This is a complete scam. I made a reservation thinking It was with the hotel directly (lesson learned but in my defense, I was on my phone at 11:30pm). The charge they quoted was $119 per night - sounds good, right? They scammed me by charging "taxes and fees" of $29.44 AND "Service Fees" of $14.99, my total came out to USD $148.44. Which was immediately charged on my cc. When I attempted to cancel it within the half hour... I got complete and utter run-around. I have now spoken to three people in their "Support Center" which actually is a CALL CENTER somewhere out of the country. If anyone is aware of a class action that was previously mentioned... I hope they are successful. This company is complete and utter SCAM. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!
Never contacted these clowns yet when confirmation came back it was through them. Never logged onto their website, yet when my reservation came back it was through Reservation.com. Don't use them. They cheated me, they will cheat you.
Made a booking thru them and the room was used as booked.
When making the reservaation, they NEVER said there'd be booking fee of $19.99.
My card got charged for this fee and I never got an email about the booking.
Tried to talk with them about this but they're unwilling to address the problem.
Very frustrating experience to book something and not notice the "fine print" noting that the charge was in USD and non-refundable bookings. When calling the customer service centre they were not helpful in even considering amending to CAD regardless of the subject property being booked was in Canada and we booked in Canada, and are Canadian.
I would never book with this company again.
I saw this site in my search for a hotel booking service. I quickly booked a room to spend my vacation with my fiance. When I got to the hotel, I just waited for a little while to have my key for the hotel once I was in the hotel. My experience was awesome, I loved the way I was treated. I will use it again next time.
The bed at the hotel I booked through reservations.com was covered in ants. When I complained to the hotel, I was told that reservations.com would have to give me a refund. I emailed them and told them of the situation. I never heard back from them. Not a good way to run a business!
Myrtle Beach is a few hours' drive from where I live and when I finally decided on the time and day to go stay there for a vacation I turned to Reservations.com to help me choose a hotel. My budget wasn't really high but I got a good deal on a hotel. It was a comfortable vacation.
First, I consider myself experienced in online booking so it was a real shock when I learned that not only had I booked a hotel reservation on their site vs the hotel itself, but that there was a non-refundable $20 fee associated with my reservation, AND when I cancelled the reservation due to our change in plans, even though it was within 7 days of making the reservation AND more than 30 days before the start of our trip, it would take up to 30 days to receive a refund - yes, they immediately charge your credit card. None of this is made clear on the booking page, I have reached out to customer service and the response I got was more or less canned and saying not their problem. I also researched the founder on LinkedIn and messaged him - no response. In this difficult time when many travel related businesses are waiving fees and going the extra mile to accommodate requests in changes to travel plans, this is tone deaf.
I went online believing I was reserving directly with the hotel. The advertised price was 79.00 and at no time was I informed that the "taxes and fees" would add an extra 50% to my bill. As soon as i saw how much was charged to my card, i called to cancel, but the cancellation fee equals the cost of the room. What a scam. NEVER USE RESERVATION.COM.
Beware, this site is a scam. I thought I was on the hotel's website but I wasn't. I got charged $60 more due to outrageous taxes and service fee. Unreal! This was the first time I booked a hotel reservation online, never again.
I made a reservation for two rooms at a hotel for one night. I was given the impression that I was dealing directly with the hotel, that I could cancel up to the arrival date, and I could cancel with a full refund. I realized that I was dealing with Reservations.com when I saw the confirmation. When I cancelled my reservation I was refunded the room fees but not $20.00 per room for extra costs. I didn't know I was paying for extra costs. Also, the cancellation date was a week earlier than what I was told when I booked. No apparent recourse. Not impressed!,
Stay away from this site! I made a reservation that was supposed to have cancelation. As soon as I received the confirmation email that was no longer an option. Also the total price was 50$ higher than what was shown on the screen.
I wanted to surprise my husband for our 5th year anniversary, and I wanted to book a staycation for us just so we both can relax. I got lots of great options from Reservations.com. We stayed at a Hilton and it was splendid!
I made a mistake in rating this company. I should have rate them with a Zero (0).
Be careful:
- they first bill you in US$ without any advise on their site
- second, they collect all the money upfront on reservation of your stay
- third, you cannot be reimbursed upon cancellation of your stay ( in their cancellation policy)
- fourth, you cannot change your date at the hotel reserved ( not shown in their cancellation policy).
Apparently, Expedia is connected to them…. Outch! Not a good point for them
A canadian customer by mistake
They didn't mention any fees I noticed only when checking my back acct and saw they debit me twice. Called to make reservation and called back 19 mins later to cancel due to corona virus and I am bronchial asthmatic felt it was not safe. They said my refund would take 5-10 business days. Called 5 days later they are still working it. Called again later and said they are waiting on hotel to confirm refund and never got response. Called spoke to hotel manager they never received call or email from reservations.com and my acct is still active with no show. THEY LIED. Called back they said no refund. WHAT! I spoke to manager about this run around, lies and how I called hotel myself. My health being upper respiratory health issues and they said I will have my refund sent to me. NOTHING
Per the reservation, I have until two days prior to the check in date to change or cancel my reservation. I wanted to change my check-in date from the 24th to the 26th but I can't because the hotel is sold out. I'm not adding any dates just taking two away. And somehow it's not possible? I only used he company due to my organization's discount policy. I'll be more cautious next time. Book through a hotel directly or something reputable like Expedia. Buyer beware
Reservations.com is the worst company I have ever dealt with in years they scam you online adding fees to your charge without advising you and then you can't cancel. Their phones are answered in the Philippines and they can't do anything to help you because there's no one else to talk to. I would never ever go through them under any I'm going to report that down to the better Business bureau and when I got to the hotel they wanted me to give them a $100 deposit even though the the thieves at reservations.com had already charged me at least$40 more than it showed on their website they give you tons of numbers and no real answer and after about 3 minutes when I tried to cancel after seeing the charge they refused to give me any of the money back when I got to the hotel they told me if I didn't give the $100 deposit they wouldn't they wouldn't give me the room they would just cancel it and I wouldn't get any of my money back so I was stuck in my car with no where to go
reservation.com
I actually thought I was completing an online reservation with Hampton, on Hampton's website, to find out after I hit confirm that it was with Reservations.com. Not only did they charge an extra $78.38 after I confirmed the reservation but, I was also charge $8.99 for something I have no idea for what? I have received no receipt for this and when I called, no one could explain it. I have seen in other reviews that the same thing has happened to others as well. This is a bait and switch scam job. They offer an upfront price, you think you are seeing a full bill when you pay just to find out they add after the fact. When you call, all they want to do is break down the charge and offer to send you another receipt. Beware! I will be reporting to the BBB and doing a review anywhere possible. If I could do less than 1 Star I would.
This is a scam. DO NOT USE!Had a family emergency and they wouldn't refund my money. Stay as far away from this site as you can! I will never use this site again! Going to report it to the BBB! For lack of a better word F… this site. I think it's over seas.
I was incensed at the price gouging! Taxes added up to 20% on top of the "hidden" service fee. I had to work hard and wait on hold, but I finally convinced a supervisor to cancel the reservation AND refund the non-refundable service fee.
At first she refused, but then I read the headlines to her from their reviews on this site. And also threatened a chargeback.
After this, she offered me a one-time waive of the $14.99 fee and full cancellation.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
