The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

I've sold quite a bit on OfferUp and was very happy with everything until now.
A customer makes an offer, I accepted the offer, printed the label, and shipped it off like so many times before.
3 days later I get a message from OfferUp saying that shipping has been extended and that if I do not ship the item, the sale will be canceled. Odd, because I can easily click on the previous message sent by OfferUp and view the tracking information. Tracking states that it is in transit.
So I go looking for a customer service phone number. There is no number or email anywhere on the site. Any "contact us" button loops you back to a page full of unhelpful articles. I finally find a phone number on a website called "pissedconsumer". Great.
I call and call and call. No answer.
So I decide to respond to an email they went previously about a different item. I got several auto responses back... so I guess we'll see.
As it stands now, the customer will get his August smart lock and I will not be paid for it. If this changes I will edit this review, but I'm not hopeful after reading the other reviews.
If this does not get resolved, I will stop selling on OfferUp all together and stick with eBay.
I have a collectible Knights Templar sword I was told that it was dangerous and prohibited as I see machetes pocket knives as well as a gun on OfferUp as if those items are not dangerous and they have been posted for quite some time OfferUp has the worst support team if you even want to call it that and I was scammed from purchasing something from out of state so I posted the person and I got reprimanded from OfferUp stating inappropriate behavior so ridiculous
Used offerup and meet the person at the Greenwood mall every tho it was a busy place and a lot of people it still happened and their support team don't care here is the person that robbed me
I had started alittle business on offer up everything was good and all of a sudden I was removed from offer up for no reason at all and no answers when I email it sucks
A month of having nice items on there at good prices and I'm lucky to get a few views a week. I think I'm ready to delete my listings and the app, too. What a dead end!
-0- customer service if you have any question-I tried to use twitter to contact *******@offerupsupport, received an initial response within several hours, then nothing, like they closed the doors, gave everyone a week off, no reply to follow up requests, Seller and Buyer beware-if you have an issue, you will get ZERO support.
They have no live person to speak to, literally no contact number and no email to complain to if things go wrong, and with Offerup, things often go wrong. Besides disregarding the customer completely (both buyers and sellers) you can only sell of you use a phone as the PC website fails to recognize sellers nor has any way to post. If you sell to someone to mail, they charge you 10% and also make their own method of shipping. Neither the customer nor the buyer have any choice of how to ship and they undercharge the amount so the buyer is often stuck with the loss, and again, NO ONE to complain to. Its very poorly run and they don't seem to care since there is no one to talk to. Stupid and childishly put together amateur waste of time.
I have sold a few items very quickly and met some incredible people. But be aware I ran into a scammer who tried to send me a Certified Check claiming only way to pay. He would have cleared my bank account if I would have deposited it
I buy and sell a lot online and overwhelmingly positive experience; this was my first experience with OfferUp. I purchased an antique shaving mirror from a seller CA. Paid A LOT for it because it's exactly what I'd been looking for. Questioned if shipping was really possible, seller said yes. He sent it with NO protection, didn't make the box fragile and NO insurance mailed all the way to MA. I am horrified. He is not taking any responsibility and I cannot get an answer or help or REFUND from OfferUp. Convinced the whole company is a scam. I can't process a for buyer protection because "someone" already did. Hmmmmm, wonder who that could be? Thinking the seller.
Absoulutely the most difficult site to work on/with. Customer sent me her email, they removed it b/4 I could respond. Act issues to abundant to continue. Became so difficult I gave up mailed the item (free of charge) to the recipient paid the shipping charges myself. Right now I'm working on removal of my acct and posts. Don't want anything more to do with this OfferUp Nightmare.
Pretty much everything I've had to sell was on OfferUp. I've only had about four sales so far but, they all where on OfferUp and Craigslist together with getting more viewers here!
Why is using offer up so difficult? I buy and sell many things weekly on craigslist, not one single issue in MANY YEARS. Your site is very user unfriendly. Nothing seems to work. I'm quiting before it costs me $$, like so,so,so many others out there
Everybody please do yourselves a favor. Don't even try
1. I thought I was making a one-time payment but it turned out to be a "subscription" that required opting out.
2. When I was billed for a second month, I tried to opt out but couldn't figure out how, so I deleted all my information.
3. My credit card expired, so I figured I was safe. When I renewed my credit card, that information was routed (Amazon > Apple > Offer Up) and within hours I was billed for a third month.
4. I requested a refund. It was refused by a bot in a matter of seconds.
5. I went online and to learn how to deactivate my account, and did. They got an extra $40 bucks from me and an enemy.
I paid the "promote fee" and the app simply removed my offer. There's no way to contact support to complain (link is broken). Real rip off, stay away from these guys!
I agree especially now that offerup is trying to get you personal information.
On july 10 I made a sale of $15 and buyer paid thru offerup hold and pay system. Offerup stated I will get $14.12 after their commission. Offerup asked for debit card information to deposit money which I did and till today I haven't got paid.
Today, after nine days I am asked for Full Name, DOB. Then it's asking my full address and part of social security number. Are you kidding me?
Guess, what direction offerup is heading to?
Folks, do cash sale or don't waste time.
Sal
I sold my old iPhone on this site week before. I still waiting for my money and reply from customer service. Until I sent the product they contacted me through chat and asked me to send it. They sent prepaid shipping address too. Buyers received my product, since then they don't respond to my messages. I have no way contacting them. I think the company took my money. I still trying to get bottom of this. I hope to complain to bbb and federal investigators about this scam. Please connect with me if this happened to you. Don't give up.
Do not waste your time on Offerup. I've had two occasions where I've emailed a seller to purchase their item lot and those individuals were completely incompetent. I waited over a month to hear back and even messaged questioning what was going on. Long story short, I reported these sellers to customer service and they've done nothing. It seems like they're more then content to have fraudulent sellers on their site. Stick to Ebay or Amazon!

Offer Up is not the app for shipping nationwide
I have been selling on offer up for a few years. I was excited about their decision to offer shipping and gain more customers around the country. I have tried three times to give offer up the benefit of the doubt but I must say they are failing miserably. I wait my 7 days after customer received the item and still do not get paid. I email support where I get the first canned response, then the second canned response forwarding my issue to the appropriate department, then the 3rd response from someone claiming to have corrected the internal issue and to expect my deposit in 3-5 more business days, blah blah. I respond back that I think they should expedite my payment due to their issue. I then get an email stating I can pay for expedited deposit on the next sale. Just ridiculous. That does nothing for me now and how rude to act as though I am ok with their "so called" customer resolution. I changed all my offers to exclude the option to ship Nationwide. It should not take 2-3 weeks to get paid. I get paid from Poshmark and Mercari within a week after shipping my items. Offer Up is not ramped up to provide this service.
One of the worst sites for customer service no response it a joke all you get the runaround with there joke of site in service
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
