MyHeritage is generally well-regarded for its user-friendly platform and extensive database, which many customers find invaluable for tracing their ancestry and connecting with relatives. Users appreciate the regular updates and the powerful search capabilities that facilitate discoveries. However, concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to billing issues and the difficulty of reaching support. Some users have reported feeling overwhelmed by the volume of information and have encountered challenges in verifying data. Overall, while the service is praised for its features, improvements in customer support and communication are necessary to enhance user satisfaction.

I've used My Heritage for about three years and have had a lot of success in building my family tree and finding information and matching information on my ancestors. I like that they add more data periodically. I have also done the DNA tests from My Heritage and found a few cousins I didn't know about. I don't really pay much attention to matches that come back with the really low percentage of accuracy, so I haven't dug into those.
Great research tools to find more information than I expected to find about my family history and stories to be able to hear about relatives that were way before I was born and their journey that led to me being here on this earth. Also I'm always surprised on how some of them have similar attributes either in jobs and family that many of us currently have in common.
Overall, I am impressed with the smart searches to dig up many different sources, mostly relating to my family tree and helping me build an accurate, complete tree. The suggestions are helpful and a reminder to go in and check out these smart finds and incorporate the info or disregard it. I like the system and the fullness it brings to the table. The consistency checker is also a cool tool to keep things straight.
Great platform! Powerful functions and features! May be i am not aware of it, but to search according to fields like birthplace or place of death etc. would be very helpful.
Over all MyHeritage allows people to construct and/or import an existing family tree easily. The site is pretty easy to use and the help files are quite useful. One thing that I find disappointing is that the suggestions/hints provided seem to promote other peoples family trees above the links to vital records. While I find other people's research useful in furthering my research, I'm a trust, but verify kind of person. I have found too many errors in other people's research to just not verify the information.
MyHeritage is a great company. For a 76 year old guy I have limited computer knowledge as a start point. Your videos are great but they go so fast and I become lost in the process. Issue - I am trying to send the trees to individual families but it is to complicated.? Is there a written step by step guide to exporting specific family trees data?
I have researched many of my ancestors, and as most of them are from Europe I have had great success because of MyHeritage. I was able to connect easily with others that were searching for the same thing.
I think it is time to improve the look and feel. For instances, get an easier way to visualize and navigate the tree. Also, show inconsistencies in the tree. Last but not least, the subscription is extremely expansive for us in the emergent countries. I could get a better deal through your client service, but very unlikely to keep the subs ion the future, only because of the price, unfortunately
If you can afford it, it is a great program and useful tool. It opens up so many doors and such a hurry that it is hard to describe here. I have been into genealogy for over 40 years and MyHeritage stands head and shoulders above the rest.
Very pleased with my heritage and the possible links to other trees, not sure if I would have found these connections, my wife and I also have our dna details on here, but most have not lead to any firm links at present, after spending the last 25 years putting our trees together we still find interesting people on here, thankyou all!.
The frequent offers of fresh information about my family tree are beginning to get tedious, for two reasons.
A) Many are irrelevant: e.g. I have absolutely no wish to send birthday greetings to a 3rd cousin's second wife's grandchild– who I've never met. Some sort of filtering limits should be placed on the robot that generates these messages.
B) All that are relevant, e.g. fresh details gleaned from an overlap between my tree and someone else's, where we share relatives, require me to upgrade my membership at a vastly greater cost.
Perhaps if a) was dealt with efficiently and curtailed, the savings in resourcing could be used to reduce the costs mentioned in b).
In short, MyHeritage is offering too much irrelevant information and as a result, pricing themselves out of the market of people who might conceivably upgrade their membership.
MyHeritage sends emails with suggesting record matches. It keeps me focused on my family tree. What I really like are the tools, like colourization, animation and the option to clarify blurry photos. Great genealogical program!
Interesting results after DNA test.
Family tree for numerous branches easy to create and improve.
Regular mails announcing new discoveries and probable lineage.
Very useful webinars... and greatly appreciated prizes! (thank you)
I used to have the access to invite other family members, but it was taken off this year because I'm not the one who started the tree. However, the one who founded the family tree, gave me all the rights because she doesn't use it any more. She's with Geni. The access was taken off because I had started another tree but I have now deleted it. I sent a note to the original founder, but since she's not with MyHeritage, I haven't received the answer and unfortunately don't know her email address. I've been a member for eight years, always had the access to invite family, so I don't know why I'm treated this way.
The Team at "My Heritage" should be highly commended for their efficiency in helping me build my Family Tree. I have been with them for some time now and always get emails with links to further my ancestry. I have just under 15,000 ancestors and relatives, mostly with the help of the team. I have done some of my own research, however, a huge number has been reached with their help. Can't thank them enough.
Searching for our forefathers and their families has been an challenging project. The family names, their locations, the quantity of family members as we search back, generation, after generation! Most interesting where photo's of past generations have been salvaged, it's surprising to see the "family" photo resemblances from one generation to the next!
I love finding my Ancestors on MyHeritage. I usually find someone who has the same ancestry that I do and compare information. We may not have the same dates but that only means I research more. This work is very important.
I have the premium subscription but keep getting issues with research and the annoying MAXIMUM USAGE message even though I might not have used site for days
I've been using My Heritage for some years now and I love it! First rate website and app (I use both). The range and quality of data is almost too huge to comprehend and customer service is first class. I've just traced family branch back to 1300! I've found family all over the world. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
