I bought twice from the onlinestore (jeans and shirts). They were processing my orders fast and shipped the whole thing within one business day.
Customer service was very helpful and did reply within 12 hours after my inquiry.
I am certainly going to shop there again.
This review is only about the ship to store option, I have done curbside pickup before, as well as ship to my house and there has been no problem at all. Multiple weeks ago, I placed an order online, and it gave me to option to ship to my house, or ship to the store for free (no shipping charges). I chose to ship to the store, since I have a location nearby, and let's just say, I have no clue what's going on with my package or when it will arrive. There is no way to track it, it just says "in transit," yet it was originally. Said to arrive at the store by a certain date, which has passed. After they took the money out of my account, I haven't heard anything else. Be cautious when choosing this option, because if I had known it would be this complicated just to figure out where my items are, or when I will be receiving them, I would have just gone to the store myself or paid for shipping.
I have been wearing JC Penney underwear my entire life. Until lately, I have always loved it—briefs, t-shirts and Gold Toe socks. Other than dramatic increase in cost over the years, the quality has been generally consistent.
However, I recently bought 4 packs of white Gold Toe crew socks and for the first time was extremely disappointed. Since these are the socks I wear for everything day in and day out, I have to do this every few years. This time, even after several washings they feel rough and almost like cardboard going on, especially in the toe area. The material feels much thinner throughout than in the past. The shape of the sock is nearly that of a tube sock; there is very little heel.
I can't recommend these socks any longer, unfortunately. And know that JCP does not allow negative reviews to be posted to their site, either. I am reminded that this is the 2nd time I tried to post a negative review on a product and it was rejected.
You can get amazing deals from jcpennhs online when you combine sales and jcp credit coupons. Only downside is they sometimes will cancel your order. I have had several orders cancelled because I was able to get $300 cookware for $100 with sales and coupons
I am being treated like a criminal for to many returns. I have had a receipt for every single return I have made, yet I was flagged. It's embarrassing to have a cashier then a manager tell you they can't return clothing that doesn't fit for 180 days. I always charge, which should be proof I am not shop lifting. Last year I spent $3000 on my card at Penney's. I am stuck with clothing that doesn't fit... again I always have a receipt or bag the order comes in.
I purchase for myself, my 3 children and my 3 Grand Children. I'm done with JC, we are building a new home, I'm buying my appliances and blinds elsewhere.
Ordered two boxes of expensive dishes, one of the dinner plates was broken, wanting to give me pennies for a credit or have me return the box to the store. First of all I ordered online to avoid the store and now you want me to fix your problem, closing this account, it should not be this hard!
I ordered items on the 21st of May, it is now the 31st of May, I have called in 3 time to check on them. I was told that someone made up a packing slip, but never shipped them. I was not told we are sorry and will see that they go out right away.
I was told they would credit my account for the items. I did not want credit I wanted the items. If you make a mistake clean it up. This person should be fired. I have had an account with J C Penney since 1967.
Tried it twice both times I was unimpressed with my photos. I was rushed and didn't feel appreciated as a customer. I was told if I didn't like my photos I'd have to reschedule and come back. As a customer I feel that was insulting. It took me all day to get me and my kids ready my sister came over to do my hair it took me a week to find outfits. What do you mean come back another day and try again? This was both times. But this time I just about cried because of disappointment. I put so much effort into our outfits only to be rushed out. The lady asked how I wanted to pose rather than show us poses. And usually for one shot atleast 3 photos are taken and then the best picture can be picked. This did not happen. We received a total of 12 pictures of different poses to chose from but no multiple snaps of the same one to make sure everyone smiled no one blinked. Awful
My appointment was automatically cancelled. I have no issue with this because of covid. I kept calling as the message said to leave your name and number and they will call you back. 8 months later and i finally get in contact with them. They tell me i have to drive 2.5 hours away to get what i paid for 8 months earlier. I complained in a phone call and they said, because i purchased through groupon they cannot do anything for me. The person on the phone could not give me the managers full name she was dealing with and there was no help. I told them i would be writing a bad review on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. They did not seem to care. I have no product. As far as I am concerned they stole my money.
I will never use the services of JC Penny again and I won't purchase anything from this antiquated business.
Got an email on 12/20 & 12/21 saying if u order by 12/21 you will receive your order by Christmas... I ordered 12/20 & still haven't receive it and customer service just made up reason why I haven't received the item and I have to pay to return them, according to the supervisor Ebony out of Milwaukee. I order from stage on the 21st with free shipping and received it before Christmas
I like shopping here, because they usually have a good selection of clothing, and they are not outrageously priced. I like that there is usually a sale going on for what I am there to purchase, anyway. Their clothing is current with the latest fashions. The few times I have had to return something, it was always easy and the sales people have always been helpful and nice.
Worst customer service over 16 minutes wait with out even asking me what i want cancelling my order when i still want it because of a mistake they made and when i asked if i can get my order again they said they will charge me again while not receiving my money first i have to wait 3 to 4 days and at the end they speak rudely and no help not even calming me don very frustrating ive been waiting for this close to a month to be told re order it and maybe i will get it ive shopped at Macy's online amazon and never went threw such a service never going to recommend JC penny and a service goes a long way this was the worst the person who actually placed my order the first time was very helpful and sorted everything out for me thats why getting such a service shocked me
The JCPenney in Peabody has a woman there by the name of Roxanne. She is the rudest manager I've ever met. She made me wait for a interview for 30 mins just to tell me she doesn't have time. I was late to the interview but her ignorance made me feel better that I didn't get hired there because there's no way in hell is work for her. Good luck to those who work there she is a total $#*!!
Have been shopping at JC Penney for years. I have found that prices are great, and merchandise is of good quality. JC Penny is usually my first stop when I think of clothes. Helpful staff makes shopping a pleasure.
I had fairly decent luck with JCPenney's website until I had the misfortune of moving. Somehow their website kept insisting on reverting my delivery address to my former residence. I thought it finally corrected itself after several attempts, but still ended up being shipped to this address. I immediately called JCPenney's not customer service line and was assured the mistake would be resolved and the items would be resent to my new address. Well after three weeks of waiting I was told UPS was at fault and not JCPenney's. Today, I was told it was my fault because I entered the wrong address, which I kept changing to the correct address. The "customer care person" called me a liar and I was making it up. So JCPenney's can go pound sand and I hope they struggle because of their arrogance.
Waited patiently for my order after three weeks I called they said it was shipped. Waited another week nothing, called 48 minute wait to talk to someone, following day 18 minute wait finally got to talk to a real person can't find anything about my order I wanted to ask her a question and she hung up on me. No wonder their stores are closing. NEVER AGAIN!
But they are not quite as good as they use to be. When I order on line, my order come in with 3 different times and I had to make 3 trips to pick up. I was going to wait until they all got there but they threaten if I didn't pick it up in 3 days they would send it back. That was after the first one came.
Dont ever call their customer service. I had called them about an online order and was disconnected in the middle of the conversation. When I called back I got someone who was extremely rude and refused to put me through to a supervisor and was hung up on again. She clearly didnt want to be doing her job and was the rudest customer service person I ever spoke to. I wont give this store anymore business. Terrible!
Don't ever try to return a item without your receipt! The credit card you used is useless. Their statement we receive in the mail also useless. In the end they just pick your pock and refund your item at 10 cents on the dollar. I had the manager hep me with this on my last visit to JC Penny. I asked what do they do with Christmas gifts and no receipts? He said they to get a discounted refund.
Bad customer service, Cannot cancel your order (after 1 month order online for a mattress) they kick the ball to vendor. They don't allow you to cancel your order. Bottom line: do not waste your time, your money with JCPenney business. I think this is why JCPenney close to the bankruptcy. 5/11/2021.
Answer: I believe that there is a policy related to coupons. The clerk did look up your. Credit card. If you had been shopping at a grocery without your coupon it would have been the same. It is nice that at times they have made an exception for you which was good customer service on their part. Perhaps you had a new clerk that was still training or very busy. You should not blame the store for one instance with one employee. You also should not expect special treatment just because someone has bent the rules in the past.
