You can no longer read reviews, the quality of the clothing has gone down hill, no free returns, sizing is completely off
Third time in past six months with online ordering. When I call to correct their issues, get bad attitude. Rudeness and lack of accountability. Excuses for J Jill lack of professionalism and honesty. Consistently overcharge, will not honor their sales promotions., will not refund promptly, the lists of their incompetence is too long for this review.
JJill pants used to fit me like a glove. For years. Through weight losses and weight gains, I could always find great pants that would fit. New designer and/ or manufacturer has changed the quality and style of these clothes. The staff is disinterested. Maybe overworked. I am not going to shop there again.
Sizes in knit tops have become totally unreliable. This season Medium has become the new Large...JJill has been my source for these tops for years...every thing from shoulder-to-
Hip length, sleeves, neckline is now larger and looser The rounded hems
are long and clingy. So disappointing. I give up.
Used to live j Jill clothes are boring, boring colors, same year after year and don't listen to their customers. Shame a good company that has gone downhill. Hope they revamp and get better and more with times!
I've used this company for many years. The clothing is stylish and comfortable. Somtimes beautiful feminine details (like embroidery) help to lift an otherwise ordinary top into a different sphere. Colors tend to be soft and lovely. Customer care excellent. Highly recommend.
My best friend sent me a whole outfit from J. Jill and I looked like a homeless person with the whole set. So I returned it and requested a gift card and figured I could buy earrings and purses from the site in the future. Because their clothing is not my style at all. Instead they gave the refund to my friends credit card. I called them and after 2 days of researching they called and apologized because they admitted that it was their mistake. They promised to send me a gift card and they never did. So now I am out of a birthday present. I refuse to ask my friend about the refund so at this point I do not even trust she actually did get a refund.
I've been a Jjill shopper for about 30 years. I've always thought their clothes are stylish and well fitting, as well as well made. The staff at the stores I've shopped in are always very pleasant and helpful. Their sizing is pretty inconsistent, even when ordering by their measurement chart. My biggest complaint is with the credit card. I don't do any online banking. I pay my bill the day I receive it, always in full. The last two times, they claimed not to have received my payment in time, and charged me a past due fee of $30. When I called them, they offered a one time forgiveness of that fee. The second time this happened, I was told that my payment was not received, so I went into the store, paid it in person, and then had my son look up on his computer, and he found that the payment had been received twice. I still enjoy shopping there, but don't go there much because I don't always have the funds to buy without credit. I will no longer charge anything there.
I normally buy online from JJill. I recently had to return a purchase because of the wrong fit. I was not greeted with a smile. In fact, the person that did my return was rude as if she didn't want to take my return at all. I worked in retail. So, I know how things are done. Her rudeness cost JJill my business. Please teach your sales reps to do better with giving the best customer service.
I opened a card and bought $200 worth of clothing. I then received a $25 off coupon thanking me for opening the card. It has an expiration date and can't use the coupon. They will do nothing to adjust this for me! Poor public relations!
I have shopped here for 20 years. My secret for great looks and fit it go into the store and try on the item. That is the only way you will know if it fits and looks great on you. I walk through the store, sit in the outfit, bend over and check all the fabric details. I certainly can't tell any of this by looking at a picture. There is a reason why pictures are labeled "fashion porn".
If you go in and on the clothes you will have a great outfit that suits you to a "T:
I have to say I was very surprised by the reviews about not being greeted. The stores in St. Louis are overly friendly at times. I am often repeatedly greeted. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. I love the Wearever line. The pants never wear out. I like the Pure line as well. I really can't believe all the bad reviews.
I have loved Jjill for years. While the styles were awful during the Talbot years, they recovered and had very appealing styles and good fit. In the past 2-3 years they have completely gone back to big, frumpy and unstylish. I haven't bought anything there in more than an year and likely won't. I'm all for size-inclusive, but styles that work on plus sizes don't work on petites. Their whole store is frumpy, sloppy and gross. Even the XS petites are too big.
I have been a loyal J Jill customer for over 25 years. A couple of months ago, I was unable to pay my bill over the phone - which I is how I always pay it - because the message I received said my account had been closed by the bank. I immediately emailed customer service but was given the exact same phone number. I emailed again to let the company know I wasn't able to pay my bill using the phone number provided. I received an email response that a customer service representative would contact me. That never happened. I mailed in my payment with an explanation of what happened.
I recently received a new bill with late payment fees. Apparently no one read my note or my emails. It's a mystery to me to why the phone number I've always used to pay my bill still informs me my account was closed. So I'm done with J Jill. They had more than enough opportunities to rectify the problem but failed.
I was a customer in the Orange Ct. Store 9/27/*******@10:30 a.m. I am a frequent shopper to this location. I was very disappointed in the person behind the counter. Typically the staff would greet you with a hello, may I help you. This person kept her back to the shopping area, never acknowledged that a customer had entered the store. The beginning of September I had a very positive experience with the African American women behind the register, very personable and inviting, and the petite sales women with long hair on the floor was very helpful coordinating outfits. I am very disappointed in this experience.
Went to return an online item. #1 saleswoman told me she was involved with a sale, sent me to #2 saleswoman. #1 continued to talk with me (loudly) suggesting that I shop the sale while #2 worked on my return. #1 never shut up. She was waiting on 2 middle aged sisters and mom. While they paid, they continued shopping and trying on clothes. Very chaotic! #1 continued talking loudly, even when they wern't paying attention. Meanwhile #2 asked for my telephone number 4x's and put my card through 3x's. #1 had to come over and help. Should have stayed to help, but her customers were spending. My return took 15 minutes and I left right after. #2 finally addressed me and apologized when she heard my irritation. Couldn't wait to get out.

I have shopped many times at Dana park, Mesa az j Jill. I have never once had an employee ever even say hi or offer to help me. Today I waited in line to pay and there was only one customer ahead of me but the employee took forever talking to the customer. I almost put the item down and left. There was another employee there but she was more interested in straightening the racks. This is the normal way I am treated every time. I like there clothes so I keep torturing myself by going back. It would be nice if they even said thank you. It is always the same attitude in there store. Do you realize the customers pay your bills!
PLEASE change the clothes more often. If your inventory is going to hang around for months on end, this credit card
Doesn't make much sense. I don't use it because the clothes never change! Once you visit, why go back?
I have always loved JJill for years for their cool clothes that had a fresh fun style. Definitely a young but classy boho vibe. My three favorite blouses were silk- one pale green with Johnny Was style floral embroidery, one beautiful white on white Mexican tunic and a a textured cream tunic where the fabric was made of flowered cloth. They were expensive but so cool.
And now there is a generic looking very frumpy line. Even their timeless linen Sumer pants and camp shirts (a staple for me) are gone.
I have held onto 2 gift cards ( birthday) for two years and can't find one thing to invest in.
Please, JJill, turn it back around.
Worked for a good manager. The staff was very influenced by one of the Meanest Woman I ever met, certain employees do whatever they want! Rules are all over the board. I was told in the beginning by a seasoned staff member to offer "sale prices" to everyone. Do not lose a sale. When you have an immature " woman" who chose to continue to harass me no matter how much I tried to explain the " horrific situation". I am sure they won't post this, due to the Truth never wants to be exposed. It will affect the business eventually.
Answer: That is not a question, just a rant. This is Q&A only.
Answer: Well, Phillip, because women (and men?) keep wearing their clothes. You complain but you keep buying. What incentive do you give them to change?! Whose fault is it now?
