Was able to get good seats for a sold out concert at a decent price. Nice! Service fee was a bit pricey, but still happy that I could find tickets. I should have bought them when I had the opportunity when they first went on sale... oh well
My mistake for not researching prior to buying, but I really thought I was buying from a reputable ticketmaster. Somehow I get redirected when trying to purchase online. I received an e-mail that tickets would be e-mailed to me 3 days before event and didn't have any seat numbers. I knew something was wrong. I called and they could not refund me, even when it was same day cancellation. I disputed with my credit card right away and hopefully it will be taken care of. I called the event venue and was able to purchase tickets for half the price of this site. Just don't do it!
Buyer be aware: Your seat assignments may not show up until you purchase and download or receive your tickets. Also (in my case), the name of the original buyer is on the tickets I plan to give as a gift. I've got a bit of explaining to do but must admit the seats are wonderful if no one is already sitting there on performance night!
You pay a lot of money for tickets and then they just send you what ever they "feel" like sending! After reading these reviews now I am worried I won't even be able to get into the concert with the "tickets" I purchased from them! I wish I would have read these reviews before I spent so much through this scam company!
I was more than a little nervous about being able to use the tickets with no problems. However everything went smoothly, no issues and had a wonderful night at the show. Will definitely purchase from Online city tickets again.
I was able to book my tickets to event and see general area where seats will be located. Only know that they are first row balcony but not specific seats. Charges for booking service and e-tickets are too high.
Their phone line does not connect to an actual person. It just loops you around through different options.
They charged almost double the actual cost of the concert tickets. They don't issue refunds. I reported them to CBC Marketplace.
Everything appeared very quick, smooth, straight forward, except advanced nod on the $18.35 extra per ticket processing fee. That seemed rather high to me, when the ticket pricing within sections was all over the place. The process was smooth, but the ticket price I quoted to friends was $60 not $79.+. Would have been nice to see the service charge BEFORE ticket confirmation... Just saying it's a wild card amount. Otherwise, all good.
The transaction was nice and smooth until I realized that I paid an extra $75 for 3 tickets. I could have almost bought another ticket for that price. Too bad there isn't a way either decrease the "service" fee or allow me to pick them up at will call. I guess I can't complain too much considering the 3 seats right next to me they were selling for $100 more
The website was efficient and user friendly for buying two tickets, which cost $94 each to see Lewis Black. I was shocked, however, when the total cost of $252.84 was revealed on my "agree to pay" screen. Sixty-five dollars in fees? For what, Added Dealer Profit? I guess I will have to get accustomed to living in our corporate-owned oligarchy where the economically powerless are extorted without mercy or regulation. I hope Lewis is funny enough to justify the cost of two months' food for a family of four.
It is honestly ridiculous that this website charges you three times the face value of the ticket, then gives them to you only two days before the event even though I purchased them three months in advance. Stay away at all costs, customer service is very inept and won't help at all. Use Literally any other ticket broker, their fees are outrageous and the company is awful.
If you enjoy getting ripped off, This ticket agent is for you. I bought 4 very expensive seats for my family to a Steve Martin/Martin Short concert only to find out at the venue that 2 of the seats were unusable (because you needed to have a wheelchair)! Unbelievable! After contacting them, they said they were not at fault. I have since stopped payment with my credit card co and I'm spreading the word on how unethical and illegal this company is.
I am a wee bit annoyed that I was required to complete the post purchase survey and now this review, before being able to finalize my order or my receipt confirmation. Providing feedback should be a choice. In a big hurry today, so would have opted out this time. Sort of took away from how easy and fast it was to order the tickets.
I purchased 4 tickets at $143 each ($572 total) but got charged almost $766! To have $194 in service fees on 4 tickets is just ridiculous. There was no where on the online form that stated this would be the fee. If there had been a notification I would have purchased our tickets somewhere else. Buyer BEWARE! I will never buy from them again!
Are they serious? Joke is on me for not seeing it while ordering G&R tickets from my mobile device. Was shocked to see an extra $448 show up on my credit card bill, plus they still charge you for shipping--another $14 dollars for 4 paper tickets! These guys are the WORST!
I have no problem paying a service fee for the convenience of getting tickets online. But 30% is outrageous and just plain profiteering. That's wrong. I also blame the venues that refuse to even sell tickets at their own box office any more. They're obviously getting a cut of the service fees that these sites are charging. Sad...
Explain to me why this company needs to charge over 60.00 PER TICKET for a service fee. That's right! 120.00 plus price of your tickets and of course the tax. I was able to print my tickets without difficulty however. This is a concert we really wanted to see badly. So I just closed my eyes hit accept then took a shot of vodka!
The agent was very helpful. Finding the best tickets available in my price range. Making sure I knew all the guarantees and exactly what to expect. I am Hard of hearing and He spoke slowly so that I could understand him (he has an accent). Overall it was a great experience.
Just realized that I have been ripped off by an unscrupulous ticket seller! We paid $204 for 2 tickets plus $61 for a service charge and $6.95 for email delivery. When I printed the tickets they said "$56!" We paid $102 each. I then went to the actual venue ticket office and tickets in the same section are selling for $59. It was my big mistake for not reading these reviews first and just assuming that I would get a fair deal. What a despicable company!
I bought tickets to go see Green Day in Hamilton. I was crazy excited to see that I could get floor tickets for 66$ from a preferred reseller. Great! Awesome bought the tickets, says my total is 176 and change, my credit card gets charged for over 200 bucks! I just wish the site would clearly tell you if its US funds right away. But from what I see it only tells you in bold just before you click the accept button, and on your invoice.
Answer: In my case, they sent e-mail that the tickets would be forthcoming. When I failed to receive them the week before the concert, per e-mail download as promised, I called their #, the person on the other end told me that it was will-call at the box-office with the copy of the e-mail I needed to bring. The box office told me that as a 2nd line seller, they did not keep them there. When I called to ask why they did this to me and demanded re-imbursal, they sent the tickets per e-mail download THE DAY AFTER THE CONCERT. They tried to cover their tracks with the credit card company, the problem for them was that the time stamp of their sending the tickets reflected the day after the concert. So essentially, they are not even competent as rip-off artists.
Answer: So sorry to hear you have been conned by this outfit. Apparently sometimes they DO send valid tickets, so I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I suggest you tell your credit card company (by phone and IN WRITING) that you are disputing this charge. Also tell everyone you know to avoid this rip-off company. I know this doesnt help you now, but in the future buy tickets only from Ticketmaster (I've never had a problem with them). Good luck.
Answer: I couldn't even open the download so I called the number and all I got was an answering system to send email and I did but no reply from them so the next day a call about 50 times until I got someone. After getting transferred to 3 different people and waiting about an hour for the supervisor the guy told me no refunds are allowed but money is 100% guarantee if it doesn't work at the time of the event. So I'm praying to God they are good the event isn't until the end of November
Answer: They are scoundrels. I know where their office is and went by there recently. I am laying out a plan.
Answer: If you have already purchased your tickets from this outfit, good luck. They sent me tickets for a concert in Tennessee and I asked for and live in Florida. They said it was MY mistake and that I asked for TN. They supposedly tried to resell the tickets and couldn't so I was out $300.00 for two tickets. They have something like 130 complaints and are a scam outfit. Next time order elsewhere and good luck with these tickets.
Answer: I just cancelled my order because they never sent the tickets. At least you got yours so maybe they will be okay. I would call the arena where the event will be and ask them how many issues they have had with this company. I emailed five times and they always sent an automated response back. Then, when I was in a meeting at work they finally called and the number just read, "33333" when they called me. No return phone number... very strange. They left a message to call them so I did immediately after my meeting (15 minutes)... the automated system was up and did not allow me to speak with a person. Thus far, I have never spoken to a real person when I call their number. I disputed the purchase, got my money back and bought tickets for much less at StubHub. I was surprised because my last tickets at Stubhub were kind of expensive... but these tickets (McCartney) were not too crazy expensive. Anyway, best of luck, and I would make a back up plan.
Answer: You will get your tickets, but they will likely have someone else's name printed on them. Worst of all, they will most likely not be honored at the gate/box office. My advice is to get a refund NOW and buy tickets from a reputable outlet like Ticketmaster. City Online are thieves and scammers. See my review about James Taylor concert in Norfolk, Virginia.
Answer: Contact the venue, give them all the details on the tickets received and verify if U will be able to legitimately use the tickets, considering the issues with this company that are so overwhelming. My experience reviewing all the people who describe their issues with them is that even if the tickets are usable, the overpayment is so excessive that it would have been better dealing with the regular ticket outlet for the venue.
Answer: Yes Ann, you will get your tickets. You just over paid by a HUGE amount... but other then that, the company is legit. They are just robbers the way they do it... thats all. Have a good time and yes, at least now you learned a lesson (like all of us on this site);-)
