I was 💯 percent misrepresented, basically lied to so I would use this service. I had already picked out an interlock service 265.00 install including 1st month, when intoxolock called me. I asked why should I use this service: 1. We only calibrate every 3 months which is normal and can do with any other company
2. Told me my time would start as soon as my device was installed NOT TRUE
3. Told me it would take 2-4 hours the guy that installed said never is that true I was there 8 hours.
4. Told me payments are made 2x a month to help customers.
5. I paid the 49.95 to start never did he tell me that I would still owe 94.99 ( they charge a fee to use them as well as a monthly.
6. I pay them 94.99 a month and an additional 30.00 when calibration which he told me 15.00 to 20.00
Told me there was a minimum state charge of 94.99 NOT TRUE. I called 3 companies 79.99 to 90.00
The device is like 100 years old. It's huge wires all of the place and a camera huge, and a big block in my windshield.
I have never ever seen anything like this, devices are small quick to test and a very small camera.

They also promised to give me a 100.00 back towards my install see if that's true? I have to have his service for the next year I am so disappointed and upset. The things you have to blow into won't even stay in the machine. I had to fumble around to find it before I could blow. Absolutely insane! And I just found out from the supervisor that he charged me $40 to overnight a device never told me he was overnighting anything never told him I had to have it ASAP. This is from something that happened in 2018 she's credited me the $40 but everything else she's just sorry for, well I'm sorry that this company ever ever called me because I would never ever use them.
These people broke my alarm and auto start four months ago. I have spoken to managers and have spent countless hours on the phone with them to get nowhere. I live in Alaska and all winter with no auto start and no explanation. The worst experience ever, hope you choose a different business so you do not experience this.
My cousin flies out of state for work and has asked me to care for her car with the intoxalock device in it. Every 3-5 days, the battery is COMPLETELY dead and requires I jump start it. Having the battery constantly drained to zero like this is going to half the brand new batteries life. I recently found out there is a "power save mode" which doesn't help the situation at all. It's getting old in a hurry, having to spend an hour plus if my time sitting in this car as it charges.i can't even go inside because I have to worry the moment I do it's gonna want me to blow again. Straight trash. But they have no problem making you pay to get it "calibrated", serviced, to tow a vehicle, etc.
Use another company. They never told me the date forms calibration. When I called to inquire, I was given nothing but generic phrases and misinformation. The employees either don't know what they're doing or they don't care, I'd be Willington bet both are true. If the automated system doesn't waste your time, the employees will.
Where ti start, try to get my device taken out and compliance unit refuse to do their job. Went to make a complaint within company, the lady wouldn't let me trying to explain its my fault because I can't provide court order number. I have them the correct municipality where I was charged and they had a different one by the end of my time with the device. As if they are refusing to remove the box outta my car
Customer service was great before installation and after installation it was absolutely terrible, the worst. My son has a voluntary system installed. My son had a lockout for vehicle electrical reason, could not get through to customer service. Once I got through I was transferred 2 times and then disconnected. Customer service reps don't speak good English and they don't know what's going on. And there were more calls to them and we were not able to get through.
On extremely cold days the device will sometimes malfunction after it has started amd wont accept your breaths. If you get a lock out it will not be refunded and you will be charged over a $100 for no fault of your own. WATCH OUT
Please avoid this company at all costs. They are not upfront about pricing and sneaking fees on you. Do not put a card on file. Do not use this company at all. The device will drain your battery and destroy your car's computer.
I transferred my device to a new vehicle. Was quoted at $300 ended up paying $500. Then I had a handheld malfunction. In which they charged me a $75 fee for reset plus service charges. I've been thru this with them over and over. They always find a loophole to charge you extra money.
I am 11 months sober. That would be a celebration, but the 10 months I have had with Intoxalock's IID during this time have been the worst 10 months of my life. I am on my third lockout violation in a week due to this device destroying my car battery (violation 11) during subzero temperatures and have received no assistance beyond, "Go get it reset at your service center for $75 and then somehow file a complaint with people that don't know what is happening."

For starters, the device is a POS. Mouthpieces don't securely fit into the device, so the mouthpiece if always falling out and onto the car floor, under the seat, etc. Really sanitary to be putting into your mouth. Secondly, you need to have Superman lungs to make this thing work correctly. The inhaling, exhaling, then inhaling again... it has to be perfect or it fails. Next is the ridiculousness of the amount of times having to blow WHILE DRIVING. No rhyme or reason as to when and how often. It can be 2 minutes after you started the car or 20 minutes. It's unsafe. And worst is the noise. Very loud beeping and grinding noises when alerting you to blow while driving. A real joy for my passengers, friends, family, daughter's friends, etc. And lastly - the price is just ridiculous for the leasing of this thing. Greedy as can be. There HAS to be better alternatives.

So Many violations I had to pay at $75.00 a pop that weren't alcohol related. Even violations because their mouth pieces never stay on the equipment, fall beneath the seat, and at your feet while driving causing even more danger driving on the roadways and if you don't blow in time another $75.00 add on. They don't even want you to call complaining because they will do nothing. The thing that gets me is my car was just recently totalled and they want me to pay an early termination fee of over $120.00. This is so sickening to me as they don't talk to you as they are human they are only after your money. I'm buying a new car in the next few months and I definitely will not go back to this company for their services because they have no human relationships with their customers. What a circus they run taking advantage of everyone.
After I signed up I looked at the reviews and saw that ther were problems after a year I am tired if the lies after disputing lock out charges they blocked my access to statements and cannot or will not fix it I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau and gone with a different company.
Long story but here goes. I was required to do 12 months through the state of MD. First 12 months no issues with Intoxalock. After I completed my 12 months I called Intoxalock to inquire about the voluntary program. Never heard back from them via phone, email, app, nothing. About 5 weeks passed and I went in for my normal calibration and my service center told me they couldn't process it. I called Intoxalock and they informed me a new device was sent to me. I was without a car for a day because of the issue but hey no big deal. Got new device and shipped back the old one in their pre labeled return box. Tracking shows it delivered to Intoxalock but then I start receiving notifications that I have overdue equipment… I have called Intoxalock a dozen times over the last 10 weeks to get it resolved. Each time I have to re-explain the entire thing to customer service, provide the tracking info, etc. I've escalated to supervisors who give me the same story that they have emailed the warehouse to resolve. I have spent nearly 30 hours on the phone with them or waiting on hold with no resolution. Each time the email the warehouse again I'm told to wait 3-5 business days. This place is an absolute joke. Now I can't even get the voluntary device removed without paying $1,600 for the device they can't find. This place is a scam. This is how they do business. They've acknowledged that my tracking shows it was delivered. I'm to the point where I'm going to have the voluntary device removed and report any charges they make for their misplaced device reported as fraudulent and let my credit card company deal with their incompetence.

Go with anyone else over intoxalock unless you don't mind being afoot because of their faulty devices. I've been without a way to go for 13 days and counting and spoke with agents until I've made myself physically sick dealing with these ignorant careless POS's! On my second faulty device and first one had me stuck out of town for 5 days since they sent the device to a city 7 hrs from where I was. They then tried to charge me for the new device…. Just crooks! Save yourself the trouble and go with smart start!
So I went to get my batter changed and all of a sudden the device just stopped working. So now I have to tow it to my house and then tow it to the service center to get a new device. They withdrew money from my account when it was not authorized. Called and was told there was nothing that way could do. Do not set up automatic payments with them!
