I bought their coupon for Amazon. Tried to use it a few weeks later (their confirmation system is lacking, to say the least), and found it had been used. I forwarded a copy of the coupons and letters from my email, after they responded that they couldn't give that info (who used it). They admitted it may have been used by someone else, then, but said I'd have to take it up with my cc co. In other words, "Your problem-we got you!". I'm notifying BBB and the Attorney Gen. And posting this BEWARE note!
I never recieved a purchased product or refund. A customer service stoped replying me... managed in a very unpofessional way.
I heard about LivingSocial on the radio and thought it would be a good way to advertise my Martial Arts business.
I filled out a form and received an email four days latter stating "your offering is not the perfect fit for us"
And "Do not respond to this email, it is not monitored and you will not receive a reply"
I couldn't believe how unprofessional and rude that email was.
It seems like a lot of people had problems with livingsocial when they ordered the Amazon deal. I used LS for the Amazon deal and there was no problem for me, and I also purchased another deal for a stay at an upstate B&B with no problems. For just purchasing and redeeming deals, I think the site is great. I've never had an issue where I had to call customer service so that could be another story... but overall... I'm happy.
My father and I both bought the same LivingSocial Escapes deal. We live in separate households and will use the deal at the same time for two different hotel rooms at the same hotel the same weekend. When we bought the deal they confirmed both our purchases and charged our credit card twice. We only received one voucher so I called them and they then told me they cancelled one voucher because it was the same credit card. Although we live in two separate households... I have been fighting with Living Social via phone and email for three weeks! Every time they say they will respond in two days and it takes 5 days. I call and sit on hold then they say no one can help. I have asked for a supervisor and am always told there is not one. Once I was put into someones voicemail but that was three weeks ago and I have never received a call back. Every time I ask for a copy of terms where it is stated that the same credit card is considered the same person I get no response. I have asked who I can contact to launch legal action - they ignore the question and just say sorry deal is over. My point is LivingSocial agreed to sell me something. They confirmed my purchase. They did not contact me to cancel my purchase ever and thus we had a legally binding contract - These people are ridiculous and outrageous. No one will help or allow you to get in touch with someone that can help. Ridiculous and absurd and awful customer service. They have basically told me they can't do anything to help - really? You have a relationship with the vendor - if you really wanted to help you could...
A friend of mine purchased a coupon for me on this site as a gift. She received a confirmation email saying that an email had been sent to me to retrieve my coupon. I never received this email. She finally asked me (she wanted it to be a surprise) if I used the coupon, and when I told her I hadn't received it she contacted the site to ask them to resend. Instead, they sent me the email they sent HER, making it impossible for me to retrieve the coupon without her account information. They were extremely unhelpful and, frankly, rude when I contacted them to correct the problem and I never received the coupon. She wasted her money, we both wasted our time, and I will never use or recommend this site. Very poor customer service, especially considering the much more efficient competition that's out there.
I've had a great experience using the site. Just got 5 oil changes for $15 last week. Payment was easy and I got my voucher the next day. Highly recommend!
This company has horrible customer service!
I wanted to see a final price on a trip prior to making my decision, and instead of showing me a final price or even asking if I was certain I wanted to purchase the $700+ trip for two to Cancun, the website charged the $727 to my credit card THEY KEPT ON FILE automatically. I cancelled the purchase immediately, but my card was instantaneously charged the money. When I called them to see if they would assist me in communicating with my bank, sending a fax to them letting them know the funds will not be collected so the bank will release them back to my account, they told me they absolutely do not communicate with banks via fax or phone. When I asked to speak to a supervisor to try and resolve the issue, the woman on the phone placed me on hold, but when the same woman came back on the phone she told me she confirmed with her supervisor that there was nothing they are willing to do.
She advised me to have the bank call them, and that I should perhaps be mroe careful with my purchases.
Terrible customer service, and absolutely no effort to assist me in resolving the problem. I will never use this company again and strongly suggest finding another coupon website that values their customers as people intead of numbers.
These malignant predators pressure businesses to sell their product or service for less than 50% off their regular rate, then take 50% of that. If you are a business owner, be prepared to experience a loss per customer. This was the absolute worst marketing decision I have ever made for my small business, especially since overly entitled customers are now writing negative reviews because they can't get what they want right when they need it! The quality of the customers has not been what we are used to either--a lot of these people "coupon hop" and are just looking for the cheapest deal, they don't get to know your business and understand what you really offer and show up with out of whack expectations.
Living Social also does not allow businesses to put a cap on how many vouchers they sell, so especially if you have a good reputation, you're going to sell a ton of them. I did research after I signed up for the deal and saw that other reputable people who did what I do had been reviewed negatively by LS coupon people, but they would not let me get out of the deal, so I was forced to run it. The only thing I can do is refer people to living social to get a refund if they're unhappy.
I think a lot of people that buy these coupons either don't realize how much of a loss businesses are taking on these, or they don't care if they drive a business to ruin. Never again.
Just had one of my deals canceled because the same credit card was used for two different accounts (husband and wife). I was told by a rather annoyed phone representative that there is nothing that they can do and this cancellation policy is listed in the terms and conditions. NOT TRUE! I have printed their terms and conditions and there is NO reference to their right to cancel if the same credit card is used for two accounts. They even implied that I was trying to do something sketchy by using the same credit card and having multiple accounts in the family.
I was always taught when a company makes a mistake, they should make it right. When living social makes a mistake, they blame it on the customer.
I definitely won't be recommending living social.
The deal said: "With 15 locations around SF, it's a snap to take advantage of this deal. You're so history, latte." I reasonably interpreted this to mean that I could use the deal at any of the 15 San Francisco locations. But, after trying to use the deal at the Quickly's on San Bruno Avenue, I discovered this was NOT TRUE!
I contacted Living Social about this. They took 4 business days to respond even though their automatically generated email said they would respond in 2 business days. When they finally responded, the person told me that the deal was clear that it would only work at the Larkin Street location (despite the unambiguous language quoted above!), but they would still issue me a refund.
I replied and said, yes, issue me a refund. I didn't hear from them for 10 days. Then I emailed again about my frustration at (1) not receiving a refund, and (2) not receiving any sort of response. Of course, the next day, I received an email explaining that it was more than 90 days since I purchased the deal, so they couldn't issue refund to my credit card, and instead gave me "dealbucks" - their store credit!
I don't want their freaking deal bucks!
Total fail. Bought a $30 for $15 coupon for a wine store but when I tried to use it they said it was withdrawn and, according to the merchant, I needed to go to livingsocial for a refund. I wrote and they refunded but the issue for me is the waste of my time and the fact that they did not contact me to let me know the deal was off.
I'll never go to that merchant again or use livingsocial again, I think they are a scam.
Horrible, Canceled vouchers without telling us. Ruined the whole trip. The customer servie is so horrible. They were not knowledgable and all they say is sorry. Like sorry fixes ANYTHING!
I never signed up with Living Social and from what I have seen they are partnered with Facebook and if facebook gave my email address to them I am deleting my facebook account as well. I will be also complaining to the BBB once I find out where they are located at.
LivingSocial only sends e-mails to people who have directly signed up with us. While we allow our users to connect their Facebook account to their LivingSocial account, it is not a requirement to do so.

SCAM for email addresses, they trick you into providing emails and then cancel my order so they take my leads and not give me the free credit. I got nothing for giving them email addresses except for a cancelled transaction on my end. I asked why it was cancelled and they said they didn't know, that I cancelled my own order. Haha, riiiight. Thanks for nothing. They should change their name to LYINGSOCIAL.

They promised to get me a free deal if 3 friends purchased a deal from them. I didn't even get any notification that friends had signed up and purchased the deal -- and I KNOW they used the link I provided to make the purchase.
Cheaters.
We would be happy to look into that for you. Please shoot an e-mail to help@livingsocial.com with the three e-mail addresses that purchased off of your link.
Thanks for LivingSocial!

I purchased a voucher, went to use it the next day and was told by the restaurant that the company had not yet set them up to accept it. I then had to pay full price for my meal and when I called L. S. they only could offer me a refund on the original voucher or I could ask the restaurant for my money back because they should have been set up for it. 25 miles away. Not to mention how embarrassing. I asked if they would get my money back for me. Sorry, nothing we can do. What crap.
Total Scammers. My credit card company gave me my money back! I bought a hair cut/colur etc for $79. I tired to make appointment. Noone would ever answer. I tried to email and call Living social no answer. Contacted my bank and as they got no reponse from them either I got my money back. Don't even bother wasting your time...
We are sorry to hear you had an issue making an appointment with one of our merchants. Ordered a restaurant coupon. It hit my credit card right away. Email for the coupon would not open or print. Customer service said they had no such order, even AFTER I sent them their own email. I emailed that I wanted a refund on my card four business days ago and nothing from them since. I disputed it on my card to stop payment. STAY AWAY.

Answer: I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone. A total nightmare. They take your money don't send the goods and they don't answer e mails
Answer: There do seem to have been some financial problems with many of the deals from Living Social. But when I had a problem they answered the phone and it was dealt with quickly and the goods resent.
Answer: Have you contacted the customer service at Livingsocial.com? I have found them to be pretty responsive in the past. This is a seperate review site.
LivingSocial is a leading "daily deal" site that sells discounted experiences and local services--restaurants, spa trips, home services, travel, etc.--via voucher. The consumer must pay for the voucher upfront, and the voucher generally must be used within a specified time period or it cannot be redeemed. To make these deals possible, LivingSocial sells merchants on its ability to help "find and keep more customers". LivingSocial is a private company based in Washington DC and its shareholders include Amazon.com.
We hate to think you had an issue with one of your vouchers. Be on the lookout for a message in your SiteJabber account from one our our Consumer Advocates and we can try to sort things out for you.
Thanks for LivingSocial!
