I phoned them 2 weeks in advance to ask for my contract not to be renewed at the end of the first quarter, and they de-activated my account strait away. Sad that the contract cannot be terminated by the user without having to telephone them. The site is a clever concept, but too expensive to use for finding work.
This lead generator charges £40 per quarter plus a fee for each lead you accept, £16 on average, which would be fine except that they don't appear to vet the leads they send out, out of every 5 leads purchased i would get 1 that was good and the rest would either not respond to you or say "I don't need any one now" or "I simply wanted a rough idea of cost", then you would contact rated people for a credit on these duff leads and they would insist that you persue the lead for at least 5 days ( Ime not a salesman ime a decorator) before emailing them for said credit & about 2 weeks later if you are lucky you would receive your credit, in the intervening time you would have picked up more duff leads and on it goes. When you email a complaint they would reply with a sanctimonious reply as if they know more about my industry than i do and ive been in this trade for over 30 years. I rang them yesterday to cancel my membership and reminded them they still owed me 2 credits ( purchased leads that were duff) they told me that to get them i would have to subscribe for another quarter ( £40) and if i cancelled i would lose them regardless of the fact that i first emailed them for one of the leads a month ago and the other over 2 weeks ago and they woud not give me a monetary reimbursment. Rated people send out more leads than any similar company that i have dealt with so far and they let themselves down by not putting more into their vetting process and i have told them this countless times but to no avail.
Answer: I know this doesnt answer your question but the very same thing happened to me on Friday 11. 09. 15. Same thing, I had been a member for almost two years and had nothing but almost 200 positive reviews. I think have spent just over £3000 to date. They dont give you a reason and when you call them they have the information but just wont give you anything. I cant imagine what I could have possibly done to have my account access revoked like this. It makes me feel like a criminal, but the most annoying thing is that they just wont tell me why. I have emailed them this morning but Im not expecting a reply. I too am going to do a SAR which will cost up to £10. It would be interesting to know who else this has happened to and what trade they belong to. I am a Heating Engineer. Ive been led to beleive that Rated People have done this to certain trades(plumbers I think) before when they have awarded a contract to a big company who then takes all that work. If this has happened to you as well then please leave your details and what trade you belong to. This just doesnt make any sense it bizarre.
Answer: I know right!
Answer: Rated people are in business with Experian and Experian are passing peoples credit reports on to rated people, and if your credit history isn't very good then rated people kick you off their site, illegal if you ask me, they need investigating and prosecuting
Answer: I have replied to jobs and they have never rang me back some of them false phone numbers some of them cost me £25
