I recently took up the offer on the 2 movies for $9 and published the referral link on my friends couponsaving blog site and had well over 7 people buy this offer! I still got the deal at a great price but even better would be, FREE! I only received two emails first one saying "john doe purchase pending 1 more and your deal is free!" received another email 20 minutes later saying "jane doe purchase pending 1 more and yours is free." The "third" email never came. I verified on my friends blog to see who purchased it through my link and had a few more responses. I checked email again and no emails verifying purchases. I messaged living social a couple days ago with this problem... only to get an auto response and never responded by a real person. I sent a follow-up email and i didnt even get a auto-response this time. Horrible promotion! I will create a facebook livingsocial referral program is a SCAM page... just to see how many more dissatisfied customers there are!

So I don't know why everyone says living social customer service sucks but they don't. I decided to move last minute and had over 100 dollars worth of deals to use before then (which just wasn't going to happen.) I called them and within minutes they credited my card back with 133 dollars no questions asked. Living social is awesome! (So is Groupon!)
Misleading Ad. They are offering one-day deal of 2 Movie Tickets for $9. After you purchased it, it gives you a fine print where it says, the voucher (of 2 movie tickets) has its maximum value of $15. And it went on saying when redeem it on Fandango's website, you have to pay the difference between the maximum of voucher value and actual cost of a pair movie tickets. The point here is that it is not true that 2 Movie Tickets for $9. Everyone knows that in today's market, where can you get 2 movie tickets for $15? I am San Francisco Bay Area, AMC theatre charge Matinee $8.50, Child $7.75 and Senior $7.75 per ticket. So their Ad of 2 Movie Tickets for $9 is totally untrue.
Thanks, mark
I am extremely unhappy with the customer service that livingsocial has provided me with. I purchased Zarkana tickets through their website, the next day I decided to gift the vouchers (original intention) because I realized that the voucher's fine print mentioned that name and ID must match in order to reclaim tickets. I will personally not be attending the show since this deal was originally purchased as a gift idea. I was successfully able to change the name on one voucher but not the other. I called livingsocial immediately and they informed me that there was nothing they could do on their behalf and that I would have to contact Radio City Music Hall. After doing this I was informed by Radio City Music Hall that it was solely livingsocial's responsibility to change the name.
I proceeded to contact livingsocial and they informed me that there was nothing they could do. Not happy with that exchanged, I proceeded to call a third time and it was then that they informed me that there had been a glitch in their system and that the gifting option should have never been made available. This is unacceptable! After giving me the run around, it took 3 phone calls for them to inform me of this. I decided to contact them via e-mail and it took them two days to reply, thus shortening my 5 day window to file a return. Since the mistake was made on their part, and I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this problem, they should make their best attempt to make their customers happy. This experience only shows me that livingsocial does not care about its customers... Livingsocial, please create this negative into a positive and allow your customers to gift the Zarkana tickets. After all, this was a situation you created by not paying attention to detail.
First issue I had with them: I purchased a teeth whitening... Called the dentist beforehand to make sure it was the Zoom. They confirmed and I bought. When it came time to redeem, the dentist had changed his mind on the Zoom and did a take-home instead. But said it was better and worth more, I was supposed to use it 14 days... it hurt so bad (my husband and I both bought one and had the same issue) that we didn't get through day 2. We contacted LivingSocial and said we purchased one thing, got something else and wanted our money back... Back and forth, back and forth... no refunds made to either of our accounts.
Second Issue: I bought the Conceal/Carry Deal for $79 and they had you could buy range time for an additional $24 (I bought 1 of each) AND got 3 of my friends to buy the Conceeal/Carry deal from my link for $79... and I watched them order to make sure they used my link... of course my deal did not end up free... When I contacted LivingSocial to ask what happened, they said they found it and gave me a credit of $24... WTH? I bought the $79 deal and had three others buy the $79 deal... Here is their response "We apologize for any confusion regarding this promotion. The free deal will always be applied for the lowest priced option you paid for"
What a scam!
I do not think they look into their companies at all or they would know the company is not reputable. My mom bought a house cleaning from them and the people just sprayed stuff to make it smell better and mirrors that were clean before they got there, they "cleaned" and left with streaks.
Super frustrating... I'm going to post this to all the sites I can find. Soo fed up... There are way too many companies just like them to have to put up with this. Groupon, YoDeal, Cincysavers... etc
See charlie b. Comment. The short of it is, the company operating name is "Hungry Machine LLC" and does just that. It eats small business' revenue and provides very little or negative return. If you are a business considering joining this program, please please please be very considerate of what you are getting into. It will most likely not generate revenue, only customers and they may be as long lived as your offer.
I bought two fandango tickets for $9.00 and redeemed one but the second one couldn't be redeemed because I DIDN'T read the FINE PRINT that they needed to be redeemed together! That is my fault but I thought they should have included that in the heading. So it wasn't much of a deal. Fandango was nice enough to send it to their head office to try and get me another ticket but unfortunately it will be expired by the time i get it.
I work in hair salon for long time and we do with this cheaply people from livingsocial and groupon all day, but we have special product for there hair since they never come back again they go from salon to salon looking for free service... you get what pay for... losers
Unable to contact customer services despite sending numerous emails. The phone either doesn't connect or you are hanging on & on & on... need I go on. I have left their site and think others should do the same. Try KGB or Groupon
We are a local business in Los Angeles and wanted to advertise with livingsocial.com. We had great success with Groupon and was turned on to livingsocial from a friend.
Submitted our information a day later got a call from Christina (San Fernando Valley Rep).
It was a day and night difference between Groupon Rep and Christina. Goupon 5 star / Livingsocial 1 star. Was basically telling me how to run my business and at the end told me, "I guess we shouldn't work together."
Christina was not flexible and has to learn to use the right words when dealing with customers.
We take pride in our attention to merchant care and apologize for any misunderstandings. Please do not hesitate to contact me at our headquarters with any further questions.

Bought a deal on a hotel, found out was booked until November (since 2300 other people bought the deal, not LivingSocial's fault). Called them up, got someone after <1min wait, refund was promptly taken care of within 5 minutes.
Customer service associates as RUDE! The whole process of purchasing a deal is too complicated. Will never recommend and am planning on deleting my account with them. Groupon, Wagjag, and DealFind are waaaaaay better than LivingSocial.
I have purchased 5 times now coupons for events. This week I learned I was burned by one of the companies going out of business right before my appt to use my coupon. I can't seem to reach anybody at the livingsocial network about it so I say it's a bad on them for not being accessible or doing a good job screening the associated sites.
I had read the bad reviews however, I found a couple of deals that I felt were too good to pass up. Well, when I purchased a deal for 20 yoga sessions for $20 I received a confirmation email. However, when I go to "my deals" the voucher is not available.
Since the site states that over 900 people bought this voucher, it seems very possible that the local company cannot support this type of customer base. I should have listened to the bad reviews and stuck with Groupon.
On Facebook I began using Living Social's Visual Bookshelf application. I entered over 200 books.
The Visual Bookshelf claims that you can export your book lists but when you attempt to do so it takes you to the Living Social website and forces you to sign up at Living Social.
Once signed up and completely contrary to what we are told on Visual Bookshelf you are not able to export your Visual Bookshelf list. This is patently false advertising.
If you got to the Visual Bookshelf site on Facebook you will find an abundance of similar complaints.
This is really foolish on the part of Living Social since the concept of the Visual Bookshelf is a good idea and providing the capacity to export Book Shelf lists should be relatively easy for them to provide.
Thank you
Bought coupon in Nov 2010 and had very bad experience with coupon vendor. Not LS problem it happens. But the hallmark of a good company is how they handle problems. It's been six months, and I just got the $65 refund promised 6 months ago. You see, they sent a check after 4 months and then closed the account so the check BOUNCED. I have spent 2 months and 6 calls (its the principle of the matter) to try and get a cashable refund check. I have politely and aggressively asked to speak with supervisors to handle it and been brushed off. Until today, I finally received the $65 refund but NOT the $12 bank fee for the original bounced check. My experience, Groupon is much better. Signed Keith D
Too bad you can't give a site zero stars! Heed my warning- stay away from LivingSocial!
Here's the email I sent LivingSocial which explains my frustration:
I should have known there would endless fine print and strings attached to the deals you offer. I have made my first and absolute last purchase using LivingSocial.
I'm not sure how LivingSocial has survived without being labeled a scam. I purchased hotel reservations for $295 which included three nights stay in Orlando and two nights stay in Daytona Beach. After confirming my reservations, an additional $15 per night "reservation fee" was attached to my package. A $59/night bargain suddenly became $74/night. I keep asking myself why I didn't cancel the entire deal as soon as they additional fee was mentioned.
I was asked if I wanted to receive discount tickets to area Orlando attractions if I would participate in a 90 minute sales pitch. I have no interest in a 90 minute waste of time, so I refused. Apparently it doesn't matter whether or not you refuse; fine print on the reservation confirmation states the 90 minute presentation is mandatory.
My trip is scheduled June 21-26. If I could, I would cancel immediately and save myself the grief. The only problem is I know somewhere in the fine print there surely must be a cancellation fee.
Your so called "deals" sucked me in once, shame on you. Rest assured I will not be fooled a second time.
I bought the Fringe Salon package for $65. The owner, Chelsey was the one who cut and colored my hair. She 3/4's dyed my hair and very minimally cut it. She styled it very well, hid all perfections although I'm sure she had to see an inch of roots not dyed, stray hairs that missed being dyed and knew she did not cut off the split ends or cut the sides to match as requested. I was not pleased w/ either service once I started styling it at home. I contacted Living Social and their refund was $15 of their bucks. So I'm out $50 plus tip and still need to have my hair redone. Groupon is far superior and refunded my CC when a certain dentist did not perform as per his advertisement. Now that I know Living Social does not care if one is satisfied or not, I won't purchase anything that I will not redeem in 60 days so at least I have my CC to fall back on.
Teeth Whitening LaserWhite Denver CO. Rude and Rip off! Don't go! First the place is impossible to find located in an office building with no sign and no sign in the lobby and no sign on the 7th floor where they occupy 1 room of an executive office suite. When I called to ask instructions on how to find them first the woman was rude and then hung up on me. The treatment was basically useless and certainly no better than the do it yourself kits on the internet. Plus you had to sit for 30 minutes with a contraption in your mouth that hurts. I bought the Living Social deal and that was a total rip off. Save your money and do it yourself with an internet kit.
I was very impressed with Living Social's customer service. After I got screwed on a delivery of flowers for Mother's Day they were very responsive and handled my complaint about the offer company to my upmost satisfaction. It is great to know that they will respond to issues about the other company that has the offer and even though Living Social had nothing to do with the problem they will help rectify it.
Answer: I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone. A total nightmare. They take your money don't send the goods and they don't answer e mails
Answer: There do seem to have been some financial problems with many of the deals from Living Social. But when I had a problem they answered the phone and it was dealt with quickly and the goods resent.
Answer: Have you contacted the customer service at Livingsocial.com? I have found them to be pretty responsive in the past. This is a seperate review site.
LivingSocial is a leading "daily deal" site that sells discounted experiences and local services--restaurants, spa trips, home services, travel, etc.--via voucher. The consumer must pay for the voucher upfront, and the voucher generally must be used within a specified time period or it cannot be redeemed. To make these deals possible, LivingSocial sells merchants on its ability to help "find and keep more customers". LivingSocial is a private company based in Washington DC and its shareholders include Amazon.com.
