Hi.
I just rented a room in Muskoka through this company. I could not get the motel I wanted so settled for a different one. Right from the start of phone call I stated I had a Service Dog. After they booked room they called me back and said No Pets. I told them he is service. They said ok. Couple mins later they called back and said no service pets either. Would I like to cancel. I said yes. Then argued with them about getting money back. I should not have to wait 7 to 10 or Maby 30 days for my money due to there customer service reps inability to make sure service pets we're allowed before booking room. As I said they were told right at beginning of phone call. Totally unacceptable in my opinion.
So I called the motel I wanted directly. They did have a room for me and at a cheaper rate than reservations.com. They also said they can't wait to see shaman my serve dog.
I would never ever again use this company
If I can give a 0. That's what they get
Reservations has the WORST customer service. Agents just hang up if you have an issue. I cancelled a fully refundable reservation April 23rd. I received an email confirming cancellation from reservations. After 20 days still no refund. I called 800 # for reservations... got "get-a-room" was told reservation not cancelled. Written confirmation useless. Hotel confirmed cancelled. NO REFUND..."technical issue" on "get a room" end. SCAM...
They trick you with low prices and then add fees mess up the email in the reservation and do not bother to respond to any inquiry.
reservations.com is the biggest scam I have encountered so far on the Internet. They charge ridiculous fees and the reservations are completely non-cancelable and they make no apologies about it. I called within 10 minutes of booking my reservation and they wouldn't even consider a refund and cancellation. I don't think they should be allowed to practice business and I will definitely dispute the charge with my credit card company. They do not deserve a one out of five event.
My reservation was non refundable. Due to medical issues we were not able to attend my granddaughter's wedding. Customer Service confirmed every couple of days regarding the status of my refund. They were very kind and professional. I will definitely make reservations with them on my next trip.
I tried to use the recommended reservation site for a hotel in France, was directed to Reservations.com. They charged me about $250 for a room, when the base price before taxes and fees was less than $150. Rex at their customer service number in Orlando could not explain this, except to say that the fees exist, and could not provide a detailed breakdown, except for their $19.99 nonrefundable fee, which was buried somewhere in the payment panel. I swallowed the $20 and told poor Rex politely that they would never get another dime from me. I then went to another site and booked the room for $178 TOTAL. So even with their $20 fee I came out ahead, and with a valuable lesson as we continue to book our France trip. Safe travels, everyone!
They will overcharge you to book a reservation plus charge a reservation fee and they will steal your money if you decide to cancel a reservation and I've tried to call them several times and they will not pick up their phone. Nothing but thieves worthless service
This company scams you. I tried to make a cancellation within 17 hours of making the purchase because i wanted to shift the dates to one day earlier. They said they'd get back to me in 72 hours and never did. I have been trying to contact them all day to figure out if its been cancelled or not and they keep saying they don't know. So now I might show up alone to a new country as a young female for a business trip and have no where to stay. I do not want to book two hotels (at a rate of $400 per night) in case the cancellation doesn't go through and then I could've stayed on of the nights with the original reservation. If I don't double book and the cancellation does go through I have no where to stay. The reservation is in less than 72 hours so I am cutting close for time. This website is also very misleading in tricking you into thinking you are booking through the hotel's website because the url is hotelname/reservationstays.com which makes it sound like its the hotel's reservation site.
I would just like to say how disappointed I was to arrive at my hotel, with reservation in hand, only to be told I didn't have a room available. The hotel told me to call my third party booking and take it up with them. I was put on hold for 35 minutes with reservations.com customer support, only to disconnected. When I retried the phone number, they put me back on hold for another 25 minutes before finally telling me that the only thing they could do was refund my money and it would take 7-10 days. I cam tell you that they charged my credit card immediately, so I don't see why they can't immediately refund my money. Disappointed all around. Never booking through them again!
Recently tried to cancel a 2 day Hilton reservation that I inadvertently made via this booking site because of a recent COVID diagnosis. The local Hilton did acknowledge that I had the reservations but refused to allow me to cancel my reservations even though my request was well in advance of normal cancellation deadlines "because the reservation had been made via a third party. I should have recognized this was a suspicious business operation because when I made my original request I never received a email confirmation of my reservations and my credit card was immediately charged for both nights including an additional "booking charge". I didn't realize there was a third party involved until I researched my credit card statement and found two toll-free numbers associated with the reservation. The first of these numbers in DE was no longer in service and the other was in Utah. The Utah number did answer my call but failed to provide any customer service.
Thought I was on the hotel site but was duped by their ad. Booked room and realized immediately and called to cancel because of excess fees and they refused to cancel it. The hotel told me they (Reservations.com) could cancel it but choose not to. Avoid this company at all cost!
How are they still in business. Read their reviews. One star rating. Class action lawsuits. They use deceptive practices to make you believe you are at the actual hotel website. They hide their fees. Their customer service sucks.
They some how hijacked my search and booked me at a different hotel by replicating their site so i believed i was dealing directly with Embassy Suites. Got to my hotel only to find out they didn't have my reservation. I tried calling reservation.com customer service to cancel and reschedule at the correct hotel. The obvious "I don't give a $#*! offshore person" did nothing. Wouldnt help me in any way. Talked to the hotel about it and they had heard my story before. They don't even like Reservations.com.
Tip for consumers:
Be extra careful when shopping on line. Make sure you are dealing with the hotel directly or with a serious third party that you have used in the past. Be diligent.
Terrible This company reservations.com they are the worst company. I canceled my reservation and they did not refund it I lost over $1,400 worst service I've ever had. I will never use them again. Don't use them!
The Cliff Notes... This is old, pre-covid... I opted to do a review on "Review Day"... as a quick visit I made to visit a friend in Venice FL and stay at a Marriott/Fairfield Inn, Venice was booked through Reservations.com. I am terrible checking my statements unless there is a real reason to do so. Trusting fool that I am. A few months, yes months later, I went back to the statements around the time of the visit looking for something else. I found two charges for Reservations.com and two charges for the Marriott/Fairfield Inn for the same time period. Oops! I contacted Capital One, my credit card company. NO help there. I contacted Marriott Customer Service who suggested Reservations.com as all the billing goes through them. Not sure why. The person at Marriott verified my stay. Very helpful. Reservations.com admitted they billed me twice because they entered my name two different ways and basically told me... TOUGH! You lose. Obviously no help there. So, I am sending this review... If you use them, BEWARE. Make sure you check your statements asap and not have money stolen from you as I did. Their BBB rating is abhorrent and now I know why.
I just happened to make a booking on reservation.com only to find out the the same booking is available at a much lower price on the hotels offical website or even booking.com.
Worst every customer service, bluntly resusing to price match indicates they are absolutely sham.
Yesterday I made a reservation through reservations.com and today I called them because I want to change the room from a King to 2 Queens and add my Marriot rewards number. Not Possible! What kind of service is this? The worst I have ever experienced! DON'T BOOK THROUGH RESERVATIONS.COM!
Deserve 0 stars! Tried to cancel a reservation, they refused after putting me on hold for 30 min and told me to get approvals from the hotel, which I did, and then told me to wait 7-10 business days and then refused my cancellation! They kept my $190 and didn't even credit me for another date! Awful company!
Do not fall into this trap! If you need to change your reservation (different date, different room, etc.) they will not change the reservation but rather rebook you so they can charge you their $19.99 fee for each reservation! Do yourself a favor and just use the hotel's actual site and stay clear of this site! Even after contacting customer service, they just tell you that is the fee they charge. Horrible experience!
They charge so much more than the actual hotel. I thought I was booking through the hotel directly because it looked like the Sheraton booking site but no. Bottom line, with all of their bs fees, it cost me about $300 more and when I realized my mistake and called them, they told me if I canceled, they wouldn't refund the money. Don't make the mistake I made. Avoid them and tell everyone you know to avoid this Florida-based booking site.
This site uses deceptive marketing on the internet - to make it look like you are booking directly with the hotel. I booked two rooms at the Menger Hotel in San Antonio - only to see the total - about $120 more than expected. After I checked - I saw that the booking was not with the hotel - and the fees had been added- so I cancelled. I then received a message - due to Covid - this might take some time to refund. I checked my credit card - both the charge and the credit are still pending - but a $19.99 fee is still there. The fee - is not prominently displayed - I only found out afterwards that this "fee" is non refundable.
Where is there a class-action lawyer when you need one - as this is a deceptive practice and needs to be stopped. First, they pretend with very clever domain name use - to look like the hotel. Then they charge you excessive rates and hit your credit card right away. After you notice and cancel, they keep $19.99 and do not promptly refund your card. What a rip-off!
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
