The company's reputation is marked by a stark divide in customer experiences. On one hand, some clients commend the quality of specific services, particularly in web design and SEO assistance, highlighting instances of exceptional customer support. However, a significant number of reviews reveal persistent issues, including slow response times, inadequate technical support, and billing disputes, which contribute to a growing sense of frustration among long-term users. Overall, while there are positive interactions, the prevailing sentiment underscores a troubling decline in service quality and reliability, prompting many customers to seek alternatives.

Well I suppose you truly do get what you pay for. I took the special for $3 for the first month and I got a domain and the website builder with built in email and hosting. The website builder was the most simple builder I have ever seen. I think a child would need more customizations to there site than this company offered for their builder.
Web has billed me wrongfully over and over. I had a former employee calling me because web had been charging them as well. They will just pull money from where ever they can. I also had an employee of web code Into my website a girls face all over the empty space. It took me 1 month and 6 phone calls to get it removed. When I told the manager what had happened, he said it was because I was not paying for their advance custom website. This is a terrible website company! Please save yourself and your domain. Getting your domain back from web is one of the hardest things to do.
Hey there Giselle, we're sorry to hear you're having issues with your website. Please contact me at mbenson@web.com and I'll help resolve. Thanks!^MB
I just absolutely wasted $6000 that I could not afford to! The promises, the lies, the lack of support and the out and out unsympathic employees and management surpass anything I have witnessed in all my years. IF YOU USE THIS COMPANY YOU WILL REGRET IT!
Hey Joe - I've private messaged with you my contact info, and would like to see if I can help!^MB
They also go by Lead Stream. They charge you to create a website that is generic that you don't get to keep. They create a "new" phone number that they use to track leads. The problem is that when even your current clients look you up on-line, they use that number and then web.com calls it a lead. Also, tele-marketers call on that "new" number and they are considered leads. After less than 1 week, we asked for our money back. They told us we could have 2 out of the 3 months back. They were going to call us back in 48 hours. They never did. We had to call them back at almost the 1 month mark to find out where our money was and they said they reviewed all of the recorded tapes and they did nothing wrong and they had already spent all of the money and we would get no refund. Finally, they called back and said they did some more reviewing (after they were told we never had the complete setup call nor got a dashboard or anything) and that we would get a full refund. We went a full month without a single lead. They will tell you on the marketing call "how did we get this big without doing something right?" Well maybe, that have helped a lot of people, but you can take people's money and get big without helping them. Furthermore, after 1 month, we were not at the top of the list on Google, Bing, or Yahoo. The phone number ONLY changes to the "new" number on Google. They are affiliated with Google. All I am saying is BEWARE!
Hey Richard - we're sorry you had a poor experience with our Lead Stream product, and we''d like to hear more about your experience. If you'd like to email me directly at mbenson@web.com I'd be happy to help!^MB
I have been with register.com for more than 10 years when Web.com bought the company it all went down hill... all they want to do is upsell you and they do not want to help you at all... they make mistakes and your site pays for it by being pulled off line... so much stress you should not have to think about your web site on a daily basis to monitor it to watch it to make sure the hosting service isn't screwing you again. I am looking for a hosting service now to transfer to... worst experience online in my life... terrible terrible service.
Hey William - can you private message us with details of the problems you had with our hosting?^MB
They promised they have experience in healthcare lead development and are so much better than other marketing companies. They promise to deliver viable prospects but after 3 months not a single paying customer. Lots of calls for other health care companies and callers seeking employment.
I knew I was taking a risk with all their promises but they failed. So after my 90 day agreement I called to confirm my account was canceled on the last day to make sure my agreement had ended. Low and behold they said I was a few hours late and they billed me for another month. I did not receive notice that they were going to bill me and they actually billed me on the day after I called. They refused to refund a penny, even though they never notified me that they were going to bill me for another month. Be sure to read the fine print in their contract and don't expect them to deliver on all the sales promises!
Hey Hank - sorry to hear about your frustrations with our billing cycles. If you'd like to private message us some details, we'd be happy to see if we can help!^MB
Didn't help me out charged me money I wasn't aware of not giving me a refund. This is a scam. Didn't help me full of $#*!. Didn't get a job. Went no where good for nothing
Hey Naajia we're sorry you had a poor experience, and would be happy to address your issues. Feel free to reply to our private message with your account details and we'll see how we can help!^MB
The smooth talking salesmen suck you in at one price, then you end up paying a different price - all for a website that looks like it belongs in 1994. I just switched to SetMySite and had them build me a new site. Night and day. Web.com is SNAKE OIL. Don't fall for it. Look at all the reviews on other sites throughout the web before you fork over the credit card.
Hey Felipe - sorry that you weren't happy with the services provided, we'll take the feedback and pass it along.^MB
Web.com was supposed to generate us new business and they projected us 8-15 new leads a month for their very hefty fee. We got two actual leads in the system, but that was it. We asked if we could receive a refund of something and they said NO WAY! They don't stand behind their sorry promises. Don't waste your time or money!
Hey Colorado - we're very sorry to hear that you didn't receive the results you hoped for, and would like to investigate your experience further. Please send us a private message here on Sitejabber with your URL and we'd be happy to look into it and reach out!^MB
I cant understand how they are still in business, the worst work I have seen its just junk. It s taken 8wks and three attempts and its still junk.
Please don't waste your money, you will be sorry. They are based in Stockton on Tees UK.
Hey Barry - sorry to hear you feel that way about our services. Would you mind private messaging me or emailing (mbenson@web.com) details regarding your experience so we can attempt to improve?^MB
They talk a big talk, but deliver nothing.
Be very careful, They will bill your credit card without your permission even after you cancel, and will lie and make all kinds of excuses not to give it back... run from this company they will rob you.
Hey Victor - would you mind sending me more info regarding your experience so I can look into it? Feel free to email me directly at mbenson@web.com or private message me via SiteJabber.
Web. Com sales people talked a good game. I thought it was a great. I Signed up unfortunately. Customers I have dealt with in the past go online to contact me and web. Com counts that as a lead they generated. I get calls from neighbours who got my number off the internet and again web. Com thinks they are doing there job. I already had a website I liked which is way better than the one web. Com made for me. They scammed me out of almost $5000 and not one new lead did they generate. I tried to cancel and they say it's working even after listening to phone calls where people say they got from my truck or I have done work for them before. Anyway don't use this scam cuz that is all this is.
Hey Justin - we're sorry to hear that your lead generation program didn't work out for you. Would you mind private messaging us the domain associated with the account so we can look into this?^MB
Spoke with Craig in Nova Scotia this morning re: cancellation of my website because I'm now retired and no longer wish or need to have an internet presence. Not only was he completely professional, he was friendly and helpful. (Of course he followed corporate "script" re: renewal for a discount, etc. which I imagine is obligatory, but not with a 'pushy/obnoxious' approach I've endured many times with reps from other businesses.). I've been with Register.com for over 10 years and have always had positive experiences with associates and I shall continue to recommend your company to friends and colleagues... Jerry MacLauchlin
I was hesitant to sign up for web.com based on the example websites they were showing me. The salesperson gave me repeated assurances that they'd "go above and beyond" to make sure I was happy with the website representing my new business. They said, that they would work with me to make sure I was happy with the website. I believed them and paid for website and SEO for three months.
A few days later, I get a preview website. I was incredibly dismayed at the quality of the website. It looked like it took 10 minutes to put together.
The copy was just generic stuff, seemingly copy and pasted from whatever copy template they had lying around. They included the old "Experience you can trust!" headline at top. The pictures on the service pages had nothing to do with the services offered.
The location of my business was wrong.
Ok, fast forward to them "working with me". I had sent a lengthy email stating the changes I'd like for the site. Basically, no changes were made except swapping their pictures for the pictures I included in the email. But, even that was bad, because on the landing page photo, they cropped out the piece of equipment that represents what my business offers.
I get them on the phone, and they basically tell me that I'll never get the changes I requested. They also let me know that it's not really a website, it's a lead generation site. And that some people use it as their secondary site. I didn't believe I was signing up for that. I don't want my primary site to be someone else's secondary site.
So, less than a week in, I ask to cancel. Sure, I could cancel, but they'd still get to keep all the money I gave them. I asked if they can just keep the money for the website, return me money for the SEO. No, they say.
Can I speak to someone in a higher authority to explain the situation? No, they say.
So, I have no recourse. I feel scammed.
Hey Neil, sorry to hear you're not happy with the current state of the website that you purchased. I'd like to get involved and see how we can help get your experience back on track, please email me at mbenson@web.com with details.^MB
I signed up 6 weeks ago on a 3 month program at over $1,000.00 per month. I've received 3 or 4 clicks, all of which fail to produce a useful lead, let alone new business. The first day I agreed to to sign they spent 25% my monthly ad budget just to force through a quick lead (which was not useful). This was before I even had a set up meeting with their staff to define the leads I was interested in. When I log into my account management page I see that there is literally nothing there for me to manage, no mechanism to change my contact or billing information. I'm sure they don't want you having access to your billing information because they know you'll delete it. I can't get same day customer service in my introductory period without calling a generic phone number. They refuse to give you direct contact info for your assigned account manager. I can hardly imagine how bad it gets later. Stay away.
Hey Eric - we're sorry to hear you didn't receive the results you expected, and would be happy to investigate what went wrong. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at mbenson@web.com, and I'd be happy to assist.^MB

I am an attorney and they totally screwed me over. I was told I had a three month contract and then I emailed to cancel. When they charged me after the three months, they refused my refund and told me I had a month to month contract.
Never work with them!
Hey Carolyn - we're sorry to hear there was some confusion with the way you were billed. We'll pass the feedback along, if you have any further concerns please out to me directly at mbenson@web.com.^MB
I was promised a custom website and sco. Received a custom website and local listings no sco. Cost is $149.00 peer month. Not happy

This company literally gets you hyped up and once you make a payment they don't care! Spoke to Emma Groom today about renewing my contract. She was so rude and disrespectful when I tried to explain why I didn't want to renew my contract, she told me that I'd never understand how SEO works and if I tried to learn I will still never understand. I was then told from an ex employee of this company that all they really do is add your company to different directories, which you can do buy yourself for free. Be smart people! They charged me £300 for the whole year. Callum and Emma claimed this would get me more customers through SEO but when you think smart and break it down, the £300 I paid for the year was not going towards the 'SEO specialists' because that would only work out for them getting:
Annual £300.00
Monthly £25.00
Weekly £5.77
Daily £1.15
Hourly £0.14
Which is clearly lies as SEO specialists get paid a lot more. The truth is that they have no SEO specialists etc, all lies. All you are essentially paying for is to be on their database. The ex employee then told me they don't even do SEO... they also use 'scare tactics' to pressure customers into paying i. E 'your website will be taken down from google if you don't renew your contract'. Emma was clearly attempting to 'scare' me but obviously failed hence why she hung up on me. It all seems like a big scam to be honest... so done with this company. Seriously consider sending your staff on a customer service training course.
Rianna - we're happy to assist and see how we can make this right for you. Please contact me directly at mbenson@web.com and I'll look into your experience.^MB
I bought professional email services from web.com. With no prior notice my email was canceled. Upon requesting an authorization code for transfer I was told that every associate with permissions to do such a thing were gone for the day. Using the online system I was instructed to wait for a code for 3 to 4 days. Without my email in place I am missing out on business and the loss of my professional email reflects poorly upon my business. While using their email services I experienced loss of service, emails did not send, and emails did not receive. This company doesn't care about its customers and their product was unreliable. I will never use them again.
Hey Jared - we're sorry to hear you had such a frustrating experience. We'd like to hear more about your experience, would you mind sending us some details regarding the product you purchased? You can email me directly at mbenson@web.com, and I'd be happy to listen.^MB
Answer: We are located in Australia and trying to make contact is virtually impossible. They don't respond to emails, Calling them is an expensive international phone call, The time zone is completely different so I had to call at some ungodly hour of the morning, they are not friendly and find dealing with customers a big pain. They offer no real value and have no idea of what customer service is.
Answer: I had to ring my credit card company and get them to stop the payment
Answer: I was working with a consultant from the Small Business Development Center when I began my business. She advised me to register my LLC and then to go to Register.com to buy the domain name before anyone else could. Later on, she suggested Register when I was looking for hosting.
