I had purchased $1,300.00 worth or shirts and shoes. When I received my order, I found the same shoes $20.00 a pair cheaper at Macy's. I called JAB t see if they would refund the difference. They said they don't do that, the only thing they could do is provide me with a $25.00 coupon for a future order. JAB would rather have their customers return what they purchased and purchase the item from a competitor instead of honoring the price difference. This was my first time dealing with JAB, they make there deals sound great but when you return any items, be sure to return all of them cause if you purchased a shirt that was BOGO and you make the mistake to return one of them, you'll get $0.00 return which means you paid full price for the other item. Just a really bad experience all around, stink's cause thir chlothing seemed to be good quality.
I have been in many weddings (only as a groom so far) and this was by far the worse company I have interacted with. We thought with this being a more expensive place that it would equate to good service and product. We were so wrong that it has been a joke among the group. I paid more than double the price than I have at competitors and the service was horrendous. I don't want to write a large essay so I will stick with bullet points,
-Appointment at 12:00pm, wasn't acknowledged until 12:20pm, wasn't helped until 12:40pm.
-Was rushed the entire experience, did not feel comfortable enough to slow down the worker.
-Was not treated with respect or manners as I was used to at competitors.
-The tailor stated, "I know kids like you like the pants tapered at the bottom." which was peculiar seeing how I'm almost 30, and very hairy.
-Salesman did not state the shoes were optional even though the groomsman wanted it to be expressed that they were. I found out within an hour of purchase and called them to cancel them from shipping it and they refused, even though their website states they don't ship until 3 days after purchase.
-Total amount came out to be $606.15, which is when I realized, if I am paying that much, why are they acting like they don't even want me in here?
I want to give more than one star, because maybe it was an off day, but, to be honest, I don't want to go back to find out.
Their customer service is really bad. My first (and last) time ordering from them and the order never showed up. Of course FedEx is their carrier. I contacted Jos.A. Bank and first they refunded part of my order rather than send a replacement as they said they would. I contacted them again and reordered and the 2nd order is now being held up with FedEx and the remainder of my first order never reshipped. The worst part of it all was the apathetic attitude I received from Jos A Bank's customer service when I contacted them about the status of my order. Unbelievable.
Years ago, I used to buy most of my suits and sport coats from JAB. Very good quality, and prices were in alignment with other then current mens' stores.
In the last couple years, I have bought a suit ($79), shirts, and ties, with no real problems. If you limit yourself to ONLY buying their very cheap clearance items, good deals can be gotten. However, quality has really gone downhill.
A month ago, I ordered two clearance items, a wool driving cap, and a scarf. A total of $10 for both items. Shipping is free for "Bank" members. Cap, although ordered as XL, ticketed as XL, was a S. Couldn't get it on my head, and came smashed. Gave the cap to my 10 year old nephew, return postage was more than cost. Scarf was synthetic junk, ticketed at $49.95.
I'd never order anything from JAB that wasn't ridiculously cheap, like $69.95 suits, $49 sport coats, and the like. To order $1K suits is insanity.
I love going to Jos A Bank. The salesperson who waited on me every time is Drew. He knows his stock and does a great job fitting suits and matching clothes.
We ordered my suit 1-1/2 weeks before my Dad's funeral, got fitted, assured it would be ready for visitation. We picked up the suit- did not fit at all, way too small despite being measured. We returned the suit and were told they fitted me for a Fitted Suit and I needed a Traditional Suit6. Store manager assured us the correct suit would be in within 2weeks. We called 3x, went to Store 6 weeks later (as no one called that the suit was ordered)-- no suit. Store manager assured us that the correctly tailored Traditional suit would be FedEx'd to us within in 2 weeks. 2-1/2 months later, the suit appeared on our doorstep--- same original suit, still doesn't fit. Very poor service.
2 workers only. Do not even acknowledge you walk into the store. No greeting, no nothing. Unpleasant experience. Took 1 hour to just get fitted for a rental.
Two pairs of the 1905 Jean's I've purchased have split and frayed by the pockets and seams. These Jean's haven't lasted a year! Don't waste your money...
I have ordered a blazer, a suit coat and five pairs of shoes on their website. The only thing I received was numerous emails saying the items were no longer available. To make matters worse I called to check on two of the items spent an hour on the phone was told the two items were released to ship and then I get the emails they are not available. KEEP IN MIND WHEN PURCHASING.
I've not shopped JAB before so my stock in my experience really holds no expert review. The salesperson that I dealt with in selling me two suits was pretty good. He seemed to be interested in my best interests so I took a chance and bought two suits (of which one was "free"). I felt a little pressure when in the end he had laid out for me shirts, ties, socks, etc. All of which I never asked for and I made it clear that I was in this just for the suits. So... when you go in be ready for the "extra" sales pitch for more than you want or need. Pick up on the suits were timely. However, when I picked them up, all sales people disappeared. I've purchased suits from different tailors in the past but only this once was I left on my own to accept the final product. I had to go to the mirror, check out the fit, make any site seen evaluations, and not a word from them on the appearance. That shocked me! Typically, a sales person will dote over you when you've spent nearly $1000. 00 to make sure you are satisfied and all alterations came back the right way. Time will tell how the quality of the material holds out. In the mean time, I will not be back to JAB to purchase any clothing in the future. Hope this helps others to see how important you are to their clientele.
THIS IS A PIECE OF $#*! COMPANY STAY AWAY FROM THEM I BOUGHT ONLINE A SUIT AND I ASKED FOR EXCHANGING NOT MONEY BACK THEY SEND ME MONEY BACK! NOT RECOMMEND IT!
I've washed my "Traveler's Collection" shirts many times and even I'm amazed that they keep their color, are ready to wear right after you let them air dry. Absolutely a great shirt...!
I bought a few items from the RYE NY location on Purchase St. I left the store and when I got home I realized that the shirts were the wrong size. I called the store a few minutes before they closed and told them that I can be there in a couple of minutes for exchange. I mentioned that I had a very important meeting in the morning and was traveling and could not get there at 10am the next morning due to my schedule. The salesperson said he could not help me because they were closing in a couple of minutes. I asked to speak to the Manager. When Luis the manager came to the phone he also said he could not help and to return the following day. I told him that I will come back the next day only to return the items I purchased due to their lack of empathy towards a customers needs. His reply was repulsive. He said" ya see now sir... THAT'S A THREAT! You ARE THREATENING ME." I can not believe his response to me. Rye seems to be a very nice neighborhood... These two guys working in there are not the type of people I would expect to work at your store. Rude after the sale PERIOD. And visible tattoos on the hands are unwelcoming. What are your on boarding procedures at Jos. A Bank? Oh wait... You have none. I will never do business at any location. The customer is the most valuable asset and you failed miserably to help my situation that could have been very easily taken care of with a more sophisticated salesperson.
Horrible do not go there. I am in Savannah Ga.
Charged extra 30.00 for big and tall(maybe in Japan I would be).
Had to call 5 times to see if my suit was ready.
I will NEVER EVER SHOP THERE AGAIN.
Lacy at the university drive location in Ft. Worth is amazing! She knows your name and greets you when you enter the store.
I had been a loyal customer of Jos A Bank Clothing, having spent thousands of dollars; but after a recent experience, NEVER AGAIN. Supposedly due to (an incompetent) update of their website, while I was shopping they lost the contents of my shopping cart totaling 30+ items and more than $1500. Worse, they managed to delete my wishlist, which prevented me from recreating the cart. The wishlist was compiled over months of perusing the website. But wait! They also lost my purchase/order history. And deleted my saved credit card info (now, where did THAT go, I wonder?). For those of you who aren't familiar with Jos Bank, their sales change almost daily. I had been waiting for the perfect storm of clearance plus an extra 50% off, with my other items on special. BECAUSE *THEY* DELETED MY CART, I missed the sale. Completely. I got a grudging "we're sorry... but items in your cart must be purchased at the time of the sale to receive the discounts". Well... DUH... but THEY deleted my cart (oh, and don't forget, my wishlist went *poof!* as well), within an hour of the end of the sale, preventing me from making the purchase. I emailed twice. I never heard back. I had two fruitless live chats with customer service (?) reps. To be *fair*, I was offered a $25 discount... on $1500. Oh, wait, it was probably more like $25 off $2500... since I missed the sale due to THEIR incompetent IT crew.
I didn't take them up on the offer.
***UPDATE: Five business days after my first email to JosBanks and still no reply. I can see they are highly concerned with customer service (and their reputation).
To start, let me say that I have shopped at Joseph A. Bank for more than 25 years. Generally speaking, I have been pleased with my purchases. I really haven't had any big mishaps... until now.
I received a $250 gift certificate as, just that, a gift. After a couple of months of sitting on it, I decided to check out some shirts on the site. Great deal on summer clearance shirts, even better if you buy three. I put in the order and paid with the gift card. No problem.
The next day the order gets canceled without any reason. I call and am on hold for 35 minutes without anyone picking up. I have to hang up due to other commitments. I go on the chat line later and inquire as to why it was canceled. Jordan says there was a "discrepancy with the information on my credit card." I asked why are they even looking at my credit card when I paid with a gift card. No help at all. Later, I tried the text line and spent another 30 minutes going back and forth without getting my order processed. I made another call and Nicole was also unable to assist but assured me that she would have someone call me to rectify it. That was two days ago.
I did receive an email asking me to resubmit the order. Boom... canceled again. Then they advised me to delete the credit card on file. I did that and placed the order again. Canceled without explanation.
I am done with Jos A Bank. I have advised the person who gave me the gift card to request their money back. I am trying to give them business and the ineptitude is startling. Makes me wonder what happens when you have a problem with your order once it actually gets placed.
Don't do business with this company. There is a reason why they recently filed bankruptcy and I believe I just figured it out.
Very good bank, been to a lot of banks in my life but this one is very proffesional abd great staff and helpful and people there are amazingg tanks!
$7 return fee plus only Fed Ex, No home pick up. Iten recieved in a bag and returns need to be in a box. Not at all convenient.
How appalling that some wanker of an employee spit on an elderly man. Lol... its gonna be a deal breaker for a LOT of people...
Answer: An agent answered after 4 minutes, but the experience was unsatisfactory.
Answer: Guess what. They saved a buck and squeued you. Banks loves your money, not you.
