I ordered four tickets to a concert at Darien Lake, paid for express delivery only two of my tickets showed up and they were late. After following they're directions to T they made me wait 8 days before I finally contacted them again and then conveniently the same day shipped my tickets 2 hours later. I received no refund after paying for express delivery that I did not get, this was the absolute worst ticket buying experience I've ever had.
Easy fast process. I would definitely use this service again. The only annoying part is this comment section where they are forcing me to make my review comment at least 100 characters long. They don't have a counter either so you just keep guessing until you reach 100.
Service fees seem unreasonably high, especially for a digital download. Just over $14 service fee per ticket on tickets that cost $39 each, plus an additional $7.50 handling fee, and I am printing out my own tickets...
This site is so easy to navigate & find everything you need. It made planning for this event super easy and I received my tickets instantly via the online download. Ill definitely use it again future events.
I live 800 miles from Chicago and the Show "Hamilton", so we wanted everything completed well in advance. For my daughters birthday, I purchased 2 tickets thinking they were good seats. It wasn't until the tickets arrived, did we find out there was an "obstructed view" disclaimer on the tickets. I called the theater to find out for that row, the balcony blocks 25% of the upper stage, and we might have to look around a pole. I am in the middle of fighting it through my credit card company. Onlinecitytickets stated in their defense "All purchase details were provided to the customer before checking out". The view obstruction was not stated until the tickets arrived. I have since purchased great tickets from Ticket Masters. The deceptive practices of Onlinecitytickets I have read from this site, and my own experience deserve a Class Action Lawsuit. The sad part is "they would only open up again under a new name". Art from Kansas
This web service made the purchase of tickets very easy but the processing charges are horrendous. My wife was so keen to see the Train concert, I swallowed these charges since its a birthday gift. In normal circumstances, I would have shopped elsewhere.
Purchased tickets for Wicked and was given "comparable" seats! Paid 675.00 for 4 tickets. Had no idea of final cost until I hit submit. This place has the worst customer service. Would not recommend this to anyone.
These folks are a resale marketplace which means they buy tickets earlier and then resale with an extra 60$(USD) service fee per ticket, That's insane guys!. If they stop buying earlier we can still buy those tickets from the official seller. No, no, no, I am not going to help this company make money out of nothing.
Quick and easy process. I like the fact that they send an instant e-mail confirming that you have received your electronic tickets, and provide a way to respond if there is an issue. I had no issue, and it worked seamlessly. Also, we all don't like add-on or additional charges, but these were reasonable; not exorbitant like some other ticket brokers (yes, you StubHub and Ticketmaster). So, I like this group. Better, for sure.
This website specifically hid the fact that the tickets I bought were limited view, then they refused to either refund me or fix the tickets. Their customer service was completely condescending and unhelpful. Never buy from here!
PayPal was an option but the site would not let me use it. I think your service charges are crazy especially since it's all done on computer and email. I could have bought almost another ticket for what I paid in service charges
This business is a disgrace. They resell tickets from individuals who hoard tickets as soon as they are made available and then hang on to them until the last minute. So as the customer you're left biting your fingernails the day of your show wondering if you're ever going to get your tickets. And then when you contact customer service they say things like "They're willing purchases. We disclose that delivery dates are not guaranteed and that tickets may be delivered up to the day of an event within our sales terms. We ask prospective purchasers to review this information. I assume the majority of them do, understand and wish to finalize the purchase anyways."
GARBAGE COMPANY. Will never be doing business with them again.
These folks evidently don't have the tickets in hand when they send them. Mine arrived a day later than promised, which is probably not that big of a deal, except i was supposed to be on the road to Nashville tonight but had to wait on the tickets. Still resolved without getting the company involved, so I give 4 stars. The fees charged are higher than I'd expect & not revealed until you've already agreed to the purchase. This should be the other way around.
So my daughter surprised me with tickets to a P! Nk concert last Saturday. When I asked how she got tickets to the sold out show she said "online". I immediately freaked because I know about all the scams out there working for a concert venue. She said it was real easy and the price was pretty fair. (We had box seats that were fantastic!) I immediately checked their reviews as I had never heard of this company. I even called and spoke to a super nice representative that reassured me that they offered a 100% guarantee. Then I held my breath the whole time in line to get in. Got the green light and knew I had to give this company a review. I would definitely do business with Online City Tickets again!
I received a 20% discount offer if I purchased $200.00 or more, however I had to split my order into two orders because I could not get the amount of tickets I needed with one purchase. So I then called customer service which is an automated joke, got nowhere, left a message no response as of yet. Still did not receive the discount that was offered either.
Not sure how they have such high reviews but they probably created fake ones! This site is a scam! Be careful when buying tickets also because there's no cancellations, exchanges, or refunds! And they won't help you if you have any issues! Not worth risking! There are other legit sites out there!
Easy to use site and review seat selections. Same section and row, but 1 price was 328 the other 344, so chose 344 each for 2 tickets. In checkout service change went from $100 to $134. Fell cheated, but got link to down load, and now have paper copy. 3 hours later tickets went up about $150 each. So glad ordered when I did. Wonder if performer gets any of this extra money the site gets out of buyers?
I wish our legal system better protected us from deceptive practices. This company using embedded links at venue websites to take people to their website. They then have a banner designed to look very similar to Ticketmaster when you are browsing. They do not disclose fees (20% of ticket price?!) in an easily viewable place on that landing page. The website does not work well with mobile phones and I suspect they designed it that way--so you can't see the fine print. I disputed with PayPal and they decided that this scam artist website adequately disclosed the fees and their no refunds policy. (And I'm not doing business with PayPal anymore because I'm very uncomfortable with the protection they offer users if this is how they came out on a black and white dispute.)
Little nervous about spending as much as i did and then getting a screen shot from someone else's phone. It will break my son's heart if they don't work when we get there. Customer service was very helpful. Lots of complaints about the fees from other reviews but if you actually read all if the literature they provide you they explain that the price of the tickets goes to the seller and the fees go to online city tickets for updating the website and paying their employees. That's business. How would they be able to provide the service otherwise. Now let's hope its not all a scam. I don't have a lot of money so thus is a big deal for my son.
There was a 10 dollar fee for each ticket which was very clearly labeled but im not sure exactly why i had to pay it, and the prices seemed to be a few dollars more or less than they were listed as, but i got my tickets right away as advertised
Answer: In my case, they sent e-mail that the tickets would be forthcoming. When I failed to receive them the week before the concert, per e-mail download as promised, I called their #, the person on the other end told me that it was will-call at the box-office with the copy of the e-mail I needed to bring. The box office told me that as a 2nd line seller, they did not keep them there. When I called to ask why they did this to me and demanded re-imbursal, they sent the tickets per e-mail download THE DAY AFTER THE CONCERT. They tried to cover their tracks with the credit card company, the problem for them was that the time stamp of their sending the tickets reflected the day after the concert. So essentially, they are not even competent as rip-off artists.
Answer: So sorry to hear you have been conned by this outfit. Apparently sometimes they DO send valid tickets, so I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I suggest you tell your credit card company (by phone and IN WRITING) that you are disputing this charge. Also tell everyone you know to avoid this rip-off company. I know this doesnt help you now, but in the future buy tickets only from Ticketmaster (I've never had a problem with them). Good luck.
Answer: I couldn't even open the download so I called the number and all I got was an answering system to send email and I did but no reply from them so the next day a call about 50 times until I got someone. After getting transferred to 3 different people and waiting about an hour for the supervisor the guy told me no refunds are allowed but money is 100% guarantee if it doesn't work at the time of the event. So I'm praying to God they are good the event isn't until the end of November
Answer: They are scoundrels. I know where their office is and went by there recently. I am laying out a plan.
Answer: If you have already purchased your tickets from this outfit, good luck. They sent me tickets for a concert in Tennessee and I asked for and live in Florida. They said it was MY mistake and that I asked for TN. They supposedly tried to resell the tickets and couldn't so I was out $300.00 for two tickets. They have something like 130 complaints and are a scam outfit. Next time order elsewhere and good luck with these tickets.
Answer: I just cancelled my order because they never sent the tickets. At least you got yours so maybe they will be okay. I would call the arena where the event will be and ask them how many issues they have had with this company. I emailed five times and they always sent an automated response back. Then, when I was in a meeting at work they finally called and the number just read, "33333" when they called me. No return phone number... very strange. They left a message to call them so I did immediately after my meeting (15 minutes)... the automated system was up and did not allow me to speak with a person. Thus far, I have never spoken to a real person when I call their number. I disputed the purchase, got my money back and bought tickets for much less at StubHub. I was surprised because my last tickets at Stubhub were kind of expensive... but these tickets (McCartney) were not too crazy expensive. Anyway, best of luck, and I would make a back up plan.
Answer: You will get your tickets, but they will likely have someone else's name printed on them. Worst of all, they will most likely not be honored at the gate/box office. My advice is to get a refund NOW and buy tickets from a reputable outlet like Ticketmaster. City Online are thieves and scammers. See my review about James Taylor concert in Norfolk, Virginia.
Answer: Contact the venue, give them all the details on the tickets received and verify if U will be able to legitimately use the tickets, considering the issues with this company that are so overwhelming. My experience reviewing all the people who describe their issues with them is that even if the tickets are usable, the overpayment is so excessive that it would have been better dealing with the regular ticket outlet for the venue.
Answer: Yes Ann, you will get your tickets. You just over paid by a HUGE amount... but other then that, the company is legit. They are just robbers the way they do it... thats all. Have a good time and yes, at least now you learned a lesson (like all of us on this site);-)
