I was approached by one of their Customer Care team members to answer a survey to IMPROVE their service.
I provided an honest assessment which in part was critical of an evidence of political bias and overly liberal attitude.
Within an hour of submitting that survey response my Account Access Denied appearedon the log in screen.
Im going to push for governmental oversight on these web sites as it becomes a necessary communication tool thus there should be governmental oversight.
Taken off of nextdoor here in las vegas hope I can live without it. Posted pictures of
TOLD ABOUT AND POSTED VIDEO
Dogs in the area off leash and craping on my lawn. That must be a no, no, bad idea. Many of the neighbors were pleased and joined in, after stepping in dog crap and being chased as they jogged. Shame, shame on me. I will now go to the HOA and see if it does any good. Also animal control to report the issues. Don't say anything negative or you are out no warning out you go. Hey nextdoor bye, bye, bye will miss you but after 75 years without you I can do it. You are like a bad dream byeeeeeeeeee
Don't use Nextdoor. If you are self-promoting, people will look at your postings, but will not act. As for the people on Nextdoor, most are Karens who point the finger at anybody they consider "suspicious" in their neighborhoods. Using Nextdoor is not worth the hassle. Find someplace else, anyplace else, for your social media activity.
They sent me an email stating someone in my neighborhood was inviting me to their network. This was completely false. It was misleading spam. Once I "signed up" I saw that there was no invite and the site proceeded to try to get me to set up the network for my neighborhood. I signed out halfway through the setup process and they still sent me a postcard with an activation code and continuously emailed me trying to get me to finish the network setup. I have now unsubscribed from their emails twice and deactivated my account. Let's see if they actually leave me alone.
It is a nuisance to have to put password in every time I want to respond to a query. Since I got a message per an emaiI I supplied to you, it seems like a waste of time.
Also, any chance you could rotate items for sale back to the top of the queue periodically?
I had work done by Brian. He was best Plummer I have ever had work for me and 55 and don't do pluming work, He was very professional did a great job. And was very very reasonable, I will be using this co, rest of my life!
Want to be cancelled? Just write the words "Wuhan Virus" on a Nexdoor post. When you get the warning and a suggested alternative, write another post that contains the words "Wuhan Virus".
Soon you will be disappeared from Nextdoor for your disobedience.
I love Nextdoor.com because it keeps me connected to neighbors I have and haven't met, it alerts me to lost pets and to activity in my area that I should know about. I also love that APD and the City post alerts to us on here as well!
There shouldn't be a "Single Person" Moderator for Nexttdoor. Who can delete what SHE doesn't agree with. Too much Control for one person, who becomes the neighborhood nosey, head in the sand, bullie. Who is too much of a busy body trying to protect the good name of the neighborhood, and the do nothing about the break-ins, Police,... instead of trying to get something done. She threw a so called neighborhood meeting that turned out to be a personal party, and not one single "concerned citizen" ( other than hubby and I) showed up. I'm done with it.
I live in the UK and liked Streetlife. When it was going to be taken over by Nextdoor I read a lot of negative reviews and decided NOT to transfer. Before Streetlife ended I closed my account because I didn't want Nextdoor to have access to my contact details and gave this as reason for closing my account. Nevertheless, Nextdoor are now sending me emails and addressing me by name to try to persuade me to sign up. They have no right to access my contact details against my specific wish. Dodgy company which does not accept that no means NO.
This site is about community communication. That's great.
The result is community political correctness out of control.
If you said you like Trump your attacked. If you said you like Binden then you approved of.
The reporting system is abused and there is no freedom of speech.
It's frankly not worth using.
Streelife = great. Nextdoor = $#*!. Need I say more? Their insitsance on revealing your full name and address to be PUBLISHED to the world at large is frankly dangerous. What if I had a stalker, or had been attacked. I don't share those details with just anyone so why should Nextdoor think they have the right to? The only saving grace is that since I joined I have moved house - not going to bother telling Nextdoor this. Complete and utter shysters and my complaints to their admin fell on deaf ears. Do yourself a favour - sign up with KAHUTI instead.
I have been a member of Nextdoor for many years. First in Patterson, CA and now here in Sequim. I love how it keeps us connected. I ignore the things I don't like or disagree with and sometimes respond to the things I like or agree with. I particularly like the posts by the Sheriff Department.
I think, for the most part, Nextdoor is a decent platform. I enjoy the posts related to the welfare of animals and pets. I also think people use it as a platform to argue and say snarky comments back and forth. I do not enjoy that side of Nextdoor.
Nextdoor is the furthest thing from being neighborly. It has been weaponized by its automated system, which is easy to use to shut down neighbors with whom you disagree.
After being banned for supposedly public shaming people, which I've never done, I found out how easy it is to report somebody for public shaming on the website, which then results in an automatic suspension in a matter of minutes. I've tried this technique and it works, usually within 30 minutes:
Click on the down arrow next to the post you want to report. Select Report Post. Then select "uncivil, unneighborly, offensive." You will then get a list that includes "public shaming." The person will be automatically suspended in about 30 minutes and it will take a long time for them to even find out why.
I have a small business that operates on nickles and dimes. I was suckered into a one-month sponsorship and then they allegedly sent an email they were switching platforms and suddenly I'm being billed hundred of dollars for... are you ready? A total of 8 click throughs.
Nextdoor allows a few bullies to consistently run a muck and harass and bully everyone from neighbors who discuss issues that have nothing to do with the bullier to elderly people. They do little to nothing to resolve the issues and you end up with part of the community in contention with the other part. Their management system pits neighbors against each other.
Who do I contact? I love this service. I own 2 properties. One in South Lakeville the other in Inver Grove Heights. I would love to have access to both. I cannot access the info from the lead inbox headlines. HELP!
The worst site on the internet! They allow unqualified leads to bully and harass people! The lead in my area is an auto mechanic that is ignorant. I was posting helpful info about the Coronavirus Covid-19 and he froze my posting. He knew nothing about the medical field and or legal issues. And this frozen posting prevented thousands of people from getting important medical advice. Information that could save lives and prevent the spread of this new virus in our area. This ignorant lead that reps the nexdoor site went as far as to commit defamation of Character against me. Pathetic company to say the least! Don't sign up for Nextdoor! It is horrible! AVOID IT!
Our lead is progressive. So anything that sounds conservative is banned by lead, and anything progressive is not only allowed, but also posted by the lead. For example: Lead posts: Anti_Trump rally, everyone should go!. But saying like: "Gun safety classes at community center" - banned.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
