They know the amount of updates that end up breaking the entire system. Windows Update KB 4 5 6 5 5 0 3 to now WSL2 still doesn't work properly without the user intervention, uninstall programs that Microsoft forces you to install.
Ever since microsoft released teams, i've been forced to use their servises, teams, word, outlook and excel (which is their only good piece of software). Its blatant market manipulation, and they are thiving scum, with a monopoly on the market. And they don't even make thier apps userfrendly. I don't get it.
I prefer to use linux, and open source writing programs, i know its not for everyone but i wish i still had a choise.
I am ms user for 20 years. And was really annoyed by bad software compatibility. And in win 10 spying stuff is really looks terrible. I don't want to waste insane amount of time for turning it off.
The sales figures are not at all surprising. People do not want an Xbox 360 console AND an Xbox One console under their TV. Microsoft has already addressed the always-on and Kinect issues (which were valid issues), to their credit.
Make the Xbox One back-compatible where your DISCS can be used in the console, and watch the sales of the XB1 go astronomical.

I have been trying for 2 months to get Microsoft to help me with my Surface 3. The first agent lied to be about a temporary replacement device and charged my credit card $1500 for me to 'borrow' a working device while mine (still under warranty) was fixed. They sent me a computer with a keyboard that's backing physically depresses when I use it.
Three replacements later, I now have to send back the only one out of FIVE of these computers that has been in useable condition so that they will return the charge on my card. I have spent over $100 calling them long distance, and half of the time that I called they disconnected me and didn't call back. I have asked for a supervisor every time but no one will let me talk to one.
No one has offered me any kind of solution.
They won't call me when I request contact, there is no clean way to get ahold of someone without spending obscene money on long distance calls, and when I do call I still don't get any help.
I am a full-time student and single mother of a disabled 4 year old. I am trying to provide for my family by getting an education that will allow me to support my son from home so that I can care for him, and instead I just lost a whole lot of money that I didn't have to begin with because Microsoft doesn't feel responsible for their customer service, and I still don't have a computer that I can use. They have 'closed' my case multiple times when they know there hasn't been resolution.
We have a ticket open with them for almost a year, they broke the functionality and don't know how to fix it. Can you believe this company is making tons of money with this kind of service?
Though I will admitt I was messaging a player in my own defense with my personal choice of context. But nothing threatening of the sorts. Just name calling. But wouldnt anybody if an online game hacker was harrassing you? Okay then. So because of that I got suspended therefore I could still game but Cannot message NOBODY. Then the following day I'm in the middle of gaming and OUT OF NOWHERE my whole account got banned permanently but stated they can't give me details as to reasons why. But the last message I got from that hacker was "how's that coming ban?"... seems to me Microsoft is very easy to manipulate and hack for other players to steal from your wallet and mess up your account. They have this "community standard" but I wonder what that is? They can't even protect people's accounts that people are PAYING them to have? Not only does Microsoft gyp you for your money but they don't have customer service line nor do they protect your account.
There is absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! I am locked out of my account. There is no number to call. To get a call back, you have to log into your account...which I can't do! Used my spouses account to request a call back. They said they couldn't help me. To try the verification questions again (which we did and they did not work). Tried to get another callback and I have "reached my quota for callbacks for the day, try next business day". This company is a scam!
Bought a game but it was the wrong one by accident. I gave it a try for like maybe an hour to see if this would be Just as good but it wasn't. So i asked for maybe a refund so i could get the game i wanted to purchase in the first place but No. Once opend it completly voided. Wich isn't necceraly True if you Read the refund policy. I've ben a loyal costumer for more than 10 Years and they didn't even try to help me. First time ever i asked for something too. Biggest bull$#*! an worst costumer service i've had in a long time. They say they value your opinion, but Nothing is less True. You're Nothing more to them than an ant to be crushed under their boot while they SIT in their Ivory Towers laughing at how you struggle. Microsoft product are cheaply made and they don not back there product! Worst Experience I have ever had, I got hung up on twice and all they wanted to do is make me jump through a bunch of hoops to get me frustrated and give up! Well you win! Not that it makes a difference im just one ant in a giant world of users but just be warned that if you buy there products they WILL NOT BACK IT AT ALL!
I don't understand how to get these losers off my back. I WILL NEVER PAY FOR 365, nor do I care at all about saving anything on a cloud anywhere. I'm so sick of them trying to force me to use pins, to use their trash Edge, why they think it's ok to change my entire home page from my settings and files to come in and instead see they ran some POS update that instead moved all my files to where they feel is best and put a bunch of apps and crap that I never asked for and will NEVER use. Bought the surfacebook laptop for myself 3.5 years ago. Only minimal use. Battery dies one day without warning. Well guess what? No way to change the battery. Microsoft wants $450 bucks…"to change the battery". Is this battery special? Why so much money? Turns out this is the usual tech giant move to try to force you to buy a new computer. Are you kidding me? I am SOOOO TIRED OF THESE GREEDY JERKS. When is the government going to step in and smash these ruthless pinheads? The environment doesn't need to be pillaged for more lithium, metal and polluted with more plastic. Not to mention the waste of hard earned money. MICROSOFT YOU ARE GOING TO HELL SOMEDAY. Do not buy anything from them! I purchase a $3,300.00 surface book online and immediately tried to cancel. Was told I couldnt and could apply for refund. Applied for refund and was told I had to wait till item shipped. Called back after item arrived told they had technical issues and couldnt print a return label. Waited 2 weeks for return label. After printed mailed pc back in origional box unopned. Package recieved in EL PASO TX July 16th, still no refund. Was told by them that refund was 3 to 5 days. On day 7 now with no refund. Told they are investigating and will get call back. No calls back. Hung up on numerous times. Basically I was robbed for $3,300.00. Lost my money and looks like I now need to go to court.
I bought a couple games off Microsoft and every single time I buy a game they charge me double for example I just bought Call of Duty Vanguard it was $65 $130 is charged on my account and they will not refund me the extra $65 because they say that there's only one charge but my bank statement says otherwise needless to say I will be telling people not to shop here and I will not show up here ever again
NOT EVERYONE HAS A STUPID SMARTPHONE- this ridiculous requirement that the account is somehow safer because everyone has to have an APP on their phone - for personal users, for schools, who simply USE the Microsoft basic DESKTOP functions. You MUST let people make their OWN choices! Requiring this APP on a smartphone just means Microsoft wanted a way to gather data like other apps - that is ALL this is! If I could boycott Microsoft I would.
Microsoft Support. What a laugh! On Friday I spent 6 hours on the phone while support agent worked (?) on my computer trying to fix OneNote. Tier 1 couldn't help and they passed me to Tier 2. Tier 2 couldn't help me directly but they started the OneNote sync process which (I know from previous syncs) would taake hours. The agent told me that if this did not work I should contact Support again and have Tier 3 assist.
On Tuesday I called Microsoft again. After waiting on hold for 4 1/2 hours Microsoft hung up on me. All this time I didn't even talk to an agent. I called back and when I got to Dave, an agent I asked for Tier 3 support. He went in file (using the case number I was given) and said the file showed closed. He did transfer me to Tier 2, Melody but after introducing herself, she too hung up. Way to go Microsoft. After years of being dedicated to Microsoft and the PC, the only thing I have to say after this disappointment- MAC here I come.
Microsoft has become the worst version of itself. It arbitrarily deleted my hotmail account that I had for more than 30 years! (talking about loyalty) It made me to create an "alias" which will help to recover my account in case of a problem happens. Well as soon as I created the "alias" them DELETED completely my email account and there is no power on earth that make them response to my reports, no answering calls, only automatic useless responses. They make a joke of their customers with the message: "talk to a person" only to let me wait for two hours, yes 2 hours that is how important is this to me and the only text that they show is: thank you for waiting you are in the list.
I am devastated my whole personal and business life is in that account and it no longer exists!
It only happens on March 28th.the only response that I have received is that that account no longer exists :( and now I have lost not only history but important business relationships that I don't have other way to contact them. I hate this monopolistic way of messing with our digital life. I will turn my view to Google now, lets see if they don't do the same.

Have you ever been in the middle of doing important work, and all of a sudden your computer shuts down to do updates? Usually you can just go into your settings and tell the system to inform you about updates but not to install them until you tell it to. This is no longer the case with MS. Apparently, you can customize your setting all you like, but the system will still update without your permission. And don't think that customer support can help explain this, since MS tells their reps to just read verbatim from the troubleshooting guide and ignore the actual problem being communicated. Today, I lost information that is irretrievable, and the work must be started over. It's not the kind of information that can be recovered since it was on a web-based simulator, and the simulation must be done from start to finish. When MS decides that they will sell a product that the customer can control, and not the criminals that run the company, I will consider letting them live in peace. Until then, I will be making their customer service reps hate living.
If I use multiple tabs and use say " bing", as another search engine, my PC hard drive goes into hyper mode and starts freezing up and I literally have to start over with what ever I'm doing. I deleted alot of the Microsoft in my settings but it keeps updating, I have no control over my PC.
Answer: Scam for sure. If you cancel a subscription they will not refund you under any circumstances. I can't stand this company
Answer: Prohibit updates so they cannot mess up your machine by going to services and disabling the service for updates listed. Don't forget to disable all the repair service thingys too. Hope that MS will not against your will and knowledge STILL inject code into your system or further hack you.
Answer: Well my first impression is I'm surprised you say you have a college degree. You didn't mention if it's a BA, or BFA, but either degree requires the ability to spell and use grammar correctly. This isn't a school room, but for a college grad to post their thoughts on a public forum that is at a high school level is (if you are a college grad), a sad commentary on our educational system. As for Microsoft being garbage, I do agree. It started out great and Gates encouraged employees to think outside the box, try EVERYTHING and give the product's organization feedback, which made the company number 1 with office software. But, starting with Steve telling employees it's a "terminable" offense to have a Rim phone, makes no sense. But that's the philosophy now, under no circumstances Challenge our products. Don't give us feedback on our app's, just tell us they are better than anyone else's! I remember when MSN pushed Microsoft employees to go to their internal site that has MSN on one side of the UI and Google.com on the other side. The purpose was to CHALLENGE MSN. Try both together then forward your thoughts. The intent was 1. Let Microsoft know where MSN lacks so that 2. They could make it GREAT. Unfortunately, many versions later MSN didn't figure out how to make an awesome search engine and Google is still the King, but that's how Microsoft became great, Challenging their products. Now they're really losing credibility and the public is pivoting to Apple and Open Source.
