Be very careful. People Finders will enroll you on a regular subscription and charge every month. 50 phone minutes hold to cancel.
They do not respect their customers at all. I would never sign up with them again and I regret that I did in the first place. Mostly their service is useless! Besides that, you better know exactly what you are agreeing to because their customer service will hang you with it!
I contacted the on the day the subscription renewed - I cancelled the subscription, but they charged me for that month and just sent me a form letter telling me that they WOULD NOT give me a refund for the next month and told me in their 500 page agreement, I had agreed to it! They are just thieves!
I used PeopleFinders just once, I mean, an one time purchase $1.45 to obtain a phone number. A couple days later, they took $24.95 from my account, I believe for a service subscription which I have never requested. I replaced my bank card immediately and now I am waiting for my bank dispute process. So frustrating.
Although I paid for the useless information they provided, but they went ahead and charged me for monthly service that I did not ask for and refused to refund the subscription fee. It's s scam to part you with your money.
I initially signed up for an all time access for a small amount because they said it's a largest discount forever. Less than a month later, I saw a 69.95 on my credit card. It says I will be billed 0.00 per month as I underlined. I am going to call them and hope they settle this down. Otherwise, I will report fraud to the FTC for sure.
Ripoff. PeopleFinders runs a cleverly deceptive website. They automatically charged me a monthly fee of $24.95. I've tried to call and email them for an explanation. To date, I have not received a response. Don't get ripped off.
They will keep charging your credit card even though it is just for one search. I have been in the dispute with this company Ever since I noticed a fraudulent charge on my credit card and trying to get it reversed
I had tried Peoplefinders.com last year and I quit trying because information they provided was outdated or wrong. I Google searched for someone's email address and Peoplefinders.com offer popped up offering 3-day Free trial on July 2. I tried and again information was worthless and on July 3, bank notified me of charge for $29.95. I went on their site, having planned to cancel on 3rd day and saw they charged my card on 2nd day before I could cancel. Contacted their customer disservice and received long list of reasons customers cannot get refund. Essentially, "the sun rose today, so Peoplefinders.com will not issue refund". Tried several times to contact founder and chairman Robert Miller, but no reply where he is insulated from customers by their customer disservice group and will be able to swear in court, he did not know how they effectively steal customer's money as evidenced by the MANY Better Business Bureau reports and on other review sites.
First time I canceled after 2 months because backgrounds are not the best. I contacted them and asked to cancel again and they offered me a lifetime 69.95 one time fee. I agreed because what the heck, maybe they'll get better. 3 months later that one time fee made its way to my account again. I disputed it with my bank and peoplefinders canceled my account because I disputed the second charge. Do not fall prey to them, they'll rip you off
If you use PeopleFinders.com, beware of their monthly fraudulent/unauthorized billings of &29.95 to your credit or debit card you use to make purchase the purchase. Once they have your card on file, they WILL place a charge each month whether you sign up for membership or not. When you ask for refund, they will issue an immediate refund but only if the last month they charged you for. If I can give them a 0 star, I would. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has experienced this and would actually think this is grounds for a great class-action lawsuit against PeopleFinders.com!
I called PeopleFinders as I paid for what I believed to be a one time charge for a back ground check. I continuously get charged even though I have canceled. He asked me, "What is wrong with you for allowing his charged to continue". I let him know that I have attempted to cancel. He told me he would cancel my membership, but couldn't help me any prior charges. That was just the way it was...company policy. I have never been treated with such disrespect. :/
Signed up for the 3 day trial, two days later (a Saturday) tried to login to cancel. "You're account has been disabled. Please contact customer care." Customer "care" doesn't answer. I'll have to call my bank on Monday to stop pay, which will undoubtedly be too late to stop their charge. All these bad reviews... why haven't they been shut down?
Whatever "agreement" I unknowingly became saddled with was at least inconspicuous and at most purposely hidden. Watch your bills carefully! Too bad times are so tough these people can't find an honest way to pay their bills. Blame it on Bush.
Please do not waste your time or money by using this site. It is rated only a "1" by almost all reviews by legitimate raters. I paid $29.95 and received NOTHING except my own husband's address. Take that little disclaimer they put in fine print to heart; the one that mentions something to the effect, "if the information is available." No birth, divorce, marriage or other records were pulled up. Shady people!
I am normally very careful about paying for any online service but this company really gives you nothing worthwhile for your money. Simple things that should have been easy, they apparently just skip anything that isn't publicly available. I could've done as well. Very misleading, cant imagine how someone could get enough info to be safe if one was pre screening a date, really this is a pathetic excuse of a business.
For what they charge and claim to provide it's the most inaccurate bogus report I've ever seen. I ran this on my son (47 yo) and they couldn't even get his name correct. Most of the rest of his info was also incorrect. Shows him married in one section but then shows him as never being married. I'm guessing trained monkeys could do a better job.
Ps if you go to cancel after you've joined and paid they don't tell you there's a cancellation fee on top of everything else...
Look at the faded type on your order acknowledgement! You think you are getting a one-time search for $0.95 but if you don't cancel right away, you're stuck with a $24.95 charge each month! Too bad they have to resort to this because it is a handy way to find old friends.
They provided me with addresses and nothing else.
Adding large Button "Continue to Report" next to trial offers
"no thanks Continue to Report" link very small.
They should show a synopsis of what they found before you have to pay.
Such as 2 Divorce Decree (county), 1 criminal record (city), 8 address... etc
This would help decide if it worth to pay for.
From what i see all these organization online saying they will give you a loaded report are scam, if they can't give you an idea of what they are selling you. Don't go there.
Don't fall for one-time-use: $. 99.
Hidden on the email is a $24.99/month charge if you don't cancel in 3 days... rude on the phone, they obviously make their money by tricking people who don't have time to read the fine (gray) print. DO NOT USE!
Absolutely fraudulent. Do not waste your time or money. I needed a background/property record check for a legal proceeding, so I paid $19.95 for a one month membership. When I received the report, it was basically blank except for the person's current address, and some relatives. It didn't even include things that I know are on public record in my/the person's home county. When I contacted Customer Service, I was flatly told there will be no refund. I am in the process of disputing this with my bank. FRAUD. FRAUD. FRAUD.
Answer: I am sorry but there is no such website as that. Searching for poeple's records could be costly for those websites. They have to make money off of you some way or another.
