The company's reputation is marked by a stark divide in customer experiences. On one hand, some clients commend the quality of specific services, particularly in web design and SEO assistance, highlighting instances of exceptional customer support. However, a significant number of reviews reveal persistent issues, including slow response times, inadequate technical support, and billing disputes, which contribute to a growing sense of frustration among long-term users. Overall, while there are positive interactions, the prevailing sentiment underscores a troubling decline in service quality and reliability, prompting many customers to seek alternatives.

I have used Web.com for over 10 years and have had great success with them. It was money well spent,
First of all I paid $150 per month with a 12 month contract to have them build, host and manage my website. I never got any hits while they were managing it. The design is pretty good but not supreme. They sold it to me because I was trying to build it myself and was having difficulty since I have never built a website and do not have a lot of time to learn how to do it. While they were managing it, I was able to use a site builder to make simple edits or they could do it for me. They told me that I could learn how to do it for the year and then take it over myself at the end. They did not tell me that when I took it over at the end of the contract period that I would no longer be able to use a site builder to edit it. I am still paying for hosting and it shows that I have access to a site builder but I was told that I can't use it to edit my site. What a scam! They want me to pay $50 every time I want something changed. I can't even figure out how to get into the HTML to make changes let alone how to actually make the changes. Ugh! What a waste of time and money. So regretting using them. Trying to figure out if I can upload it to a different site builder and change to a different hosting company.
Hey Tara - sounds like you're having a rough time making changes to your site! Would you mind providing us some more information about your account so we can get you some help?^MB
Unacceptable. And its outside of the reach of the police or a lawyer as its outside of the country. Try looking for a google+ page of them, or a Facebook page for reviews. There is none. Should say a lot.
Hey Jared - i'm sorry you've had a poor experience with our products, is there something specific we can address?^MB
We signed up for 3 months of service with web.com believing they would provide 9-15 new leads per month. After agreeing, another rep called to get permission to get into our google business page which I presumed was so that they could create ads. Our google page was already getting 29 hits per month so was doing good for us. Instead of running any ads of their own, their team went into our google page, eliminated our phone number and put on their own fake number that rings through to our real one, eliminated our real website and put on their own fake website, and then pretends as if its work has generated some leads for us. When I saw they did this, I put back our data on our google page and emailed customer service. "Lee" a team member called, apologized, explained that they didn't need to do that in order to provide us with service, and I figured it was fine. Come a couple of days later and we start getting "leads" so I thought, "oh good, they are doing something" so I log into my google page, just to be sure and once again, their "team" has went into my google page and eliminated my phone number and my website AGAIN! I can see that not one dollar of my nearly three thousand has went to them making any sort of ad that people might see. This company is either fraudulent or incompetent. I definitely will not use them at all once my three months expires.
Hey Jennifer - we're sorry to hear you had a poor experience. We replace the phone number so that you can track the effectiveness of the product, otherwise you would have no visibility on whether it was working for you. We apologize that you don't feel the service worked for you, and would be happy to assist - feel free to private message us your account details so we can investigate further.^MB
Have used Leadstrem lead stream for the agreement of 3 months they are charging for months past agreement. Not to be trusted. I have been in contact with the service and I have never signed anything agreeing past 3 months period. They are not easy to get ahold of LONG wait times.
Hey Rod - all our marketing services auto renew per month unless you cancel the service. We're very sorry that wasn't made clear to you. If you need help with this or anything further, please feel free to private message us and we'll make it right!^MB
As an initial interview, this was a little rough. I'll wait to see how this works.
Just a note, small businesses come to you with a basic concept in mind, but may not really know what they want. Having data and content and graphics may not be in the bag yet, just an idea. We depend on your expertise and creativity to provide a framework to work in. I got a little frustrated with the 1 1/2-hour barrage of questions for which I really don't have answers to. If I had to say well, is there a site that you really like in how it is laid out and functions, I would say well yes; we really like how http://www.onefederalsolution.com/ looks and feels. Can we do something like this based on what we current have.
We know the website we currently use is not much and don't need to be told what is wrong with it, that is why we are coming to you to for help. Heck, if it was neat and fancy, we would not have bothered.
Hey Andrew - thanks for the feedback! If you need additional help or want to add anything, please don't hesitate to reach out via private message.^MB
Honestly, the worst when it comes to knowledge. The transfers I went thru JUST to get one piece of information. 6 times I was transferred and not one person could help until I asked to be transferred to the cancellation department. Look for another hosting service. 3 years of wasted time and money.
Hey Gregory! We're very sorry to hear that you had difficulties with calling in, if you'd like to provide additional info for us to try and improve, please send us a private message and we'll try to fix it!^MB
We signed up at the beginning of June for a very targeted SEO. The first call the guy called my cell phone (not the business) and was a no show. He then put up a mirror website with the wrong domain and company name. Finally got a wonderful rep who got it all straightened out... but promised the contract would not start until the site was up... guess what?... was auto-billed back to the wrong date. They do not assign you a rep with an extension or personal email. You must go through there mass of people in hopes of a return call or email. Last follow-up, the rep AGAIN was a no-show for our scheduled meeting time. In 3 months I have only received 2 calls pertaining to the business. There were another 19 who were junk calls - wrong numbers, wrong cities, etc. Wasted an enormous amount of my time and money. I am asking for every penny of it back and have disputed the charges on my credit card. BEWARE!
Hey Michelle - we're very sorry that you had a poor experience with our SEO product. I'd be happy to try and help get this sorted, if you'd like to send me a private message with your account identifier.^MB
I had a website designed and I needed to get one update done and they never did it. They put the website on another hosting package that I don't have access to. They want you to give them your domain. I want a refund.
Hey Kirk! We're happy to help resolve your problem - please send us a private message with your account info and we'll get it sorted out!^MB
I paid $1500 up front to have my company's existing website converted to mobile friendly and hosting transferred to their server. Web.com was a nightmare to deal with from the very beginning. Their customer service is absolutely terrible and a nightmare to deal with. Web.com did not deliver what they were hired to do and wasted hours of my time. Their web developer, Melissa Carpenter blew off our initial appointment and Web.com neglected to contact me to reschedule. I have wasted countless hours on the phone with their customer service reps attempting to get my website back online. A week later and my company's website is still offline. It took 8 days for web.com to provide a piece of $#*! of a draft of the website could have been designed by a seven year old. They clearly are incapable of listening to their customers and are not capable of following instructions. They wasted too much of my time and money.
Hey MG - clearly something went wrong with your experience with us, and we'd like to take a look and address it. Would you mind sending us a private message with the account identifier so we can investigate? Thanks!
Just two weeks ago I transferred all but a few domains from Network Solutions to GoDaddy and made sure auto renew was not active. The two sites are working sites so had to prepare them.
Network Solutions said on the phone they would discount to keep me, close to matching GoDaddy. I said I would think about it.
They did not wait. They turned on auto-renew for five years and billed me $194!
I will charge this back on my credit card, report to BBB and report to Floridas attorney generals office of consumer affairs.
From what I read online they may have issues with the FTC and ICAAN. If possible people should report their business practices to all the proper authorities.
After 20 years of being their customer I plan to move everything and spend a great deal of time spreading the word.
Google other review sites, these guys are crooks.
Hey Tim! Did you call into support and explain the situation? Send us the email address associated with your account via private message and we'll see what we can do to help!^MB
I hired web.com in January to improve Search engine optimization. A month later I contacted them to see why no one had contacted me and Biance says I have to have a code to activate my account. No one ever contacted me in the 3 months I told them I would give them a try. Then in July my CC is charged for another 3 months, still no contact from them. I am trying to get a credit back and they tell me that it is my responsility to contact them for consult each month. Bunch of BS. In the meantime I did hire a new company and they verified along with another company that my SEO had not infact improved at all! Very unhappy with this scam!
Hey Wendy - we're sorry to hear you had so much trouble setting your account up, please contact us via private message and we'll see how we can help!^MB
I was with them for over 20 years but when Web.com bought them all the agreements they made were not honored. They flat out LIE. After over a year of lies I moved all my domains, however, to this date, over 15 days they have not completed the move, causing me and my businesses financial damage. I was told prior by associates that they would find a way to make any change miserable and disruptive. "They will make it long, claim mistakes, and you will have to file legal docs against them to get the move completed." To this point that statement appears to be true. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM OR WEB.COM. If you are looking for HONESTY & INTEGRITY, buy a dictionary.
Hey Rick,
I'd be happy to look into your experience and see if we can help. Please send us a private message and I'll see what I can do to resolve your issues.^MB
Noticing that the company provides WordPress services, I called to purchase technical support for my WordPress website. As Network Solutions and its parent, Web.com provide hosting services for websites, I made it clear I was using another hosting company and was told that wasnt an issue. Rather than getting what I called about, I was led on a glossy internet marketing odyssey. It started with SEO, Search Engine Optimization, theoretically used to improve site rankings. Everyone wants their site to rank high in searches. I was told I would first be transferred to an SEO specialist followed by a WordPress technician who would solve my technical issues.
Cutting to the chase, this was sort of a Yellow Brick Road replete with brainless people aimlessly wandering around. The SEO was not Network Solutions SEO solution, but placing you on Facebook. Obviously anyone can deal directly with Facebook for those services. When I explained that I was looking for their personalized service, I was told that was a different SEO. This went on for about 45 minutes.
Ultimately I was transferred to their WordPress guru who explained they couldnt provide the service as I was already hosted by someone else and would have to sign a new hosting contract with them. Had all of this been explained up front I would have saved over an hour of wasted time and bait and switch tactics. As it turns out, this company has a history of serious legal problems for misleading customers in which the FTC presided over a settlement. A leopard never changes its spots.
Hey Ginny,
I'm very sorry you had a frustrating experience, and would like to investigate further in an attempt to improve. Would you mind emailing me directly (mbenson@web.com) so that I can look into what went wrong?^MB
I got a call from Faith, their "junior agent," who refused to divulge any details, when asked, about what they charge, what they were truly going for, and wouldn't take no for an answer, after repeated NO's.
Then I got on the phone with their senior sales agent, Dennis, who continued to berate and belittle me, my companies performance thus far, and the work I have done to get my company built. He promised me results, then told me he couldn't guarantee anything, used every sales tactic in the book, insulted and shouted at me on several occasions. At the end of the conversation, he told me how, "He wanted to insult me further, but would end the conversation on a professional and polite note, so goodbye."
I can't say anything good about the interaction I had with either of their representatives.
Hey DE - this is an unacceptable occurrence and we'd like to investigate this matter. Would you mind emailing me directly at mbenson@web.com with the phone number you were called on and any additional information you can provide?^MB
I have been trying since November to cancel and even though I have an email confirming that I am cancelled they are still charging my account. I had to get my bank involved and file legal charges against them to STOP The charges. I am almost down $200. There services were terrible too
Hey Michael,
Sorry you had a frustrating experience with your billing, we'd be happy to help get it resolved! Send us your account info via private message and we'll investigate immediately.
-Mike
I tried to cancel the items that you are billing me for every month, and the person in Jacksonville told me my name was not on the account. Please cancel the 99.95 and 189.95 charges on my American express card today.
Raymond,
Happy to assist with this - would you mind sending us the account details via private message?
-Mike
I've had a premium website for 8 + years. In the very beginning if I had a problem I could contact the webs support and fix it.
In the past year they have helped resolve only 1 of my requests. Instead an obtuse tech rep will make me repeat the problem a dozen times and ineffectively proceed. Then tell me to use other browsers. Which I now do with every attempt at editing.
As an example' there is 1 simple problem that I'm constantly told isn't really an issue. Site managers of a now defunct site are always used when contacting myself, (always listed as owner.) as I built the site, pay for it and most importantly they have NEVER been part of it this is unacceptable. It's always dismissed as a non issue because,..." I'm the only one who sees it". I had built and paid for a separate premium site for the people popping. Then after several years discovered they were abusing and misusing funds being raised. We refuse to be associated with this unethical and possibly illegal behavior.
The frustration is over the top. It is still not editable on a phone, it's become very difficult to edit on my lap top. At the yearly cost of the site this lack of effective support is unacceptable.
Bonita,
We're very sorry that you're become frustrated with your website, and would be glad to look into this further for you. Would you mind sending us a private message with your account details?
-Mike
It started well. My site was published, and everything was well until 3 days later. My site started to not work anymore so I contacted them. I told them about this issue then they were no help at all. So I told them, I want to cancel my plan, then suddenly, out of no where, I can only access my domain in my account, everything else was gone.
Here I almost a year later, still couldn't transfer my domain because all they tell me is to call them. I am not basted in US and we do not have any landline so this call will be so expensive so I keep telling them to call me instead but all they do is send me the exact same messages at all time. Not friendly customer service. I just want to talk to a REAL PERSON TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE, NOT A PERSON WHO SENDS ME THE SAME MESSAGE AGAIN AND AGAIN. All I needed is to transfer my domain so that I can use my blog again. I don't even need your refund. DON'T USE WEBS.COM, It'll ruin your site
Hey Zoe,
Really sorry to hear that you had a frustrating experience - we'd be happy to look into you issues and try to help! Would you mind sending us a private message with your account information?
-Mike
I started this site, never published it, because the site was terrible to use. I firgot about the site and 4 months later I was being billed 41.90 for a site *******@gmail.com never used. Called to get my money back they refused and said even though I did not publish, I still had a contract. I asked about the recent billed of 41.90 and they said they still could not give that back to me because their was a five day window after the bill and the computer could not refund me. Off to BBB to take care of this. Do not use this site a SCAM
Jacqueline,
We're very sorry that you had a poor experience, and we'd be happy to see if we can help. Would you mind sending us your account info via private message so we can look into it?

Answer: We are located in Australia and trying to make contact is virtually impossible. They don't respond to emails, Calling them is an expensive international phone call, The time zone is completely different so I had to call at some ungodly hour of the morning, they are not friendly and find dealing with customers a big pain. They offer no real value and have no idea of what customer service is.
Answer: I had to ring my credit card company and get them to stop the payment
Answer: I was working with a consultant from the Small Business Development Center when I began my business. She advised me to register my LLC and then to go to Register.com to buy the domain name before anyone else could. Later on, she suggested Register when I was looking for hosting.
