Humana durg plan has become a very poor excuse for a company who could not care less about its customers you talk to there employs you get the feeling they are their only to collect a pay check while doing as little as potable to help there customers. I have been trying to get a copy of a bill for drugs ordered over a month age with no luck after many calls. Its too hard to go to my account find the drug I ordered and hit the send button
Humana says that they see us, but they certainly DO NOT make the process of filing a claim easy. After submitting a claim under my dental coverage, it took over two months to get them to respond. They ignored the claim and never contacted me to say they were ignoring it.
It appears that there is a separate member ID number for dental versus medical, although they never sent me a new ID card or informed me that this was the case. Therefore my member ID did not match, so they just ignored it.
Finally after I took the initiative to find out what was going on and answered all their questions, the claim was approved and they sent that determination to the Dentist involved. Problem solved, so I thought – NOT!
Over a month later I received a notice in the mail that the claim was being denied because I did not answer a question regarding whether this was a new service or a replacement service. I had answered that question when they originally approved the claim. I called and answered the question again and now I have waited over a week for them to notify the dentist.
This is the worst approach I have encountered regarding bureaucratic processes that ignore customer care and concern.
Their representitves would tell you any lies to just sell their insurance, after you buy they say your plan is not eligible for what you ask for in first place!
In a world full of insurance company crooks, Humana is crowned king. I was promised a dental plan that fully covered two routine cleanings per year with a $50 lifetime deductible. I received a bill for over $100 from my dental provider showing that Humana did not pay the full amount for my first routine cleaning (deductible already paid). I attempted to cancel my insurance, and the agent informed me that I am "unfortunately passed the refundable period and still under contract for one year." Therefore, monthly premium payments for the entire year remain my responsibility with a canceled insurance policy.
I order by mail to get 90 dat supplies. I tend to be forgetful and wait until the last minute. I have asked that They call 2 wks. Before my rx is due, hahaha, an I give permission to full my order. This has been going on for 3 mos. That is how long O have been using then.
Very poor quality of service. Unable to provide simple information.general questions end up debates. When addressing concerns of this conduct person got defensive and hostile.
Will be seeking another health care insurance provider. As of today. May 12thI just joined 2 weeks ago. If this is the pattern now. Why would I want to stay they can call and say what ever. I no longer care my decision is finally due to the conduct of humana

I got this insurance and canceled, which was no charge and no contract, yet when I cancelled a couple of days after still being billed and no credit. Now having to call my bank on fraudulent charge. Worst company ever!
I have had ups and down with Humana. But you have them with all insurance companies. I like that I got 50$ gift card just being healthy. And they have Humana nurse call me! There is also silver sneakers. So all and all they are good!
I called Humana to report a fraud claim, the person I talked to said you need to call the special fraud unit. She gave me a phone number. I called the number it turned out to be Humana pharmacy. I guess she just gave me a false number. After I was on the phone for a period of time I got the run around. I was upset. I also was prompted to give a review call, but I never got that call. Humana get your $#*! together.
I would not place in trust in Humana. I've placed orders in their automated system and they went no where they have no record nor did they ship. These both had refills on them that were current. Also went to refill another perscription, they said it was too soon that I had just received this item last month and that it would be another 30 days before it could be refilled again. I never received the previous month they referred to. I've had problems with their billing and they finally got right and now this.
Cannot work with a company like this. This last round was for my chemo pills so very stressful.

This company will lie to you,, send you down blind alleys. My stepdad passed away in Mazatlan Mexico. I was advised to file claims because he was hospitalized within the first 60 days. I was told to send my claims to the "foreign claims dept" by Meghanne J. There IS no foreign claims dept, said the next rep. Then several other calls to different people with different stories and pure bull$#*!! I was given the runaround and they wasted tons of my time filling out forms and chasing rainbows. False hopes and promises. Then they said I have to go back to Mazatlan and get the doctor to coordinate with medicare for the correct codes and also write a letter saying it was an emergency. He didn't go to the hospital for a cup of tea! Then the last woman accused me of taking my step dad there for treatment and threatened me with a fraud accusation. These people are just plain mean and evil at a time when I am distraught. There is NO mercy! Icewater in their veins.
Humana website pharmacy you order otc meds or items, you will have to start at the top again to scroll down to products it is time consuming, it takes about 2 wks, to get your products you order mail is slow.
I change plans this year to Humana what a mess and debacle it is the dental that they tell you $2,000 that they will give you does not even cover pulling a tooth or even dentures and as for their insurance on your prescriptions everything you get nine chances out of 10 will need to have a prior authorization even though you had it already approved through your prior carrier and it was Medicare approved I am leaving Humana and going back to United Healthcare by far UnitedHealthcare blows Humana out of the water in Suffolk County
Humana is the worst company we've ever dealt with. My wife got encephalitis & spent 5 days in intensive care in Mexico. Our bill was $31,000+. We had to pay partially out of pocket. She had to go back to the ER one week later because she was having a seizure. They would not keep her overnight for observation because we owed the hospital money. It took a complaint with the Better Business Bureau & several complaints to their grievance dept. before we received any reimbursement, after being told it was being processed & a check would be released within a couple of weeks. It took nine months of listening to their lies & misinformation & even then, they only reimbursed us $17,000. We cannot use this hospital for any treatment, emergency or otherwise. She fell & needed emergency elbow surgery & had to use a surgical center six months later. We had to borrow the $7,500 & pay in advance. We are both on a fixed incomes, social security & disability. Again, Humana said use the center & reimbursement, once again, & it would not be a problem. That claim was denied & we are going through the same process. We had letters from our orthopedic surgeon stating that she could not travel due to the illness & injury. This company is an embarrassment & I would advise any new applicant to look elsewhere. We will continue to post on social media for the rest of our lives until we get some satisfaction. This country is greatly suffering due to lawyers & insurance companies, especially when they are dealing with the elderly & retired. This is another negative review in a long list of horrible reviews. I only hope that those employees making life altering decisions go through what we have & continue to go through. The government needs to look at this company very closely as their practices are extremely unfair & biased. Again, save yourself much aggravation & wasted time, & look elsewhere.
The medicare supplement coverage is good, but watch out, they call you at least 3 times a week and every time the caller doesn't have a record of anybody else calling. I had to block the calls.
This site is very informative. When I need to know what the coverage of certain treatments are such as Botox it has always gave me all the information need.
Please stay away from this company for your own good. I had a doctor prescribe a medicine that isn't normally used for the disease I had contracted. Obviously, HUMANA refused to pay for the meds. My doctor received a commendation in a medical journal for treating my illness as he did. Even when he sent HUMANA a letter outlining why he prescribed the medicine, they STILL REFUSED TO REIMBURSE me!
They are arrogant and not at all for the patient/customer. PLEASE STAY AWAY!
Humana has a habit of refusing payment so there are no neuro-surgeons in a 2 million metro area that accepts this "insurance". Any CAT or MRI scans needed are not possible. You have to find a G. P. willing to write scripts for it and it is a nightmare. 8 procedures were refused payment when I was in the hospital and I appealed every one to arbitration-arbitrator was in total agreement so Humana sent a letter out to complete the resolution. You can finish the case on the net or phone-they ask for a number, not recognized on either means and of course no humans to talk to in order to resolve the issue. Try calling complaint number and your chances of a completion are slim as they are always experiencing Higher than normal call volume. Obviously a lot of dissatisfaction. I have diabetes and you can google it but all testing and measuring supplies are covered in full by Medicare-unless you have Humana and 6 months and counting with a different refusal for every claim. I believe their policy is to beat you down and they win. Friends in Wi. Are experiencing the same problems. She has a ruptured disc, can not walk and is intense pain and had to wait for 13 days for an approval for an MRI which did not show the problem, same cycle repeated until the disc was found. You receive unsolicited colo-rectal test kits and 3 calls a week over nonsense. Two different employers provide this insurance as it is most obviously bottom tier. If you value decent coverage avoid this provider, frankly I get more timely and humane treatment from my vet.
Past yr 1/2 have been torture as to BILLING problems and Humana either no help in resolving Explaining nor a go between I feel like I spend months working as a 4th party w/ no paycheck. U never get same person w/issues so you have to repeat issue to dozensss reps. I've had multiple bills I wound up paying due to either doc/billing coding errors or doc listed as NOT IN NETWORK when they definitely ARE. Or doc walking in a hospital room & billing as a office visit. To no avail but u pay it or get sent to COLLECTIONS. The services are not bad yet the cust serv the CONSIDERATION & LACK OF HELP on problems is Huge and a reason I will not keep this useless insurance next year. THE should change the tag "HUMANA DOESNT CARE" they most definitely just side with the docs & business scamming of health system and lack of any empathy for its customers. I gave it 2 stars not 1 only due to the good of the basic program. Vs horrible cust help & issues that develop.
Answer: It is just about impossible to speak to anything but a bit and if the bot doesn't like your answers, it just hangs up on you. I finally go into line to speak to an agent. I stayed on the line almost 30 min, then the agent that got on couldn't help me and gave me a other number to call. For this kind of service, I pay over $200 a month?. You can get a medicare advantage plan lots of places for a $0 out of pocket ( besides the $170 the government deducts from my Social Security to give to them) I was paying $61 a month on top of that because I actually believed their hype. Get something else, anything g else
