don't test thier code.

The person was barely understandable and kept me on the phone for over an hour only to tell me that they weren't able to help. My ring doorbell stopped connecting to the chime and they didn't know what to do. I'm better off just buying a new one or getting a different brand then dealing with them again. I am dreading the call I have to make tomorrow. They are terrible.
I have installed 3 ring devices - 2 floodlight cams and one doorbell. I have been very impressed with the products; they are well designed and well constructed. The floodlight cam in particular is an amazingly sound product and easy to install - at $200. The video is phenomenal. LOVE it! But, more amazing is the the CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had a problem with the doorbell. It stopped picking up motion. I called customer service on SUNDAY. A human answered from a US location! He was amazingly polite and empowered to fix the problem. He sent a new unit and it is working perfectly!
Hi Liz,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback! I am so glad to hear that you are pleased with your devices, as well as with our support team. Don't hesitate to reach out to me directly should you need any assistance in the future!

My Ring doorbell and cameras are strictly for outdoor use so I can see and record anyone coming onto my property. I love most everything about the cameras except for the fact that they're about as reliable 1992 dial up internet service. My doorbell especially only records 50% of the time on a good day. Customer service doesn't really help. The department that DOES help doesn't seem to know much and last time made me take the doorbell off, delete the ring app from my phone, restart my phone, reinstall the ring app, then set it up again. Didn't work. A month later still the same problem.
Ring has partnered with the police to give them access to video footage, and creates ads from video footage. It is a privacy violation in every way. Also, let's not forget that ring steals data and is bad when it comes to protecting you or your identity. It actually makes you less safe because it exposes you and poses a personal risk.
Hello Everyone,
Avoid ordering any devices online. They are very bad on communication and often provide the wrong information to return the camera's. I would buy them in the store. You call the philippines. Avoid online purchases.
They dont send the police in emergencies. Very over priced decoration system. No good in emergencies. Customer service is painstaking. They send you first over seas to irritating foreign countries. They barely speak english and have zero knowledge of ring products and support. These devices are only good for looking around your property thrpugh cameras. Everything else is a gaslight and fraud. Save your money on the alarm system. They suck as a monitoring company
Don't buy this over priced piece of garbage. Spend the additional money and buy a secured camera system. I chatted with the ring tech and he/she said the ring isn't a secure system then tried to blame the Internet provider. Really?
While I was very happy with the pre-sales support I received from Ring, returning the products (unused) was a very long and drawn out process which involved 20 emails and over an hour on chat. The reps did not have access to the basics of my order (like... what I purchased) when I gave them my order number. I had to unbox all the cameras and give them the serial numbers (which had a bar code), model, color, etc, then re-package the cameras. The logistics for returns was very poor. I do appreciate that they covered the shipping for me, but getting the correct labels took a couple of tries as well.
Hi Mike,
I am sorry to hear about this less than excellent Ring experience. At this point, I would appreciate the chance to connect with you directly so that I can both follow up on your return as well as provide you with some additonal options. Would you please email me at Kaitlyn.rosenthal@ring.com?
I would appreciate your time.

Had a major issue today and needed to retrieve the video/can't because their is a major issue with people being able to log into their accounts. The service is constantly down, you go to view something just to find out that it is not available because of one issue after another.: Purchased a $20.00 cameras for indoors, it is cheaper a month and I do not have issues with retrieving footage. My husband paid over $100 for this Ring Doorbell. DO NOT PURCHASE
If you've purchased a Ring video doorbell be prepared to receive zero customer service! I misplaced the removal tool and after installing a new wifi router I needed access to the back of the doorbell to reset the wifi. I emailed customer service 3 times over three days and never got a reply, well, I did get one automated reply at first promising an 8 hour time frame to respond with an answer. I tried to remove the doorbell and broke it! It's in the trash now! I won't replace it because it took a long time to record motion, you could come up to the door, grab something off the porch and be gone before it would send an alert and begin recording. The doorbell alert would sometimes take a minute to send an alert. Doesn't seem like much but that's a long time to stand at a door without an answer!
Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
Ring has a rating of 1.3 stars from 773 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Ring most frequently mention customer service, door bell and live view. Ring ranks 166th among Home Security sites.
