Second time I have been scammed! First time had to go the route of fraud investigation and now a 2nd time going route with fraud investigation for my CC. They present online data as if you are booking with hotel directly. My best advice to avoid these scammers is to call the hotel directly and be very specific that you are talking to the hotel property directly. Sadly I will say the 1st go around I verified multiple times that I was speaking to the hotel directly. This online support team will lie to you and commit fraud by deception and not blink an eye! Something needs to be done with our laws to stop this predatory fraud.
Fraudulent Mimicry of actual hotel site. Charge service fees in addition to negotiate a fee for hotel rooms. Do not send confirmations of rooms. Charge for rooms they do not book at the selected properties.
I've contacted them several times about a refund for a reservation for a room at a hotel that was hit by a tornado and wasn't open for business. They asked for documentation and then I never heard back. They're impossible to get a refund from and I will never book with reservations.com again. Terrible customer service!
I made an online reservation with this company. I had to cancel this reservation 3 days after I made it. I used the company web site to cancel and my credit card charges were refunded within 3 Days. It doesn't get any better.
I recently booked a reservation with this company for the first time. When making the reservation, I explained I was part of a wedding group and gave the agent my hotel code. The agent acknowledged it, and I assumed I was receiving the group rate. Upon checking in at the hotel, I learned I had not received the group rate and I was paying almost double the rate. After returning home, I called the *******090 number. I was told no refund could be given. When I asked why, the agent said it was too late as it was after my stay.
Booked 2 rooms, upon arrival to the hotel they only had one room booked. We had to leave the hotel because we needed 2 rooms. After approx 2 hours of talking to out of country people how apologize over and over no one could help us with the refund
Reservations.com charged me two fees in addition to the hotel cost: one for Taxes and fees and the other for fees. These fees seemed like a lot for me so I called and asked for a breakdown which rhey refused to provide claiming they were "automatically generated " and not available. My view is that the customer should have detailed access to the billing information particulary one that says Taxes and fees. I will certainly not use this site again.
I called reservations.com in error to book a hotel room. I asked the agent directly if I reached the direct reservation line for the hotel I was interested in. He stated yes and then I proceeded to book a hotel room.
When I arrived at the hotel, the hotel was over booked and I was unable to find another room in the area. It then took me another 20 minutes to get the charge reversed
All I can say, they lied to me and then left me without a room after booking the room thru them. In summary, Do NOT use reservations.com!
The person that took my reservation on the phone sold me a room with a whirlpool tub when I got to the hotel it was in a room without a whirlpool tub I've been arguing with them about it for 2 weeks now. The reservation says Whirlpool right on it and they're trying to tell me the whirlpool is the brand of microwave and not give me any refund or adjustment on my purchase I'm totally dissatisfied and will be blasting them all over social media to everybody I know!
I have never written a bad review for a company before but this was terrible. I thought I was booking with the hotel. When I realized I was on reservations.com I thought I would just finish the transaction. I booked the room and had somehow gotten the room for the current night not the night I needed it. What happened next was a terrible almost 2 hour experience. I contacted them within 1 minute of booking to change the date. I was charged the full price for for the room. They would not fix it. I had to speak to 4 different people and no one would help me.
As I was traveling with my two young children, I asked when booking to be on the women's floor of the hotel. I asked the person helping on the phone 3 different times to double check that I was on the women's floor. When I checked in, I was not on the women's floor and they didn't have any rooms on that floor. The women's floor is the only reason I planned t stay at this hotel so I'm not happy it didn't work out.
I made a reservation and was charged for the room before the trip. The hotel had issues which necessitated to move us to a different hotel for the first 3 nights. The hotel also offered to refund the last night due to the inconvenience. Reservations.com did not communicate the hotel had reached out to tell us they needed to move us. Reservation.com did not communicate the hotel offered to refund the last night and would not refund to us the last night. A family member made a separate reservation directly with the hotel so we knew there were issues. I'm afraid we would have been on the street at arrival and reservations.com was keeping the money for the last night no matter what. Not a reliable company you can trust will help you when something happens.
Misleads, overcharges, will try to up-sell. They have a steep service fee. They charged me $411 for a two night stay and when I physically got to the hotel, I found out i could have gotten it for $326. This service is a complete and utter waste of bandwidth
They charged me a service fee of 19.99 just to book the hotel... I didn't realize I wasn't on the hotel's website and I didn't know they had a fee until the transaction was done... of course non refundable... screw these scam websites... google shouldn't allow them to be on the search for the hotel I'm staying at.
I thought I was making a reservation through Hilton and got a reservation number from Reservation.com. When I tried to cancel the reservation a couple of hours later I was told I had selected a non-refundable rate which was not true.
I thought I was booking through Days Inn as the website looked legit. They immediately charged my card with the amount and another charge for 14.95. I called the number on the charge and they have me the run around and said it was a sister company and I would have to call them. I went back to the original website and called that number and was able to cancel the reservation but was told that the 14.95 was a "service fee" that was not refundable.
Reservations.com is overpriced, misleading, and downright dishonest. Their site is set up so you think that you are booking with the actual hotel. I called to book, but when I questioned the exhorbitant extra charges above the advertised room rate, they said it was taxes, which was a blatant lie. They charge fees above the room rate and then they charge an extra 15.00 non-refundable booking fee. I still save $95 by cancelling and booking directly with the hotel and I did not have to be charged for the room up front. I do not recommend reservations.com and I will be careful not to use them again.
I phoned Booking.com to make a reservation a month in advance. When I decided to cancel the trip the next day, I found there was a non-refundable $19.99 booking fee! This was not disclosed to me when I spoke to the agent the day before. Calling to complain about this is useless as the wait is interminable. I'll have to cancel on line and eat the $19.99.
This site hides the fact that it is a third party so when you see the room price, what you don't see is their 'service charge' which can be up to 30 percent more than you expect to pay. There are more than 500 BBB complaints about fraudulent practices by this company since Jan. 2019. Run away from this site as fast as you can. You are about to be scammed out of some big bucks.
I had a similar experience to the others who posted on this site. When I thought I was speaking with the hotel directly I realized that was not the case when the rates were higher. When I told the agent I did not want to book they said it had already gone through and was nonrefundable. When I asked to speak with a manager a gentleman came on the phone and claimed he called the hotel to cancel the room, but could not without manager approval and a manager would not be available until the next day. If the company treated their customer with transparency they may become a major player, but with this type of operating practices I hope they are not in business long.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.

Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
