“I love LETGO”

I have join Letgo over a couple of years ago. My sales has well superseded the FREE and simple cost to post. My upgrades to bump listings is well worth value. I can't say enough good.

“Fake accounts galore!”

Maybe this site can be used to sell. However buying somthing is kinda a joke. Message sellers who's stuff wasn't posted 4 years ago yet still on there and no responses. I've bought and sold from marketplace to reddit and in between. This is the worst. 32 messages to buyers and not 1 single response. These were not the prefab messages but personalized messages expressing intrest. That said this site needs to clean up the junk posts. Law of probability. This site is just terrible!

I am just reading the reviews trying to find out if it's worth sticking with this site, and I see that, much like other sites that offer reviews, most people won't bother doing a review if they love something, but if they had a one-time bad experience that could happen no matter where or what you're using, they will jump at the chance to gripe up a storm about it to anyone who will listen. I am going to say, with what I've done and seen so far on the site, that it doesn't seem all that different from similar-type sites (i. E. Craigs List): if you like shopping that way, stick with them and buyer beware; if you hate it, then go to WalMart, the mall, or whatever :)

Letgo is very user friendly, ads are clear and attention getting. The one flaw in the design is its too easy to tell someone youre interested in an item, just by scrolling through the feed. Ive gotten messages from people who accidentally did this and Ive done it myself. There needs to be an extra verification in the process or something. Overall, the app is well thought out!

People who complain about other people on the app them take it out on letgo and rate them poorly needs to stop. Letgo is a "fair" app. It does need lots of improving. The main thing that needs it would be the raiting system. Then another thing needs to be with more groups to post an item. You need to be able to pick the distance you are willing to view or sell the items. I like the app a lot but it's kinda boring. Please improve, I would hate to see this app fail...

The app is good, its the people trying to make a living selling junk that turns me off. I mean come on! $60 for worn out Nikes/Under Armour! They think just because they're name brand that they're worth that much... not! I've gotten better deals at yard sales for crying out loud! A lady was selling blue jeans with worn out spots on the rear, stained and wrinkled; she wanted $10 a pair! Had a guy on there trying to sell 4 bald tires for $100. I thought Letgo was a place to go for REASONABLE prices, guess I was wrong.

I don't believe the people that designed this deserves the 1 star ratings because of some irresponsible irritating loser that uses the app. These people are just everywhere, not the fault of the designer. Would you give a restaurant a 1 star rating because of a table of loud guests? Or a store with that is dealing with particularly demanding guests that is causing a long lineup?

That said, I like the way the app presents the items for sale. It even automatically locates the sellers approximate location on Google map for you. Provides easy to use messenger with usual "is it available?" type of messages on "quick dial". Design wise this app is unmatched for now.

Wonderful concept, unfortunately people are a-holes that like to waste time, cause drama and are cheap as heck. Will continue to use it until ebay becomes seller friendly again.

I had used it several times before with good results. I had sold what I was selling locally. Just need to be careful with people trying to scam you, and be patient with the rude people with no manners that want things for pennies and don't know how to negotiate in a courteous manner. Some people will leave you hanging, others will work out great. Ask lots of questions, be safe and be cautious.

I've been using Letgo to sell and buy for months. I'm only left to assume that my location has something to do with why most of my experiences have been positive. Of course this brings out the crazies, the junkies, and the creeps. So does Craigslist eBay and other like minded platforms. Use common sense. If someone asks you if it's still available, that doesn't mean this persons about to buy your item. It means they're scrolling through postings and asked about it. That's it. I get 200+ inquiry only messages a week. I also sell items frequently. I've been jerked around too, but for the most part, using my common sense and being polite, I've sold over $800 worth of stuff I didn't want/need anymore. But, that being said, I live in a college town that is notorious for its low crime rate. All in all, don't expect too much from this, use common sense, and read user reviews.

Letgo should Explain What it means and what to do when someone favors your listings. Other than that it is easy to use and I have been successful in posting and selling some items. As for security in the end you have to meet we a potential buyer.

I certainly read the reviews, it's like any other app or newspaer add. I am hoping we can sell our dining room set that we have only used a handful of times. I also realize that there are also other people selling dining room sets. It's a chance you take. It works just fine. Not great but I have no suggestions to make it better however, DEFINITELY not deserving of a 2 or below rating. Good luck to all hope you find or get the deal you want. AB

I just started selling on Letgo about a week ago and I have sold 3 items. Which is great but then I get a young woman who asked about an item minutes after I had posted it asking if it was still available, I told her yes and she asked for my address and asked if 5:00 was ok to pick up the item... I told her it was. 5:00 came and went so I messaged her and asked of she still wanted the item and she never answered... I tied 2 more times and there was no more communication from her... disappointing to say the least but I'm hoping this doesn't happen a lot.

I have recently sold many items on Letgo and have had only good experiences. I've purchased several things as well with only the best outcomes! I couldn't be more happy with my experiences thru Letgo! I've met decent people who were interested in doing business, who were on time to the meeting location, and didn't hassle me at all.

Love the app but buyers want your product, you say ok but don't hear from them OR you hold it for them, on their request and never hear from them.

I posted all the furniture in my coop. I sold 90% of the furniture, which helped a great deal. I don't have to pay a moving company, nor people to help me discard of the unwanted furniture. It was a pleasure dealing with those who were strongly interested in buying. There were those who just wanted it for a absurd amount, and those who just were inconsidered, and selfish. They were unacceptable to your terms. I otherwise was very satisfied, I just so happen to get some great buyers who just were so honest and understanding to all the terms and regulations when selling a product. I was not happy when people wanted to come see the item to review it status, before they made a offer. That I was not happy with at all. I blocked a few people, because of this. I would rather lose a sale, which in fact wouldn't have been a large amount! Then jeopardize the safety of myself and family. For those of you selling on Letgo. You are no way in fact obligated to those who seek to see item first. Protect your safety first, most likely those who want your address, are not interested in the product after all. They want it all free!'

Mixed reviews about the app thus far. A LOT of people like to waste your time and ask a bunch of silly questions about your item and you never hear from them again. I did have a good experience buying from someone who was serious about selling and not just wasting peoples time. The app is very user friendly and easy to navigate

First, let's get something out of the way. I'm a skeptic's skeptic. If an individual/ business/ org/ site/ process/ program/ app is full of $#*!, they'll never pass my sniff test. When I read some of the reviews below was not surprised. No matter if it's Amazon, eBay, Craigslist, Letgo or any other site, many millions of American consumers lack common sense and good judgement. Consequently, they end as victims and unwilling participants in all sorts of online shenanigans. Chances are better than excellent that if they got screwed on Letgo it was at least partly their own fault.

Now about Letgo.

The Good:
I've now listed several dozen items on Letgo from our garage and attic. We even listed items during our recent tag sale. The app is fairly simple to use. Posting is relatively quick and easy. It's also fairly simple to communicate via messaging in the app. The rating system is basic and a nice idea, but many people have not or have never better rates so it isn't all that useful just yet.

We have sold at least a dozen items now faster than Craigslist (same item listed both places, same time) and faster than at tag sales. Not too shabby.

The idiots who complain about lack of cell information aren't the brightest bulbs. Who the hell gives out their phone number unnecessarily? Use common sense.

The Bad:
Developers apparently thought users would be so incredibly lazy as to need quick reply buttons with preset phrases and no 2-step process of select and send. They placed these red buttons directly above the keyboard where users can easily accidentally press them. As a result, you'll occasionally send "quick" messages to users which you did not intend to send. And you'll send a couple more messages apologizing for the error... thus rendering these buttons an inconvenient pain in the $#*!. For large fingered individuals such as myself, this happens often even when taking great care. Those buttons need to go.

Next, categories. Letgo lacks a decent set of categories. Too fee and too specific. Consequently, you are forced to put your automotive tools into a stupid unrelated category such as Home & Garden. Was it really that difficult for the developers to visit Craigslist just to see and then recreate its basic but effective list of categories? It isn't a patentable feature. There is no excuse.

Next, changing ad titles. Apparently someone somewhere in Letgo Land has been authorized to fck with your ad titles. That's right... shortly after you submit your ad, some schmuck somewhere at Letgo decides what *s/he* wants to call your ad... and they edit your ad title without your permission. Often making it too generic to be useful. Fortunately you have the ability to change the title back to whatever you had previously. It's annoying, Letgo Overlords. Cut the bullsht.

Next, bullsht buyers. Unfortunately, you'll encounter asshles everywhere you go. They exist on Letgo too. We've encountered idiots who attempt to bully people into selling. That's right... they actually think they can pressure you into taking their shtty lowball offers. They'll also ask questions that had been clearly answered in the ad... because these lazy $#*! morons never read the ads before contacting sellers. Then there are the always-pleasant buyers who ask a thousand questions, expect immediate answers and never follow through. To be fair this is a problem with Craigslist buyers too.

The Ugly:
It appears Letgo *may* be using fake accounts to generate a false impression of interest in an effort to get people to sell/stay on their app.

It's a tactic straight out of the online dating industry. Fake accounts that interact with users in an attempt to eventually upsell them from free to paid services.

When you wonder why, over the next several months, hundreds of Letgo "users" favorite your items without once inquiring about them, or attempting to make an offer... you'll understand why I believe this might be true. I could be wrong. There could be hundreds of people who simply favorite items that they might like and never follow through with inquiring about them for any number of reasons. Time will tell, but if at some point it is revealed that Letgo used fake accounts to generate interest... you read it here first!

Lastly, the user interface is poorly organized for browsing. Letgo should implement better filtering. Until then you'll be forced to scroll through hundreds of shtty ads for utterly useless stuff in an attempt to find what you want.

So, folks, that is my initial take. Some good, some not. With a little patience, a little caution and some common sense, Letgo isn't bad. It's another app to add to your list of apps where you can quickly buy and sell crap as needed.

I like using letgo but a while back they changed something to enable quick interest by tapping the thumbnail of an item in a certain way. This is very frustrating as a buyer or seller as fat thumbs can cause interest to show when you are just trying to select an item to view and learn more about it. The first few times I did this as a buyer I was annoyed, but it's worse from a sellers perspective as you receive messages of interest with now follow up as the interest wasn't genuine. Please consider removing that "feature"

I have been pretty successful but primarily when I am selling things ready for the dump. I've noticed that is really what people are selling... lots of weird worthless crap.
I've sold lots of furniture at very reasonable prices because I know I don't want to work hard to get a booth and sell it myself at a flea market. If you analyze your options often the best is giving away free or reduce price. Then I get real interest and items are out of my life. It's possible that less success might mean you are unrealistic about how you are pricing things.

Good bye ebay you suck. Good bye Amazon your fees are to high. Bonanza your a joke with a cheap owner who won't advertise your site. This site is a craigslust with a chat system. I noticed the buyers are cheap skates but a cool app.
