I bought an overpriced blouse at J Jill in Pentagon City Mall. Overpriced, because after washing it in the GENTLE cycle and laying it flat to dry only THREE times, I found a large hole in it today. RIDICULOUS! Their clothes are not well made but are very pricey. I used to enjoy shopping at J Jill but this is not a first time occurrence with finding holes in blouses from that store. Yes, my fault for continuing to shop there. I won't make that mistake again! The employees were very helpful there, but that does me no good now!
Ordered online embroidered blouse, payed 39.94 (incl. Shipping). Got it with a hole on the shoulder. Sent it back for refund, got 18.94 dollars refund (incl. Shipping). Very bad experience with online shopping((((
I've been a customer for over 10 years, and was told today by customer service their late fees have a range but couldn't tell me what the range was. I don't know when they started this policy, and not to be able to get a straight answer was maddening. It's unethical to not tell people what their fees are especially when they're trying to pay. I will never order from them again.
The quality of J. Jill merchandise is not what you'd call exceptional, and as noted by others the shipping is very slow compared to other sites/stores.
The bigger problem is that when you return an item they are now saying 3 to 4 four weeks to process the return. A Comenity Bank representative will tell you to call J. Jill customer service where you basically get nowhere. Other credit card companies will allow the customer to open an inquiry, will contact the merchant, and will credit your account. It should not take four weeks to process a return, and in the meanwhile you have a credit card balance that you are obliged to pay even though you don't owe them anything. I am cancelling my account, and using one of my other credit card if I ever buy something from J. Jill again.
I bought two of the same tops in different colors. Both were size small. One small was right and the other was too small. Jjill sizes are not consistent even if it's the same item and style. This has happened with dresses as well. This should not happen when paying high prices.
Hi Anne, at J. Jill we strive to design perfectly proportioned, versatile, always-in-style collections for women
Of all sizes. We offer Women's, Misses', Talls and Petites. We are sorry our recent collections haven't met expectations. We appreciate your feedback! -Bridgett
For years I've worn the J Jill shelf bra tanks. They used to have many colors and a couple of styles. For the past few years, they only have one style, and three colors. White, black, and navy. I finally broke down and ordered a black and a white one. They are not the same at all, they are significantly less supportive and are ill fitting.
All through the reviews on these tanks, customers are begging for more colors and styles. Still the company doesn't make any others.
I buy other items with the tanks to spend enough to get free shipping. Now, I'll never buy anything from them again.
I ordered a dress online for my niece's wedding. I am normally a large. I ordered a medium because I went by their sizing guide. I just got the dress. It's way too big. Even when I tie the belt tighter, there is all this extra material at the waist. And speaking of the material, it's cheap. It feels like a t-shirt which doesn't match the style of the dress. Hopefully, the other dress I ordered from a different store will work.
I have shopped at J Jill for years, the quality was always top shelf, now it has taken quite a nosedive! My last and final purchase from J Jill was a pair of their Leggins… Which I always loved, they are completely see-through! Just touching the fabric you can tell it's cheap. Such a Shane, I am 70 years old and always enjoyed my clothing from J. Jill… The love affair is over!
JJill tall women's clothes are better quality fabric and manufacture than most. The fit is pretty good except they sometimes do not add extra torso length, so you end up with an "empire" waist dress you weren't expecting. Their styles are all very casual like you plan to walk on a beach all day, with breaks for yoga and pottery class.
I used to LOVE J. Jill's linen collection and bought many pieces every year. The crop pants kept me cool (without wearing shorts!) and were appropriate for my job as a teacher. Additionally, there were always 100% cotton pieces -- in solid colors. Now the clothes are made out of a hot, clingy, synthetic knit in ridiculous patterns and colors.
I loved that JJill offered an option to the pricer Eileen Fisher line.
J. Jill has lost a very loyal customer: (
I buy a lot online. My hectic schedule does not afford me the luxury of many in store purchases. Not all purchases fit well or look as they do online. I returned several items at the Talbots in Arcadia, CA. I was questioned as to why I had so many items to return and why I waited to return them. The purchases were made at the end of January and were returned mid-March, well within the return policy guideline. I was further scolded and told not to return so many items or wait to do so. No problem. I will not be shopping at your store ever again.
Hello Van, we have sent you a private message with some additional questions regarding your review. -Bridgett
I've been shopping at J Jill for many years and have always been satisfied with the clothes and the service. They also have great sales, if you can wait for them. I've never had any problems with this store.
J Jill has a great assortment of sizes and fairly good sales although their discounts aren't what they used to be. My biggest complaint is their shipping. They dropped shop runner, which was terrible for their customers. Now you must pay for shipping, which is $10.00. It typically takes about 3 weeks to receive your order. The problem is that they use UPS SurePost. All goes well until the package arrives at the post office. It can take weeks for the post office to accept your package and sometimes they even refuse it. Please, J Jill, stop using this horrid shipping system!
J Jill used to be a great shop, cool styles, good quality - not anymore. The styles now seems dowdy, shapeless, and very pricey for the quality of the products. I shopped there for many years and liked the J Jill look, not now. I am not sure for whom they are marketing, but I have been disappointed for the last few years. There are better buys elsewhere.
I'm a HUGE JJill.com customer and fan! I shop mainly online due to my rural locale. In the past two months I've seen everything I saved literally scrubbed off the site and my saved cart-huh? Um, I would have bought those items!
You seem to have changed your Merchandizing Staff/Buyers/Online strategy? Please don't abandon your loyal customer base - Hey, we're older and have more money! I have a closet full of JJill, but in the past 3-4 months you've offered nothing that I want to buy! And the items I did want were erased! I'm sad, because you ARE my favorite clothing store.
The clothing "style" at JJill has been gradually changing; it is now frumpy, boxy, grandma and lacks stylish appeal. And to add to the lack of stylish appeal their shipping costs is outrageous and takes forever to receive; and then they also charge the customer again to return. Forget you JJill. There are a million other places to shop.
We are sorry to hear our recent styles have not caught your eye. We appreciate your feedback regarding our shipping process and fees, they have been forwarded to our management team for review. Hearing from our customers allows us to know what we are doing right and what we need to work on to better service you. Thanks again!
You get free shipping if you order $125. Or more, or if you visit the site, put something in you basket then don't buy it. They will send you an email that says if you spend $100. You will get free shipping, well, only if you don't have to use another promo code for the item you are buying. I wanted a coat that was $119., I had to enter a promo code to get 30% off. They wanted to charge me $8.95 for shipping. I chatted with customer service and she would not honor the free shipping either. Kind of sounds like bait and switch to me and I will think long and hard before ordering anything from them in the future.
I have just placed an order for several pairs of jeans. According to the online details if the order was more than $125.00 no shipping charges would be applied. However after applying my JJILL credit card discount, it put my total just under $125.00 but with taxes added I was over the needed amount. I was charged shipping because after speaking with customer service (joke) told me taxes could not be included in the total, and I either had to cancel the order, buy more, pay shipping, or not use my JJILL card. As delivery to the store was not an option or purchasing them at a store (online only), I had to choose whether to place or cancel the order. JJILL has lost my loyalty as I feel the process was deliberately ambiguous.
Several days before Christmas I spent over 15 minutes in your store at the Gallera in Edina. I was the only customer in the store the entire time. There were 4 clerks, two were near the front talking to each other about their personal lives the other two were near the desk. I chose some clothes to try on and did so. Not one clerk even said hello or acknowledged my presence. I finally confronted them about their ignoring me. I then left and went into a near by store that was filled with customers where I was greeted by 4 sales people within the first couple of minutes I was there. You can bet were I choose to spend my money.
Hello Vicki. We regret to hear that your recent shopping experience at our Galleria in Edina store was an unpleasant one. We sincerely apologize for not providing you with the level of service we strive for at J. Jill. Customer feedback is the best way for us to know how to improve future service and your concerns will be addressed with the store directly. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
I have been a huge fan of J Jill for years but it seems J Jill is beginning to struggle to keep up with competitors. Recently the customer reviews of clothing has disappeared from its website (odd). In addition, it appears the quality of the clothes has deteriorated and the sizing of the clothes seems to have changed. More of the clothes seem boxy and oversized. In addition, J Jill is one of the last retailers to not adjust their shipping and return policies. Many competitors offer free shipping... but not J Jill.
Answer: That is not a question, just a rant. This is Q&A only.
Answer: Well, Phillip, because women (and men?) keep wearing their clothes. You complain but you keep buying. What incentive do you give them to change?! Whose fault is it now?
