Tried Reservations.com for the first time during our vacation in Austin, and I was pretty pleased with the experience. I can't really say if it's a lot better than other booking sites I've tried but at least this one is just as good. I've recommended it to my co-workers and friends already.
Just made a reservation on what I thought was the hotel site. I got suspicious when there was no "review your reservation" page but instead it went straight to "we charged you $x. Xx". There was no disclosure whatsoever that they were going to charge me $40 in taxes and fees when $10 or so would have been normal.
Deceptive crooks!
Don't book through this site. Our reservation was overcharged with extra fees on our CC. Horrible experience then they charged us another fee to cancel with them. No clear at all, very dishonest business. Report to your credit card company if they give you unauthorized charges
Worthless company... no respect for their customers... almost EVERY other site allows you to cancel. I'm fine to take a fee, i get that, but the fact that it is completely non-refundable is the biggest joke. The better business bureau or someone who has some pull should shut these jokers down. HORRIBLE!
Do not use this company they will rip you of was charged$ 300.00 for a room I did not use, sent me to Vagabond Inn San jose airport which was down town with people sleeping in there cars and homeless people sleep outside the property.
Same experience with everyone else. The one positive review they have must be an employee. Was misled by online's ad service and reservations.com making themselves seem like hotel's site. I don't know why but their taxes and fees on top of the 14.99 service fee are way higher than hotels or other sites (hotwire, Priceline, etc). Was able to cancel and only paid 14.99 which I'll consider a "learning" fee. Even with that fee I still saved money by booking through hotel. Save yourself the trouble by booking through hotel directly or through reputable online services such as hotels.com.
My experience using this company is consistent with the majority of other patrons. Did not realize we were making reservations through a third party site and no additional fees were shown until after reservation was completed! Then they tacked on close to 50% of the cost of one night stay just in fees! FRAUD! Customer service department is a joke!
Deceptive practices in my opinion. Attaching their number to a "Call Us" button on what appears to be the hotel's website. Why don't they also state the fees and taxes PLUS reservation fees and TOTAL cost when they confirm a booking on the phone? Not only that but there is a language barrier where it's difficult to even understand half of what is being said. $96 a night for two nights turns out to be an additional $62.00? Non-refundable of course if you are unhappy once you receive the "confirmation of b. S." email. Fooled me once but never again will they get my business. Buyer beware! Be sure you are dealing with the hotel or a reputable company. Hotel clerk told me I booked through Expedia.com. I have yet to see Expedia.com on any written documentation. Reservations.com is, in my humble opinion, deceptive in their practices.
They advertised a $101 room including taxes and fees for 1 night, total cost charged to my credit card 197.75 usd. They don't tell you that it's in usd before you check out. If you don't live in the US don't use them. I've tried their customer support site can't get through keeps coming up (can't load page). I wouldn't even rate this site they are con artists but I have too. Lessen learned to do more research.
This company is a scam from beginning to end. They charged $20 per night more than the hotel's highest rate without notice, passed themselves off as the actual hotel during the call, tacked on an outrageous amount of fees, and refused to discuss any reimbursement when speaking to their "agent" who tried speaking very fast in order to end my complaint call. After all that, I received an email from "Travel Pass" denying any compensation. Avoid at all costs!
I got to this website after clicking the wrong link on a google search for a hotel. The site is carefully constructed to make it look as though you are on the hotel's own website. They ended up adding approximately $140 to a room advertised for $309 (the exact amount added was 42.6%). The hotel informed me that the taxes are 14.7%, so not paying close enough attention cost me about a hundred dollars. It's my fault. I should have been more careful. Rookie mistake! Live and learn.
But at least I can warn others: DO NOT USE reservations.com.
These people advertise a hotel price they can't deliver, add taxes and fees and a booking charge for ZERO customer service then don't send an email confirmation after charging your credit card. I'm just lucky I took screen shots. Good luck getting through their customer "service" phone menu. It is circular and they apparently can't handle doing anything themselves as they refer you back to the hotel for issues they themselves created.
I've booked my hotel accommodations through Reservations.com countless of times and not once has it ever disappointed me. Whether it's for work or simply traveling with friends, the booking site always has good hotels lined up for me.
They charged $90.00 for "taxes and fees", and then $15.00 in a non-refundable "service fee" for a two night $195 stay, all of which was not posted, with charges showing up only after payment. I cancelled the reservation immediately and made it for much less at the hotel itself. Yet their cancellation stated "it may take 30 days for the refund" to show up. Awful!
Very frustrating. They hide that the cancellation is 100% non-refundable and then they also upcharge another 30 fee. The website makes it look like you are on the hotel website. My fault for not reading every little link. I called customer service 5 minutes after booking to make a change and they said sorry, nothing is refundable. Stay away from this website.
Good news. My Jabber (and Trip Advisor) review appear to have gotten a response from Reservations.com. They fully refunded their fee and the overcharge for our stay at La Quinta in Terrell Texas. I am very pleased. I only wish they had been so responsive without my having to post my negative reviews.
Disguises itself as a hotel website.
You will get charged a $19 per room fee unbeknownst to you until after the booking is complete and when you call back of course everything is non refundable.
Incredibly deceitful site. Use at your own risk.
Unfortunately I accidentally booked a room on this site. I thought I was on the actual hotel website. I could have gotten a better rate directly from the hotel and they charged a $14.99 fee that was in no way disclosed to me before hand. I sent a message to their CS team but from the reviews I've been reading I will never hear back from them. Getting a hotel room for New Years Eve is a splurge for us anyway then dishonest people scam us out of more money than we should be paying. How can people sleep at night ripping off people? Has anyone had luck disputing and getting the $14.99 fee refunded?
What a bunch of decrepit, low life scumbags! We were quoted 110 at the desk. Saw this sight for 83.00 and went this route. Well 83.00 turned into almost 160 with hidden fee's. Disgusting money grab. Do you have a mother? Any of you? She would be ASHAMED!
I booked a room online for the wrong night (one day too soon), realized my mistake immediately, called their customer services number, was told there is nothing they can do! I didn't want a refund, mind you, I just wanted to push the reservation one day. Nope, sorry, not an option. They 'graciously' offered to cancel my reservation and re-book - at double the price! Stay far away from this booking 'service.'
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
