MyHeritage is generally well-regarded for its user-friendly platform and extensive database, which many customers find invaluable for tracing their ancestry and connecting with relatives. Users appreciate the regular updates and the powerful search capabilities that facilitate discoveries. However, concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to billing issues and the difficulty of reaching support. Some users have reported feeling overwhelmed by the volume of information and have encountered challenges in verifying data. Overall, while the service is praised for its features, improvements in customer support and communication are necessary to enhance user satisfaction.

I find it very easy to navigate and to build my family tree. Verifying records is good and DNA can be used to ultimately confirm your findings.
Nice to find birthdays of your aunts and grandfathers and lots of generations!
But the problem is the fact that all facts in Geni are not true.
My husband wanted a DNA test for his Christmas gift and as they were on special, I decided to get one for myself also, and so started my journey with MyHeritage.
We both went online and entered the required information, which started our family trees.
The kits arrived in a couple of weeks, and we did the tests straight away and sent them back.
It took awhile for the lab results to come back, but we were kept updated with regular emails.
From entering the required information, I started receiving emails with information that linked my family tree with other people.
As I entered more of my family details, I found so much information and so many links to others' family trees, that is expanding my family tree and filling in, what has been up to now, information that I could never find before.
I'm very impressed with MyHeritage!
I found ordering the DNA tests so very easy.
Very smooth process, easy to follow and quick to do. Thank you.
I have been a member of My Heritage for many years and have progressed as the system grew and acquired more data. Unfortunately, it has also become very expensive and I fear that I will not be able to afford the membership in the next few years.
It seems that the full benefit of MyHeritage cannot be enjoyed without subscribing to a newspaper archive for nealy $400.00. That seems absurdly expensive and I have no interest in pursuing it. Best wishes!
I have been using it since 2010. You can store photos, build a tree and find connections. It is easy and interesting
I'm pretty satisfied, but I'll mention it again. If I turn down discoveries, why do I keep getting them anyway?
My family is in Denmark, Germany and England. There are different spellings. They don't always need to be corrected. They are correct even if they are spelled differently.
And it is possible to become a father at over 7o. That is always criticized. Please take the person and look it up on Google.
I have learned so much about relatives who lived near me as I grew up, but I knew nothing about them. I had no information about my mother's family because they had passed away young. I have been able to piece this part of my family together.
It is wonderful that I can share this information with other family members.
The Smart matches help confirm my info, provide more precise info, and often lead to adding previously unknown relatives. The site constantly looks for new contacts, relatives, and info for my research and makes their findings available. On occasion, they share events like anniversaries, birthdays, etc for your family which often also reveals new info. The site works for you even when you are not working.
In spite of the inaccurate explanations written, I do not understand and why you have changed the pourcentages of my own first data and also "lost" entirely some other data? Moreover, I believe only in the genetical data and not in the genealogical ones coming from papers very difficult to read and often which lie to "adapt" the false reality according to the ideology ruling these periods. As we say from a long time ago: mother is sure but father maybe. So only the genetical results are credible and reliable never the paper files..
There are a multitude of reference options for doing just a quick search or going as far back as you can, I'm back to the late 1500s on my tree.
I am a very happy user of MyHeritage and I have been using it for many years. I am always excited to learn new things about my ancestors and finding out the many people that I am connected to.
After putting some names and dates you know by heart, it was quick to get names of other relatives and fill the tree with help of someone else family tree. Of course there might be mistakes, but you have at least something to follow. Mastering of your tree is your work anyway.
MyHeritage has linked us with a Cousin that neither of us knew about each other. We met and got on so well. I was able to clear up lots of family questions for him. This has all been due to my research and the research of other users and their Family Trees.
Was able to gather & verify information, which is a bonus and a half, through documentation & existing family trees. Unfortunately, like everything, too expensive to continue so have decided to spend a year correcting our family tree & save up to have another year of gathering info. See you in 2026.
The web interface works well. The key area to be careful about is automatically importing "Smart Matches." Other users may not be as keen on paying attention to the details of building a family tree. I always try and find corraborating information before adding this type of information to my tree.
I had a serious problem on the site page and I turned to help through Instagram. They answered me very quickly, and solved my problem. I am satisfied with the proposed option. Thanks a lot.
We really like the features and research capabilities and have been longtime members. However, I do find that it is getting more and more expensive to be a subscriber and marketing has become very aggressive. We enjoy every other aspect of My Heritage, just not the upselling and increasing fees.
Well, where do I begin?
A simple swap, send it away, just simply opens a door.
This consists of multiple exits, exits that spread far and wide. Following the links brings an episode/chapter that is unique.
The information just keeps flowing. It is indeed a wonderful path of history.
Matches seemed like a good idea at first, but the fact that they don't contain info on sources is a problem. I understand that MyHeritage wants to solidify the larger tree, but doing it without sources isn't helpful to anyone.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.

Please right click on the FTB icon on your desktop, and click on 'Properties': Once you have opened the 'Properties' menu then click on the 'Compatibility' tab: If the field "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" is checked, and it says below "Windows 7", uncheck the box.
