Summer 2021 designs are positively ghastly! Hideous, dowdy, old-fashioned-looking prints! Drab, dull color palete, more appropriate for fall or winter than summer! Designs that are extremely matronly (tunics too long, pull-on pants for gardening or working on the farm--NOT the least bit chic, the entire line lacking in any style or pizazz whatsoever! If J Jill is to survive, they had best hire some new designers to create a collection of smart-looking traditional, basic, tailored styles that have some oomph, a look the brand was once known for!
I used to be able to get a decent shirt or substantial pima t-shirt from J Jill, but they have redesigned everything to be "flowy" flimsy and shapeless. Every single top is a long baggy tunic, even the basic t shirts. There is nothing I want at this store anymore. They are designing for 70 year olds. Very frumpy.
I have been shopping at J Jill for decades... casual styles that can be dressed up or down and a bohemian look in some of their tops.
Then they got a new designer and I can't find anything good to say about their clothes. He makes the most unflattering clothes from tops to dresses to pants. The colors are too vibrant, the dresses look like sacks. I have essentially stopped shopping there and hope they get a better designer before his contract runs out. From the looks at others' reviews, this store is going to close soon! I am so disappointed with what JJill Has done to their unique style of clothes
I'm very disappointed in J. Jill now, and J. Jill clothes have been my go-to for years. The linen is now thin & cheap - not heavy and substantial. The fits are odd - giant armholes in plus sizes, shapeless tops, pants with hips to large. Lightweight sweaters are see-through - not everyone wants to wear camisoles under everything. Colors are mostly muddy.
Thinking J. Jill has lost sight of their customer base. Salespeople in the stores have told me that J. Jill is trying for a millennial customer base and that is a huge mistake. You can't do both. Older women have the money to spend so stay true to your existing customer base. If you are trying to compete with Ann Taylor Loft, etc, you will lose.
There's rarely anything I look good in. The store used to have beautiful things but no longer. Returns aren't free and the place didn't open until 12(!) today, a Tuesday, and if you are doing a return, they don't credit you at the price you paid for it, like Nordstrom does. I won't be back.
I have been a customer of Jjill since the early 90's. They use to have very few patterns and very good quality material. It reminded me of Eileen Fisher. Now it reminds me of an older women's store like Anthony's and now a days Talbots. I believe Jjill is owned by same company. Anyway, I wish they would learn by the clothes that get left behind each season and stop making those hideous pattens. No one under 70 should wear red, black, and white patterned anything.
I received a gift in the wrong size and called customer service to see how to correct. Oh my gosh! What abysmal service! I was offered: buy the right size now online (with your money) and wait until the item restocks in 3 weeks to get it. Meanwhile, return the one you have to the store for a store credit. Does that solution make sense to ANYONE?
I politely suggested that, if he had engaged his brain to find me a solution, this would not be it. Sheesh! Just don't shop here, people.
In the 1990s, I bought most of my clothing at J. Jill. It was artistic and of high quality, an it fit me well. I still have a skirt and a cashmere sweater from that era, and they both look almost never worn. Desperate find decent petite clothing, I went back recently. Like so much other clothing these days, it's crap. I have never had a piece of clothing go bad after one washing. The shirt from the Wherever collection did just that. The inside material is white, while the outside is a pattern on black. The white from the underside bled through onto the front, so that the front is covered in something like lint, and the shirt looks like it's been washed 50 times. I do have one other shell from J. Jill and that seems fine, but you have to be very careful there. The original price of the shirt was $59 and then they marked it down, which so many retailers these days do. The prices as marked are always fake. The shirt is probably only worth $12 if that. Too bad.
Very disappointed to see that all customer reviews of JJill clothing have disappeared from their site, overnight, it seems. Those used to be deal makers or deal breakers for me when deciding on an item, especially when it came to sizing. This decision by JJill to remove them makes one suspicious of their real motives.
As their customer of 20 years I continue to consider them quite unique, but I have to agree with other customers who complain about their brand slowly eroding. I also used to be very fond of their jackets - anything from linen to silk, to tweed - but now they hardly ever offer any of those.
Not happy with rude and incompetent sales staff and manager will never shop at that store again. Love their clothes so will only shop on line. If you want a credit card from them they want name address email phone dob and ssi number I refuse to give out all that information to a retail store or anyone else for that matter.
I have shopped at JJill for over 30 years, primarily through catalog. I was excited to see a store open in our community.
The women that work here are horrible.
For example, I walked in today and was "greeted" with "do you want something?"
Nothing else said, no one else in store... understand why?!?!
The "New" collection released today is the same old black and white and now a little red. What happened to all the colors? The colors they do have looked washed out. I am saving so much money that I usually spend there. Even have a $100 Christmas gift card with a $60 balance. Usually, I spend the gift cards right away. Telling everyone not to give me a Jjill gift card for my upcoming birthday. Guess I'll try Ann Taylor.

Don't like the new color selection and the style changes. Their colors for this summer seem to be black, brown, dark green and white, with a few, very few other colors. I live in Texas, you don't wear black down here in the summer. Really, you don't wear dark colors down here in the summer, it's too hot! Also, the linen pants that I regularly bought several pairs of each year have gone away and been replaced by other styles that don't really fit. I understand if they want to update their styles for a younger clientele but don't forget about the older customers who also buy clothes from you. Keep some of the older styles and also have the trendier styles. Haven't bought any pants from them this summer and only two tops. Normally, I buy a lot more than that. Guess I'll just save my money!
Today 4/13 I drove an hour one way to shop at the Peachtree City store. I needed clothing for two graduations and Mothers Day, two associates were standing at the register having a discussion about religion and the price of airline tickets, not once did they acknowledge me being in the store, not once was I offered help. This used to be a favorite store, but I will never spend a penny there. I went to other stores and bought my clothing, everyone at Talbots was very helpful.
Made one purchase on this card in November 2017. Have spent over $150 in late fee charges and monthly nonuse charges. When I called in to pay balance one month was told there would be an additional $9 fee to do this by phone. Opted to do it online- didn't realize that although I paid bill by due date- it took 2 days to post and I was once again charged a late fee. Customer service reps were rude and condescending.
Hi Carol, we are very concerned to hear this feedback, and apologize for the frustration. Could you please email us your full name and billing address to customerservice@jjill.com? Please attention the email to Kim S. We would appreciate the opportunity to look into this matter with Comentity Bank, issuer of the J. Jill Credit Card.
I thought I'd try out the down vests instead of going with the a well known other brand and I learned my lesson, never buy a down vest from a brand other than the well-known ones. The vest is priced very high for horrible quality. The zipper failed in less than a year and barely using it. I'm surprised how horrible the quality is considering the fact that their clothes are so pricey. They need to consider upgrading the quality of their clothes or lowering the prices tremendously. What a joke of a brand. On top of that, their customer service is horrible and they don't back up their faulty product. Horrible experience! Never again will I buy anything from them. It's not worth the price. Very unsatisfied.
I buy JJill all the time. The fit is hit or miss not mostly ok. But, the last 4 tops I bought get little holes in them. I had that problem a couple of years ago and now it has started again.
I can't buy anything anymore as I don't trust that it will hold up after a couple of washings
Very disappointed

I bought two tops online from J.Jill.co. They charged me for delivery. Neither fit. Unpredictable because their clothes are often oversized, although sometimes tight fitting. I had to return both, one too big, one too small. When I called to arrange return, they wouldn't bend on their shipping return fee, even though the size problem was their fault, not mine. So I ended up being charged almost $20 for clothes I couldn't wear and had to return
Quick to take your money slow on returning your money. I had to return an outfit that I purchased for a wedding that was cancelled due to Covid, I understand that everyone is stressed out but come on this situation has been going on for quite some time and they should have their act together by now. J Jill is not a small business. Will be a long time before I think about purchasing from J JIll
Such a disappointment. After years of being a long time customer who paid my bill in full every month J Jill has lost me as a customer over $19.51. I had an unexpected hospital stay and was two days late (I called to let them know) sending in my payment and was thanked for calling and was told that because I was such a valued customer they would waive all fees... that is not what happened so I called customer service and the supervisor Daniel said he could not do anything for me... I asked him to cancel my card and he tried to sell me on the benefits of the card... I am well aware of the benefits as I have been a customer for years... not any more. I will no longer shop with J Jill and will share my disappointment.

Why do they have a problem with understanding the instruction UNSUBSCRIBE?
Since purchasing one dress, which was nothing like as advertised and for which I paid hefty sum in tax because I do not live in the USA - J.Jill.com have pestered me on a daily basis with at least one email (a day) and they refuse to remove my email address from their database.
I have asked them many times to take my name and address off their database and they just ignore me and they also ignore the simply link on the email to unsubscribe.
Because I am with gmail - there is not the facility to actually block these cowboys - for that is what they are - or should I say - cowgirls.
Do not waste your money on purchasing any item of clothing from J.Jill.com
Go to a shop - go anywhere - preferably avoid all online sales pitch.
Answer: That is not a question, just a rant. This is Q&A only.
Answer: Well, Phillip, because women (and men?) keep wearing their clothes. You complain but you keep buying. What incentive do you give them to change?! Whose fault is it now?
