Chris contacted me very quickly after posting my advert and arranged to call to look at the job. We received a quote straight away and the work was completed to a very high standard which consisted of preparing and painting fachias to the outside of the house. Chris and his workers were always polite, courteous and on time. They were very tidy, always clearing up after themselves.
We were delighted with the excellent job Chris and his workers did for a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this company
Joined Rated People, was told about lots of jobs for decorators, first month was £70+vat got zero jobs, so I reduced to £42 inc vat a month, still no jobs, if you can call decorate a whole house for £2000 I couldn't believe people took in, so under priced! No wonder people criticise the tradesmen, pay as little as possible and you will get the dregs of tradesmen, if you can call them that.
I am now in a 12 month contract, still no jobs, all way below what I would charge, but still they charge me.
Avoid at all cost, the "customers " have no idea what professionals charge, hence why they end up with cowboys.
Put a job out and got a reply. The guy gave his name and did the job so I paid. The work didn't last the day and buckled and leaked. Now I know his name is false and he had no I yention if doing a proper job and no full refund forthcoming. Rated people won't reply to my emails. You're safer closing your eyes and poking the old yellow pages.
Waisting money. Even you will contact someone most of job is impossible to do becouse of customers budget. For example one of my customers wish to build sliding door wardrobe with mirrors 2 m width under 1000 £. Only materials cost around 800. I have many experience like this after half year. So I can recommend it for people who like working for 40 pound a day :)
Rated people. Seriously dont bother.
Save your money and time. They dont vet leads.
I read a lead once that said " for hire one foxy lady who loves cxxk.
They will cancel youre account if you dont subscribe to paying massive yearly subscriptions.
They will not refund a lead price... no matter how foxy you are!
They employ staff who can only read from dummy cards.
Listen. The concept of rated is viable it is but the underhanded conduct of this company cant be forgiven.
Big money is being made by this company on a daily basis and its tradesmen and women are being abused.
Blind robin hoods robbing from the poor to feed the rich...
How long is left on the cards for rated people?
Me thinks not long!
Who manages this organization, these tiefs a goverment?
I know what I talking about after 13 years of membership.
Fake leads, dodgy customers, lying customer service - full of mess.
Funny low customers budget - I am not surpriced that most of houses are soo bad.
It should be banned and all of them jailed.
My enquiry to replace wood in my entrance hall was answered promptly and the joiner came out and gave me a quote that was very fair. The job was completed in good time to a very high standard. The guys were very friendly and were good at explaining what had to be done and they cleaned up after they had finished. I will definately use this company again.
I have been a member of rated people since 2010. In that time I have managed to gain work through them. The problem is the price of the leads are very expensive in my case around £60 each, and if the person putting the job on the website does not get back to you or has changed there mind then we get screwed as rated people don't allow a refund. This website has become a rip off and they don't have any respect for the trademens anymore greed has got the better of them and taking into consideration it was started up by a guy called Andrew Skipwith who once was ripped off himself he has let greed become the better of him.
Rated People do not sufficiently vet the tradespeople they advertise on their platform, they only check the current credit score of anyone applying to them. This means that an individual can open up a LTD company and apply with a clean record even if they have a dubious history and scores of scam companies behind them. They only trades they check for are plumbers on the Gas Safe register. No other competency checks are performed for other trades. It means that anyone with a screwdriver can pretend to be an electrician. The reviews on the platform can be easily faked and are not a true indication of competency. A rogue tradesperson can have people they know advertise fake jobs, then they pay for the lead, both pretend it's been done and submit a 5 star review. I am sure that the platform has a majority of reputable trades on there but if anything goes wrong, you are on your own. In this current day and age, people are crying out for quality trades, most of whom seldom need to advertise. So who are the people on here? We are currently taking a conman to court over electrical work, sourced via Rated People. He has falsely advertised NICEIC membership, he has owned, operated and closed 12 LTD companies in 7 years and this is "Vetting" for you. Beware. 2 Stars is for the fact that they removed this scum from their platform, he should never have been on there in the first place.
I wrote a one star review for a company who did a dreadful job in my garden and we're ordered by court to repay my money. Rated People didn't put it on the website. I messaged them 4 times through the website, no response. They responded to a review I put on Trustpilot, asked me to email and that the issues would be dealt with ASAP. I emailed 6th June and again 16th June. No response from Rated People. Avoid this website, they have no regard for the customer at all and support tradesmen rather than the people hiring them.
Just to inform people that if you short list and that is SHORT LIST someone for a job through this company - the tradesmen get charged from Rated People whether you take the tradesmen or not for the work... it is not fair. They are not the only site that do this. So please think before you short list anyone as it is costing them money and sometimes can be in the 100's per week.
Stay away from this site. I got a plumber from this site who did a bad job and cost me money and a lot of stress. I contacted the site to ask for help in contacting the plumber but they just kept asking me to use other tradesmen. Absolute rubbish.
Hetas stove installer Steve Hill from Steve Hill & Stoves Flue systems (High Wycombe) is one to avoid. After starting work by coming to my house to commission a wood burning stove he left me waiting nearly three months and finally emailed me to say he could not do the job. He previously said the installation was perfect but had not noticed that the Flue was missing a flue adjuster which is now required by law...what a cowboy.
I called him and told him I would report him to Hetas so he changed his mind again and said he would do it, however later that night he rang me up and sounded very drunk on the phone and said he would not be doing the job and furthermore he would come over to my house and threaten me...i had to report the incident to the police. Stay away...in my opinion a dangerous and unstable chap who is not able to hold his drink.
Hetas have now arranged for a different stove installer to attend site and this new chap is very nice and is going a great job. Pity some people are so nasty and give a bad reputation to some trades.
I used rated people to select a rated decorator. He was rude and I wrote a review. It was published. The next day the said review and another that was not favourable was no longer there. This leads me to believe that the service is a waste of time as the views shown are not representative.
The leads are expensive and most of them are duds. Rated People falls somewhere between the category of "parasites" and "scammers". Save your money, and stay well clear. What they are doing should be illegal.
I'm a customer in W. London, who needs 20m of closeboard fencing and concrete posts etc. I expect to pay the proper rate for a good job, but how do I find the tradesman to carry out the work? Lots of dodgy ratings websites.
Scam artists! Avoid!
If you're trade person please stay away from them. They will promise you alot to sign a contract with you but hardly give you a quarter from promising. You can't brake the contract and have to pay remaining months. And now the best part, they selling you a FAKE leads and act with you like a robot's. So save your money and stay away from fraud company!
Rated people are just a money making scam. None of the traders are are actually verified correctly. They didn't even ask for my public liability insurance or any other qualifications. All they wanted was the signup fee and I was all of a sudden a "rated person"
I had a company called Qualidec to do my decorating Peter Yates was his name & I have absolutely no qualms about recommending him to any one. He was professional with outstanding quality
Derek Plant.
Conmen selling lies and fake leads to Contractors and empty promises to the Customers...
Cowboys and Losers fancy to con Customers. Only 20% of Leads are real Customers! Contractors are wasting money paying for 80% of fake leads!
Answer: I know this doesnt answer your question but the very same thing happened to me on Friday 11. 09. 15. Same thing, I had been a member for almost two years and had nothing but almost 200 positive reviews. I think have spent just over £3000 to date. They dont give you a reason and when you call them they have the information but just wont give you anything. I cant imagine what I could have possibly done to have my account access revoked like this. It makes me feel like a criminal, but the most annoying thing is that they just wont tell me why. I have emailed them this morning but Im not expecting a reply. I too am going to do a SAR which will cost up to £10. It would be interesting to know who else this has happened to and what trade they belong to. I am a Heating Engineer. Ive been led to beleive that Rated People have done this to certain trades(plumbers I think) before when they have awarded a contract to a big company who then takes all that work. If this has happened to you as well then please leave your details and what trade you belong to. This just doesnt make any sense it bizarre.
Answer: I know right!
Answer: Rated people are in business with Experian and Experian are passing peoples credit reports on to rated people, and if your credit history isn't very good then rated people kick you off their site, illegal if you ask me, they need investigating and prosecuting
Answer: I have replied to jobs and they have never rang me back some of them false phone numbers some of them cost me £25
