I've Have shopped at White House Black Market in Indianapolis, Indiana at the fashion mall and have had nothing but BAD service each time! The store is never busy and nobody will come up and help me! They just stand up at the register and ring. I used to shop with the store all the time and love the clothing and the service used to be great about five years ago. Now it is so bad that I don't even go shopping there anymore. It's so sad because my whole closet used to be full of White House, Black Market clothing, and I loved each piece. Hopefully the store can get it back together and be back to good customer service.
I bought a blouse on line and it came defective. I can't exchange it. I have to either return it to a store, or pay to return. And then, I have to buy another one. They say they have a return/exchange policy, but they only have a return policy. Pay to return a defective item, wait a month for your refund, and charge your credit card again for a new one, and hope it's not defective. The store at my mall doesn't sell petites... I'll never buy from them again.
Clothing is great But trying to return anything to get your money back is a Disaster. Multiple calls with different stories each time. Never acknowledged I sent either return back. And started the return for each online. Still waiting on my money which after they said my card was credited 3 days ago. This has been going on about a month. Awful
The sales associates are helpful while buying. Some of the work tops are decent quality but I am very disappointed in the jeans. They started to wear thin in 6 months. When I spend so much money on jeans I hope they would last several years. I'll never buy their jeans again.
What a horrible company. If you have a return they charge you your shipping for it to get to you and then $7 to ship it back to them. So if something does not fit your out $16. The product itself was nice but just to big. However, I would never shop there again when charged these fees.
Whitehorse black market used to be good company to purchase but recently it looks like they are not making good sale so they raised price on all their items minimum $30.00 compare to few months ago, the quality of customer service for on line orders and quality of the merchandise are very low. Definitely do not recommend their items. They used to offer free shipping for 3 days for customer that do purchasing every day from them, now they removed the service. Their item quality especially on Tee-shirts are horrible. Do not recommend this company for purchase good quality
I spent well over $2,000 for a new wardrobe and a matter of two to three months. At the time they were offering 5% off each order once you hit a certain status. Recently they changed their rewards program. I am at what they call legend status. The problem is that they have no points history for me therefore I have no rewards available to me. I've tried several times to email their customer service and I get the most ignorant emails back from them. Recently all emails check at least 5 days to get a response! One says it should be there, the next email says I see someone else has already helped you with this. I can't imagine how a business like this can survive. I read recently that they were going to be closing at least 40 stores this year and it's no surprise to me. Though the quality of the merchandise is reasonably good, the quality of service they provide the customer after the sale is atrocious.
It has been going on 3 weeks since I returned a dress. They received it 2 weeks ago. No refund yet. This is a big company what's the holdup? I will NEVER order online again from them. Terrible customer service! I would rate my experience with no stars if I could.
I bought a suit at WHBM for me to wear to work that fell apart after only wearing it twice & their return policy is so terrible that they won't accept a return even though their product is defective. A professional suit should last more than wearing it for two workdays in the office. Complete waste of money.
My online order was cancelled without notifying me because the amount ($1,000) was too high for someone who does not shop in that store onlin! So it could be my first online shopping but it was my last one for sure!
Return policy/process is a nightmare. Received email from WHBM confirming return was in transit on 8/24. Almost a month later and all any of the reps can tell me is that it's STILL IN TRANSIT and I must wait even longer. Their policy states that the process takes 7-14 days from the day you ship your return but all the reps keep saying to wait 4 weeks! Ridiculous! I will never shop there again after this.
I have been a WHBM loyal shopper for years and now I see they got rid of Afterpay. Being a grad student in a rigorous nurse practitioner program, I can't afford to purchase without it. They only offer PayPal, which I do not trust. I phoned customer service and they really don't have any knowledge of anything, most likely because they are in another country. Bye WH!
I bought a Tee on sale but the size was too big. I sent it back, asking to exchange for a smaller size. On the return paperwork, in addition to checking all the right boxes, I wrote PLEASE EXCHANGE and circled it. They refunded the sale price, saying that they didn't have any in stock. Problem is, that when I checked their website, it WAS in stock. So I sent them an e-mail asking them to honor the sale price and send me the smaller size. They waited until the Tee was out of stock and then apologized for the "delay" and said it was out of stock.
UPDATE: I upgraded my review to 4 stars after I received a call from WHBM 3 weeks later apologizing and giving me a credit equal to the savings I had on the sale price of the tee. The rep said they were working through their complaints file.
I went the Arlington highlands store in Arlington tx. I walked in store and as browsing around for maybe 2 mins. No one offered to help or acknowledged me. A group of nonblacks (white) people walked in store someone met them at the entrance May I help you. The person wasnt even there to shop. I walked around pulled items to look at no response. No sales person approached me. Ever. I put the items back. Other nonblack people where in store the sales people was helping them. Can I put this in dressing room. Me still invisible. No acknowledgment. I use to shop her often shop a lot online came in to see an item seen on line. Shame on you whbm if you have experienced this please review so we may make them aware of this pattern
UPDATE: The company eventually credited me to the higher tier and sent some coupons ($5, $15 off, Bday coupon) to honor the tier. If you sign up for the rewards account, just make sure you keep track of your purchases to make sure you are being credited. Also it seems that if you use the coupons, depending on the amount of the coupon, your points go down, so your tier may change. I don't want to specify too much because I'm not accurate on the breakdown of points and coupons.
The company has nice clothes (there are other and better deals elsewhere online, though), but the way they set up the rewards system is a disservice to some of the customers. I am a customer that has spent at least $2,000.00 at the store and had an issue of getting credited the proper rewards (until the company eventually fixed the issue). They send the standard mail coupons like $25 off of $125 every now and then, but for customers that spent hundreds or thousands of dollars, you're supposed to have access to certain things like free shipping on all orders, free returns, various rewards. I'm not sure if there was an issue with my account previously because there may have been a change with the settings or terms on the site earlier in the year? Hopefully customers who sign up now won't have the same confusion as before.
I attached a partial listing of my orders I've made. However after the update, I'll just keep it here instead of deleting it to show some proof of purchase.
I bought a dress at WHBM for a wedding shower. I couldn't go to the shower because I got sick with COVID. Since I loved the dress so much I kept it for another occasion. A few months later I wore the dress for another occasion. I had the embarrassment of my life when the zipper of the dress broke and as such had to leave the event. I went back to the store to see if they could exchange the dress or get a credit since it was a defective product. I was told that they have 90 day return policy and there was nothing they could do so no only I was out of the money I paid for the dress but also no dress. Be very careful when you shop at WHBM. They don't stand behind their product like other stores do. I will never again buy anything there since I don't trust their products.
I went there to buy a camisole, and as I was shopping around I noticed how expensive things have gotten in the last year or so. I mentioned it to the girls there and they gasped, saying they have noticed it too and it's hard for them to shop. Shop. I had a birthday certificate, so I was looking for a camisole. On my size 8 to 10 and tried a medium. It was so tight I could barely get it over my head. The style I wanted they did not have it an extra large so we ordered one. It came and it was still too tight. I looked like a sausage. It went back the next day as it did not look, feel, or look like a decent piece of clothing. They also no longer carry skirts in store, and that's primarily what I wanted to buy. You could tell the jewelry is from China and it's not worth the high price tag. Even though I had a birthday certificate, it was not worth my time in trouble to even go over. I find much nicer things, better quality at Macy's or Dillard's or even Ann Taylor's with their sales and coupons.
I tried to post a review on another site, but White House Black Market kept coming back saying it did not meet their criteria because it was not favorable. So I had no choice to try site jabber. I guess they're afraid to lose business if somebody has something negative to say.
White House Black Market has chic and fashionalbe designs for the working woman. I get ALL of my work outfits from this website and could not be happier with their products. The quality is amazing and the prices are fair; they have great sales too.
Awful!
I have purchased a number of items online. I had an issue snd spent days trying to reach customer service!
The online chat is also useless. I still have not resolved my issue. I purchase two pairs of pants and both stretched out after one wearing. It is so frustrating because they just don't answer.
Not worth it!
Answer: It's easy enough to get hold of them but they're not always very helpful in my experience. Specially when making an online return by mail they don't seem to give you the confidence that you will get your money back!
