This company has been charging me monthly for some time and I just caught it. I have never heard of them and certainly never signed up for whatever service they offer. I disputed the charges but will only be compensated by the bank for the last two. Unfortunately, I didn't catch it earlier.
If you search, you will find many complaints of fraudulent charges by this company. I have no proof of purchase to add to the complaint simply because I never made any purchase.
Confirms a report is created and records were located... that is until after you pay, then suddenly there is no report/records and are told "please try again".
They will claim that it's a dollar per report but charge you $45 for 50 reports after a week. Their support team and cancellation options are purposefully hard to reach to get you to keep paying those monthly charges. I've contacted them for a refund due to this fraud but they will not respond. Do not use, go to your states housing offices instead!

I never signed up for anything with this company and I'm not sure how they received my information but I have been charged $44.86 three months in a row. When I looked the company up, it showed no previous contact in my search history or email. I will be disputing these charges and reporting this company for fraud.

Neighborwho charged my account for $44.86 for the service that I canceled ON DAY ONE of the trial period. I called, emailed and submitted a form for cancellation within hours of the trial beginning. 7 days later they stole money from my account without justification.
No one should ever go to this company. Trust me, even if you read the fine print front and back they will still steal your money as soon as they get your bank information. It's completely fraud and must be avoided.
Hi there Tamia,
Thank you for reaching out.
I was able to locate your request for cancellation and I am happy to see we resolved your concern on our end.
If you have any questions you can always reach us at support@NeighborWho.com
I found the info in their database was correct and more complete than other comparable services, but their enrollment tactics are based on keeping the long term cost hidden. The do not send enrollment confirmations and updates on membership status. If you call and cancel there is no paper trail to fall back on when they keep charging you. When the trial period enrollees you will be charged the full monthly fee. If you call the same day the charges hit your bank they will not refund it. They say that your membership is then valid through the period that they surreptitiously enrolled you into. It is a very poor business practices. If they were more upfront and transparent or if they offered more flexibility in their plans I would consider using them again, but the hidden renewals, poor communication and customer service attitudes may keep me from ever trying them again.
Hi there Barbara,
NeighborWho wants our customers to be aware of the billing prior to creating an account with us.
When signing up for our services the terms and conditions in addition to the privacy policy are required to be agreed to prior to signing up.
Each customer must agree to these terms before successfully creating the account.
This way our customers are fully aware of the charges including the date to cancel the trial.
Our subscriptions are not based on usage; they are recurring subscriptions that will continue to renew until a customer cancels as stated in the agreed terms.
If you require assistance with your account, please email us at support@NeighborWho.com.
We are always more than happy to assist!
Charged me two times 44.86. I called and cancelled this the day after you contacted me. I want my money back asap. DO NOT CHARGE ME ANYMORE either! You need to brush up on your work ethics! You charged me through paypal so credit immediately. You owe me for two months 10-10 $1.00/ 1.-18 44.86. And 11-17 44.86.

I tried to use neighborwho to contact about a dozen people (I work in real estate and needed to contact home sellers), and it worked a grand total of zero times. All I got were disconnected lines and people who had no relationship to or knowledge of the person I was trying to reach. Terrible scam service.

I paid the $1.00 charge to view information on the house I currently live in and made sure I chose the cheapest option available, that would not CONTINUE charging my account. This is why I am very confused as to why this morning $44.86 was taken out of my account from NeighborWhos? I never saw anything stating I'd continue to be charged after I paid the $1.00. Truthfully I would just like to be refunded for the almost $45 that was taken out of my account without my permission and I will erase my comment/review.
Hello Aryanna,
We were able to locate an account that was created on 06/03/2023 with our $1.00 7-day trial. Upon further review, it appears we did not receive a request to cancel prior to the end of the trial. In that event, your account was automatically renewed to the monthly subscription of $44.86.
When signing up for our background reports, the subscription does outline that it will auto-renew until elected to cancel. You can contact us to cancel at any time, and will not be billed for your next billing cycle. We were able to cancel and refund your account for the $44.86 subscription fee. Please let us know if we can be of any additional assistance at this time by contacting us at support@neighborwho.com
I am awaiting a company reply to a request for documentation regarding the origin of the account. PayPal investigated the matter and promptly reversed the charges. In the absence of documentation proving otherwise, I suspect fraud. If I do receive relevant documents, I will update this review. In the meantime, caution is warranted.
Hi there Rich,

Neighbor Who (NW) started charging my card in July 2022. When I called them to discuss they couldn't find the account under my name. Finally after being on hold with them for almost 30 minutes they found it under my X wife's name and when I ask them to validate they said that would be a violation of privacy for them to confirm it was her name they would not! I stopped it in September 2022 and they restarted it the same it on my new credit card from the same credit card company. They refunded me $190.92 of $763.68 and told me that the business office would be in contact about the additional $572.76. As a country we really need to bring hanging back! Absolute BS!

Website was enticing and showed that it was checking an address, then... it didn't give the results. Had to sign up, and register to get the results. Then after that, it said it couldn't find the address. I have requested a REFUND and that all my registration data be deleted. The Chat bot just said they would refund. I wanted assurance that my data would be deleted.
Hi there Jean,
Thank you for reaching out.
We would love to address this for you right away.
Please email us at support@NeighborWho.com Attention: Shonila
Thank you.
We look forward to your response.
I never authorized any transactions from this company. I wake up this morning to my bank telling me that 44.64 was billed to my account from Neighborwho.com. When I checked there website and called there 800 number I was told by an automated machine that An account was made using my phone # and email. I remember checking the history of the house I live in for 1 dollar. When I tried to cancel the automated service said sorry there was an error processing my account and kept kicking me back to the main menu I have t children that depend on my finances. I plan on reporting this company to the Better Business Buero on Monday.

Neighbnorwho.com charged my account $44.86 on 7-3-2023 after I cancelled my subscription on 6-25-2023 the same day I had the report done and signed up. I paid the $1.00 for the report and made sure that my subscription was cancelled via your website so I would not be charge the subscription fee. I even received confirmation from your site that the account was cancelled and no other subsequent fees would have been charged. Please remit me a refund of $44.86 for this erroneous charge. If my refund is not received I will report this incident to various customer service review sites such as BetterBusinessBureau, scamadviser.com, trustpilot.com and or sitejabber.com. Also if the refund is not received I shall also report this incident to the Federal Trade Commission and to my Iowa State Attorney General.
Hi there Millicent,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We apologize for the delayed response, as we have recently experienced some technical issues on our end that have caused longer-than-normal response times.
Please be assured that your account was cancelled and you were issued a refund of $44.86.
The refund was processed immediately on our end, however, please note that it may take up to 10 days for the refund to reflect on your bank statement depending on your financial institution.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Any company that makes no mention upfront of cost and lets a person believe that the process they are going through is free, is not one I want to get involved with... very wrong... very deceitful... plain "no good" in my book. Funny how. It was only when I hit the back button that they offered me $1 unlimited trial. Ha... no thanks. I can go to town hall and get most of this info for free,
I will be sure tell others of your questionable tactics.
I used this website for a bit, I could have saved myself both money and headaches through my own due diligence. Their data is highly questionable and just grabbed from other listings.
Just say 'no'.
Hi there James,
Thank you for contacting us.
We are sorry to hear that you were unable to find the information you were seeking, please know that we strive to update and expand our databases in order to provide you with the most current and accurate information we possibly can.

After I sat on the foolish site waiting for it to go through all of its silly time wasting exercises that really only take a fraction of a second, it asked me for money. I am so angry about this because they don't tell you about their charges until you've spent your time. I will most certainly be telling my friends to never use this site!
I signed up for $1 for a week with understanding I could cancel prior to $45 a month charge beginning. Out of two properties searched there was only information for one. I sent in a cancellation notice but heard nothing back. I then emailed customer service saying I wanted to cancel, but heard nothing back. I finally cancelled through my credit card company and got an email from Neighbor Who pleading with me to cancel my dispute filing with Fidelity Visa or it might take longer to get my refund. Sure Thing.
So I wanted to look up a property I did a search it's like we found information try our trial for $1 7 days. I'm like all right. I sign up get charged a dollar only for the website to turn on say we don't have no records for that address. That's a messed up bull$#*! why did I not get told that before I paid the dollar yeah it's just a dollar but that's shady business
Hi Michael,
We appreciate your feedback and would like more information related to the address that was searched.
Sometimes street name variations such as ave. Or avenue, N. Or North St. Or Street can impact the results of a search.
Any additional feedback you can share regarding your experience is welcome please email us at support@neighborwho.com
So I am into real estate and I was trying to get reliable date to purchase properties. They did give me a lot of data which seemed good. Then I looked up my own house and found out that they did not have my updated deed/mortgage. When dealing with real estate we cannot have incomplete information. So its not just nothing, but the data may not be complete.
Hi there Sunil,
I'm sorry to hear you ran into any inaccurate information in your reports.
NeighborWho's public records are collected through official government records such as mortgage deeds and court records, and through sources such as magazine subscriptions, warranty cards and utility bills.
As you just experienced, sometimes the information they collect is not always 100% correct.
However, we can only work with the information provided to us within public data.
We continuously strive to update and expand our databases in order to provide you with the most current and accurate information we possibly can.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us by emailing support@NeighborWho.com
Answer: Trying to get my money back! Have tried to cancel and you keep charging.
Answer: They are a scam! If you google them you will find many complaints including on BBB and Trustpilot
Answer: On the web page they had laid out nicely and worded correctly to lead one to believe that their information was all that anybody would want so I purchased it and regret it
