Rated People tripled my membership costs without even asking me, and I'm not happy. I'm not paying £200+ per month. I was on £180 per quarter, so that's a massive jump in fees. I don't understand why they've done this, I'm not happy about this at all and I want my money back, and I want them to stop trying to take money out of my account, and to cancel my membership and close my account. But their phones don't work?! And they don't reply to emails?!

Joined up just to have a look... Yea its as bad as the traders reviews would suggest. 60% of the "leads" pumped into your inbox that have no active email (undeliverable or misspelt address), no working telephone number (disconnected, no longer available) and chat functions that don't get a reply (because there isnt a person on the other end). 20% are jobs that were recycled and re posted by the website, meaning some poor customer is getting hindred of emails and calls about job that were done weeks ago. The remaining 20% are time wasters "just looking for a quote", or "wanting to see how much x, y or z is"... some might be genuinely seeking to get the work carried out but ive not met one yet. Prices are extortionate too.

The "highly recommended" builders and decorators were taken on as they claimed to be able to do all the jobs in the rennovation. The messed up laying floor tiles, blaming the uneveness of the floor. They turned 2 small screw holes in plasterboard into plate sized holes that they couldnt cover, ruining the painting of a wall, "the wall was uneven". They put down plastic sheet on the floors with duct tape, stripping the floor varnish. They got paint everywhere. We stopped them replacing an electrical heater when it became clear they had no clue about electrical works. Same for replacing a hob. We finally told them to stop working and leave before they caused more damage. They became verbally abusive and threatening when we then agued about the money owed for the work. Given the damage they caused, I wanted them to pay me... Discussing this experience with friends, others have had equally bad "highly recommended" tradesmen through this site.

Rated people are a disgusting unscrupulous company that will steal money from your bank account without permission, anyone thinking of dealing with them would be very foolish and should stay well away from these pack of thieves.

Please take no notice of these false reviews! That's if this review is even published I'm sure they will have tech guys on hand to remove any real reviews and uploading false reviews.

If you're a home owner please find your tradesman / woman by typing what trades person you need on google look at the reviews and get your two quotes from there. Or ask your friends and family for recommendations. Rated people are just a middle man who is profiting from tradespeople charging them for each job you guys post.

Trades people: guys invest in your own business do not use this company to generate work - the leads are poor and overpriced, on the initial call they tell you your not in a contract - they still take your money and come up with all the excuses under the sun why you can't cancel. The excuse they gave to me was I hadn't Canceled when I did was promised a phone call back from the manager on Friday never got one and today they took money out of my account with out my permission. If you are thinking of buying leads I would recommend my builder a pay as you go lead gen. DO NOT USE RATED PEOPLE! You have been warned!

We used rated people to find a tradesman to carry out work to remedy av damp problem.
Work was done and initially looked good, but damp returned after few weeks. The alleged trusted tradesman agreed to return to sort it out, but then ghosted calls! Rated people were no help whatsoever.
We ended up paying another tradesman who had to strip back plaster again and no membrane had been placed to stop damp coming back. Rogue traders don't have a look in with these and rated people were complacent in this! AVOID AVOID AVOID. WE MIGHT AS WELL HAVE OPENED OUR FRONT DOOR AND WATCHED THE MONEY BLOW DOWN THE STREET.!

Marquis Allan who promised to create a marvellous kitchen took the old kitchen out dumped it in my bedroom and having taken some money up front disappeared.
His Company ATD Home Improvements Bournemouth are cowboys builders, please do not invite them near your property.
Even when he promised to send the deposit to my account and I tried through the Small Claims Court to get my money back he ignored the Judgement.
So please do not contact them for any building work.

I was very impressed Essex Roofing Solutions.with quality of workmanship.
From begining to end they were impeccable in keeping the sight clean &,tidy, they are great team & would recommend then to friends & neighbors.

Needed a roof repair done quickly, he did a rough job of it and immediately hassled me for payment. After I paid him I asked him for a receipt for the money as it is part of probate for my late Aunt and I need to claim the money back. Then his phone number was unobtainable and repeated requests for receipt ignored. Rated People gave me no support and told me to go to Citizen's Advice. What is the point of a service which plainly does not verify tradespeople as genuine? Will never use them again.

Quality of their services hit the bottom. Difficult to contact customer service. Pay for long expired leads, get nothing in return. Many more complains. Decided to leave.

Hetas stove installer Steve Hill from Steve Hill & Stoves Flue systems (High Wycombe) is one to avoid. After starting work by coming to my house to commission a wood burning stove he left me waiting nearly three months and finally emailed me to say he could not do the job. He previously said the installation was perfect but had not noticed that the Flue was missing a flue adjuster which is now required by law...what a cowboy.
I called him and told him I would report him to Hetas so he changed his mind again and said he would do it, however later that night he rang me up and sounded very drunk on the phone and said he would not be doing the job and furthermore he would come over to my house and threaten me...i had to report the incident to the police. Stay away...in my opinion a dangerous and unstable chap who is not able to hold his drink.
Hetas have now arranged for a different stove installer to attend site and this new chap is very nice and is going a great job. Pity some people are so nasty and give a bad reputation to some trades.

I was taken in to hospital with a Hart condition, whilst I was in hospital a representative from rated people called me, I had asked her to cancel my account as I am very unwell, she asked me wat I would like to do with my account I told her to cancel it, she said that wasn't a problem. After 2 weeks they proceeded to take a further £600 from my account. I am now seeking legal assistance.

From the start with the call on Monday, to the finished job the following Monday, we could not fault the professional service. The team of 4 worked so efficiently and quietly to replace the flat roof all in one day. We would highly recommend them

Used Kevin Roberts, to fit shower room for elderly lady, Supposed to replace shower to suit combi boiler but put old electric one back after tiling, left rubble which he had been paid to remove, Unfortunately lady paid him before I had chance to check. Took advantage of an elderly lady

I hired roofer two times from this rated people website to repointing my roof ridges and gutter repositioning. Future proof roof owned by Jordan I hired him for repointing. Really unprofessional and made up more mess. Second time I hired assured roofing and guttering for gutter repositioning. James Newbury turned up for this job and he is really unprofessional no tools. My gutter is still full of water. Avoid this rated people.

Hired plumber to fit new taps, did well, so was happy. Said to call if there were any problems, which they would sort out no charge. When noticed leak coming from associated nearby fittings, I contacted them, who denied they were anything to do with them. I said they had only started to leak straight after the job was done. They still denied they had anything to do with it. I don't know; if I was a plumber I'd be down there and fix it no questions or money asked you know? Fed up with crap tradespeople. Fed up. Being qualified to do a job and doing it badly is worse than not doing it at all. No, I will not use Ratedpeople again.

Rated People do not sufficiently vet the tradespeople they advertise on their platform, they only check the current credit score of anyone applying to them. This means that an individual can open up a LTD company and apply with a clean record even if they have a dubious history and scores of scam companies behind them. They only trades they check for are plumbers on the Gas Safe register. No other competency checks are performed for other trades. It means that anyone with a screwdriver can pretend to be an electrician. The reviews on the platform can be easily faked and are not a true indication of competency. A rogue tradesperson can have people they know advertise fake jobs, then they pay for the lead, both pretend it's been done and submit a 5 star review. I am sure that the platform has a majority of reputable trades on there but if anything goes wrong, you are on your own. In this current day and age, people are crying out for quality trades, most of whom seldom need to advertise. So who are the people on here? We are currently taking a conman to court over electrical work, sourced via Rated People. He has falsely advertised NICEIC membership, he has owned, operated and closed 12 LTD companies in 7 years and this is "Vetting" for you. Beware. 2 Stars is for the fact that they removed this scum from their platform, he should never have been on there in the first place.
