After a diagnostic run on HP's web site it was determined that the battery in my 3 month old lap top was bad. I made an appointment at their service center at Best Buy and drove over an hour to have it replaced.
When I got there the Geek Squad told me they couldn't do the work because HP wouldn't ship them the parts but they could ship it in and I should have it back in 6 to 8 weeks. HP ISN'T THE COMPANY IT ONCE WAS. The geek told me my best option was to buy anything but an HP because he was seeing so many problems and thanked me for not yelling at him.
#HP
TERRIBLE company TERRIBLE product - the unprofessionalism and inability to stand behind their products is OFF the CHART. I am a 20+ year customer. No More. Do yourself a favor pass on these mediocre products. Save yourself the trouble.
Been on hold for 45 minutes with Rosalyn at hp to get a battery replaced for the laptop
Asked for a supervisor 25 minutes ago and Also asked for the number of the battery
Still on hold with Rosalyn at hp getting jerked around
I simply need the number of the battery for the laptop
I've never been jerked around by a large company until now
Very unimpressed with the customer service from Rosalyn at hp
This conversation should have been 5 minutes not 48 minutes with out a answer
I used to buy HP printers. They're actually well designed. So I bought a $400 model which they classified as a business computer. All of a sudden the 24/7 support became really limited. Imagine that. A fairly standard laser printer with sudden reduced support. HP has one mission: to get you to buy and replace as fast as possible. This increases profits and allows FAT CAT CEO Meg Whitman to eat some more.
They have other tricks also. They don't fully explain how you can resolve an easily resolvable problem with your purchased item and try to hard sell you on a new model. My printer needed to be replaced as it was defective. I hounded their Customer Support, their Executive Support at *******817 (also known as Office of the President ~ which all large companies have and sometimes a good group to air your complaints to), and they wouldn't budge either. Luckily, the Santa Clara, CA District Attorney's office (where their corporate headquarters is located) advised me to inform HP that I spoke with them and they would assist me in enforcing my rights, and HP couldn't take the return and fork over my hard earned cash fast enough. You can bet Meg ate one less scoop of ice cream that night.
HP is not just the affordable laptops for the school.
They also make desktops for professionals. Their Z desktops are one of the best in the industry for rendering or AI developments.
I have bought a scanner 4 years ago and it's still as good as new. Even a printer requires nothing more than new cartridges. Have nothing to complain about.
WORST LAPTOP EVER... EXCEPT FOR THEIR SERVICE WHICH IS WORSE STILL
ALSO, THEY ARE SUPER CHEAP AND MISERLY WITH RETURNS - THEIR PRINTERS ARE THE WORST AND THE INK A CRIMINAL RIPOFF.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I just bought an hp envy 6542e printer. Then found out that to set it up and use it, you will be required to connect to Microsoft Store. Nowhere on the box does it tell you this, only after you buy it and take it home to set it up and use it, do you find out about this. Little side note. I DO NOT USE MICROSOFT STORE. Or any other ms products, except of course for their included operating systems on the laptops i use. This is the first time i've ever encountered this forced colaboration w/ a company, a single company, no other download choices, no included CD to instal from, NO. You are forced to use ONLY, Microsoft Store to download the printer's software. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HP PRODUCT. And i've had hp stuff throughout the years since they started. Never again. How dare they force a single pipeline to the. Software, for a printer, that i bought from walmart, and can't use, because i don't have a microsoft store account. And never will.
I am seriously astounded by the terrible service at HP. I reported a problem 6 months after I purchased my laptop. My daughter got the same laptop at the same time and it eventually developed the same problem with the trackpad and memory. They model is poorly assembled garbage.
From March to August, I sent them my laptop 3 times and the first 2 times it came back worse. I told them that I was concerned they were just going to run out the clock until the warranty expired and then try to charge me for these problems. They said that since i reported it during the warranty period, it would be fixed under warranty. They lied.
The third time I sent it in, they tried to charge me before they would accept the service request, even though the laptop was still under warranty at this point. They promised it would be fixed when I got it back. Instead of fixing it, they just kept it. I'm not joking, when they couldn't fix it they just kept it. During this time, my warranty did run out and they locked me out of my service account because I no longer had any products under warranty, so I couldn't even update the service ticket.
After repeated and increasingly angry emails and phone messages from me, I finally got an actual human on the phone. Since they couldn't fix it and refused to return it, I demanded a refund. That was 6 weeks ago and I finally got a reply. They want me to ship the laptop back to them so they can find the problem. The same laptop as they have been holding hostage for 3 months now. At this point, I think they have lost it in their service center and don't want to admit it.
I have had nothing but problems since I purchased my first HP all in one over a year and a half ago every time the Wi-Fi goes out, I have to call support so they can help me reconnect because it never works the last time they told me all your printer is old, you have to get a new one because your Wi-Fi speeds too high, mind you, my printers a year and a half old, I buy a new printer, then they had the audacity to tell me it's used which it's not, I tell them I can no longer use the ink that you're sending me, because I don't have that printer anymore, it doesn't work, and lo and behold, today may 6th they charged for the ink, and then when I finally got ahold of the instinct, people face it over, glad cancel it for you, but you're still gonna be billed for this month they were going to still send you to cartridges of being you can't use because we're fking idiots. I have never dealt with a more incompetent company in my life.
A relatively new printer stopped working. Multiple hours with Customer Support and no resolution. Was hung up on or returned call promises evaporated.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY PRODUCT THEY WONT HELP YOU IS SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH YOUR PRODUCT.
This company wont stand behind their products. I Have a Deskjet 4152E that stopped working about a month ago. The printer stopped printing because of some issue with the ink i contacted the costumer dept and after many hours of troubleshooting nothing happened.
They keep telling me that they have escalated the case to a case manager. Have to wait another 7 days after 7 days passed i call them back and they i was told that the manager has call me. But is a lie i check my phone and my company record and no calls from hp where made no even a voice mail. After telling them about this they keep playing with my time saying that i have to wait another 48 hours. Just BS. My printer is under warranty and they refuse to repair it or replace it. I Will never buy anything from this company because they dont stand behind their product. Shame on you H
I bought the HP Envy 23 Model D2M89EA. Roughly 2 years back with a customer care pack for 2 years.
Ironically after being 27 days out of the warranty, the screen went blank. I had upgraded the desktop to a Windows 10 some 3 months back so the issue was not due to the OS. That also points to the fact that possibly the system itself is faulty.
I raised case number [Personal Information Removed]. The support consultant could immediately get something on the screen by pressing escape repeated but refused to help further saying that she will send an email. The email did not come that evening. After 14 hours at 9:41, the email came.
Obviously, I could not wait for so long. I tried to restore it. After 15 minutes, it went blank and now it was not accepting even the Escape command. Whose fault was it? HP should have troubleshoot at the given point of time or sent the email on time rather than sending it so late. When I called up, they put me in touch with sales and asked me £175 which is a lot for me.
I want to know what are the options available to me:
A) I will like to escalate this matter up! Can I have the email address of Head of Complaints in UK.
B) Does the problem reflect some basic issues with the system so the charge which has been asked for repairs is unfair? I want to go for my statutory rights to complain against them.
C) Any other suggestion?
Looking forward to your help.
Kind regards

First of all, they get you with the cheaper $50 printer but then the y continue to make hundreds of dollars off of you through the life of their product. They force you to enroll in their "HP Instant ink" program where you have a paper limit on how many items you can print and you have to pay a monthly fee with the promise of never running out of ink. The subscription is $13 a month which sounds reasonable until you think about the fact that you are paying for a printer that you already own?! It's crazy. And what's even worse is that you will STILL run out of ink and unless you want to pay out of pocket at staples for new ink cartridges when you should be automatically sent a new supply. You will have to spend 30+ minutes of your day to call customer service and request the ink that should have already been sent to you and that you have already paid for 10X over. I wish there was a place to report this kind of company behavior. The whole company is a scam and the printer really isn't even worth the $50 originally spent on it because the app glitches, the paper size configuration is never right and a lot of times it eats my paper and doesn't work and I have the HP office jet. I will never buy HP again.
LAST HP PRODUCT IN MY HOUSEHOLD!
Purchased a new HP Pagewide printers, was about $1000, after I used up the OEM inks I purchased aftermarket inks for a a year HP decided to put out an update that disables the printer from using aftermarket inks... HP F%&@K YOU!
I own that printer and its my choice to put whatever brand of ink I chose, its like saying I can't put OEM oil in my car... Now I just have a Giant boat anchor!
I now own Epson printers in my home and office.
OK, well I wouldn't exactly buy a computer from a company that once hired Carly Fiorina but when it comes to "inking a deal" I find their toner cartridges to be A++++++++++.
I've been buying HP print cartridges, toner, printers and even paper for 25 years and I have NEVER been disappointed.
With coupons/promotions and customer service I always get a fair price for a product that manages to"Outwit, Outlast and Outplay" the competition. HP is a SURVIVOR for a good reason. When I buy the toner cartridges that claim 1500 pages, I get 2,000. I have 15 year old printers that still work like new. The only reason I've purchased additional printers is that they are cheap and faster than the old ones.
I heartily suggest you get with the HP printer/ink/toner program and just so you know I don't work for them maybe you need to buy your darn computer elsewhere!.
Bought an HP 13.3" Envy x-360 convertible on September 2021 which I paid for with PayPal. After 10 months of use the battery is not holding charge for as many hours as it used to do. Now after a full charge it holds charge for no more than a couple of hours. On August 22,2022 I started a chat with an HP.com customer service technical support expert. After I explained the battery issue to the technician, roshni koyippurathu, and I gave him/her all the information requested from me - and after a 45 minutes chat, he/she said he/she was going to start a test over the internet and that it could take some 20 more minutes but perhaps even longer. I said "you have got to be kidding me". I clearly felt he/she was giving me the run-around, so I asked him/her to give me the name and phone number of his/her supervisor. He/she never did. He/she indicated he/she was going to arrange for a supervisor to give me a call. They never did. I am quite frustrated and disappointed at HP.com. They never gave me a solution to my battery issue; on the contrary, they just tried to get me tired so I would just hang up. - HP, NEVER AGAIN will I buy from you guys ever.
Purchased two laptop computers directly from HP. Computers shipped from CHINA. One came without an outer box and no packing materal. The thin rice box the computer came in was what it shipped in. That box was extremely damaged in transit so there is no way the computer is in good condition. Been trying for three days to get the computer replaced but no luck as no one is picking up the phone at HP except an automated system. The second computer has been in transit for two weeks so no telling how damaged it is. NEVER PURCHASE A COMPUTER FROM HP AGAIN>
HP TAKES YOUR PRINTER HOSTAGE! SINCE THIS IS A SUBSCRIPTION. AND IT IS CHARGED IN ARREARS (NOT FOR THE INK, BUT FOR THE SERVICE!) IF YOU EVER HAVE TO CANCEL YOUR CC (DUE TO YOUR CC BEING COMPROMISED), HP SHUTS DOWN YOUR PRINTER (THAT YOU OWN AND IS IN YOUR OWN HOME -- THEY TAKE YOUR PRINTER HOSTAGE!) -- LITERRALLY -- THEY COMMANDEER YOUR PRINTER. THEN, YOU HAVE TO GIVE THEM YOUR NEW CC AND YOU CAN'T EVER STOP THE HOSTAGE. STAY AWAY. IT IS A SCAM!
I cancelled my order on 7th and it took you 20 days to cancel my order? And now I got an email telling me that it will take 10-12 days for refund? I will wait for 4 days after that I am going to consumer court. And file case against you for giving me mental pressure and depression. I will demand compensation for this. You website says 5-7 business days for refund if amount is paid via debit card.
Its going to take 20 days + 15 days that's 35 days for refund?
FOR ANYONE WHO READING MY COMMENTS PLEASE DON'T BUY HP. I AM NOT SAYING THIS TO SHOWCASE MY ANGER BUT TO SAVE YOU FROM THE PAIN I AM GOING THROUGH. THEIR SERVICE IS PETHATIC! AND THEY ARE MISLEADING. INFORMATION ON WEBSITE WILL BE DIFFERENT THAN WHAT YOU WILL HERE FROM HP REPRESENTATIVE
Answer: Impossible by phone since at least December 2023. ( May be before)
Answer: I'm old and remember the HP of 20 years ago. Boy has time changed this company.
Answer: Lenovo is similar to HP, though the performance of Lenovo's computers is complete crap, the upside to it is that they at least have good service.
