Ordered a gift from the wedding registry on July 1st for a wedding taking place on August 8th. It is now September 2nd and it has still not shipped. I've lost track of how many emails I've sent to customer service and their responses have been boilerplate bs with no resolution. Their customer service is past the point of terrible to simply non-existent. They don't even deserve one star. I may continue to attend their barn sale as it is great fun with friends but I will never order online again.
Beyond disappointed with this company. I ordered a bunch of items for a bridal shower I'm January never got emails as to when it was coming. 2 months later I finally called them asking them what's going on? This is unacceptable. The girl on the phone goes we have no idea when it's coming don't know what to tell you. That's how you treat a customer? What kind of business is this? I cancelled it. Now we're in November. I ordered Mackenzie child item on Neiman Marcus. Over two weeks no notification. Had to contact them they said now it's backordered. We're you going to tell me? Last email says Nov 23 and now it's the 27th and no item. Now you can't even call the place anymore because my mom also purchased something from their actual website the same time as me and no notification at all. Why even send people catalogs and allow people to order online if they can't deliver? What kind of company is this. Definitely will not be buying anything from them again. Stay far away!
I bought my sister the cast iron cookbook stand for Christmas this year. The item was broken when we received it. I notified MacKenzie Child on Jan. 2nd 2021. Mackenzie child will not replace it with one that is not broken. They have a lost a costumer for sure!
I and my friend have a large collection of now discontinued Kringles. Patience Brewster was one of their designers and I tried to get my friend a new ornament of hers. I cannot get any response except I see it has not shipped and there is a hold on the price on my Visa. Every day I get emails asking if I want to buy the very ornament I already bought and no confirmation email or response to my emails. I may have to refuse payment and force them to cancel my order.
The glass table top was backordered so I tried to find another vendor which was able to supply me with a tabletop within a week. I ordered at around 3pm on March 22 and cancelled the order around 3.20 pm on March 22 the same day since I was able to get it from another supplier. I got a response from Mackenzie Childs that it was processed and I had to wait for the glass table top and return it. I read their return policy and I would have to return it at my own expense. I explained that I did not want them to process a BACKORDERED item so it could not possibly be an order that was on its way to me or even processed.
So far no response.
Very disappointed in a company that I had admired from a distance for many years. But I just read all the reviews and I would say buyer beware.
Terrible customer service. Would not honor free shipping on order. One day after placed, they offered free shipping, I was told at the time I placed the order that they would credit any discounts offered within 10 days of order, but thet would not honor.
Ordered a MacKenzie Childs table runner in early November. Called early December to check on status. Customer Service recording said they were closed due to Covid (can't work from home?). MacKenzie Childs kept charging my bank account when the charge fell off (they sure can keep up with that). Cancelled the Order in late December and they immediately charged my bank account and sent the WRONG Order. It takes days to respond to emails. They emailed a return label and said to print it out and go to UPS to return it and THEN they will send the RIGHT order. Told them no thank you, do not want to risk Covid - that's why I shop online and cannot trust them to handle the return and shipping of the right order. Very rude and no apologies. Will not order from MacKenzie Childs again.
I ordered an item almost 2 weeks ago, but have yet to receive it. I have not even received a "shipped" email. I gave them the benefit, and tried calling their customer service. No answer; due to Covid the call center is closed. REALLY? No one can work from home... OK, so I used the email address they provid to their customerservice: 2 emails later, I have not even received an answer.
Conclusion: they have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!... and frankly - their items are expensive enough!...
So, don't waste your money buying from them...
AS OTHERS HAVE STATED, I PLACED TWO ORDERS 7/27 AND 7/30/20- FIRST ORDER RECEIVED IN ONE WEEK, SECOND ORDER AS OF TODAY, 9/11/20 IS MISSING IN ACTION- EMAILS ARE RESPONDED TO BY AN AUTOMATED RESPONSE THAT DOESN'T ANSWER YOUR QUESTION. LOVE THEIR PRODUCTS BUT WILL NEVER BUT ANOTHER ITEM FROM THEM AGAIN!
I ordered a $300 pumpkin that came damaged, you could hear the box rattling even before I opened it. I emailed them right away 2 times in the same day and nothing! I finally gave up and disputed the charge with my American Express because the online customer service doesn't get back to you. Then Mackenzie & Childs put another charge through on my credit card for the same amount, UNAUTHORIZED by me and I had to call my American Express again to dispute a second charge! BUYER BEWARE... DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY ONLINE! They are horrible and apparently they think they have the right to charge your card multiple times without authorization!
I purchased several of these very expensive teapots. My daughter noticed rust inside the teapot at the joint with the spout. She was shocked. I sent it back to Mac-Childs with a letter explaining what happened and just asking that it be fixed so she could use it. Instead of fixing or replacing this very expensive teapot, Mac-Childs just sent it back to me saying that I failed to provide a receipt so they would do nothing. Really... is there some question as to whether this very distinctive teapot came from somewhere else? So my warning to anyone looking to purchase this teapot is: YOU WILL LIKELY GET RUST INSIDE AND CANNOT USE IT. IF YOU TRY TO RETURN IT, MAC-CHILDS WILL NOT STAND BY ITS PRODUCT. I am very angry since I have at least two others with rust, and cannot use them. Thanks, Mac-Childs! I was a good, loyal customer--but no more!
I ordered about $2,000.00 worth of items to decorate a guest bath of our new home. I need ALL the items, after two months and MANY, MANY EMAILS to thier customer service department, on the rare occasion they bother to reply-THEY IN NO WAY ANSWER MY VERY BASIC QUESTIONS! It is infuriating! Thank GOD I put it on a card, I WANT WHAT I ORDERED, but I can always reverse the charges and they can CONTACT ME about getting the dismal amount of items I did receive (they are still in the box and would look laughable using them without the remainder of my order)
I have the spatulas, platter, cake plate, flower pot, large spoon, big oven mittens and MORE! Boy, you cannot get ahold of these people for a return. They are NOT transparent in their return address. Recently we purchased a apron which was not right. DO NOT BUY any of their fabricated items... or candles... the candles didn't even work, the dish towels faded so bad, I threw them away... the pepper mill never worked right and then finally, we had to put in another room. We called them about the pepper mill, but it was such a HASSLE to do business with them,,, NOW we have a 89.00 apron, PLUS tax, we don't like and we don't know WHERE to send it back, because they only do emails... VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE for the money we pay.
I purchased at the on line barn sale on July 27... have NOT received it! They have no phone to call; they don't answer emails... they tell you nothing... this is not the first time they have done this. In fact, they do it all the time. AND THEIR STUFF IS MADE IN CHINA!
I used to love Mackenzie-Childs now I don't know why I continue to order products that are so shabbily made and the majority produced in China. I ordered two products from them on their after Christmas 50% off sale. I received them today and the glitter on the wreaths banner was missing in spots which is very noticeable and the vase with enamel painting had the largest flower, that was supposed to be blue, with 3/4 of the paint missing like it had been scrubbed off or smeared. Not worth my trouble and hassle to send them back. Sounds like most people don't get their money back anyway. Just need to learn my lesson that this isn't the same company it used to be. I don't know why it's still so popular but it appears to be even with the shoddy workmanship and poor customer service. Their merchandise is way overpriced in my opinion but it really sucks when its overpriced and the quality and workmanship is less then desirable. I don't mind buying expensive products but if I'm going to pay the price I at least want it to be of excellent quality and well made.
Two bird feeders for my wife on March 9,2021. All chains broke by June, They will not replace or correct the problem. We had three feeders and all chains did not last over three months.
I had to cancel my credit card because they were authorizing my card every few days and tying up my credit. In the mean time I was getting emails 3 weeks after I placed my order that they were out of stock of some items but still were charging my credit card. Customer service is NON EXISTENT. After several messages back & forth because they wont answer phone calls since March due to covid. It is now mid July - youd think they could come up with a plan by now. Today I got a extremely rude call from customer service wanting a new card to charge. After trying to explain to Leslea O about my problem of being charged every few days Leslea O was extremly rude and I cancelled my order and she said No problem. I will NEVER deal with this company again. Total rip-off!
Parchment Check large ceramic platter I bought for a gift. It took forever to ship and I was so worried I wouldn't have it in time for the event so I messaged them weeks after I placed the order. Their response was vague. No commitment of a time frame just that it would ship "soon". Finally it did arrive a few days before the event broken and useless and this left me without a gift to give. This "platter" was hundreds of dollars and when I informed them it arrived very poorly wrapped and destroyed as a result of that all they could say was "we have no others in stock to replace it with- Sorry". They just didn't care. For an almost $400. Pottery platter I couldn't believe it. I am a long time buyer, have spent so much with this company over the years but that doesn't even register on their radar at all. Think twice. Don't have any regular expectations like you would with amy bottom barrel company - even Walmart. Walmart is truly a better experience and a much more dignified at customer service.
All i can say is OMG they have the worst customer service i have a couple of orders with them and some of them took about 2 months to get to me after i called them 1000 times asking about my stuff, this girl RENE is the rudest she almost hung up on me the other day when i called to ask about my order the other customer service lady said "yeah just keep calling everyday to check on your shipping date" WHAT DO U THINK IM FREE TO CHECK ON MY ORDER FOR 2 MONTHS
Oh i just dont know where to start. The horrible customer service started after they started growing and changed the order process. I will order something on sale or clearance and its visibly in stock, however, the processing time for orders is over 30 days. Once you place an order via credit card or paypal after 29 days they will not honor the charge. Then MacKenzie CHilds cancels the order and tells you to reorder. Well, needless to say the item is no longer available or no longer on sale and you are told you have to purchase at regular price. There is simply no longer items placed on backorder and shipped when in stock, they just cancel the entire order. The agents representing the company are horrible in knowledge and customer service. They act like they DONT WANT TO BE BOTHERED WITH YOU. This on phones and emails especially. Simply act like they dont need you as a customer at all. The loyalty program is a JOKE. I am a BLACK MEMBER and there is no special concierge service for you and there is a big hassle with any perk at all that you do get. I would say its your best bet to buy from a distributor or go directly to store. I mean as much as I love these items and products i wont buy anymore. I have found other designers just as whimsical and have superior customer service. I guess once you grow and expand you feel you have your loyal base and will just grow bigger but i assure this company that the way they handle the orders and say all year long there is 3-4 week delay in processing orders. Not shipping but processing orders. I think they are trying to get rid of some loyal customers
Answer: I would like to find out, I like their enamelware, not Ugly pottery, but the shipping time and service is terrible.
Answer: Not possible. Ive emailed now 6 times in 3 weeks with no response.
Answer: Their whole line ---- and I have two households with lots of Mac-Ken products inside and out --- is whimsical, happy, quirky... almost unique. It is NOT quality. Never was... Their products from kitchenware to chairs are for view, not for use. There is no quality in any of it. Just recently, I paid to have their kitchen side fish chair (almost $2K) repaired, my cost, by a furniture restorer here. It's a cute piece but is NOT for daily use. We owned it only two months and are empty nesters in a pandemic --- almost no use. STill, it's not for a large person. We are not large... Their tuffet arrived with one stool leg broken. These are pieces, once only American made, now coming from nearly everywhere else. Still, whimsical if you can get them. But don't order anything that you are not willing to lose the cost. And if it does arrive intact --- a $700 lampshade arrived with its lamp missing --- take care; you may not want to use it. That's the truth. And, again, I have two houses full of merchandise. But I am buying no more... until IF this ever resolves itself. The word is the company is going to fold.
