The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

Houzz is terrible. I recently bought tiles from houzz and after its delivery, I was checking online and saw the same exact product being sold by the same company on Amazon for 30% less. When I contacted Houzz, they just passed the buck onto the seller and refused to price match. If they are not going to be responsible for the products sold on their website, then they should not be in the business of selling products.
I ordered planters from a company that I found on Houzz... the Luxury Planter Collection. I sent $3720 USD to the company and never received the planters. They are a total scam. Houzz, you should check out the companies that you recommend!
I purchased a comforter. It arrived and was very disappointing. I've been waiting 5 days for them to issue a return ticket, and they claim they cannot get hold of the vendor yet. In other words, they are nothing but a drop shipper. So houzze will not accept my return. I have to send it to whoever the vendor is. Will never shop here again.
Ordered a rug and it looked nothing like the picture They want a restocking fee, want a picture of the item wrapped for packing. I sent the picture and still no response. Cannot contact them by phone. They are a total ripoff
I received a flimsy over priced side table that is literally junk for a high price. And they want to charge a restocking price and return shipping. Amazingly out of touch with competitors and terrible business. I was going to order another table, twice the price from them. No way... and never again
I have had houzz for a yesr and not one lead but they. Are more than willing to sell me more crap
WATCH CAREFULLY FOR WAY OVER PRICED ITEMS! NOTHING BUT RED TAPE TO TRY AND GET REIMBURSED AND THEY REFUSED BECAUSE THE ITEMS WERE ALREADY SHIPPED BUT NOT ALL RECEIVED!... IT HAD ONLY BEEN A FEW WEEKS AND THEY GAVE LAME EXCUSE AS TO WHY THEY WOULD NOT REIMBERSE ME... I PAYED A TOTAL OF 244 PLUS DOLLARS OVER PRICES FROM OTHER WEBSITES!... RIPPED OFF BIG TIME!... NOT TO MENTION I WAS A BRAND NEW CUSTOMER BUT THEY COULD CARE LESS... MADE ME WAIT 5 DAYS AFTER MY REQUEST TO ONLY TELL ME NO!... ALSO YOU WILL BE CHARGED A RETURN TO STOCK FEE!... HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I AM SPEAKING UP TO A MANAGEMENT LEVEL!... WONT PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE FROM THEM BUT LESSON LEARNEDTO SHOP AROUND!
It is not okay that the delivery window was missed. I have spoken to two Houzz reps about this today. The freight company said it is Houzz responsibility to make this right with the customer. I have several people waiting on hold, a scheduling mess, kids with no bathroom and we counted on the delivery window we were given. NO response yet. Totally frustrating. Do NOT order from them.
Mr. Fries has been our electrician for the past several years, and he has always been responsive, courteous, and professional in his work. He has always been able to diagnose and repair issues at our home, and recently responded immediately at night to help my mother in-law, who is blind, restore power to her refrigerator and washing machine. His prices have also always been reasonable. My wife and I recommend him highly. His business phone number is *******634.
We purchased a wall unit in excess of $4,000 from Houzz with an expected delivery date of January 19th through January 26th, 2016. As of February 4th nothing was in our possession. The third/fourth party delivery company came to our house, pulled into our driveway with a rented "Budget Rent a Truck" the drivers refused to exit the vehicle and told my husband to unload the furniture himself.
When we contacted Houzz the stated that they needed to "Contact the Seller"-- Houzz is not the seller and does not have control over anything. We offered to pay the driver of the Budget Rent a Truck $200 to unload the items and carry them into our house -- but again thy refused.
Houzz was NO help in this situation. Save your self time, money and a major headache- buy directly from "the Seller" in this case was: Bestfurnituredeal.com. All of the items they sell include White glove inside delivery and setup in room of choice.
It appears that Houzz is taking the $180 delivery set-up value and pocketing the money. This is obvious when you view the exact same item on different sites sold by different companies-- EVERYONE else sells for the same price with inside delivery and set up included.
Houzz is the Biggest scam around. They need to be Shut Down! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE
Terrible on so many levels. We ordered a sofa from here and were promised a delivery date of February 1-3. When I hadn't received a shipping confirmation by the 2nd it became pretty clear that we wouldn't be receiving our sofa by the promised date, thus went online where the contact page would only allow you to send a message via their contact page and stated that they don't have a customer service number but will respond within 24 hours. So 48 hours after contacting them and a day past the promised delivery date I receive an email that they cancelled my order since they wouldn't be able to get it there on time and the customer service number that supposedly doesn't exist. When calling them to complain their "solution" was to send me to their pre-selection sales team to sell me another similar item. Bwahahahaha! Complete idiots! And now we are in a new house without anywhere to sit. Save yourself the headache and order from a reputable site.
Houzz is a major scam on many levels. They contact Retailers to sell on Houzz.com then once the Retailer start selling a product good, Houzz aggressively goes after that Retailer's Suppler and undercuts the Retailer so they wont be able to sell that product again. They tell Retailers to join this site because we wont be like Amazon and we wont sell against you witch is total lie. We are getting off this site and we hope you spend your money elsewhere. If they really want to be a Market Place they need to stop biting the hands that are helping them due this.
Your website is terrible. I just tried to get on to place an order. I will not make another attempt to purchase anything from your site. Your tech doesn't know what they are doing.
If your plan was to MAKE money, you certainly won't do it with things the way they are.

I placed an order 12/15. The expected delivery date was by 1/2. I wrote them and she contacted the seller, come back and said the seller blamed it on the delays of UPS and the influx of holiday orders. She said they were shipping the next day on a 2 day express. Well, that was nine days ago. And they have already charged my credit card. I really want these chairs but I don't know how much longer I can be jerked around. And I hate those responses like this " Thank you for reaching out to Houzz! I am so sorry to hear that you have not received shipping information on this order. I will go ahead and get in touch with the seller now to see if they can advise on a status update." I would like to hear, What tha hell! Let me get ahold of these people!
I have never written a bad or negative review of any business - it's not my style, preferring to believe that every company makes mistakes or encounters the occasional glitch. Not so with Houzz. Readers, look at all these one star reviews, and BELIEVE them. They offer absolutely the worst, most amateurish and inattentive customer service I have ever encountered, and I've worked in corporate for years, both in retail and advertising. There are no excuses for their consistently horrendous service. They sent out bar stools that were so poorly packaged they were dented, and I had to jump through hoops to return them without paying a shipping fee - for their own damaged merchandise! Another attempt at different bar stools, listed as available, resulted in them not showing up after a month. There is no customer service number on the site, but I managed to track one down on the internet, and finally had a very sincere sounding and totally inept representative explain to me that the stools were back ordered, and would be available in three months. I decided to wait. Three months later, I received another email advising me that my RECENT order was TEMPORARILY out of stock, and would be available in three months. So, that's six months for an order. Now I can't find anyone to cancel my order. And those are just two examples. Look around the internet and you'll see all kinds of negative reviews. I am easily pleased, and not quick to anger, and I am furious by the shoddy way the customer is treated, along with the many inferior products they represent. Work only with recognized companies, and avoid Houzz like the plague - fine for looking at design photos, and nothing else. I wish I could give this review a negative five stars.
I sold on Houzz for a little while. Sellers are treated as poorly as buyers. I stopped selling on Houzz for several reasons. First and foremost, I don't want my name or products associated with Houzz in any way. The customer service is useless, adding items to sell... useless. It takes about a month to be paid after an item after it's been shipped. Over a month for one item to be listed for purchase. I could go on for days. Trust me... this is not a company you want to work with in any capacity.
I sell on Houzz.com and one word to describe Houzz.com is Frustration. Terrible customer service and a terrible seller dashboard.
If it weren't so inept and frustrating, their customer "service" would be comical. Recent "improvements" send you to web pages in different languages, and no matter how many times you change them back, you invariably land at a foreign language site. Products are wildly overpriced, and - all in all - Houzz is just a great way to waste time!
The best place ever, easy to do business with fast service with excellent results and beautiful work. Our counters are beautiful, we love them, balzarano's
There seems to be no help section for this website, therefore I could find no way to post a question in the forums. As a result this website is relatively useless. I really wish Gardenweb had not sold their website. I used it for gardening questions for years and years. It seems the people at Houzz have no clue how to run a great discussion/advice website. Especially when I compare it to the ease-of use Gardenweb provided. What a loss to us consumers with that fine old website being integrated into the Houzz mess. Tisk-Tisk.
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
