However, concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to billing issues and the difficulty of reaching support. I've been working on my Family Tree for 25 years. There were times when I had to leave it because of work? But since going into semi-retirement, I've been able to spent hours and hours working on it. MyHeritage has given me the structure and freedom to build-on, research and confirm hundreds of people connected to me. Surprises and exciting finds have solved decades old mysteries and given closure to so many questions. The theory of relativity is one such benefit, which gave me the final piece of a puzzle. As time goes by and more mysteries are unravelled, questions answered and information shared, I will eventually be able to do a completed 10 generation fan chart for each of my immediate family members But until then I will enjoy the challenge and be thankful for the platform from MyHeritage 🌳
It has been a very successful experience as I have found that my family tree has become greatly enlarged by tracing members back for several hundred years. This was a process that was enabled by the MyHeritage app which is easy to follow and work with.
I logged in to have a look at some data - found what I wanted, and then logged out. Less than an hour later I attempted to log in again only to be informed that my access has been blocked for 24 hours due to "irregular activity". Earlier this week I just agreed to sign up for a multi-year subscription - not impressed with the service or results so far.
This is such a great site for family history research. I love receiving hints from other users' family trees who are related to me, even if it's a far distant relationship. It all helps to fill in the gaps in my own knowledge. It's fabulous to see my tree growing so many branches!
Great App and easy to use. Loyal customer over 10-12 years. The only issue is the yearly fees that are too much. I know that there is a lot of work and facilities in it but i am sure myheritage company can reduce them
I enjoy spending hours sifting through many the suggested members of my ancestors. It keeps me off other social media sites, lol. Over a few years I have grown my family tree to be many thousands of people now.
What can I say? Every time I turned on computer there was a message with some information regarding my heritage. It really became fun just to open the computer and get excited who I learned about today. I went in too many directions and got a little confused at times because I was trying to cover my Father's side and my Mother's side, then my husband wanted me to dig into his past.
Wonderful in all ways but one. Despite many requests, you STILL insist on calling my ( indisputable) biological Father, my Stepfather. I cannot help but feel it's hurtful, to the memory of a wonderful man.! Otherwise, I find the Site very informative. Thanks.
Easy to set up your family tree and plenty of matches arrive via email, not always connected to your family so you have to be a little careful. Certainly helped me grow my tree, expanding every day with new far distant relatives.
For my wife and I, tracing our family ancestry has been a very fun & enriching experience! I've traced mine on my father's side as far back as the early 1300's in England. I've been amazed at some of the things I've learned from My Heritage. I'll be sharing this knowledge with my children and grandchildren.
Some of the screens don't totally load large enough to see them. One can not expand the margins either. And the family tree options are tad frustrating. The fan option with the hand...awful, that grab and release is annoying. I find clicking on the BACK arrow does not take me to the previous screen, but another screen. I would like to be able to move between screens without having to start the 'selected option', all over again.
Since joining My Heritage, the information I have obtained regarding my past family members and ancestry has been more than I could have imagined going back almost 30 generations. Even though it can be addictive, it is also most rewarding and valuable for future interested generations to have at hand and explore..
Being a long time subscriber to My Heritage I am pleased with the information that is sent to me via email regarding my past ancestors. I have built up a good family tree through this and look forward to more exciting features in the future.
Thanks to the information on MyHeritage, I was able to thoroughly research my maternal family history. I have been doing research with MyHeritage for over 2 years, it has been a wonderful period full of discoveries. Professional data, contact with people researching their roots from practically all over the world, the database is constantly updated.
MyHeritage was a real discovery for me! I took a DNA test and learned so much about my origins — some results were truly surprising. Thanks to the service, I found relatives I had never heard of before and even saw rare photos of my ancestors. It was a very interesting and heartwarming experience that brought me closer to my roots. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about their family.
My DNA had very strange results, at odds with my 40 years of research. To help me, Myheritage gave DNA tests to my half brother and children. Once the results arrived, knowing how stressed I was, they contacted me, helped find my birth father's family, and paid for me to meet my unexpected family.I can't set date below but it was around 2018.
Generally an excellent family tree software but ……. Ease of use when receiving hints by email. Finding the corresponding person is sometimes difficult. Working with DNA is difficult. Ancestry is more logical and easier to use.
Rubin was very kind and patient throughout the whole process. He explained everything clearly and made sure I understood every step. His professionalism and friendly attitude made the experience perfect from start to finish. Highly recommended
This is a great site to build your family tree. I only have one negative point and I hope they correct it. There should be a person to person contact number for when one has to talk to someone in control. Computers and AI are good tools, but I am a little old-fashioned and still like the human input.
In a nutshell, it works well. Value for money, maybe a 7 out of 10, after a while I found I would need additional add ons like Newspapers to get the full picture which incur extra fee's. To create the basic tree My Heritage works very well, to add all the leaves takes much longer and needs more $$$ spent. Starting from scratch the building of a family tree can be a rewarding experience, as you get deeply involved this site has some limitations, still I consider it a useful site to be connected with.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team (support@myheritage.com).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to support@myheritage.com and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
