I found lots of family from the past. There's just one thing I found out. Be very carefull with copying what other found out in their search. Often people with same names are mentioned in the searchlist, even with comparable birthdates, but some are no family at all

I appreciate working in MyHeritage as it helps me to manage my "paper-genealogy" and all DNA-tools from one and the same account. I even appreciate that I can manage all DNA-kits in the same account.
The pedigree-surface is easy to navigate and it's easy to make changes there. I even enjoy the DNA-tools. I mostly filter DNA-matches according to smartmatches, sometimes even by shared surnames. I would appreciate if I even could filter DNA-matches by shared places (towns, villages).
The resultats are succinct and have thaught me nothing. No site source. The marketing " attached" to this genealogical research seems to take priority once you're identified!

I had Myheritage for some years now.
The only thing is your price, sometimes.
I started with a gedcom files created from files that no errors. Once upon loaded. I was told there were 100s of inconsistencies. Most of the problems were dates that transferred partially or just plain wrong. I notified My Heritage but never got a response. The problem has grown as information has come from other sources..

Voorheen kon je als je een gratis account had, andere eigenaren van stambomen een verzoek sturen tot toegang. Als je dat nu doet, kom je altijd bij een lidmaatschap uit. Zonder een abonnement kun je kennelijk niet meer dat soort verzoeken sturen en dat vind ik niet kunnen. Immers, het zijn stamboomonderzoekers die al het werk verrichten en jullie faciliteren alleen middels jullie platform. Moeten de abonnementskosten dan zo verschrikkelijk hoog zijn terwijl al het werk vóór jullie gedaan wordt?

When I started to investigate my family tree(s) I was astonished to see how far I could go back. There is a lot of information on the site and when you put a family member's name in your tree, there may be soon a warning that other members of MH also have this person in their tree and probably with more members you did not even know that they existed. And so you help each other.

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to support@myheritage.com and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
