Bought a rug using my husband's account but paid with my MasterCard. Rug came and smelled acrid and seemed to shed some kind of dirt when walked on barefooted. Did an online chat and was told if product was not as described or was in someway defective they would pay return shipping and they emailed a prepaid return authorization and label. They received the return and emailed confirmation of same and deducted the return shipping from the credit they said they were issuing. The credit never posted to the MasterCard and I contacted overstock via on line chat inquiring when the credit was issued and when I could expect it to show on the MasterCard. Got a rep who pulled up the order, asked who she was speaking to and the billing address. I told her my name she said company policy didn't allow her to give info to anyone but the account holder. Told her it was my credit card and the same billing address as my husband's and they had no problem taking the charge from someone other than the account holder and I wanted to speak to a manager.
Manager logs on, says hi, I explain that I want to know when the credit will be received and he gives me the same "can't give info to anyone over than the account holder.
Now, mind you, I'm online so I could say I was Donald Trump and they wouldn't know the difference so I type this reply..."so, theoretically I can end this chat and sign on and request an online chat with another customer service (the term makes me chuckle even as I type it) and say I am my husband and get the info".
Pause online as he ponders this and then types back that credits usually take 3-5 business days.
Not even going to get into why I am paying return shipping, just a teachable moment not to buy anything ever again from overstock and to write this review to warn anyone thinking of buying from them that it really is not worth the effort and you don't know what you are getting until it shows up and if it isn't what it should be, good luck on your second career talking to customer service.
The prices might seem fair and the products may photograph well BUT when you receive your product in my case two nesting tables without the package of screws to put it together and a dent/ paint missing from the corners... you'll be full of regret! I also ordered a TV media center and I KNOW ITS GOING TO BE A NIGHTMARE! I'm not a strong woman so taking the big box of two nesting tables to UPS for a return isn't going to be easy but if they screw up my TV/Media Center Order I'll be in an even worse predicament! How I wish I'd never gone on their site... EVER!
I am very disappointing. I bought train boots from overstock.com these boots came with a hole on the sole and are not water proof, making walking in the rain the worst experience. When contacting overstock i was faced with the worst customer service, very unimpressed.
Received my navy blue women wide brim casual hat yesterday and was extremely impressed and at awe with the looks, quality of hat and quality of the ribbon. I paid only $9.99 + shipping. I will be ordering again in the near future.
I have had the worst experience ever with your customer service representatives and other staff. I got a new table and chairs which I loved until I noticed the marble table is cracked and all the wood on the bottom is coming off. I sent pictures and was told I would get a replacement. Then I was told my replacement was lost. Then I was brought a headboard?!?!? Then I was told they can't deliver a new table without new chairs? And now they are refusing to give me a refund. I need help asap this has been going on for almost 4 weeks now and not one person can help me.
Dishonest culture abounds here. Placed an order. Said they would ship immediately. They didn't Lie #1. Contacted them thru chat on Saturday morning to find out where it was and it still had no tracking number. Asked them to cancel. Said they couldn't Lie #2. Only when I threatened with the BBB did they 'remember' a 'specialist ' at the Warehouse to contact. Asked for a manager. There are none apparently, Lie #3. CALLED the 800 number where someone put me on hold and then hung up on me.
Overstock would be a better online shoppin place if they don't make you go through hoops to return items that are not as describled. I purchased a grey rug which was actually blue so when I used their automated system, I was asked to pay for shipping. I had to write and call before I overstock sent me a postage paid UPS sticker. Amazon just accepts justified returns but overstock makes you spend an extra 15 minutes before they will do the saem
Overstock used to be a great site until they inflated their prices. Many (even sale) prices are higher than you can get going directly through the vendor.
I should have known better. The last time I ordered anything from them was a tree table. The first one had a big hole in the middile of the "table" - no good. OK - I returned and ordered another after getting assurances that the next one really would be a table. They got me. This one had a bigger hole in the middle of the "table". Fitness for intended use it was not. And now - ordered a brown umbrella stand and they sent me gray. Turns out they were out of brown and now it's taken me hours to straighten out. This company is just plain disrespectful. They think their customers are fools and I've become convinced that they must be right! Never again!
We ordered a bedset for our daughter and after 2wks of not receiving it but took our money out of our account I called ups to find out where it was. Ups hadn't even received it! We were told to call the company in which I did. The lady couldn't even find our order in their information. I gave all the numbers and dates needed and she was clueless. We then stated we wanted a refund and she screws that up too! I checked to make sure because they haven't followed through with anything. She apparently requested to find our order not refund us. When I checked our order status, it stated to return the product to an address. How can I return a product I never received?! So call #2 but the specialist seemed like she knew what she was doing so hopefully we will have our refund soon... I will never order from them again and advising friends, family, and all those who read this save yourself the headache and do not order from them.
I wrote a review on Overstock's website but they have chosen not to post it and have left it in pending status for weeks (I assume to avoid the negative review). Here is what you should read before you buy any beauty products--or any products--from Overstock.com:
Not happy w/Overstock's Customer Service AT ALL. I'd rather spend the extra cash at *** At least I get my product. Plus, if there is ever an issue with delivery *** always provides excellent customer support. In the past, when a product has not arrived or has come damaged, etc. they've replaced the item immediately and even give me a discount or the product for free, etc. I try to be a fair customer but my package is 5 days late, which means I can't take it on my trip (evidently it's lost in the mail) now it is going to take a total of 12 additional days to get the product after a trace, reorder, returns, etc... and not a single discount or anything was offered... by either of my two different customer service reps. Never ordering from this site again.
Update: I received the replacement product that was sent to me and the consistency is different than the sample that was given to me by the doctor's office. Buyer beware!
I've used Overstock a lot over the last 15 years and there have been times that I did purchase something that wasn't a "winner" and for the most part, Overstock has always helped make it right. Just last month after something didn't arrive on time I checked with the customer service dept, just to find out why it had not arrived. Turns out it was out of stock and would now be arriving in a few days... No biggie, but the customer service rep. Said we would like to credit your account $20 for the delay... How nice of him to offer!
I purchased an item and when it arrived, it was completely different than described. In returning the item, these criminals still charged me a restocking fee even though the apathetic customer service representative confirmed that the item was different than shown.
This was several years ago and I still stick with my own policy of never ordering from this charlatan company ever again.
They do what they say they do and sell a lot of overstocked merchandise and you can often get that merchandise at 30-40% off. The "Great Deals" are usually on smaller items. We have gotten patio umbrellas from them for $35 that normally cost $100. Pretty fun and easy site to use.

I have bought many things from overstock.com. I purchased many sets of king sized sheets - all of which were wonderful quality and a good price. I purchased DAWGs shoes for a great low price. I was very happy with most of the purchases. Only once was I disappointed with the quality of an item and they refunded my money easily.
I purchased Santa Cruz Outdoor Brown Wicker Sofa Set by Christopher Knight Home from them. It delivered after weeks and that too with broken legs. When I called them for return, they asked me to spend the money myself and sending this garbage to them back to get my refund. I spend again $400 for sending and at last i got my refund. I found the same product from Amazon it was little costly but changed my mind to place somewhere from Macy's or similar. Meanwhile, i found https://www.brandcruz.com/ website, I tried to search review online, I could find many reviews about it, Keeping God name at last ordered.
They delivered me same sofa very nice packed within 10 days. I thanked them and I cant believe I got this deal at much cheaper price and quickly delivered to me.
Overstock is a good company. My friends and I have bought stuff at Overstock and were pleased. The shipping was free and if there is a shipping charge, it is very little.
If they can sell on ebay, after fees to ebay and paypal at the same price as their site something is wrong. Fees on ebay, including paypal, are from 13% to 11%. On higher priced items this can add up. Either they are ripping us off on their site or losing money on ebay. No brainer as to which.
I have bought Furniture, area rugs and more from them-they have special discounts and free shipping on some items are a great return policy-the quality of throw rugs and sheets/towels are especially good-some items do need assembly but I have had people ask where I bought things-and marvel at price and quality
Answer: Hey, I would be very careful. I have transacted with Overstock three times and I don't believe there is as much security in terms of guarantee as with Amazon. And, if you buy items fulfilled by Amazon (meaning the product ships from Amazon's warehouse) you are even more guaranteed. For example, I bought some dinner napkins from an Amazon seller, fulfilled by Amazon. They were not what they were supposed to be and Amazon issued me a credit immediately and scheduled UPS to pick up my item to return. I'm very confident that with Amazon you will get quality service and if the product is not as described or substandard you will be in better hands especially with Amazon fulfilled items. Overstock is just not up to par and I wouldn't purchase something like a medicated cream from Overstock until they get it together.
