Do not ever use this company for reservations. Be careful when searching for the best price and make sure you have not accidentally clicked on their links. They charge 19.99 fee on top of other fees and I don't recall anything saying it was non refundable or that there was even a 19.99 fee prior to booking.
Will be contacting a Class Action attorney I know from a few years ago to see about potential legal action against them.
Be careful!
Beware! Do not use this business for your reservations! If you have any trouble at all, they will not assist you. I accidentally booked the wrong location within the same city. I immediately contacted Reservations.com upon receiving the confirmation email (less than 5 minutes) and was told they could not do anything for me since it is a non-refundable reservation. I have never had such poor customer service anywhere for anything; bypass this awful company and make your reservations with other reputable companies (maybe hotels.com - I have not ever had trouble with them). This bad experience ruined my day and cost us money we don't have.
Reservations.com buys ad space to come in on Google searches. When you call their phone number they pretend to be the reservations department of an actual hotel. I fell for this and got overcharged around $40 and never got a confirmation or receipt. After calling several times I gave up on their direct line and contacted the hotel directly to see who exactly sent the reservation. Apparently this is part of Priceline or Agoda, but no matter who I spoke with no one could get me a copy of my invoice. I got several different numbers from different customer service reps, but every one of them said it was made through another affiliate, until the last one hung up on me after 8 minutes on hold. I am still trying to get an invoice to get reimbursed (at least partially) for this hotel stay. This company is awful.
I've been hesitant in using booking sites to make hotel reservations but Reservations.com made it all easy for me. They have instant booking confirmation on the hotel of my choice. Not just that! I also saved a lot on their hotel deals!
After spending half an hour with my credit card company in fear of a fraudulent charge, I realized after reading other reviews that reservations.com had sneakily tacked on a $14.99 surcharge to an online hotel reservation I had made. There was no indication that this charge would be applied, and I not only paid more for the reservation than if I had phoned direct, I paid this hidden charge on top of it. And their customer service was horrible. I am really angry at Trip advisor too for letting such dirty businesses operate through them.
Fairly good price (still more than joining that hotel's rewards program) but when i had to cancel they charged me 20 bucks to change my mind 30 seconds after I reserved it! They charged $1700 to my credit card (plus 20 to cancel) and they say it will take 10-15 business days to get my charge refunded. It says you should have read the terms and conditions (like anyone does that).
So I will never use this company again. It's just a ripoff. My bad for not reading reviews first. They won't fool me twice.
Reservations has the WORST customer service. Agents just hang up if you have an issue. I cancelled a fully refundable reservation April 23rd. I received an email confirming cancellation from reservations. After 20 days still no refund. I called 800 # for reservations... got "get-a-room" was told reservation not cancelled. Written confirmation useless. Hotel confirmed cancelled. NO REFUND..."technical issue" on "get a room" end. SCAM...
Definitely avoid this outfit, their hidden fees and lack of transparency. I made the mistake of booking through them for a work trip out of last-minute desperation and am having a very hard time getting any sort of receipt that will allow me to be reimbursed.
This booking service is misleading. No customer service. They will not help you. I tried calling g within 24 hours of my booking g once u realized their policy. On hold for 45 minutes I hung up. Tried again the next to be told there nothing they could do. This business does not care about customers. And my reservation was over 2 months away and they refused to help or modify at all. You must read the entire website before booking because the cancellation policy does show up until after they take your money.
These guys are good, if you mean deceptive. It appeared I was booking through the hotel website. Not so. How they got me I'm not sure. There should be some type of action available here. Not sure it is criminal, but I know it is not ethical. This site is set up for one reason. Grab money from the unsuspecting. Has anyone had any luck?
Was tricked into thinking this was Silver Legacy's site, said all fees were included... paid upfront then was charged $23 more resort fee. Pool and spa are closed, parking is free for everyone. Learned a valuable lesson about bait and switch. Thanks reservations.com for the lesson!
Beware, the $14.99 non-refundable reservation fee is NOT disclosed prior to the transaction being completed, whatever the poor telephone reps will repeat endlessly. There is a class action suit already filed against these crooks (in Illinois).
I submitted a consumer complaint to my State Attorney General. Please do the same if you get caught by these despicable people. They trip you up by being the first link showing in a google search for the hotel. Google should not allow this either.
Ugh!
No where on the site does it say it would be charging in US funds when booking in Canada, also ha hidden fee of 14.99 was added. Why would anyone book in Canada knowing it is US funds. Waited over two hours just to get some smart $#*! guy telling me to bad so sad and would do nothing for me. Bad business Reservations.Com, I guess the old saying right you only have to screw each person once to make it big.
Like many others, I learned the hard way to not ever use this booking site. I have never called a hotel to book a reservation before so naturally I chose the first link on Google and assumed I had been calling the hotel the whole time. Don't make the same mistake as me.
Booked on wrong hotel. Filed complaint same day. Have been attempting to get refund for 2 months with no success.
They keep advising me they are checking into the complaint and will call me back which has not happened to date
Just learnt of a recent promotion via an email received, went online and saw some good prices for an upcoming trip. All was well at the hotel upon arrival, booking process was also easy. Called their call center to upgrade my room and the lady on the phone said she would try and got me an upgrade. Would surely book again
Policies are not clearly stated and customer service is horrible. New policy showed up after booking the hotel, but when I tried to immediately cancel they refused. Unable to submit my receipt related to the lack of formats excepted. Don't ever use this site, there are too many out there to settle for this.
These people are crooks who scam you and take your money and no matter how you try you can't get it back. I was somehow switched to this site from a hotel's website before I knew it, and bam, my credit card was charged with no refunds period. The front page does not reveal that your credit card will be charged immediately, only until you say 'Book it"! BE CAREFUL, plus when I received 'proof' of the charge from them through my credit card company, the receipt said Expedia.com! I was never on Expedia. Something fishy here. I lost $1000!
We walked in the Best Western at 1221 West State Road 84, Fort Lauderdale, Florida - *******, it was one of our worst experience, the moment you walk in there was an horrible wet carpet smell, we slept one night woke up the next day I was so sick could not stopped coughing and it was hard to breathe and on top of that we found a bed bug omg. They were trying to make things right by giving us another room which were bigger but the smell was even worse, we were so upset, we checked out immediately and got an airbnb. We did our booking through expedia they told we have to call Expedia to get our money back. Long story short we were supposed to stay 6 nights and we stayed 1 and they refund us money back for 5 nights. This is a horrible place to stay.
Told me cheapest rate, booked hotel for 50 dollars cheaper. I asked the lady before I booked if I could cancel, they said I got a full refund until midnight. I just called 5 minutes later and she is saying not a full refund as it is in penalty window. I am disputing charge on my credit card and please stay far away from this company... criminals.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
