I WII NEVER use them again if I need to order something on-line. I thought same day delivery would be quicker then having a friend to pick up an order, since I'm sick-was I wrong. I placed the order at 6pm the prior evening thinking I'd recieve more order mid-day. I recived a text at 3pm the following day letting me know my order would arrive at 5. My first thought was, wow- it took them half a day to get my items together? THEN, the time kept changing. 5:30, 6, 6:30,7:05. I'm still waiting. When I contacted Petco they told me they use Door Dash so I contacted them, and got nowhere! Finally called my driver who told me he had over 5 orders and was driving all over Los Angeles. Umm, okay, what's the point of orderign from a local store if they're driving all over the city of LA! Granted, I am STILL waiting!

I am in the auto ship for dog food and several times I have had to adjust the frequency of my delivery, it is so difficult to get someone that speaks English, you get Sonia from the Philippines or Jenny from India, and just because they change their names they think they can help but NOOOO sometimes I have had to wait 4 days for a call back so I can speak with an American agent, this overseas people have no clue as to what to do and is frustrating that the whole experience can be awful, this is another example of the Corporate greed we are living.

I take my animals regularly to the Vet. However, I live in NV only part-time and Dr. Anderson at Vetco Petco indicated it had been a long time since my last visit. I explained that no, I go annually to the Vet back home. She further diagnosed my dog with a heart Murmur, recommendations for care exceeded $1800, which I thought was unreasonable for a heart work up and teeth cleaning. I opted for a second opinion. My dog, my dog in 10 years has never been sick, had never had any diagnosis and was scheduled today and the PetCo grooming; however he was declined services. I'm shocked. Dr. Anderson, makes a diagnosis on a 10 yr old dog and puts in her criteria no grooming? Weird. I'll take my dog elsewhere. I believe the standard of care is to see the Dr. Annually for shots. I believe most pet owners chalk it up to it's the Dr. advice and pay whatever, but only you can be your dog's best advocate. Unnecessary testing and cardio grams and even teeth cleaning can stress your dog out. I think weigh your options before treating your dog unnecessarily for the benefit of the Vet.

I like Petco!

I wanted to come here and leave a review because I think most reviews are left only after a bad experience. I really like my local Petco (Eureka, Ca). It's large, clean, organized, well-stocked and the employees are (surprisingly) knowledgeable, helpful and friendly (without coming off fake)

I LOVE getting the 10% discount for shopping and purchasing online and picking up myself at my local store. I only live 10 minutes from Petco so the entire experience is so easy, and the 10% discount is a big incentive for me.

I just did my first online order today through Petco for a rather expensive purchase; a Lay-Z-Boy dog sofa (I know, I know! Ridiculous!).

I chose to order it from Petco over every other online shop, including Wayfair, because
A) they had the best price - at least $25 less than everyone else
B) they got better reviews than Wayfair
C)I'm hoping if there are any issues or problems I'm not at just the whim of a corporation on the phone, I can get help via my local store (this is according to Petco).

The couch is due to arrive Tuesday Jan 27. When I receive it I will come back here and finish my review. Fingers crossed I'll be leaving 5 stars!

I was impressed with the customer serivce of this website. I ordered a large amount of rawhides, pigs ears and stocking stuffers for my Pomeranians, and they came within 4-days of order! I didn't even pay express shipping. The website was easy to navigate and I was able to order quickly.

I was worried about using PETCO.com because of all the scary reviews I found, but I did anyway because I could save $100 just from using the website to buy my ferret stuff instead of going in store. I ordered my products on a Saturday (little toys, bowls and a large cage) and knew it wouldn't be processed until the next business day. And when it was, everything arrived on that following Wednesday, which means everything took a total of three days! Which was absolutely wonderful! Not a thing missing, no hassle, no hidden awful secrets.

Then we went to pick up my ferret from a store and it was really nice compared to others we went to look at (we all know some can be pretty bad). The animals were clean, there were people to help, the manager was great and even gave me a picture of my new ferret they had on file along with all his paper work and vaccine records. They didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need or that was expensive. The manager even explained about if we have any troubles with the new ferrets to bring them back to him in 15 days to see what's going on at no charge to us. All in all I would say it was a wonderful visit and will be back!

The only thing I would complain about is that my PALS rewards isn't working, but as soon as I sent them an email they replied next day, explained what was happening and fixed it as soon as their system was updated.

Honestly its for the Cedar Rapids Store seems like every time I have gone there the employees are rude the last time I was there I was looking to buy my child a guinea pig they were on sale so I was very interested in buying but first of all if I'm gonna buy an animal I want to have interaction with it before I buy make sure it is gentle and not mean because I don't want my child bit the employee said I couldn't hold it unless I was 100% buying it and walked away I didn't get to explain my reason she just assumed I didn't want one this is not the only time Ive had them walk away while I am asking questions that was the last time I plan on going to that store I spend A LOT when I'm in pet stores but I refuse to in a place that has terrible customer service I prefer to go to Pet Smart so glad they are friendly and take their time with their customers!

Dog training program

Their dog training is no better than you can do yourself. Spend the money and get a real dog trainer in the end it will be cheaper and less stressful for you.

Petco is a good place to shop and has some great price's but I shop at PetSmart. They both have a variety of dog food as well as toys for them. There staff is there to help.

I have enjoyed both saltwater n freshwater fish for years, since the 90's. 125 gallon tank. I have purchased 4 guppies, 2 Cory cats, n 1 dwarf light blue gourami. Purchased them 2/11/23. Day by day 5 have died suddenly. I will never purchase anything from this company in the furture. The help at the Kettering Ohio location is poor! It's sad for the fish n totally heartbreaking to put ur trust n faith in a company's live fish to turn around n put them in the trash hours to days after spending ur hard earned money. They also have a lot dead fish in several freshwater tanks. That puts the ammonia through the roof, which makes it very hard for the fish to get oxygen to properly breathe. I know how to properly care for my fish. I take pride n caring for them a the goal is to enjoy for years to come. I do a 25% water weekly! If u try to replace ur fish they always say it the customers quality of water so, the 30 day return policy is garbage! A company may burn me once, that's it! I will look for a pet store that takes pride, integrity and applies a touch of love sprinkled with a friendly hospitality to their customers that is their bread n butter. Petco does have a great selection of pet supplies but we think most things are way overpriced.

We rarely get a discount on anything we purchase even with their discount card.

I placed an order for repeat delivery with Petco for dog food. What showed up was two bags of cat litter. I called Petco and was told there was nothing they could do and I should call DoorDash. I asked why should I call DoorDash if I placed my order through Petco. I was then told they don't have anything to do with the order and can't look it up. Even though I had my original order number and the order number of the incorrect delivery. I then attempted to chat with customer service and was told that their system says dog food was delivered. Basically I was lying. I told them to look at the picture the delivery driver took. It was cat litter! So now I have to prove to someone else that I'm not lying and the only solution they have is to issue a refund or have it shipped via ups. How about this! Don't have an online service for orders if you don't stand by the process. Don't contract with DoorDash if you don't verify the orders that was sent out. If a customer calls your store with the wrong order that was delivered. The store should be responsible for contacting DoorDash and having them send the driver back out. There is no way in hell I'm going to commit to a regular delivery order when this is the service you have. How about you hire me to work for Petco. I will revamp your process, review your suck $#*! contract with DoorDash and get your company back on track. Now I will go out of my way to pick up an order I politely asked you to deliver. Thanks Petco.

Poisonous Products

Very unhappy with Petco. My cat loves to go outside & has recently caught fleas. Went to Petco & purchased their "Advantage Flea & Tick Treatment Shampoo for Cats & Kittens." Used it on my cat & it almost killed her. She was dry heaving & coughing up foam. I had to give her a stomach neutralizer to get the poison out of her stomach. I'm so upset that they would have such a poisonous product on their shelf. The main ingredient in the shampoo is Pyrethrins. Use it on your cat and it causes seizures, makes them foam at the mouth, vomit, muscle spasms, and (apparently very regularly) death. How can they even sell a product like this in stores?

Looked into other reviews online & on MULTIPLE occasions the pet died from using this. Unbelievable that this corporation is more concerned about making their next dollar then what is in their products. If you actually cared about animals, products like this wouldn't be on your shelf.

Will not shop at Petco ever again. Will be choosing the local, all natural neighborhood pet store where they actually care what ingredients we give to our animals.

By the way, the flea shampoo didn't even work.

Found some great deals at Petco for my cat and the customer service was very helpful and attentive. Maybe that's just my local Petco but I go regularly and have good service always.

I recently bought a twin tailed Betta from your store and I explicitly asked an employee if it could be kept in a community tank with other non-aggressive fish and he replied yes. Seeing the Betta swim in the store tank with 10 other guppies, I decided to believe him. I have been keeping a healthy community tank for about a year. Shortly after introducing the Betta to my tank, it had it's back fin torn. I isolated it for treatment immediately but it still died.
The Betta must have carried some sort of disease because soon afterwards, one of my platy fish died, as well as all three neon tetras. A day later my cory catfish died and my lyre-tail guppy is about to. Nearly my entire fish tank has been killed off. This has been an extremely depressing experience for me as I really enjoyed keeping fish. I am beyond disappointed with Petco and will NEVER be visiting their store again. Not only have I wasted time and money on their fish, I have been completely disheartened waking up each morning and seeing another dead fish stuck to the filter.
I strongly advise you to NEVER buy their products.
