I booked a room online for the wrong night (one day too soon), realized my mistake immediately, called their customer services number, was told there is nothing they can do! I didn't want a refund, mind you, I just wanted to push the reservation one day. Nope, sorry, not an option. They 'graciously' offered to cancel my reservation and re-book - at double the price! Stay far away from this booking 'service.'
Stay far away from this business, they keep telling you they've refunded my service fee (called them within 5 min of booking as it was a mistake and I never went on the trip) but refuse to provide any written confirmation of anything and will keep telling you to call the bank. I've called in about 5 times over the last month and have been promised emails, and to wait 3-5 more days every time and nothing happens. Im disputing their service fee through the CC now. Total waste of time and this company is running a scam with all oversees customer service that have no authority to do anything.
We rented a room and was given a receipt for 125. Our bank statement is 162.81 PLUS and additional 19.99 reservation fee. 182.80 for a room that was 125.09 after tax. Customer service is TERRIBLE. I've been on hold for almost an hour. The rep said she cannot refund me because we have already stayed. Obviously... we were told by the hotel the price would correct itself and if not to call. And now she's saying she cant do anything. Screw this business.
This has to be one of the best booking sites available. My experience was amazing, and my holiday was beautiful! Thanks to Reservations.com for helping me out in every way, even when I had questions about things! A simple call cleared it all up. Fantastic service and very effective, professional website! I will be using Reservations.com again!
This site is simply dishonest! Don't book with them.
Your credit card company although they know this is wrong cannot do anything because at the very very bottom of the page it does say USD, I got ripped off too!
Lesson learned! #!#!
I've been using Reservations.com when I book hotels for personal vacations and also to help out family and friends. But whenever I do recommend other people use it they always say the same thing. Everything is so easy to figure out. Good job!
My experience is the same as others listed here. Reservations.com came up top of google search and I though they were the actual hotel. Of course they weren't, didn't reveal the real price until after I checked out, fully 50% higher than I anticipated. Five minutes later I called (cant cancel online of course, that would be too easy) I got a promise of a refund in 7-9 days, the delay because of my bank of course. And out the $20.00 processing fee on which they live. Now I will be even more careful checking every single link I get relative to hotels. Why google allows them to come up first and game the system is beyond me.
I recently go the run around as their customer service is for many different websites.
The $14.99 gets added on when you make the reservations amongst the taxes etc.
What would be the honest thing to do is to show on the main page that a $14.99 fee will be given no matter what instead of being sneaking and adding it after.
Also when I called their "customer Service" the girl could not find in the terms and conditions for me where it showed the sneaky $14.99.
Also if you decide to cancel your reservation you still get that charge. Ridiculous.
You are much better off booking directly with the hotel.
I will never use this service again!
They hide fees until the end. Use any other booking company tried to cancel my reservation no one answered the phone. I should have seen the fee and cancellation policy that's my fault but any other website is way more straight forward than this crap. I recommend you stay away from reservations.com
I booked a hotel room through Reservations.com and paid with a debit card. I checked my account this morning and in addition to the regular room charge and taxes I had been charged a separate "customer service" fee of $19.99. I called customer service and was told that they could cancel, but I would still have to pay the $19.99. When I was booking, I deliberately chose the option that allowed for what I thought would be a "no consequence" cancellation. This is a very unreliable company. Seem to be making it up as they go along.
Incidentally this customer service? I had to call 3 times before I got a person. First 2 times the phone just rang interminably. Please don't waste your time with them, because you will ultimately be throwing your money away. There are plenty of reputable companies out there.
They charge non refundable fees to the consumer for booking a room through Expedia and do not show actual charges until you enter your credit card information. I immediately called to cancel, but they will not refund the $19.99 service fee. BEWARE!
The way this company works is that it takes your money from your credit card and then makes a reservation with theirs so if you cancel they get the money back and tell you it's "no refundable" additionally the service rates and hotel fees almost double your nightly price. Before you go here look at how many reports to the Better Business Bureau have been made! Don't do it!
Never received a confirmation email, nor was I told my money was non-refundable. So I'm basically giving them money for staying at home for four days! Poor people in customer service that have to deal with the complaints! This is a scam company - if I could select zero stars I would
Shame on me for not reading the fine print maybe, but I shouldn't have to be a lawyer to reserve a room. Got a Motel 8 room for two nights, but only ended up needing one. 10 mins later I call to cancel... nope not allowed. I don't care if the fine print says its non refundable, I honestly didn't realize it and acted very quickly to change.
Also noticed if I had booked through Motel 8 instead, would have gotten a slightly better price and no $20 fee from reservations.com
Screw these guys, and the travel industry in general if this is the way things are going to be.
DON'T USE THIS SITE. First off, they charge an automatic 19.99 fee to do the booking. Secondly, I made a reservation, cancelled it in less than 30 minutes when I found other sites had it for half the price (and didn't realize I was booking with an outside source. Seemed like booking with the hotel... sneaky set up there). When my credit card bill came, they charged me a one night penalty plus the 19.99 fee. For a reservation cancelled within 30 minutes. Called to find out why the charge was so big and told "that is our policy. " Talk about feeling ripped off! I will stick with priceline from now on!
Don't make a reservation with this website. They add extra fees in the "fees and taxes" which are much higher than hotels charge, +19.99 booking fee, and they site hotel policies of reservations not being cancelable when in fact they are. It's systematic fraud. I hope somebody files a class action.
I tried to modify a 1 night reservation (arrive 1 day later) for a hotel, 9 days out from original booking in low season, no flexibility even though if I booked hotel direct - would not have been a problem and no change fee, understand if there was a reasonable admin fee, I lost the full 220.00 price of room - shame on reservations.com
Terrible site. Collected my card information and then. Charged over $50 in fees! One being a $19.99 fee to use the site that they said is non refundable. Even though I was never disclosed with this information when booking. They never did reimburse me for the $19.99! Complete SCAM and the customer service guy lied saying he would refund me and send me a confirmation email to assure it. As it is when you call to cancel l, the automated prompts try making you call back with the 7 days of your reservation to make sure they can deal with closer cancelations first (and they hang up). They should have ZERO stars for reviews! This is theft!
I was on the hotels landing page starting my reservation on mobile and apparently a pop up happened without my realizing it. I own that I didn't read the fine print at that point, bc I've made dozens of hotel reservations and they're all pretty much the same. Once the charge instantly hit my card I realized there was a problem. I contacted reservations and they will not allow cancellation, booking date is 60+ days out. Let's be real, there can be exceptions on everything but they do not want to grant it.
Just be cautious when placing your bookings on browsers, my lesson is learned and their CS is horrid.
Do not ever use this company for reservations. Be careful when searching for the best price and make sure you have not accidentally clicked on their links. They charge 19.99 fee on top of other fees and I don't recall anything saying it was non refundable or that there was even a 19.99 fee prior to booking.
Will be contacting a Class Action attorney I know from a few years ago to see about potential legal action against them.
Be careful!
