I had cataract surgery some years ago in both eyes and ended up having to wear reading glasses for close work. I had an old pair of glasses that were really nice frames compared to the drugstore reading glasses and wondered if I could get someone to swap out my old lenses and replace with reading glasses strength lenses. I found Lensabl in my Google search and I was completely impressed with the whole operation and final product - my nice old frames that are now my stylish new reading glasses!
The service was quick, simple, and effective. However they did not take note of my specific request to tighten my glasses which is why they are not a 5 star service.
After more than two weeks, my glasses finally arrived, but the timeline alone is not what frustrates me. The biggest frustration was Lensabl's complete lack of communication or status updates. From the day my glasses arrived at their facility to the day they shipped, it said "expected to ship in 5 business days." I emailed to request an update on October 27. On Oct. 28, Lensabl replied that my glasses were expected to ship in 3-5 business days. They shipped on Nov. 6, seven business days later. This is a case of setting high expectations and under-delivering. I suggest that instead Lensabl under-promise and over-deliver. All that said, my glasses themselves are great. The lenses are beautiful, clear, and sharp. And they send them back in a beautiful, collapsible case that is much handier than a regular case.
I had frames that my optician no longer offered that I really like. I got a new pair that are OK so I wouldn't be without glasses and sent my frames and prescription to Lensabl. The process takes a little while but not too long if you have something to wear in the meantime. I received my glasses back with my new lenses and they are progressives and everything is as it should be with them. I'm am completely satisfied with what I received from Lensabl.
The progressives in my glasses are not good. I got a pair with the same problem before I purchased these. To correct this, I upgraded to what was supposed to be a larger progressive base, but it is the same as the first pair I ordered. Other than this, everything was great. But the bad progressives are not worth me buying any more product from Lensable. If you can improve the progressive feature, I would come back.

I've wanted to replace lenses in a pair of favorite glasses for a long time, but Costco (where I go for appts, lenses, etc.) will not put new lenses in old frames. Very pleased with service from Lensable and the eyeglasses look and feel terrific.
The ordering was smooth, and after 2 weeks I sent an email inquiring, then I got back they needed another measurement.
I sent the measurement, didn't hear anything for 4 weeks, then got informed they couldn't find my frames, got a note they found them and they didn't expedite my order, and it was another 2 weeks.
If you don't care how long it takes, I have no issue so far with the lenses, but I won't be utilizing this company nor recommending them.
I'm happy to report that my experience with Lensabl has been really positive. Not only am I very pleased with the new, high quality lenses that Lensabl created for my frames; what is more, I'm seriously impressed with the company's commitment to quality control. When I hadn't received my glasses after a couple of weeks, I emailed Lensabl to see if there was a problem. It turned out that Lensabl's inspectors caught a defect in the lenses that had been fabricated initially, and sent them back for correction. When my glasses did arrive, they worked perfectly, and so I'm doubly grateful that Lensabl took the time and trouble to inspect their product before sending it to me--saving me the step of having to ask for a correction myself. Thank you, and I will be spreading the word to friends and family about your top-notch service.
I was happy with my last lens replacement, about 1 year ago. Your service has improved in small ways since then. It's obvious that you're working at fine tuning your product and I will surely use Lensabl again.

Ordering: easy to set up with small hurdles, pick up box came quickly super easy. I entered in my prescription and uploaded a picture of it along with PD value. Was notified later that the prescription for the order was incomplete. It turned out that the webpage was not recognizing the PD value so I emailed support and received a very quick response saying the issue was taken care of. Glasses were complete and mailed out soon after.
Now the bad news: I suspect in an effort to refit the lenses the technician bent the metal hinges outward or the plastic frames themselves (didn't know that was possible). When I put the glasses on they no longer had any tension to keep them on my face. So yes, I spent >$70 to get a pair of glasses I can't use. I theorize this may not be an issue with metal frames that can be bent back but the lack of attention to detail to me suggests this is still somewhat an amateur operation rather than a full-fledged professional one. Consider that at the price I paid I paid 50% the price of a brand new pair of Warby Parkers (I don't have vision insurance).
Take away: don't use this service for plastic frames. If you have any doubts just go Warby Parker and get a brand new pair.

Answer: I purchased some really awesome vintage glasses with octagonal black plastic frames made in France, probably from the late 1960s or early 1970s. I was so excited to have them made into sunglasses. I took them to my local optical shop and was told, "I hope you didn't spend much on these because you wasted your money. No one will touch frames this old, because the plastic is so brittle it will just shatter." I was so disappointed. I tossed them in a drawer and forgot about them for a few months. Then I saw an ad for Lensabl online. I contacted them and asked if they could work with vintage frames, and the answer was "No problem!" I was nervous to send the frames in but figured I didn't have anything to lose. I just received the glasses back in the mail today (two weeks from when I mailed them in), and they are incredible! The frames were cleaned and straightened, and the new lenses are perfect. I love them so much. Thanks, Lensabl!
Answer: They clearly don't have the infrastructure set up to be in this business where each frame is a customer order. In cases like they they are not staffed with customer services that can be actually helpful which only result in wrongly made glasses. They broke my glasses and are not trying to it at all. I posted review on here before and then it just disappeared for some reason, I'm not sure if they are paying people to get rid of negative reviews.
