I joined Next Door for a small cottage community. The loacals run the site and use it as a tool to harrass others. Next Door support is completely unresponsive to complaints. I have to either delete my account or not post like most have chosen to do.
A salesman cyberbullied me and got his buddies to attack me. I'm a grandmother in my 60s. He's a young millennial. He was posting on Nextdoor that I am Mentally Ill and he's going to call the cops on me because I came to view his work after he invited me. I didn't like his product so he posted the color, and make of my car, totally violated my privacy while encouraging others to viciously attack me. I tried to notify Nextdoor, but there were more bullies and I was the only victim. There were more of them than me, and so Nextdoor banned me -- the woman who was the victim of the abusive men. All they require to ban the victim is that the bullies, in this case the salesmen, outnumber their victim, the woman.
I left the app a few yrs ago and then i tried to rejoin to start a community fun thing during the pandemic. I cant, because they say that address belongs to someone. Yeah, Morons. Its me. I own the address. Why cant i log back in? Cuz these people are embeciles.
I joined and was forced to use my personal Info (which makes sense). I join and there is noone in my neighborhood. Shortly after a receive a large uptick in spam phone calls. I didnt feel comfortable giving my number for this exact reason. Be warned, they will sell your number to spammers
I loved Streetlife and only wish I had discovered it earlier - I have found it sooo useful. I started to move to Nextdoor and got asked so many questions about my location and immediate neighbours that I gave up... am now very grateful that i did and hope that the limited information that they DID get from me is limited enough that I am NOT a member - if so then will have to manage to extract myself. It all sounds a totally illegal setup. Beware!
Nextdoor in Virginia Village, Cook Park, Cory Ellis, UHills Denver is a joke. The leads are completely one-sided and block people/remove comments while allowing other people they agree with to say whatever, including cursing at other neighbors. Not a neighborhood site, more like a left-leaning political favoritism group.
When I type in my first name, Shareefah, a message popped up that I must type in a REAL name before moving forward. This is my real name. You would think they would recognize names from all countries. I am from the United States born and raised in NC and was given this name by my mother and father. It is a common Arabic name. It has meaning and they still did not link it to being a real name and they did not allow me on the website.
We ordered the development of our online store of delicacies and products from Europe. The development took more than 3 months due to the complexity of the functionality, and the BFG iTECH web-studio team did it perfectly. Satisfied with the cooperation and the site!
I was a "lead" and had a neighbor attack me. I deleted the comments and I GOT ROMOEVE and they left the liar on the site. They finally removed her account after she attacked me 5 more times. Neighbors can attack you and if you respond with the truth, you are bashed even more. DON'T DO IT. Stay away. Little to zero control and neighbors can bash at will. I even flagged several of her "attack" post and the new "lead" allowed them back on the site.
NextDoor will suspend your account if, in regard to local crime, you write...
"[V]iolent crime rates are doubled for patients with schizophrenia and bipolar mood disorders and tripled for those with unipolar depression" [1]. "[A]round 10% of the patients with schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders behave violently, compared with less than 2% of the general public".[2]

Neighbors always only complain about one another, governments, religion, politics, someone waking them up before their alarms ring, wandering cats, an ugly house, traffic, etccccc! What do any of these have to do with connecting with others, as happy polite nice helpful community members in Calgary, Alberta? 1st world problems of hifalutin, arrogant, privileged, rude, selfish, entitled & spoiled grown a$$ adult diva brats! Bullying is rampant on ND! As are Insults, Profanity, Threats & Blatant Disregard for the Neighbors in the same Community/City! Yet when a person speaks truthfully, they are blocked by ND? Unbelievable! Next Door, SHAME ON YOU!
I have a cleaning business and I also am involved in Stream Energy and Wireless. I have my names on the business page and have received quite a few requests forcleaning and a few for my energy business. I think its a great site for that as well as all the other things neighbors post. We belong to a network group and have shown the group how to use the site. I also like the fact that its your neighboring areas and you get recommendations and can give them to help out others.
I wanted to download this app so I can see what was going on in my neighborhood. I get on the app and it wants me to verify my information, I verified my email everything was fine, go to verify my phone number it won't verify my phone number for some reason won't tell me why it just won't so I tried my landline it won't verify that because it's under my husband's name which I put in there that the billing is under my husband's name, still would not go through, still would not verify me. Now it wants me to wait for 2 weeks to be verified through the mail?!?! Yeah forget that s***! Just to see what's going on in my neighborhood. Ill choose another site or app that is user friendly is set up correctly
I have two homes. I set up ND for one location with a Yahoo email and a Contra Costa community address. I set up the other location with a gmail email and a Marin community address. So far I can access my Contra Costa ND with my desktop (PC) and my iPhone. I can access my Marin on my iPad only. I have written to their customer service, I have tried every which way but loose to fix this problem, but nothing works. ND is virtually useless to me.
The shutting down of temporary disabling of Nextdoor accounts seems arbitrary and done without any opportunity to review the "offending " post or to refute it peope use reporting as a retaliatory tool. The review team review is incomplete in the full context of the posts and allows bullying and character attacks but no defending of yourself. The rules are assinine. Turn the other cheek (be a good litte mouse in the corner), probe to see why the poster feels as they do (instead of a dialog of opinions you are supposed to act as their psychologist). It is a liberal leaning social media app where the loudest voices are the woke liberal neighbors and the conservatives fear saying anything for fear of retribution..
Do you enjoy big brother watching over you and telling you how and what to think? Do you enjoy censorship? Do you want to fight and argue with your neighbors? Then this is the website for you.
Neighborhoods have been doing just fine without your disservice and ulterior agenda.
The most Bias site ever! I am a Independent Contractor and posted my information on this site and was sent a message saying I could not do that unless I had a referral! Ok so I get that but I have seen men get away with posting what ever they want to post to promote their business and weeks later their self promoting ad's still active. I have contacted the "Help" because my local Lead is not doing anything about it. I should not have to report this to the "Help" That being "customer service" this should be taken care of by the local Leads but after reporting as many as I have and not seeing anything done about it I felt I had no other choice. I sent many emails to Next Doors "customer service" explaining the attempted contacts with my local lead and each attempted contact to my local lead was ignored! I get that these leads are not getting paid for what they do but I would like to see where it says that it's ok to be Bias because your doing Volunteer work for NEXTDOOR!
Nextdoor app lets white people post about anything but if I posted something they always had a problem for example I am a caregiver once I posted about me providing care for the elderly and they deleted my ad but someone else a white lady was posting about her job and how she can provide services for a small fee and her ad was not deleted I also heard this from other minorities groups just stating the truth.
I liked Streetlife it it was migrated to Nextdoor. Deactivated my account after I realised that all addresses, house no as well are made public with out my permission. Intensely annoyed that my area was split in to East and West. It's not that big. You sign up to a site for a reason. It's like if Twitter sold out to Facebook. So all Facbook account become Twitter. It just doesn't work.
I wanted to use this site to advertise my small business. I have no way to know if my ad is actually running. I've seen zero results from the ad I uploaded. I wanted to pull up the ad to see if there were errors in it. It turns out there is no way to do this. There is no support, no contact info, no way to delete my account or credit card number.
Obvious Scam!
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
