I just got a linen shirt, and it was the 2nd shirt that fell apart after wearing it once. Never again.
Back in the day, JJill was my go-to store. It had beautiful, unique clothing that you couldn't find anywhere else. I still have a black leather jacket and a gorgeous heavy black cotton cardigan with the most beautiful and unique embroidery from those days, hoping I'll be able to wear them again someday. Then JJill seemed to lose its way. The styles became drab and frumpy, two adjectives I see a lot in reviews. I ordered once several years ago and the quality control and sizing was so bad, I never ordered again. Then one day a few weeks ago, I saw the most beautiful clothes pop up on my Facebook feed. It was JJill's new coral line. I couldn't figure out what size to order from the catalog, so I made the three hour round trip to the nearest store. It was like the old days! I found so many styles in the store that I wanted to try on, and everything coordinated with everything else. I left with three beautiful outfits, but it's a good thing I went to the store, because I wound up with everything from a size small petite (their tops are VOLUMINOUS) to a 14 (pants that I wanted to wear to church without looking like leggings)! Fortunately, I had a salesperson who was able to think outside the box with sizing. I also love that the catalog seems to offer nearly everything in tall size. I can't give 5 stars, because the sizing needs to be more consistent, but I hope JJill is on the right track again. I haven't washed anything yet, though, and I'm a little nervous after reading some of the reviews. I'll update after a few washings.
Great clothes. They don't allow use of a gift card to be used like cash. Gift cards can't be used on promotions. Was forced to pay full price to use my gift card. Never again.
I recommend Jjill for the comfort and design of their clothes. I've had no problem with shipping, the fit or the prices. They represent their company well. Go shopping and enjoy.
What ever happened to the clothes once made of cotton, wool and silk? JJill was my fave. Now it's all clingy greasy feeling flowy blowy uglier than ugly, no style, washed out color. What happened?
I ordered online while the local store was shut down. I wanted to return items but didn't want to pay an additional $6.95 shipping as we have a local store. I called the store repeatedly to check for any information about reopening and got the same outdated recording that they would be closed until March 27th. This was in April. I called 'customer service' & was told I would have to sign up for emails to get store information.
Other businesses in Texas are anxious to get back to business and reopened last week (May) but JJill remains closed. I went by the store today & saw someone go in... however, the door was locked and a VERY rude woman opened it and told me they were NOT accepting returns. I had trouble understanding what she was saying because her mask was so heavy.
Poorly managed businesses are using the Covid situation as an excuse for their bad business practices. On the local level, we did not have a serious outbreak of virus. There is NO excuse under any conditions for the lack of consideration for customers. I can spend my money elsewhere and intend to. JJill has a bad attitude toward their own clientele. This is not about 'keeping our customers safe'... it's about bad management making excuses. There are plenty of places to purchase clothing and for less money. I will NOT be back. Judging from other reviews, perhaps its time for JJill to keep the doors locked and shut down.
Susan Pulchalski claimed manager of Dana Park Mesa AZ, J Jill Store would not allow me to shop and refused to ring up my items, she was threatening me regarding calling the police, when I was trying to educate her about the medical condition exception for mask wearing.
I can not wear a mask and have a medical exception (through Maricopa County mandate) due to being a severe asthmatic. Meaning I can't breathe in my own CO2 or I can literally die.
I was the only person in the store other than Susan and one other employee, both who were standing behind glass and more than 6 feet away from me. I was there for a good 15 minutes shopping before she even noticed I wasn't wearing a mask.
I offered to show my medical information and doctors notice, she refused to read it and said it was company policy not to allow people who do not wear masks to shop in the store no matter what the circumstances.
I was discriminated against for having a medical condition and refused service.
I was astonished!
I have been a J Jill customer since they started. Not anymore!
I will definitely be contacting an attorney regarding this discrimination.
So sad.
I love Jjill! Quality of fabric and design. Service is great and the personnel at the stores are awesomely kind and respectful. Again, I love Jjill.
Es durable, no se desgasta fácilmente. Siempre te ves bien. El personal es muy amable. Me encanta Jjill.
I bought a sweater a few wks ago and it is now my favorite sweater! Love the fit, the color, the neck, the texture! It will be my 'go to' sweater all winter!
BEWARE! JJILL ALLOWED SOMEONE THEY KNEW TO USE A STOLEN CREDIT CARD. THEY CLAIM SHE IS A GOOD CUSTOMER AND 81YEARS OLD AND WOULDNT DO THAT. THEY REFUSE TO EVEN REPORT THIS TO THE POLICE. PERHAPS AND INSIDE JOB OR A FAMILY MEMBER THEY ARE PROTECTING. STAY AWAY!
Why did your company remove customer reviews from each piece of clothing? I enjoyed reading them especially from people my age and body type.
I purchased a dress, full price and when it arrived it was crap and cheap fabric I wrote a review and it was rejected by JJill, so reviews on their site can not be trusted
JJill decided to eliminate product reviews comments. They were very important to the shopping experience. I no longer purchase because of this.
Received recent catalogue of J. Jill. Beautiful and unique clothing. This is the J. Jill I remember. Excited to wear my new items!
Their clothes are good quality and style.
I love the feel and the
Colors! They have a new repeat customer.
I've been a very long time customer of J Jill. In Dec. 19 I placed a credit card web order of $118.04. The bill due date was 2/2/20. I was also dealing with cancer treatment exhaustion and paid the bill in full by phone on 2/4 2 days late) On 2/9 I rec'd an email saying my credit card statement was now available. It showed a balance of $29.60 due 3/3/20. It said nothing about it being a late fee. I also received NOTHING in the mail. Today 3/11 I get another email saying I now owe $58.60. I called the J Jill customer service number who then transferred me to the "department that handles credit cards." I ask what the $58.60 is for - he tells me 2 late fees. One for $27.60 and the second for $29.00. A total of $58.60 for being 2 days late on the original bill is outrageous I told him to cancel the account. He says "if you agree to keep the account open I will waive the late fee. I agreed to that.
He then says, "I am waiving the 27.60 plus the $1.40 interest charge"' then says I will still owe the 2nd late fee on the original late fee - the now waived - late fee). That total now due, he says is $30.40. This Is ridiculous and I tell him again to cancel the card. He tersely replied, "So you agreed if I waived the late fee (which I assumed was both for $58.60) you'd keep the account open and now you're saying you won't." I confirmed that was correct. And he said he cancelled the card.
So for $30.40, J Jill you not only lost a long time, faithful customer, you've gotten another poor 1-star "stay away" review, damage to your company, reputation, and future business as Ill not recommend J Jill on social media or to friends.
Was it worth it?
J. Jill continues to tout that their clothes are made for Everybody, however they are NOT. The clothes have ridiculous sizing. For example, a petite size extra small top usually has a bust measurement of 40-45! Who ever Heard of that. The tops are so huge with cheapest material they can squeak by with, mostly A-line in shape and they add side slits to boot! Just because people are getting larger, a small should still be a SMALL. If you have a 34" bust, a sweater or shirt should be 36-37" WITH SHAPING AND DARTS FOR A NICE LINE. No, their small is sometimes 46" in the bust! A Normal sized person who has worked out and eaten right all their life has NO chance of finding even a T-shirt to fit. They are HUGE! I can fit 2-3 of me in it and I am not too thin, I am Normal sized. It is Very frustrating. The fabric is cheap mix of all kinds of materials to make it the cheapest for them. It fades, shrinks, and/or stretches out. There is NO facing around necks or arm holes or at the bottom of their tops. The pants Pull on so they don't have to use a real zipper (which costs more), yet they charge way too much for their clothes. I used to love J. Jill, but for the last 6 years or so, the tops keep getting larger for the same size. I wear a small tall. The sleeves are ALWAYS too short and the people who wear regular smalls buy up all the tall long sleeved tops for the extra length of the sleeves so they sell out of small talls quickly because others who are NOT tall, buy them for the sleeve length! It is ridiculous. Pants are now ankle length and come above the ankle so that in the winter your booties don't even come up to the bottom of the pants and there is a gap. The pants and jeans should be Normal length for at least winter time to be warm. There are NO MORE 34" length pants... They are so cheap they even try to save on material at the bottom of the pants, and instead keep adding it to the voluminous tops as they get bigger and bigger. I closed my account and feel cheated and lied to about how they cater to Everybody because they don't. Beautiful colors of spring and summer draw you in and then you get cheated. I just don't get it!
Carin helped me and she was amazing. She treated her customers with respect and she treated everyone nicely.
Answer: That is not a question, just a rant. This is Q&A only.
Answer: Well, Phillip, because women (and men?) keep wearing their clothes. You complain but you keep buying. What incentive do you give them to change?! Whose fault is it now?
