THESE PEOPLE HAVE NO CARES FOR THEIR PATIENTS. I WORK AT A DOCTORS OFFICE AND IT TOOK 3 MONTHS FOR THEM TO FINALLY ACCEPT THE PAPERWORK AFTER THE DOCTOR HAD ORDERED THE WHEELCHAIR. ONCE THE PRODUCE WAS DELIVERED IT WAS SO UNSAFE FOR THE PATIENT THAT EVEN THE TECH THAT DELIVERED IT SAID IT WAS UNSAFE. AS A NURSE AT A DOCTORS OFFICE I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE TO ANYONE. EVER.
My Hoveround was delivered on time, within the window promised. The Hoveround rep explained everything in a clear, concise manner, making it easy for me to get going in my new chair.
My father has been a hoveround user for years. He has had many bad experiences in the past with his chair and always gave the benefit of the doubt. He has been left without a chair for weeks at our expense paying for someone to be with him since he had no way of getting around his apartment. I had to rent a chair for weeks which was another cost. He was thrown out of his chair when it abruptly stopped in the hallway of his apartment and the police had to be called because my father is wheelchair bound and could not get up. I had to take him to the doctors because from the fall his arm and shoulder were hurt. He had to wait for it to be serviced and again another excuse why this happened. Now his chair is doing the same thing by stopping abruptly and I had called to find out about servicing the chair. I was told he qualified for a new chair only to find out that after his doctor appointment and paperwork done (another cost), you are not contracted with his insurance company any longer. That is really nice, when why was he not notified of that before he needed a chair. Now, we need to go through the whole process of finding another company to get a chair. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and I would not recommend your company to anyone ever again. I have gone through so much with my father and this chair its ridiculous. An 86 year old man should not need to go through and worry about.
I really need this scooter because ii cannot walk at all use my Walker but that is awfully hard for me to walk with because it doesnt keep me from falling

I wouldn't choose any other company. Hoveround is the best. Products, quality and service. I've been an client about 5 years now and they always professional and shows clients they care.
I feel free to live again. My chair helps me to do little things like cook for people. I entertained 15 family members that I cooked for without any assistance! Love having my life back!

I was clueless how to obtain a powerchair. I have insurance, but didn't know how to go about obtaining one, so I called Hoveround. They assured me they would file the paperwork with Medicare and my secondary insurance--and they sent me a USED, DIRTY, piece of GARBAGE! The bald tires kept going flat, it was a DISASTER--AND they charged me $2000. TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS, when THEY said they'd bill my insurance for me! They threatened to destroy my credit if I didn't pay it, so I paid it. Then I contacted an excellent wheelchair company, Mobility n' More in Loveland, CO, and had it done correctly. But I was out $2000, and had no way of getting rid of that piece of garbage either. What a NIGHTMARE! Don't have anything to DO with Hoveround!
All I want to say is the technician that delivered and demonstrated my chair was completely and totally respectful and his professionalism and patience were next to none. Thank you Maurice.
The first call you tried and charge it the power cord was defective. I called for assistance and was told they would send me a new one. I am still waiting!
I had someone to call me from hoveround because I had inquired about it a team set me up appointment with my doctor did face too face appointment with my doctor and nobody from your team has contacted me back I did what I was supposed to on my end but y'all have never fallen back up that was over a week ago the way you go Saturday how long does it take I need the chair now
Their customer service is very nasty and does not criticism very well. You can never get a knowledge responsible representative to actually fix the joystick that is very temperamental and the chair itself runs very slowly outdoors and has a short battery life compared to other chairs. It took weeks to get parts that were told would be here in 5-10 days and when they sent representative of the company, they did not adjust the joystick correctly and with my neuropathy, they have caused me injury while using the chair. I would not recommend this company and I am filing BBB complaint to their state of incorporation Florida and to the State Attorney General in New York and to CMS and Medicare and filing Medical Misconduct report with New York state of Health which along with insurance paid for this contraption

My dad is 92 years old. He has had his chair almost a year. He has had to replace the batteries three times in a year and the charger twice. They don't tell you that the batteries need to be replaced multiple times a year. In fact, they told us he could use his chair up to twelve miles a day! His trips to the bathroom, kitchen, and back to the bedroom are probably not even a quarter of a mile, but apparently even that wore the batteries out. The first time, his batteries were under warranty but the second time they would not replace because they had replaced them once. Now we are needing a new charger and our warranty will be out in 5 days, but they are refusing to replace it until we 'prove' that it is not the batteries by buying and installing new batteries. Service suggested that I take the chair down to an automotive shop and get the batteries tested. How is a 92 year old and his 90 pound daughter going to get that chair into the car to be tested by an automotive shop? And the batteries will take a few weeks to arrive, at a cost between $200 and $300 including shipping. The service techs on the phone have been rude and unhelpful. Overall, it is disappointing.
Your receptionist had a bad attitude when I called to get information. Ugly attitude. I will be looking into another company since you guys don't have them to try to find what I need.

My only complaint so far is the absence of a way to tie down the front of the chair for transportation. That should be a built in feature, not an add-on requiring a "Kit"

Answer: So sorry to hear that. I am no longer living with my father-in-law, but I can add to my earlier review and comments. The company did exactly the same thing to him, again. A year later. They got in touch to say that Medicare had accepted their appeal and that the chair was now finally his, and they sent a guy round with the paperwork for signature and everything looked great. It subsequently turned out that Medicare hadn't approved anything and didn't know anything at all about the appeal, and that they were not going to pay. The story that Hoveround gave me was smoke and mirrors and back came the bill for the chair again. As far as I know, a year and a half on, the chair is still not officially his. I probably won't hear anything more about it now, but I'm quite glad I don't have to deal with these people yet again.

Answer: Yes, if doctor can prove medically necessary. Doctor must make file notes to support and you must have an office visit that only addresses the need for your chair.
